That shiny boy band look is actually called Cheiron Crush aesthetic. I miss that look! But there was an era before McBling called 2K1 aesthetic which is the era after Y2K but slightly before Mcbling started. Love the videos!!!
I really thought I’d have a space house by now 😂 but also I think of ‘99 as part of y2k and in a lot of ways the most y2k year of all, with all the excitement leading up to the millennium
I agree that the 2K5 aesthetic (the brown boho looks) ended around 2006 to make way for 2K7/Dark & Digital. You have no idea how much fringe I wore in 2005 ha.
Individual experience plays a part here - for me 2005-2007 looked pretty similar and then another big shift happened around 2008. But diff preferences, ages, locations, access, etc impacts all of that
I can't wait to watch later! This is my favorite podcast!! I really miss when it was considered rude to ask others what their political views are..I honestly don't want to know. Lmao
Glad you enjoy!! In this case, I’m not talking about individual political views but more about the general political and cultural attitudes of the time period
Same girl, I never and still don’t have an issue if someone holds different views than me but it’s gotten so crazy I desperately try to avoid the topic 😵💫

Jenna, I love all of your Podcasts and short video, good luck and have fun.
Jenna you need to do a deep on the 2K1 era. It didn't just go from Y2K to Mcbling. I relate to these videos so much, pretty much graduated in 2005.
There are always transitional periods but I’m doing pretty broad strokes here
The Jetsons really fooled us into believing the y2k optimism. Sucks that y2k was only for two years (2000-02). 😂

I'm 100% for bringing back capri pants, but I want to see them updated for 2024!
Capri pants are back! I've seen many of them in stores, denim and material.
Yes! Boho fashion is exactly where my soul stayed and rested lol! It is def still there. I absolutely LOVE it.
