It's possible they didn't censor it out of their own choice, considering what restrictions can be like. Besides, there's been things in previous games that've been censored for good reason, like Oceiros and Ocelotte.
most fun boss in the DLC in the most wasted area of the DLC - they had such opportunity with it. Frenzy Flame area when you are the lord of frenzy flame should have had special interactions. the "enemies" should have hailed you, Melina should have invaded you over and over again, etc. I know story wise this takes play before the Ending of Elden Ring, but did you finish the DLC? Everything and their Grandma kills you, if you survive everything in the DLC you could basically do a LVL1 run. But no, it takes place before the end. That way fromsoft doesn't have to include the endings any way. Don't get me wrong, FromSoft is my favorite Developer ever and I'll buy everything they throw out. But this wasn't a 10/10 DLC and they kinda butchered this entire area because there's nothing going on. Room for improvement.
I don't dislike this area at all tbh, the atmosphere is great and the manor is a cool dungeon. But I agree with you, the frenzied flame is my favourite ending in the game and I would've loved an area entirely inspired by its aesthetic and lore. This DLC is incredible for a first one, there's a big chunk of content for every factions in the game, but it definitely lacks focus because of that. I hope the next one (if there's a next one) will expand on one of the endings, a post Age of Stars or Lord of the Frenzied Flame oriented content would be sick. And yes I did finish the DLC before doing my No-Hit boss runs, and everything did a million damage and took forever to kill since I was already in NG+7. Before getting the Scadutree Blessings you might want to buff yourself and plan a good build, it seriously helps a lot. This DLC can be brutal ahah !
