Hey Sped, is it possible at all to include some info on Pedal/amplifier sounds along with your amazing videos .... thanks again for all this wonderful work. Cause somehow I find my sound is always different
Kashmir is my ringtone, problem is I never want to answer my phone! Great vid, thanks Sped. I've not seen an explanation of the reason for the tuning before 🔥
Haha, I had Ramble On as mine for years. I'd be like "Ramble O.... awwww who was that?!" Haha. Glad you found it insightful. Tried to make it entertaining too.
Your method of teaching is awesome, your exploration of fills and voicing’s is a head above. Really enjoyed this session……even though I’m several years late. 🤷🏽♂️
I could show this to my 16 yo who has been playing a year, or I could follow it myself after 30 years of playing and I both of us would get the same out of it. Which is pretty much incredible when you think about it. You're a Natural teacher sped
The alternate tuning says it all, so powerful. I've been trying to use 1-5-1 chord structures in standard tuning when playing this and it never sounded full. Excellent lesson, thanks.
Great as always. Like a lot of others addicted to your site. Try to play guitar as much as I can. My bass playing suffers a bit but whatever. I love the fact you show how to play stuff properly no short cuts correct tuning everything. Hope all is well there.
Thank you for being so complete with instructing this song.. so many people only teach the main riffs rather than the middle and end parts on this long awesome song. Cheers buddy.... I would love to for you to teach Jack and Jill by Robin Trower... now, that's a very difficult song to play and I know that you are talented to pull it off my friend ....
Sped, you nailed Jimmy's voicing!!!! I've watched lots of tutorials on KASHMIR but you are the first one who gets it right! I always felt something was missing when I played it so I just winged it with a muffled fill! You gave me those fills just now. I am so impressed. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
Another great lesson Sped - thank you!! I heard when Jimmy was asked what's your favorite Zep song of all time...answer: "Kashmir" One teensy correction to your Example 4: That picking riff that leads to A chord needs to end with an open D note. At least that's what I personally hear in the song.
Just wanted to say thanks for the lesson mate! Perfectly pitched, the pacing and clarity of your lessons is always bang on - you're defo up there with the best online guitar teachers, justin, marty & sped - always my go to lessons. If you get time, could you put a few notes on how to replicate the sound....it proper rips! Cheers pal!
It does. I always have a DDario tuner on my 12-string stock and just fast tune down if I need to, I have no time to mess about otherwise. Same with my Telecaster.
Hallo Im going to try to play Kashmir as my first real project ,, its a werry hard song to lurn but its so good and heavy so Im realy going to try and train allote ,, okey I see you again thank you for teaching
It was a bad ass tutorial bro! You nailed it thanks for sharing love the video and will definitely try to learn this led zep's classic. More power and videos please
As they say up north “what an absolute bloody belter” amazing sound and visuals , and superb lesson. This is going to enable a lot of people to play a superb rendition of this iconic track . Congratulations
Dude sassy old Jimmy making faces and wiggling his hips while looking like he's straight out of the 18yh century is my favorite thing right now and it motivated me to get my ass in gear and plug my guitar in. No thanks windows XP. I don't want any u2 music. Even for free. I appreciate your contents value and really enjoy the humor.
I think I got the “Chucka Chucka down. You need to press down hard on the strings with the side of your strumming hand. I tried with my left hand, and had no luck. It also helps if you have the neck pickup. This is a good lesson. Thank you very much for that.
Great lesson of a great tune...im a huge zeppelin fan & my favorite tune is 10yrs gone followed by how many more times...im gonna crawl is high on my list as well...keep em coming👍💪🍻
When i realised when watched this lesson season of Kashmir, I am thinking how genius of Jimmy Page to made this badass Riff until now this Riff still sound sick? ❤❤
This is the only lesson so far that i can really clearly see the positions and chord shapes and all that. Will be putting this to use asap! Being a lefty that matters because it's always a nightmare transposing stuff righty to lefty.
