I absolutely love the Odyssey!! My neighbor had a 2002 Honda Odyssey with 200k miles and he works as a mower. He uses his Odyssey to carry the equipment and to haul family around the country too especially on road trips!! These things are absolute work horses!! He now currently has a 2020 Toyota 4 Runner TRD Off Road. Edit. I think the reason they got rid of the vacuum feature is because of the typical world of chip shortages were living in nowadays, unfortunately...
We just bought a 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring/Elite certified pre-owned Honda (one owner, no accidents through carfax) with 45,000 kms on it last week. We bought the 8 year Honda plus extended warranty (as this thing is literally a space ship electronics wise) to cover us for 4 more years as original warranty would run out in September of this year. I'm a truck guy, a tradesman. But I have a family of 5. Let me tell you, I did not think for one second in my life I'ld ever enjoy driving a bloody mini-van.... I can't even call it that, it's just a vehicle. My wifey bought it, it's her vehicle, I still have my truck. But man, this thing is on a whole other level! It drives for you! It's incredible! With the entertainment system in the back, twins that are 2 and a 4 year old are happy as clams. And getting car seats in and out or swapping them is a breeze, since the hooks are easily accessible. The middle seats slide as we removed the middle second row one, so easy to get kids or strap them in. Highest safety rating, and those sliding doors! Omg! Lane keeping assist, heated wipers, heated mirrors, folding mirrors, 2 drivers memory, very comfortable seats. I honestly can't say enough good things about this vehicle. Of course there's a vacuum too, but who cares with so much else to love. If you have a family, this vehicle is the best thing going.
My 2006 Honda Ridgeline just died, along with my llama, so not needing a truck anymore. I want the van for inside hauling and camping capabilities. You didn't show a view of the seats removed, or its capability of towing. If it was AWD I would of wanted it. I liked everything else.
My last Honda Odyssey Touring Elite was a 2011. I prefer the 2011 compared to the new 2022 I bought earlier this month. I don't like change, so I thought I just needed to give the van a chance. I don't use my phone for everything. In fact I like to leave my phone at home if someone else in my family is coming with me. A passenger can no longer set destinations in the gps while the vehicle is in motion. You can not use the hand free talk unless your phone is connected. Without a phone the navigation will come back unable to find a place even with the physical address entered. I don't like not having control of my headlights, but I may get used to it. The car no longer beeps when I use key fob to lock it. The center console does not come out between the front seats. Whatever you do don't drop a fry between the seat and console or you will need a wire hanger to get it out. The sliding doors make a loud pop when opening that I thought would stop once they received some use. The over all feel is just cheap compared to my 2011. The only thing I do like about my newer van is the sliding center seats which isn't new to 2022, but is to my 2011.
I have a 2005 town and country , wife bought it for me so I can take naps between shifts , it has stow and go seats , I never wanted a mini van ,, after this one , I won’t be without one , hounds can get in it with ease ..
If I am completely honest, I really want to see an AWD and hybrid model. Currently, we have an older Honda Odyssey, and I would like to upgrade. However, we live in a rural area, and I would like to opt for better fuel economy. I have wanted to check out the Toyota Sienna, and I really like that green color!
I’d get the Sienna. It has better mpg and available all wheel drive. When a van is loaded there is a lot of weight on the rear axle. All wheel drive is a must.
If you have ever had a hybrid and have maintained it well, as suggested by manufacturer, a hybrid will serve you well for MANY years. We loved our Prius and only traded it because we did not like sitting so low to the ground as we are getting older. We are not out for fast driving and making an impression. Definitely thinking of taking a look at the Sienna. We have had a Toyota, also, and have liked both of them very much. Good regular maintenance is the key to keeping a vehicle working well for years.
V6 + AWD would be ideal to me but new Sienna does not come with that. I guess it might be supply issue due to the pandemic. A 2.5l engine with AWD for a 5.2 metre length 2.2 ton vehicle is obviously too weak.
They should eventually make the cabin watch feature a simple button without having to navigate to the option. Most buying this product have families and kids they always want to keep an eye on.
