      She's the most dangerous woman in all of time and space - she's the Doctor's Daughter twice over, while also being the Doctor's wife and the mother of the Doctor's children. That's a hair's width away from being her own mother and destroying the universe in a massive paradox...

      Georgia Tennant also went to school with Lucy Baker, daughter of Colin Baker, the Sixth Doctor, so she thought it was a far more common thing to be the daughter of Doctor Who growing up.

    After this episode I rushed out and bought the "Jenny: The Doctor's Daughter" CD box set, audio drama adventures {basically radio style plays} by Big Finish Productions. So, I only knew about those first 4 episodes from 2018. Then I just discovered that there is a "Series 2", from 2021 with 4 more adventures. She also appeared in one with her actual earlier generation dad, Peter Davison {Peter Malcolm Gordon Moffett} in "Doctor Who: Once and Future: The Artist at the End of Time" in 2023. She also appeared in a comic book series "The Lost Dimension" issues 1, 6, 7, and maybe 8, and "Prisoners of Time" issue 11 story "The Choice".

    Would have LOVED a spin-off with Jenny, but just never panned out. Not sure why, it just never happened.
    And by now, you know the story - Georgia Moffat is Doctor Number 4 Peter Davison’s daughter and there was chemistry between Georgia and David on the set. My favorite story is a fan got a picture of Davison, Moffat and Tennant and got it signed by Davison and later got to meet Tennant and get the picture signed. David saw the photo, saw the signature, just looked up, smiled and said “Been hanging out with the in laws, have we?”
    Actually, I’ve heard since RTD and Tennant have been friends for a while, RTD was actually trying to cast actresses who were David’s type when he could, see if sparks flew. Rennete in The Girl in the Fireplace was the first time and Tennant and her did date for a time. The second attempt worked out.
    OK, enough Who gossip - isn’t this fun? I actually REALLY love the moment where you think “God, Doctor might actually kill this guy.” when he has the gun on him. Tennant is REALLY good at giving the Doctor a bit of a dark edge. Love the progression on Donna’s character too, how she both compliments and challenges the Doctor.
    Can’t wait for the next video!

    The "I never would" scene often gets flack from Classic Who fans/after some have made progress with Classic, due to the Doctor using guns/killing in classic. But (may be biased cause this would have been while i was early in my classic who watching) like the Eccleston (unless up against Daleks) & even more so Tennant Doctor & beyond is the man who never would as opposed to the Doctor in general being who never would. Like there was a (couple, including the expanded universe) Time War(s) between Classic & Revival Who, & regeneration being a fresh start, wanting to be a pacifist/not wanting to use guns in any way if he can help it, with said fresh start makes sense.

    She's seen up to Revolution of the Daleks, so I can ponder this: It's interesting how future episodes would unintentionally add to why Jenny couldn't regenerate. I always assumed from details given in other episodes that the vortex grants the power of regeneration to Time Lords, but then you have all "The Timeless Child" stuff which implies that it's something artificially given as opposed to it being at all natural.

    Martha is a completely different character to what she was as a regular from Series 3 she was abit of a damsel in distress in this episode which I thought was a major disappointment after her bravery at the end of Series 3 but I also didn't really see the point of her being in this episode there was no real purpose to it I feel she was just there for the sake of fan service if she wasn't in this i still think the episode would not be a loss.
    The saddest part for me out of this whole episode was the Hath drowning into the swamp that was so dark and sadly I blame Martha for it.
    Jenny was originally meant to stay dead but Steven Moffat (future showrunner) insisted on keeping the character alive for a potential spin-off that never happened or planned something that didn't lead anywhere as a story and apparently Moffat forgotten all about it and 15 years later the character is still nowhere to be seen.
    The actress that plays Jenny is also married to David Tennant in real life and is the daughter of a Classic Doctor (Peter Davison) so you have the father-in-law and the son-in-law playing the same character and Peter Davison was also David Tennant's favourite Doctor growing up.

    • @BritanyBinges
      @BritanyBinges  9 месяцев назад +4

      For me, Martha is in this to show more of the Hath. Without her being taken by them, we wouldn't have any reason to see them again until the end of the episode. We also wouldn't have realized they can actually be gentle and caring (unlike most of the humans shown). So, I'm okay with her being in this.
      Unfortunately, I do agree that the Hath's death was her fault. It tried to warn her about going outside. She dismissed it and then she basically shamed it into going with her.
      I would've loved to see more of Jenny in the show, but some others have said they did do some Big Finish stories with her so, at least that's something. I'll have to check them out eventually.
