Fallout 4 is a 2015 action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fourth main game in the Fallout series and was released worldwide on November 10, 2015, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. The game is set within an open world post-apocalyptic environment that encompasses the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region known as "The Commonwealth".
Fallout 4 takes place in the year 2287, 10 years after the events of Fallout 3 and 210 years after the Great War, a war between the United States and China over natural resources that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077. The setting is post-apocalyptic, covering a region that includes Boston and other parts of New England known as "The Commonwealth". Unlike the previous titles, Fallout 4's story begins on the day the bombs dropped: October 23, 2077.

Scrapper, Fortune Finder and Scrounger have their uses, Scrapper in particular. Fortune Finder to gather more caps, Scrounger more ammo and Scrapper to get screws and circuits.
Early Scrounger so you don't run out of ammo, later it helps to buy anything by selling excess ammo. Scrapper good for modded armors and weapons scrapping, ok to get around lvl20 when they start to drop in bigger numbers, not urgent. Personally i was ok without fortune finder, selling extra ammo gave enough.
I love the scrapper perk. So useful at lower levels to find amo so you don't need to spend your caps
If I remember correctly there are 2 perks to help loading your wallet with caps. Fortune Finder is 1 and I forget name of the other. To me they are worthless to anyone that does not have a max cap thrill. My present character level of 63 has 20K caps and more salable ammo than that. I don't buy super expensive stuff from the traders so I have more than enough caps to not waste perk points on gathering more.
As a Survival player, Aquagirl and Medic are the only ones that go on every build. Swimming is Survival’s fast travel. And the increased Stimpack healing speed in Medic Rank 4 is a game changer.
But one of the most game changing combo is Strong Back 5 & Moving Target 3. Together, you can run Overcumbered for long stretches. Clear a dungeon of enemies first, then go back and pick it clean. You’ll be bringing back tons of equipment and junk.
Hazmat suit is enough to swim. Faster heal: favor for quick use 3x food/drinks too, with stimpack 3x-4x faster heal (for me it's 7,8,9,0 and all used).
Strong back super, to carry loot home lone wanderer is good too: fill companion, dismiss home then grab the rest and go.
Local Leader 2, Aquaboy 1, Scrounger 2, Quick Hands 1, Medic 1. I play on Survival; they're my must-haves.
Lone wanderer helps carry home loot even with companion. Once full and companion is full with loot, even told him/her/it to grab some heavier ones from the floor one by one you still have the backup option to talk to your companion, dismiss him/her/it back to base, then with the extra carry capacity grab the rest of the loot, 100 lbs.
Not screwed down? Take it!!!! :D
Concentrated fire is gorgeous if you're a VATS based player. Add that some crippling weapons, amor pieces that lower VATS costs and you'll have a blast getting tough enemies on their knees... literally. It's super fun and quite useful.
Idiot savant is still good with intelligence builds. It triggers slightly less, but at a higher amount, level 3 puts a cool down on it
Only issue with Idiot savant it gives level fast. Those who are overwhelmed with so many perks should not get it, because enemies are scaled up too, you need proper perk setup and modded weapon to keep up. For first playthrough i recommend not taking it, or after level 25-30 when got used to things.
You misses Nuclear Physicist for Power Armor playstyles.
Commando also applies to automatic pistols, just wanted to clarify because you stated "automatic rifles". Additionally, play a female character and get Black Widow for additional damage and better speech checks, as most npc's are male.
Good points!
The aqua boy didn't seem like it was necessary. Your perspective. Makes sense to me now.. plus didn't know there was loot under water. Thanks!
Mirelurk omlette gives you water breathing and if you help the people in Far Harbor Avery will give a dive suit that reduces rads and lets ylu breathe umderwater.
Auqua boy or girl is a must for me, espically in survival mode.
Only issue with Idiot savant it gives levels fast. :)

You don't need to ever use VATS with an explosive weapon. Just Spray and Pray.
I like bloody mess with legendary explosive shotgun maxed out. Add armour perks and stealth with rifleman and I don't need to worry about VATS. I usually unlock science and others because I like maxing weapons and chems.
I prefer "Toughness" over "Aquaboy/Aquagirl." I can get it earlier and without delving so deep into endurance.
Also, I prefer "Lifegiver" over the third level of "Idiot Savant."
Stealth, Mister Sandman, Ninja and also that great Deacon affinity perk Hands down.
I always go for a high luck build in survival mode with intelligence 1. First pick always idiot savant. Skip pistols and go for rifleman with bolt action pipe rifle, high luck means I tend to find better equipment, legendaries and gun mods. You want to balance your special skills and delay intelligence (for scrapper, science and roboticist) until level 40. By that time you’ve amassed a huge horde of modded gear that can be scrapped.
