Hikaru: Beating this version of Ding will be a walk in the park
Ding: So you have chosen death!
Hikaru "loudmouth " Nakamura. My advice to Nakamura: Retired, Quit Chess try checkers

Why don't Fabi, Nepo & Hikaru buy out Liren? Each pays 333,333 USD. They have a playoff. Winner faces Gukesh.
Each of these 5 players benefit. FIDE & audience benefit from having a better match. Hopefully it's not that no one is doing what everyone wants just because of something written in some book.
I absolutely stay awake at night thinking about head to head score between Hikaru Nakamura and Ding Liren 💯
It's crazy score is so close, cause in a viral video both ding and hikaru claims ding play is not that strong against hikaru as it is against other top players.
Poetic because with this if Magnus wins tomorrow and Naka doesn't then even in terrible form Ding blocked him from first again lol.
Yeah, same here. The nightmares are crazy... I don't know how to plan my days ahead, it's that bad... I'm asking for any advices... It's literally killing me.

@@nicbentulan fide “ethics” would like to have a word. Also Naka seems like a miser irl, no way he’s dropping that dough 😭

I actually got it right, but my thought process was no deeper than "oh look a free pawn". Definitely didn't realize that would be sacrificing the queen.
Glad Ding recovered sufficiently to do himself justice.
This remind me of the Ding games of old, where he would pretty much never have any weaknesses. So hoping for him to be back for real now.
Yess. He'd play both tactically and positionally, something that troubled Carlsen in his games against Ding
@@awriter1214 Exactly. As a longtime fan of Carlsen I was often frustrated watching his games vs Ding, but Ding also became a favourite over time. I'd love for him to return to the shape when he had his unbeaten streak.
Same here. Ding was one player that repeatedly outplayed Carlsen in the good old days. He'd be the clear favourite in the World Championship match if he returns to top form.
Playing for the win and not for the draw with black in armageddon is a sign that he's hungry to be back in shape and is passionate about the game.

Magnus is certainly grateful for Ding's win
Nah mags was always gonna win this tournament. Doesnt matter who against in the final
I like to think Ding is grateful for Magnus yet again getting in Hikaru's head.

