It helps to take a pointed object and tap it in random spots while wet and it creates break points for the crystals to grow from and they splinter out from each spot
Gratts to 60000 subscribers! Really cool effect with the crystal and really nice with the pigments... Will be fun to see maybe light grey background and crystal effects with black on top and the test pigment "ghost red to black"...... Good job!
Love the content, brother. This. Crystal effect would look super cool if you laid the color interference over it, or even glow in the dark might look tight. I don't see any in eye candy's catalog, but you ever mess with thermochromatic pigment? I got a few grams for epoxy projects like a decade ago that turns from pink to crimson at 90F. I always thought it'd be sick to paint a car with it and park it in the shade or behind some lattice to get temp patterns from temperature difference.
Fully painted it puts me in the mindset of forged carbon, which is awesome!! Sanded though, it gives off plywood vibes, which can still be pretty cool for a custom look!!! Pretty cool!!
Sweet Bro Thank You. Really Looking Into Doing This Style Paint Job. One Panel At A Time And By Myself. Gonna Use 68 Corvette Bronze With Black And Some Orange Pearls Or Flakes Like You Use. Thanks For The Video GT And The Shout-out 😎👊
Interesting concept. Seen Triggerman do some demo's. Thinking would look cool with base with some of the blue pigment, crystal, black over then sand, clear. So many possibilities. Take a special vehicle to rock the look though.
I wonder about maybe using this to make a camouflage effect. You know maybe like using green instead of black. Also, what happens if after the black you apply clear coat, then use the urea again, lightly sand it, and a different color? Just curious.
Would like to see a cobalt blue base / crystal effect / black top (sanded) / and a color shift purple-blue or purple-blue-green shift / clear coat ..... Maybe try some small scale tests to get the crystals to pop more before doing the fender .. Thanks
I appreciate all the work and effort you put in the videos for us. I've done some nice paint jobs but only on motorcycles and the hardest I have done is candy apple red. I would have liked to try this with it.
Thanks, brother! I'm currently working on my car, getting it ready for its 7th paintjob.. and I'll be doing this effect on it with some colorshift as well. I haven't tried the color combo on a test fender to see what it'll look like, so the reaults will be a surprise to us all 😅
That's pretty cool. You could recreate a killer patina on an old car or truck with that method. I dig it ! Would any type of pigment come out in a matte clear ?
I’m planning on spraying custom coat truck bedliner over the entire car. Safety yellow. I’m wondering if adding a color shift would make the yellow pop.
Normally I'm not a fan of green, but the green looks fantastic. Your idea to apply a candy color sounds like a winner. As for laying down flake would it be better to spray it before the crystal effect?
I would probably spray a silver base, then silver flake, then clearcoat, and let that dry. After the clearcoat has dried, sand it, do the crystal effect, spray the black base, sand that, then spray the candy and finish off with another coat of clear.
Dude that came out fantastic, I like it a lot , great job . I would put that on an off road jeep ! Shit I would do my speakers .. where are you located dude ? Everybody I always look for live in some other state other than Ny. Darned.. I would have paid you to paint my speakers..
You guys know urea is piss right? I would be concerned that any scratch would rust quicker than you'd expect. The vikings used to (blue) black their swords by pissing on them and burying them.
GT Have you ever checked into hydro dipping ? I been toying with the idea of doing it on a metal dash in my 56 Chevy , currently see it done on guns but it should work on any metal ? Also thought about wrapping it in carbon fiber ? What do you think ?

Doing a pearl over that could look amazing
Is your boy GT goin walter white on us!!!…..gettin all scientific and shit, hell yea WE love it!!!

That Crystal Effect would work well creating a Camo paint job on a 4wheel drive.

Yes sir, I agree. The outside edges of the panel came out very cool. Almost a camouflage affect. This would look awesome on my JD Gator! Hmmm🤔
I think with that sand base, I like the green on the left better. Thanks again Bro.
I suggested this crystal effect months ago, even sent him a video on how to make the solution. 😑
Fully painted it puts me in the mindset of forged carbon, which is awesome!!

The concept is great.. given the right colors, I'll look really good.
Not a fan, but that’s the point of this testing, everyone has different likes.
Thanks for the video!
wow, I love that crystal effect. I've never seen that before.

That is going to go on a future project! Thanks for showing this technique!
It does look really nice I'm not disappointed at all
cool GT nice Crystal Effect
White base then crystal then a blue then a blue pearl would look awesome. Kinda like ice
I was hoping to see you do the color shift without the wet sanding process
I wonder about maybe using this to make a camouflage effect. You know maybe like using green instead of black.

Good idea!
@kellyblack4897 The camouflage idea sounds like it could work! Do several layers of camo colors until we get the desired effect 🤔
I could see this making some unique camouflage colors - only need to choose earth or green tones and a flat finish coat 😁
Cool would like to see more !! Thanks for what you do Sir
Nice effects. Would be interesting to use some type of stencil/template/mask to make different designs with the crystals.
Do some stencils and stripes. I really enjoy this channel and I may be motivated to buy a spray gun and compressor.

Pretty cool, maybe a cool look on a Baja truck or ATV.

Reminds me of the 90s graffiti style... But I agree as a camo paint job would be cool.
Try an effect pearl, then the crystal layer and another color shift or same pearl on top.
Wow! That is interesting. Thanks.
I think there's a paint line that will give you the same effect. Nice demo
Thanks for sharing knowledge with us GT

That turned out cool, but I'd to see a red candy over the top of that, maybe for a RUclips short ?!?
Oh hell yeah dude wicked

Candy over that I would like to see
Any candy color
Thanks GT
Do you have a video on cerand wrap method? Kinda the same outcome.
I think the intercoat leaves a gray haze color at far angles
Do these colors but the green first, then the crystal and the geshia doll over top.
What would be the best combo to get a burgany or maroon color? Thank-you love your vids.
Awesome
I noticed a lot of bumps while it was almost dried. Would it be possible to paint it before the drying? (right at flash point)
I have you tried using rustoleum clear with pearl in your spray gun, if not, could you give that a try?
Upol is only $44 bucks at Oriely's. Only clear I could find in stock locally when ran out at 5pm yesterday. LOL
I think that effect would look good on a Rat Rod
Can you do Kin gold clear over just primer grey?
Looks like fiberglass when it’s drying 😮
Candy over that will get a better effect a more rich deep look
Have you tried it with dish soap?I never tried the Ox Gall.
Dish soap? Can you elaborate on the concept, process?
first
Just curious. But what if u ddnt sand with 600 grit and just cleared with pigments?
Thank you sir 🙏
Very cool.
Me no like effect. But me like GT experiment. GT good man. GT do gangsta low rider and more custom effect. Keep pushing envelope.
Sent from my cave
I think you would have gotten a more consistent effect if you had sanded with a block.
Not my thing, but it's definitely an interesting technique. I hadn't heard of it before.
How do u clean thw white powder off
Redoooooooooo 😮
@GT what pressure were you using laying down the clear?
Great upload. 🫵🏻💪🏻🤙🏻
Bravo
I personaly do not like it, but to each own,
Maybe the color combination wasn't the greatest, but I'll try candy over the crystal to see if anything changes 😄
Yeah do some candy
You guys know urea is piss right? I would be concerned that any scratch would rust quicker than you'd expect. The vikings used to (blue) black their swords by pissing on them and burying them.
Paints by trigger did the exact same video
BILE AND URINE
Alsa Corp had the best crystalizer ever, it works very good
I suggested this months ago 😔
It's like a graffiti effect
Urea = Pee. HaHaHa. Great effect for paint.