I have been an exclusively Honda driver since 1989 and I have owned Civic's, Accords CRV;s and a 2012 Odyssey. I had my Odyssey for 2 years and traded it in for the CRV because it is horrible in the snow without having AWD. I live on the east coast and in an area where there are some hills near my house and that Odyssey got stuck so many times that I finally got rid of it for a 2017 CRv which I loved but I realized that it was just too small for me and I really wanted the van but with AWD so I ended up going with a Toyota Sienna and I really love it. It really broke my heart to leave Honda after nearly 30 years but I just can't believe that they do not offer AWD in a family vehicle like the Odyssey. If they did, I would have purchased that in a heartbeat.
I have a 2010 CRV and it’s not any different in snow with the AWD, the AWD is better in the rain, holds the road well, I had a 4- runner before this CRV and sorry I didn’t go back to another one, thought it would cost too much now in looking for more room hence the mini van since I’m going to nomad in it but still not sure which one to go with Toyota or Honda.
I have a 2015 ex-l and got a 2022 loaner from the dealership while getting mine repaired. I was thinking of upgrading to the new model but I honestly hate the newer model. First, I hate the idle mode, the car kept stalling and shutting off while on stop/go traffic. Second, I hate the center console being so small and not removable. There is no lane change camera!! The driver seat keep moving every time the car starts. The doors don’t automatically unlock when the car is stopped. The AC is not as cold. The middle ac vent is on the leg not the head. The rear ac control does not have a lock, my kids constantly play with it. I can go on about the stuff I don’t like but why bother, I’m just gonna keep my 2015.
Two things I hate. The Ipad screen glued onto the dash (same as toyota) and the 'cyclops' one clock speedometer. With many other makes going with digital double clocks and integrated touch screens I feel Honda is lagging here.

Honda should seriously overhaul the Odyssey. agreed. All AWD does is give false sense of security. I drive a 2003 golf manual with no traction control etc and we got 78cm of snow last year. I never got stuck once. I saw people with AWD luxury brands stuck because their tires are so low profile and they think they can get through anything

I also want to point out that in the version featured here, the outlets don’t have little covers on them. My 2018 has little covers and one got broken off immediately! I’m not sure how nasty the ports get if they don’t have covers though.
Thanks for sharing, it's very nice, but they could have done more for styling and More features like panoramic sunroof, HPD package, etc, but I understand they have hands full with all the new products around this time.
@@Chiderah100 The supplier went bankrupt and closed. That is the reason they came out with 2022 after just coming out with the 2021 refresh. I'm assuming they'll have a vacuum back for 2023 when they can find another supplier.
Your video really helped me make a decision on the 2022 Oddysee Touring. We just traded our 2007 Honda Oddysee ELX. We bought it new and it had 200,800 miles on it when we traded yesterday. Thank you
I live where it snowed 78cm last year. I drive a 2003 golf. I have never needed AWD and never gotten stuck. I think the AWD feature is actually useless in most instances and in most cases gives a false sense of security so could end up causing more issues than solving anything. I am considering FWD odyssey vs sienna and think AWD is overkill.
That’s the first thing I noticed about the video is that Bhangra beats, I thought it sounded Punjabi that the dhol started playing in the background. Awesome.
1:51 Thats kinda odd: The rear brake rotors are bigger than the front ones. ...Of course, it's ONLY by less than ½ inch but, this is THE FIRST time I can remember ever seeing the back brakes being larger than the front ones 🤔.
Stability control systems use rear bias in light braking. This works well but often results in the rear brakes wearing out faster than the fronts which leads some people to believe something is wrong. While the rear brakes don't need to be larger for performance reasons, I am guessing they do this to help them last longer.