A- Magnus dropped
B- Magnus coerced fide to ban Sergey

Hikaru gives Ding the full center at the beginning of the game with his own knight on the edge of the board. Ding winning by queening his center pawn is absolutely the outcome you'd expect. This is the second game of Hikaru's where he's thrown caution to the wind and disregarded all fundamentals and basic chess strategy in what I assume was some attempt to complicate the position, but that's not always a reliable strategy.
I have absolutely have had sleepless nights since many days wondering what the head to head score of Hikaru vs Ding is! Gosh! Thanks for giving me peace today
Ding: I have awoken
Hikaru: 😳
Everyone right now so eagerly wants Ding to perform well. Hope he wins a classical match soon, that would really help him mentally.
When Ding is in his element, His mood is such a savage "Throw at me everything you can"
Hopefully Ding and Gukesh will be in top form for the World Championship match. The upcoming World Championship will be very exciting
8:18 Anna Rudolf found that if white goes Rxd4?? There’s Qxf3!! Kxf3 followed by e1=N#!! For a stunning checkmate
That's incredible
I was rooting for Ding since he started losing. So happy he won this game.
"penultimate" is a good word. one of my favourites. I mean, its not the ultimate word, but still.
Its the penultimate word
6:02 I've never seen Agad this excited before. Almost smug looking lol.
He's like...... yeaaaah good luck calculating this one you peasants
@@zulqarnain9955 Agad isnt a titled player or anything. Odds are he only found the line with an engine. That being said, he do look smug and cute :)
@@ianerickson2210he’s an IM although one that’s been inactive for decades.
The dragon of china is back 🐉 🔥
The Dragon of China is Wei Yi. This game is a fluke. Nakamura tried to trick Ding with bad play into making a mistake. Ding didn't. Nakamura was punished. We'll see this next round if Ding truly is "back", I doubt it; not just from this tournament but from the Fischer random one he played a few months back.
@@necros6464 hating this much is bad for your health
@@necros6464There is no dragon in China.
Maybe in Norway?@@simonemiglioli1165
@@simonemiglioli1165 i am the dragon. Worororororo
I noticed it two rounds before this game. Ding had a totally different demeanor walking into the playing hall. Like something had flipped. He started to get some good positions. Lost them, but signs of life were emerging. I'm not even surprised at this game, I knew he was on the comeback!
This is beyond devastation...
Getting defeated when he was at your strongest(just reclaimed 2800) and Ding was at his weakest and then getting defeated by him in black pieces, that too in armageddon where a draw will suffice that too with Ding getting a second queen... Pure destruction...
I feel like Hikaru went into this match expecting a cake walk relatively speaking. In the end, he underestimated Ding and played a little too carelessly.
Return of the Ding!
Go Ding I believe in you
Ding finally activated his ding engine.
Feels like Hikaru went all-in too fast and ding took advantage of it
Ding 🛎️ Chillin 😎
Am I the only one who thinks that Ding will defend his title? Go Ding, we believe in you!
no
he said he will defend his title
Gotta believe him! I'm happy regardless if Gukesh wins but I'll be team Ding this WCC
Second prize is still a huge amount of money. It would be silly to withdraw regardless of whether you think you can win.
@@toaraBased on my past experience, comments like this could be torched by cultists…
Making a reply here so I got notification if that also happens here 🍿👀
I like the Ding quote. It reminds me of an old stand-up comedy bit about the thoughts of the runner far at the back of the pack at the Olympics. "I'm going to be in last place. I... I trained for four years... every day! I could have not trained at all and still have come in last!!"
You can never tell when your statements on somebody backfire at you...Hikaru seemed like a baby seal trying to move his pieces against Ding in this match
That "handshake"
Was shameful
Wow Ding so Sharp in this game his win made my day yesterday glad he was able to redeem himself a bit should be an interesting last day of the event Hikaru vs Pragg Magnus vs Fabiano
"You are up a queen".
First Time in life I her this expression on grand master level
🤣🤣🤣
Finally get the WC Ding. He’s a brilliant player when he’s on. Hes got a mega tough title defense upcoming. This was very well played. Nice win here
really glad to see ding bouncing back. he's one of my favorite modern chess players. when he was in form he never failed to deliver interesting games. I hope we see more of this ding in the wcc
Nice for Ding to end the tournament on a high note, maybe he just needed to prove to himself that he could still do it
I saw this from Hikaru's pov and it was interesting to see him explain why he chose this opening. I do feel that he tried to play the player and not the board. He made the game easy for Ding and hard for himself. I understand that he needed the win. Glad to see Ding win a game though.
Ding is slowly getting back
We all love an underdog finally winning but you often forget he had an undefeated streak for like two years
#suggestion Abdusattorov-Maghsodloo Uzchess Cup
The real G is Agad, for not showing as much games of Dings losses and dropping this gem with that insane title❤🎉
What an absolute chokehold Ding had on the position, I hope he regains his motivation and confidence!
So glad to see Ding bounce back with a win like this. He is truly deserving of being world chess champion, I hope he knows that.
I’m literally watching the video past midnight wondering what’s these guys’ h2h score!!
Candidates tournament: vidit defeated hikaru, costing him the first place, and vidit didnt do muvh for the rest of the tournament
Norway chess: ding defeats hikaru and does nothing for the rest of the tournament, costing him to lose the first (so far)
Glad I’m not the only one who stays up at night wondering the head to head scores between Ding & Hikaru
Hikaru never should have said bad things about Ding.
Ding said hold my coat and take this L
Hikaru chose such a passive opening. There’s nothing sharp here, and Black just grabs a huge center and easily holds it. And the central pawns win it in the end. What was Hikaru thinking?
Yes. Ding is back.
I'm a simple man
I see a video from agadmator, I press like
Happy for Ding. He needed it.
Only 2 places I hear the word 'penultimate' are in chemistry books and on this channel.
So glad!
I feel humbled every time I watch a professional game. Makes me think I should really study some chess theory books. Amazing that they can so consistently spot these intricate variations.
Hikaru: it’s against me the runner up that you decide to awake to?!…bro unfortunate, but Ding really played a beautiful game
Congratulations Ding
LETS GO I LOVE TO SEE A WIN FOR DING!
It is nice to see Ding back to playing top chess.
I think Ding had a very hard time handling the huge visibility of quite suddenly and unexpectedly being world champion. This fame is hard to handle even for extroverts. Hopefully, he will begin to deal with it. He might even thrive as in a sense the "underdog" against Gukesh. Having said that, I expect Gukesh may still win.
Glad to see him in a comeback. Hope it continues.
Being a Hikaru fan is difficult.
Finally
The emperor Ding is back .
I was hoping you might have shown the variation where Ding sacrifices his queen and then underpromotes to a knight resulting in checkmate (by rook, bishop and knight and pawn).
Instead of He Awakens, a more stylish title: Dragon Rising
Finally I can sleep peacefully knowing the H2H, thanks Agad
As a Hikaru fan, I always wide awake at night wondering how come the 1 game Ding won in classical was the one that really matters, the candidates!
We appreciate a rare ding w
Alright, Liren!
Since last two year or so i have been staying awake thinking about the head to head score between Ding and Naka?... Now I will remain awake thinking about how Agad came to know about this?
DING : BROKE
ALSO DING : WOKE
Ding finally chilling again
Hopefully he awakens in the classic as well so we would get a good contest between him and Gukesh
what´s the tiebreak?
why if Magnus doesn´t win in classical (but does in armaggedon) won´t be in first tie with Nakamura (if he wins), both with 17,5?
Or if Pragg wins and Magnus lose? won´t they be in first tie at 16 points?
Ding is back!
The most beautiful variation in chess is not yet born.
DING IS RECOVERING HIMSELF STEP BY STEP HE CAN STILL PLAY HIS BEST . I HOPE HE GIVES TOUGH FIGHT TO GUKESH AND I HOPE GUKESH BECOMES YOUNGEST WORLD CHESS CHAMPION
Finally the real Ding Liren arrives..
Finally Ding! Jesus Christ, you really made us wait for this one, didn't you...
They're the worst at shaking hands
I’m curious where can I see the record between two players like you did (like the 2-1 in classical for Hikaru…)
Website named Chessgames maintains a database and it's free to use.
Go Ding!!
We all want Ding back. I think he'll retain his crown
First of all moving the queen at 7:23 prevents bishop h2 thank you very much
i also think the same, Hikaru will lose his queen
@@billysutanto9473 I mean it's quite an obvious tactic but worth mentioning, I don't know why they didn't really point it out during the stream either from what I remember
