An instant buy for me, this album! I discovered this band when they opened a Depeche Mode concert, years ago...and I immediately knew I had discovered a great band!

@@Coldenthusiast my only guess is the chris brown thing. Unless any of us have been living under a rock…. Chris Brown physically abused the singer Rihanna. Chvrches as you know created the song “here with me” with Marshmello or however you spell it. Shortly thereafter Marshmello worked on a song ( i assume it was a single only)with Chris Brown. Chvrches then put out a statement that they were surprised that Marshmello would work with someone who abuses women or something of that nature. Chris Brown fans and trolls lashed back with racist comments, hate and threats. The comments about Brown and Marshmello were from Chvrches as a whole ( even though you can tell Lauren likely composed it), but because Lauren is the face of the band (main singer, easier target) she got the vast majority of hate about it. Lauren even had a post about her security at home and i read more security was added on tour. Pretty sure this has blown over by now. Some think Chvrches should of minded their own business as some Brown defenders say people can change…..that may be true, but i think he is repeat offender.

So beautiful and vulnerable. As someone who's written their own share of songs that didn't make amends and were designed for revenge, it's feels very relatable. One of the songs on the album that strikes a note with me the most. The album is truly amazing, I would say the best they've released yet.

These songs and this album are an incredible achievement for a great band. Talk about coming full circle from there debuted album I love to this album which is now my new favorite. I didn’t expect this album to be so good….it shows there evolution while maintaining the balance of the sounds that made them unique. Very few bands can do this and grow into a more mature sound.