Am currently playing at level 30 and have an advanced suppressed assault rifle which rips enemies apart, explosive 10mm.
Other skills include strong back, local leader and assorted critical hit/stealth short skills.
I avoid aquagirl and stealth level three as with previous playthroughs I’ve found that swimming everywhere and not triggering mines kind spoils the jeopardy.
Find an explosive compact shotgun and then get explosive expert and adamantium skeleton for maximum fun!
Early Scrounger (luck2) so you don't run out of ammo (they spawn everywhere, bodies, crates, safes, wardrobe any container.... (Rank 1 40% Rank2 70% Rank3 100%...)
Later it helps to buy anything by selling excess ammo (38 early, but soon you will have 1000+ ammo per type if you check locations with many containers like the Concord Corvega factory). From level 5 you find .308 and .45 ammo, and soon fusion cores in heaps, etc. Superb.
Scrapper good for modded armors and weapons scrapping, ok to get around lvl20+ when they start to drop in bigger numbers and more complex weapons, not urgent (i get screws etc from traders buying cheap junk every time too). Personally i was ok without fortune finder, selling extra ammo gave enough, and making grape mentats.
For those that worry about such things there some always carry aids that weigh around 9 pounds. (Beer, Grape Mentats, Clothing, Hat, and Glasses for extra Charisma and Clothing, Hat, and Glasses for extra Intelligence.)
Commando is the best damage boost as it includes all automatic weapons although automatic shotguns
Are a bit of a dud as automatic shotguns have their effective range reduced all companions get in the way no matter which one you are with but are usually useful as they may have a high level skill that you may not have on your build as you can't put everything on your character at an early stage as you have to focus the build in the direction that you want to go
I don't use vats, it goes from basically useless to too overpowered very quickly. xD
The only time I use VATS is if it is by accident. For me, playing without VATS feels more organic and fluid. I'm not knocking those who use it, I just prefer not to.
So you can't ever crit, then?
Is funny because I usually don't ever even take any of those perks. I start aggressive from the get go and load my perks with anything to increase outgoing damage and to decrease incoming. I'm in it for the gunplay and building my character to not have to rely on VATS. Like i was saying, I'm not judging if you do, I just prefer the game without it.
@@jedinova67 Manual aiming on Xbox sucks big time. I have to time my rifle sway. The target reads my mind and often in the instant before my trigger pull he decides to move. All long shots have to be manual. In VATS 95% shots sometimes miss. If I'm in a rush, Vats takes it's best shot then I'm often in retreat mode. One thing that ticks me off is the reduced damage inflicted by my max damage weapon at longer ranges. Close and his head explodes like a watermelon, far and same gun takes 3 hits to the head. Real guns puts a bullet square in the bridge of the nose and its a kill shot, period.
Whats the best to improve vats accuracy? I noticed you had a similar experience standing next to a energy and missed all 3 shots in vats.
Improving perception helps, and there are a couple of perks that can increase some weapons like Sniper for example
@@BunkzGaming perception at 5 and still miss pretty much every shot. Even if I'm stood next to them. That's why I never use it
@@BunkzGaming Yeah, there's also a companion +25% precision to headshots affinity to be reckoned with.
@@danevlogs9470 That's because of your weapon spread: keep it at a minimal, especially for sniper rifles.
Percention and Agility, if your doing long distances manual aim works better, also you want critical banker. Their guaranteed critical hits. Also crouching and getting sniper perk helps. For sniper builds starting with a perception of 7 or 8 is a good number but generally 5 or 6 is good enough. Key thing is paying attention to your weapons range. Good stats won't help they are outside of the guns range spec and take accuracy penalties.
I got killed in glowing sea twice cause of posion there no perk for it
Rads in x02 were getting though
You forgot VANS.
WAT? Why? 8 years playing F4, never picked that one. Ever.
Vans sucks
Sorry but vans is one of if not the most useless perk in fallout4
Companion helps so much with carrying …..
Ive never enjoyed vats. Skilless game mechanic.
If it weren't for the foul language in Fallout 4, I would say Vats was for kids. But then these days foul language seems to be classed as cool by everyone between the ages of 5 and 65. I'm 76. After 20 years in the US Navy, I know all the words but don't have a need to use a foul word for every other word coming out of my mouth. I guess it was the way I was raised. Punished with a belt applied to the backside. I have witnessed grown men getting arrested for saying the F word in public, so it wasn't just my family that insisted on manners.
Sorry for getting off topic.
