I have never commented on a video before but felt compelled to after watching this. THANK YOU for giving a mom perspective! And thank you for being quick and to the point. So many car reviews focus on power and are too wordy regarding visual detailing (which you can just see by watching the video so don’t waste my time). This was great! Look forward to watching more mom car reviews as I’m on the hunt for something to comfortably fit a family of 5.

Have to say I love that they moved the air vents to the doors. My kids hated the air blowing in their faces, and having them in the door made them super expensive to repair. We have never had an issue with the third row not getting enough air. On my second Odyssey, and with 4 kids I’d never look at anything else.

We just bought a 2022 odyssey and LOVE it! We were test driving suburbans and decided to check out what the magic seats in the Honda were all about. Game. Changer! I have two kids and am 20 weeks pregnant with our third, making 3 kids 3 and under. We needed space, versatility, comfort, and long lasting. We plan to have one more after this soon so being able to change up all the ways and places to put them as we grow was so important. I know, it’s a van, she ain’t that pretty. But actually on the inside she is reallll nice! And I’ll trade her in 10 years down the road for my suburban. But for now, yeah I am lovvvving the minivan life!
We had previously test driven the Pacifica and found that the seats were much thinner, so not as comfortable, because they had to fit in the floor. And we test drove the Carnival, which we really liked at first, then as we tried to get appointments to see different trims we found that the cars had to keep going to the shop for fixes. Brand new cars. So we left that train real fast.
But ultimately, we knew that the Honda Odyssey is the OG, everyone knows she’s a sturdy, long lasting, good car. And the magic seats are life.

tested third row of suburban, I’m 6’2 and my knees were stuck up high crushing on the seat, but once I went in an odyssey it was perfect, my knees didn’t crush on the seat and my knees weren’t up to my mouth, also tested 0-60 times, got a 6.7 second 0-60 in the odyssey, suburban did a little over 7 seconds

I’ve had this van since May and you forgot some of my favorite features: on the door, it will remember driver 1 and driver 2 seat preferences based on the key fob used. This is super convenient for my husband and I. It also has remote start feature. The cubbies in the back hold a venti Starbucks perfectly to keep it safe as you unload your target bags. It also holds the #carmom handheld vac beautifully. The magic slide feature also leaves a spot for easy diaper changes on the go. I was nervous to drive such a big car but I think it drives really well. The back up camera is fantastic as well as the parking and cross traffic sensors. I LOVE this car. Have 3 kids in car seats and you too will become a mini van mom.

Regarding the lack of rear ceiling A/C vents, it's less about the air blowing ON you, and more so about the distribution of air throughout the cabin to cool/heat the vehicle more effectively.

Disagree, a kid who is feeling a little motion sickness needs some cool air quickly. Also, on a trip it’s likely the sun will be on one side of the car for Lon periods so one kid will be hotter and need more direct air flow than the others.

I’ve probably bumped the view count of this video up enough to be posted in more peoples algorithms from watching this so many times, lol. We are waiting on our van right now, we ordered the blue elite and it should be ready in the next few weeks. I’m so excited! I drive a Hyundai Tucson right now with 2 kids in car seats, and hoping to have another soon.every time I go somewhere the interior seems to get smaller and smaller. Test drove an odyssey before Christmas and I loved the space in it! Only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was how low I seemed to be on the ground- coming from an suv (even a small one like my Tucson) that’s gonna take some getting used to.
Love your reviews, I’ve been watching them for pure entertainment:) thanks for the content!
    Edited to add:
Got my Odyssey a week ago and love it! I didn’t realize when I test drove one earlier that you could raise and lower the seats! I Raised the driver seat up and I don’t feel like I’m low to the ground at all- feels the same as my suv. I love it!!!

I had the 2018 and finally got rid of it today! So many recalls and problems! Living in South Texas the AC was a joke!!! My kids were constantly burning up back there and so many issues with it cooling and the location of the vents is ridiculous!! I took that thing in so many times I literally can’t remember how many times it was. They did so many hard resets and it still would give errors. We had to replace the battery in 2019 because it kept dying on me. FYI that cabin camera goes out and has so many problems when I was reading the Honda forums. The push button to shift gears is dangerous too. Sometimes it wouldn’t catch and I’d be slamming the breaks so I wouldn’t hit something. I will say the one thing I really did like was the amount of space and the sliding 2nd row. If Honda could fix the AC and get rid of some of the electrical / computer issues then I might go back to one in the future.
Now I’m trying to find a vehicle that will have enough room for my 3 kids and their stuff. Looking at Tahoe, suburban, and Sienna.