@@SpedSpedding Sped, indeed I do! Helped enormously. Someone just told me that nothing will ever sound like a real Vox Super Beatle amp or AC30 no matter what, even Vox's own new modelers. My question to you is, do you think Vox's newer smaller amps are junk or what? I mean, is that remotely true? I have a Vox VX50 modeling amp and I continue to try to get different sounds out of it. I was just using a Zoom G1X pedal with it and I have to say it sounds tons better WITH the G1X than it does with stock FX the amp has. I've never owned an AC30, AC15, or Super Beatle so I have no idea. I know what they are supposed to sound like, of course. Aren't the older Vox Valvetronix amps good?
I subscribed a few months ago. Now I’m addicted. Love watching your videos. I have to start playing more instead of watching you and saying that was interesting then going to sleep.
Saw Jack White at the Chelsea in Las Vegas.. it was such a great place acoustically.. Got very loud.. I had front row but who needs a seat.. when there was a dance floor in front of the stage.. a bar to the left.. wow.. Blunderbuss
Hi 👋 Hi am new to your music room, I which I could pay, I am in my 70s, my fingers don’t move like they used to, I love Led Zeppelin music, I have 7/8 Guitars 🎸 that I have put together over the years from secondhand parts, bodies and neck, With Seymour Duncan pick ups. And push pull pots , and I have repaired and repainted them, . Great territorial, on a classic peace ☮️ of music. Stay safe, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN FRANCE.
Nice and yeah would be awesome to be able to re-tune guitars during gigs - I've never played it all the way through, but you can actually play this in drop D - it's easier to set tuning on the guitar to that, especially quickly during on a night.
No problem. It’s a lot of work, but worth it. These lessons pick up nicely and they will hopefully educate people for years to come. Thanks for stopping by! ✨😎
This is really excellent, Sped. I've known to play this is in dadgad for a long time and even had the joy of showing much better players how it's actually done - especially the ones who like to play it so they can show off their pinky-stretch powers. 🤣 But, there are a lot of little details in here that I've missed that make it so much more authentic sounding - mostly mutings I didn't do before. They aren't easy either, but I guess this old dog can still learn a few new tricks. Thanks so much.
How cool is that! Stoked to be able to show you a few new tricks through the power of the tube and in turn you can pass them on to other too. Let’s never break the chain. 💪🏻
Great lesson. You mention at the start that tabs are available on your Patreon. I joined at the High Five level but not seeing this video or tabs for this song?
Hey Scott, you can search Patreon on the main page and it will bring you whatever video and learning materials you need. What’s probably easier though is once you’ve joined, click the link that’s at the top of this video description and it will take you straight through. I’ve just clicked it myself and it’s all there. 🤝🏻
This isnt comment about this particular less Sped, which by the way is great, but I was wondering about a lesson for The Song Remains The Same? any possibility of that coming soon?
That was really nice, thanks! Everything but the outro...but that's just fine. The ergonomic details are very precise and useful. :) Curious about your bridge pickup...slightly hot, like Jimmy Page? 8.2?
Hey Stewart, thanks for this. Confused as to what you mean “everything but the outro?” The chorus/guitar solo section as exactly the same as what’s played in the “outro.” All parts covered. Some just repeated.
@@SpedSpedding Well, technically, the walkup at the end is played by the bass and keys, but when they did it live Jimmy joined JP and played it on guitar. They often ended on that walkup instead of fading. So, the part from Gm to A (chords) G to C# (notes). Again, much respect for the best job I've seen laying out a Zeppelin tune!
What Effect do you have on while playing this? Chorus + Reverb? Thanks for the lesson. I'm gonna have to learn this. 🙂👍 Edit. I noticed you said Reverb and Delay at the end. Sounds like you have a Flanger or phaser going too. I'll experiment with it. Thanks

Achilles Last Stand, come on Sped, that's Jimmy at his most badass... and I really need help learning it.

"In my time of dying" is a contender in "The most badass LZ tune" :-)
the actual sound of Jimmy;s guitar on the studio is a unique dirty jangle like no other.
Your take on these songs is just great
Thank you Edward, stoked that you are enjoying the lessons! I like the little head Emoji too! 🤘🏻😏
such a bangin tune and great lesson, makes me want to pick up my guitar.

Sped, agree with you that Kashmir is badass, but Achilles Last Stand is greater, I think.
Love your videos- you, sir, are badass!!!!!
