lmao same with not reading a ton of books by men. and usually it's queer men when I do. I recommend Gordo by Jaime Cortez for that prompt about childhood play outside. another slice-of-life look via short stories, in this case into the lives of a children in a migrant workers camp in California in the 1980s. truly excellent book and I think it's hot weather as well. thank you for all these recommendations, you definitely got me intrigued in so many of these. I love a rec video with lots of different kinds of books like this!

I’m always saddened at Breasts and Eggs reviews because they never mention the fact that Natsuko is asexual which is the main thing that makes her reflections about motherhood so difficult for her because she doesn’t know asexuality is normal and lots of people are having babies without being in a romantic relationship. I’ve actually written a big post about this because as asexuality in an « invisible » sexual orientation, it’s often never mentioned in book reviews even when it’s the center of the book. This erasure of asexuality in discussions has led me and many asexual people to think we should feel ashamed of it

You’re absolutely right! Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Natsuko is asexual, and I should have mentioned that in this review. I will include this piece going forward when I talk about Breasts and Eggs!