  • @SuperP123

I own a 21 touring and I have to agree with the vents!! We live in Texas and when rear facing my youngest was always sweating . Even now both kids still complain of being too hot and easily bump the vents when getting in so it doesn’t blow in the right direction. Also , because the vehicle is so large it take awhile to cool down (use the remote start)and I have a hard time hearing my soft spoken 8 year old due to the space. My other complaint for the 21 model is on the touring model there was no wireless charger or ventilated seats(sweating in Texas again at almost the top model). Also, the gas mileage could be improved especially compared to the Sienna. For drop off the sliding doors are awesome but you do have to wait for them to fully close before letting off the break or it will beep and not close this sometimes seems to take forever and if the drop off helpers hit the close at the same time as you then you get into a power struggle with the doors. Overall I have owned a 18 and 21 Odyssey so I still love it but they fall short on the above. Also, as a 18’ owner I had the vacuum and never used it so don’t get hung up on that is just a dog and pony show item.

It was between Toyota Sienna Hybrid and the Honda Odyssey because well you know reliability and resale value. I had a Pacifica and it started giving me transmission pulls in a matter of 2 years and it was only a 7 seater. I have 6 kids now so I was in the market for 8 seats and suvs have terrible 3rd row seats. So I looked into the Sienna and only the first 2 trims offer 8 seats. I felt it sluggish and no pep compared to the power of the odyssey and with hauling people on the daily that wasn’t going to work. Not to mention the availability on these vans due to the chip shortage 👎🏼 Happy with my 2022 Hotyssey 😉

Instead of these mini vans, they should bring back the station wagon. We had a caprice classic and it was a huge, awesome, plush ride.

My family actually loves side vents simply because air is not coming straight in the face. One thing I would have liked in my 2022 elite is a wireless carplay instead of Wired. Our family love all your car reviews. Although Odyssey review was not there when we were shopping, your reviews for Carnival (is that a car name? :)), and other SUVs made us decide to go with Odyssey.
Another cool feature is the rear entertainment is, we just hooked a Amazon Firestick into HDMI port and it became our Mobile Home Theater!! :)

This is really interesting, just to see the difference of ten years in my 2010 and the newest Odyssey. The shifter is mounted high on mine, although it's not push button; and I have a second glove box up top, which is our mask/sanitizer holder. I would miss that haha. But love the new safety features!

Those vents (or lack there of) are a deal breaker. It gets HOT in Texas during summer. I can't imagine that would be enough AC to keep the cabin cool.

  • @sirena9167
    @sirena9167 2 года назад

For those vents to be so low it better be blowing out the coldest air to keep all the back seaters cool

  • @LetsDIYIt

My wife and I are shopping for a minivan. It is quite frustrating that each van not the market has good points that make them attractive, while leaving off features that means you have to settle. For instance, the Sienna offers great mileage with its hybrid and AWD, no other van offers both together, but the Sienna has a terrible entertainment system and no Fam Cam/Cabin Watch. The Honda doesn't offer AWD or a Hybrid. The Pacifica has a fantastic entertainment system and stow and go seats both front and back, as long as you don't get a Hybrid. Their Hybrid isn't offered in AWD and the front storage is woefully bad compared to the rest. The Carnival is new on the scene and also does not offer AWD or a Hybrid like the Honda does. It's the one van we haven't been able to look at since no dealers have any around us.
If the Pacifica had a AWD Hybrid, with its entertainment package, it would be the leader for us. At the same time, if the Sienna just offered a better entertainment system with a cabin camera system, it would be at the top. The Honda is really nice and well put together, but lacks both the AWD and Hybrid options making it a tougher choice. No matter what way we go, we are giving up something we want.

Needs AWD and full flat seats. Only Dodge/Chrysler offer that in the new Pacifica. I owned a dodge minivan and used it with seats down as a truck to haul 4x8 and you can simply put in 5-6 bicycles in there . If the seats don;t go all the way down as in stow and Go then you won't be able to haul 4x8. Back then( 2-3 years ago) it was 25K now 50K for the same thing

Hi Kelly, I just subscribed to your channel. As a father of 2 (ages 8 and 4), I know you do videos mostly of mom cars, but I was wondering if you could do a vehicle of a dad car (aka truck). I currently drive a 21 year old pickup truck (no tether hooks or anchor points. Shows you how old it is) that will soon need replaced (due to rusting). Thanks.
