Love Crowley's books. His work on the Portuguese navel empire was fascinating. He spins a great narrative through his works. Thanks for these lists. Very informative.
Another Peter Heather book, called Barbarians and Empire: The Fall of Rome and the Birth of Europe is also a worthy read. It centers more on the Migration Era and its various causes and effects, though.
Please keep these history recommendations coming!! I'd love to see some about the middle East, I have "a peace to end all peace" by David Fromkin on my tbr
YES MICHAEL! GIVE ME MORE BOOKS I CAN'T BUY IN ROMANIA! I will serious buy a kindle just to read these. If you can do one for Greece because I love it that much more
Okay, I just happened to have Rubicon and Dynasty on my shelf. Don't remember where or when I got them, but I think I know what I'm reading after I am done with my Norse focused stuff. I will finally become the meme 😅 Cheers for the recommendations as always!
Could you make a video about the best short history books and your favourite historical fiction books? That would be interesting I started today with "The rise of rome" 👌🏻
You have missed a spot with the most of Byzantine history. I can recommend A short history of Byzantium by John Julius Norwich or works by Anthony Kaldellis

When brushing up for this list I discovered that, and that is basically meant to be included as a trilogy, so I'll definitely be getting that soon