Bring back amber/orange turn signal in tail lights on ALL vehicles ! Front end looks better ... 2022 Kia Carnival is preferred over this Odyssey ... Kia has raised the bar ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
Honda can you tell me the reason why the tailgate collect rain water? It’s all nice because the average buyer park these can in the garage. When you do discover this the odds you be out of warranty . This can cause electric problems with brake lights and airbags. Honda do better issue a recall
Please do everyone a favor and show us the front passenger seating controls. Is it the same as the drivers, or not? The spouse ALWAYS wants to know if they have lumbar support, electric seat controls like the drivers but 99% of reviewers NEVER cover this important feature. Please be the first on EVERY review. Thank you!
Did you disengage the eco before driving it? Because is does move pretty well for a block through the rocky mountains with it off and v-tech. It's no sports car, or close to a BMW M5, but she dishes it out against suv's or any other minivan mated to the 10 speed transmission.
I feel like this has less features than before! Honestly I don’t like the way it looks, nor the interior, I would look at the 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle or Sedona SX. I also do not like the 2021 Sienna.
I heard there was a hybrid with electric motors to each wheel in the works and was hoping to see it already out. Main reason being insane torque and performance. Really considering just making my own custom hot rod out of a 2nd generation ody at these prices :)
This looks exactly like the 2021, so I'm expecting that not much has changed since the 2021 model, since that was a major refresh. Honda would probably redesign the odyssey for the 2023 model year.
Did he say that the EX doesn’t come with leather seats? I just bought a used (obviously 🥴) 2014 EX and I really like it, and it has leather seats. My sole purpose is to turn it into a camper van for when I visit my step mom, she’s a chain smoker and I can’t even sleep in the guest room with the door shut, a fan going and the window open 🥵 I get the feeling that Honda is trying to push buyers into buying the Elite level package, but omitting the vacuum due to a manufacturer not having the materials is a lame excuse, find another manufacturer 🤷🏻♀️

No AWD. What is HONDA thinking?? Almost all their other vehicles are offered with AWD. Bad call. I would certainly buy this vehicle for long trips with the wife, dogs and luggage but Toyota is really the only option when you consider the AWD factor, hybrid power train (excellent economy) and highest ground clearance in the segment. In Dubai, all over the Middle East and maybe all over south asia certainly including my country Sri Lanka these were and are called MPV'S (Multi Purpose Vehicles). Minivans are a little smaller edition of a van. Vans- mini or regular have a higher almost flatter roof than that of this and are proper rectangular in shape like a school bus sometimes with the front engine compartment jutting out slightly. These are between a station wagon and a van. 1. Schoolbus 2. Minibus with about 28 seats 3. Van 4. Minivan. This is a different category, isn't it? 🤔🤔🤔.
They need to take off that auto-start stop feature. It's dumb having it start up at a stop and having to disable it you have to push a button every time you get in the van.

My dad traded our 2014 Odyssey exl to this 2022 Odyssey Touring in Platinum White Pearl in Canada.
What’s new for 2022? Absolutely Nothing!
Exactly I watched this thinking there WAS changes but it was no different
Higher price tag
No vacuum
@@smag61306 Oh great! How innovative 🙄🙄
Thank you
Glad to help! Congrats on your new van!
How do you like the new Odyssey? (Thinking about getting a new Elite soon.)
Those punjabi beats + the review is 🔥
That’s the first thing I noticed about the video is that Bhangra beats, I thought it sounded Punjabi that the dhol started playing in the background. Awesome.
Getting delivery of my Touring(highest model in Canada) on Wednesday!!!
Crusing at 59mph on I-75 south to Florida. 👍
I love them on the 5th now however 4 wheel drive would be a major improvement please!!!!
The new Kia Sedona (Carnival) got every minivan beat in terms of looks.
Yeah I agree.
Yeah and interior
I think the Kia is one of the ugliest vehicles on the road. That backend is horrendous.
Yea, they want a pretty penny for it too. And good luck trying to get one yet.
@@almassengale Kia can’t compete with Honda or Toyota, Kia s are junk
I was expecting more after seeing the new Carnival
It’s nice but I would still get the sienna
Agreed! Hybrid on all trims with AWD options. I have a 2021 Sienna XSE and I’m saving a ton of $$$ on gas ⛽️ @ 36 mpg combined.
