Best mini van by far! Crazy power! I’m on my third odyssey which now has over 221,000 miles with the original timing belt. I’ve been traveling the country with my family of seven and luggage for years with this van. Extremely reliable, powerful, and handles like a car.
Honda Odyssey is the best mini van for families. I own one for about 10 years now, no major issues. Just regular maintenance and a few things broke but easily replaced myself.
I would argue it is the best minivan on the market. I wouldn't a Chrysler due to their long term reliability (edit to add: had a Pacifica as a rental a few weeks ago and it was super problematic in every department with 50k on the dash). A Kia was never on my radar, either. But the Toyota Seinna was a underwhelming drive with excessive wind noise and the drone like sound from the CVT. Severely underpowered when you need the get up and go. The interior felt very cheap and being unable to remove second row seats was a no go. Honda was the real winner after a testdrive; did not drive like a van, but a sedan, dare I say sporty. Love my Oddessy.
The Pacifica is overwhelmingly reliable. It only gets a bad rap cause the “name”. But the people that actually own one, they enjoy them. I had one go 300k miles on original everything, an I only got another to get a newer one with more options. You’re really missing out if you think it’s unreliable. There’s a reason you see a lot of them on the roads, even old town and country’s, it’s the one thing Chrysler did right.
@@jingzhao8912 snow tires are what's important. I live in the northeast and was caught in horrible driving conditions this winter in the Oddessy, but the snow tires prevailed. I saw a few Subarus in a ditch though. The only pro AWD drive has is the get-going; breaking is what's most important though with good traction on good snow tires. I had an AWD the last few winters before I got my van, and all-season tires on AWD are definitely not superior to snow tires on a FWD. I mean, if you live on a back road that isn't plowed, you might be better off with AWD, but was not the case for me.
@@dcman4902 in my experience while driving a newer Pacifica as a rental a few weeks ago, I would say it was all I needed to know not to ever purchase one. Also, my friend has a new one and she said it's been problem after problem and she regrets trading in her Toyota Highlander for one. With 50k on the dash, the infotainment center was glitching while trying to adjust air control (and I still prefer regular buttons than all electronics in case something fails. In this case, it was a red flag). The button to adjust the volume up kept getting stuck. All around cheap as heck, everything about it. I wouldn't dare through my money away on that junk. To each is own though. Anyone who knows cars knows Dodge and Chrysler are problematic. I owned one Dodge that had the transmission going at 100k, never again.
Only complaint I have with my 24 touring is the entertainment system. You cannot see the dvd menu when playing videos. The person in the second row has to navigate you through the screen on the main control panel. The remote for the dvd player has to be pointed in a specific way to maneuver the menu on the screen. This is just a bad setup, hopefully they fix this in the 2025 . Other than this one complaint. I’m very happy with my van
Right? I just watched a tear down of the 10 Speed AT and it is actually a fairly compact and simple series of planetary/sun gears. It doesn't seem to have the complexity of the old 2 and 3 shaft "manual wannabe" automatics that Honda was building with all those separate clutch packs everywhere. That being said, there are 5 more gears on this AT to go bad....LOL. I am quite impressed with the shift quality on the 10AT compared to the 5 or 6 AT from the past. Crossing my fingers that it is a reliable design.
This is the best mini-van with powerful engine, best build quality, best engine and the best transmission as well. Hybrid? No to the loud and slow drivetrain and eventual battery replacement!
Just finished my 4th 1,600 mile round trip from middle Tennessee to Virginia. Although this is my fourth Honda and second Odyssey (2023). I will likely not own another one. The adaptive cruise control is the worst. If set at 73 the speed will cycle from 69 mph to 74 on a flat stretch. It is even more erratic on mountains and hills. Extremely annoying. Have a Ford Escape and the adaptive cruise control is usually never more than 1 mph off target. So far I have 14,000 frustrating miles on it. Also Hate the auto stop feature. Other than these two deficiencies the Odyssey is a great vehicle. Average 30 mpg on the trip using premium fuel.
Best minivan but i hate Honda now for not fixing paint peel issue. Its happening to MANY white ones but and mine is only 7 years old with 39k mi. Unbelievable! My next one wont be a Honda for sure.
Waiting for the next redesign for the popular Honda Odyssey Minivan in the near future including a Hybrid variant, looking forward seeing a larger Minivan for the Odyssey.
whats the length from the back of the passenger front seat to the back hatch door? i want to put a 8 foot surfboard in there without putting the front seat down
In my area, Boston, the price difference was $12k vs the Sienna. Driving 8k miles a year with gas at $4 a gallon, it would take almost 20 years to make up the price difference.
That sucks, I have a 2018 Odyssey Touring, and it has a power folding side mirror and kick sensor for the rear door. And this 2024 Touring does not have it? And the rear cargo is still not flat, yeah Honda sucks.
it's a great car but extremely important 8-critical deal-breakers things are missing on odyssey, Honda absolutely must correct those things for next 6-th gen odyssey. those are. 1. awd option. 2. cam-360-view. 3. get rid-off this silly timing belt and put chain instead. 4. needs three pano-roofs. first row openable pano-roof as well second row openable pano-roof and 3rd row non-openable pano-roof. 5. some other features slow traffic follow cruise control and etc. 6. hybrid ultra strong battery with picnic devices charging features. 7. option of air-compressor for picnic. 8. additional led strong front lights. (females are using vans a lot & the females have a bad vision at night) some other features would be great such as as more wider and longer interior,. longer legs room etc. like cross-country version higher clearance with awd and etc.

Cheers :) consider changing that timing belt before it breaks though :)

Comenta algo que NO sepamos!!!👍
I owned 2 generations almost 20 years, and drove 3 & 4 generations as a company cars, now I own Elite over 4 years。
Love the Honda Odyssey.
But personally prefer the rear LED Taillight and body styling from 2014 to 2017.

Thank you for taking the time to share, Ashley! I appreciate it.

I need a versatile car and I love vans and Honda so maybe next year.

I wish this thing has AWD. Would be a no brainer if it did.
Best looking. I wonder if they improved the transmission reliability ?

I would like to see AWD or 4WD options.
Oh the HondaVac was available since 2016 I didn’t know it was discontinued.
As Covid 19, supplier closed!
top minivan in America, as per Ozarks
❤ Honda the Power of Dreams ❤

Honda need to upgrade their technology. Hopefully they don't rust around the back wheels and trunk anymore.
Which year has spare tire?
Any high end sliding door vans clooser to ground?
whats the length from the back of the passenger front seat to the back hatch door? i want to put a 8 foot surfboard in there without putting the front seat down
Exactly 8 foot. Should be no issue, I bought EX-L 2024 one month ago.
Its 2024, theres no reason to have a super small and outdated overhead screen
😂
Get the 2018 model.. the same specs
nice but still look like a hearse , just missing the handle on the side rear post .
So the elite is better?
My cusin has that
is this the best touring van? looking for more high end for grandchildren
Me gusta honda Oddisey para. Inti

Which Vans still have the vacuum?
I think it stopped AFTER 2021 but I could be wrong.
Self drive?
Bro it’s the same thing after 5 yearssss
They say the ground clearance is only 4.5 inches, sure to get stuck in snow and heavy rain.
It doesn't. I live in Alaska and it performs wonderfully.
It dont have to be ELITE.TOURNIG OPEN UP BACK DOOR WITH YOUR FEET. I DONT LIKE CARPET IN 2024 ITS UGLY 2018 WAS BEST LOOKING CARPET
Too low to the ground.
Not a hybrid...that is all
