Thank goodness America didn't pick any fights with Prussia.... Springfield < Dreyse. At the same time, the US had hundreds of thousands of Spencer rifles in the Civil War though...
It was created in 1841 but it wouldn’t become standard issue until the mid 1860s, in 1866, the Prussian army had 285000 troops and 270,000 needle rifles, also the dryse had very poor range and accuracy with a range of 600m compared to the minie rifle which shot over 1000m, and by 1866 you stared to see minie rifles being converted to breech loaders but still had the range
More accurate one: Most empires: the minie ball is so good, it can reload just as fast as a smoothbore with more than 4x the range omg so good Prussians: ha ha das zundnadelgewehr 41 go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
@westernadventures3719 I'm pretty sure most soldiers on both sides tho were using single shot muzzle loaders, hell a single shot cartridge bolt action would've been more effective
@@joshuadell3279 i think there was a needlefire rifle called the greene rifle but i dont know if it was used at the war and also the united stated was a bit against with the needlefire mechanisim
Needle stabs through the paper cartridge and hits the percussion cap behind the bullet, it bursts in a small explosion which ignites the powder behind it After around 20+ shots the needle has to be unlocked and unscrewed to be replaced
This is created in 1841 and the austrians in 1866 still using muzzle loader.
guess who win?

Ya jelas senapan dreyse Prusia dong mas
the austrian rifles werent even really bad but they used garbage tactics for what their soldiers were equipped with

Prussians can't stop catching w's, including with this gun design.
The world: muzzle loaders are the best!!
The Prussians: think again.

Imagine how effective these could have been if they were used in the American Civil War
i dont thinks so the spencer rifle and carbine seem to be way mor efective

Why is there a needle and whats the needle for
Needle stabs through the paper cartridge and hits the percussion cap behind the bullet, it bursts in a small explosion which ignites the powder behind it
After around 20+ shots the needle has to be unlocked and unscrewed to be replaced
ignition of the round
Basically grandpa version of a firing pin
It's funny how us Filipinos used German weapons
Wait really?? How?
@@kenzothedarksoldier4879Yeah, almost every nation had a muaser related firearm, a variant originating from they're country
@@kenzothedarksoldier4879Spaniards.
isn't Philippines used Mauser not Dreyse?