Love the 2022 white roof option 😃👍
Indian music in the beginning gives a nice touch, and our folks drive Honda a lot too haha
I like how the Toyota sienna looks. But it only comes in four cylinder. I’m afraid the engine might have issues?
1:51
Thats kinda odd: The rear brake rotors are bigger than the front ones.
...Of course, it's ONLY by less than ½ inch but, this is THE FIRST time I can remember ever seeing the back brakes being larger than the front ones 🤔.
I think sienna is the same way. Don’t know why either
Stability control systems use rear bias in light braking. This works well but often results in the rear brakes wearing out faster than the fronts which leads some people to believe something is wrong. While the rear brakes don't need to be larger for performance reasons, I am guessing they do this to help them last longer.
please install 360 degree surround view, next time......
I heard that they were already selling these since I think December.
@Julie Righthouse it's strange that Honda decided to introduce a 2022 model less than a year after the 2021...could this be an emergency refresh?
HMA Line 1 where these are made isnt currently up and running
Got a 2022 elite today vin in the 200s
The Odyessy is not recommended by Consumer Reports.
Bring back amber/orange turn signal in tail lights on ALL vehicles ! Front end looks better ... 2022 Kia Carnival is preferred over this Odyssey ... Kia has raised the bar ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
Yeah I don't understand why Honda removed the rear amber turn signals. Amber IS a lightyear better and safer than red for turn signals.
Honda can you tell me the reason why the tailgate collect rain water? It’s all nice because the average buyer park these can in the garage. When you do discover this the odds you be out of warranty . This can cause electric problems with brake lights and airbags. Honda do better issue a recall
How far does the drawer come out under the center console on the Touring Odyssey 2022? I can't find any information on it. Please let me know.
Thank you!
I just got a 2019 Odyssey EX and front passenger seat does have lumbar support as well as electronic seat controls.
Did you disengage the eco before driving it?
Because is does move pretty well for a block through the rocky mountains with it off and v-tech.
It's no sports car, or close to a BMW M5, but she dishes it out against suv's or any other minivan mated to the 10 speed transmission.
May I ask you about drive it on wet like your clip it is about slippery lose traction?? Because all honda Odyssey front wheels right. Thks
I feel like this has less features than before! Honestly I don’t like the way it looks, nor the interior, I would look at the 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle or Sedona SX. I also do not like the 2021 Sienna.
What the Heck toyota sienna is a very very nice van not jokeing I don't know why do you not like the toyota sienna 🤨
@@iqsuperkid7523 it’s ugly! it looks fat, too bulky.
@@barbz_zayne lol it's a full beautiful minivan I swear
@@iqsuperkid7523 Can't remove the second row seats.
The backup camera looks different. They completely removed the vacuum!! What the heck.
Shop-Vac went out of business. No company, no vacuums for Honda.
I heard there was a hybrid with electric motors to each wheel in the works and was hoping to see it already out. Main reason being insane torque and performance. Really considering just making my own custom hot rod out of a 2nd generation ody at these prices :)
Are those seats removable?!
Can’t for the comparison between this and the Sienna
This looks exactly like the 2021, so I'm expecting that not much has changed since the 2021 model, since that was a major refresh. Honda would probably redesign the odyssey for the 2023 model year.
They'll redesign it in 2024
this nen is Real good I have one 99 year I bought 16 years ago and still rruning I really rrecomended
My 07 Odyssey EXL sun visors are extendable but the '22 Touring/Elite aren't? Odd. It's another reason I should just keep my van for a few more years.
Uh if that is going to prevent you from buying a new car you don’t need a new car
@@RUclipsuser1aa right ! 😂
Instead of heating seats they should have cooling seats for the southern states.
2 FRONT DOOR 1 BACK DOOR . NEED SUN ROOF . NEED 2 BACK WINDOWS . AIR IN OUT
How does the audio system in the Touring compare with the premium system in the Elite?
How about 2023 Odyssey? Hybrid like Sienna?
So what’s new for 2022? Sounds like nothing!
what about the snow gear button? I test drove one today and it had that button. From Idaho and that would be really handy
Very clear information. Thank you..
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the review!
Hi! CAn you tell me if the window shape has changed or is it still the same as 2021?
Same vehicle.
I like this Honda's Touring trim🤩👍🏻
Thanks😊😉
Too bad because I prefer Honda over Toyota.
Honda should offer the option of AWD on the Odyssey for those who want it. (who wants to switch to snow tires every winter, FWD can not go like AWD). Honda Corp. claims AWD would raise the height of the Odyssey and compromise storage space. The Toyota Sienna has AWD and it does not raise the vehicle or compromise space
What are paddle shifters and what function does it serve?
Wow what a beautiful minivan! I really love the odyssey it’s compact and beautiful too. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!,
Hi can we call
re we allowed
My local dealer said they are waiting for 2023 to arrive in May. If that true
Me Punjabi to I traded my 2012 Honda Odyssey for this new 2022 Honda Odyssey
Wow love the odyssey great job guys

How does this stack up against the 2022 Kia Carnival. That thing is a beast!!!
We have a specific side-by-side comparison of those two on the channel!
How about transmission? Mine became junk at 60,000 mile. Honda only paid for those who sued them. You still trust this car, amazing spent $1k fix. After changing to Toyota.
How long is the vehicle? Couldn't find it anywhere
Length is in a text box in the exterior section
can rear seats be removed/adjusted for loading large cargo? Thanks!
Yes, they can be fully removed 👍
What’s going oooooon RUclips. Love your reviews
Thanks! 😊
So does this mean that older Odyssey’s with the vacuum cannot be repaired or replaced?
Maybe you can also learn how to use the comprehensive diagnostic equipment to re-learn the throttle of this car: ruclips.net/video/tYv4dQpyN8w/видео.html
I'm super korean!
My car is carnival !!!!
Not a fan of the 3 seating style in between the back seats. Is there an option to remove it? Thats going to be a deal breaker for me and make me go for Toyota
The middle seat in the second row is removable. All the second row seats can be removed
The interior looks good just hate the front fascia.
i actually have a 2019 odyssey ex and im happy to get this one because the grill on the 2021 and 22 look like a mix from and old odyssey and my 2019
I wish they still had HondaVac! If the provider could not make any, then Honda should produce them theirselves!
The grill is what made me get a new 2020, instead of the 2021. The 2021’s looked older with the black grill.
Odyssey vans how I feel❤❤❤❤❤❤🚘
So does that snow on the roof come with it.
You dealer got the CRV Honda 2023 or 2022
In Dubai, all over the Middle East and maybe all over south asia certainly including my country Sri Lanka these were and are called MPV'S (Multi Purpose Vehicles).
🤔🤔🤔.
I’d buy one , gut it and live in it
What was going on with the dash electronic? Is it common that they glitch like that?
That's just an effect caused by the camera
Getting one soon, thanks
Wait what they got rid of HONDA VAC? And I’m getting an elite.
Great review. Thanks!!!
Imma get a minivan just because i like them😩
Any thoughts on the rear entertainment system? Screen quality??
It's nothing fancy, definitely not HD quality
What color is this ? Pacific pewter?
They need to take off that auto-start stop feature. It's dumb having it start up at a stop and having to disable it you have to push a button every time you get in the van.
While we have enjoyed our Odyssey 2020 we definitely DO NOT like the auto-start stop feature. A hybrid is not a hassle like this is.
The Toyota Siennas from 2011 to 2020 has 150 cubic ft of cargo space.
it is weird that i like the sienna’s interior better but i like odyssey’s exterior better
Not weird at all
Will a 4x8 sheet of plywood fit with the seats down?
The new hybrid sienna is leagues ahead of this with the hybrid drive train
Is the 2022 Odyseey still using a timing belt?
Great review - thanks! I have a 2021 Toyota Sienna XSE and enjoying it, though a a huge Honda fan. I honestly like 👍 it for fuel efficiency. Honda could have improved to really compete with Toyota with respect to Hybrid.
