One thing, the DR is far from India And secondly, it's really expensive to travel... Most middle class family like mine don't get enough money to fund an international travel

My guy I have visited most of these but you missed 2 that are BEAUTIFUL: 1-Bahía de las aguilas beach in pedernales 30km from Haiti. Personally the BEST beach in the caribbean after flamenco in PR 2-Lago enriquillo the biggest lake in the Caribbean and one of the few with alligators and a lot of endemic species
You are in ERROR. St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands had cable cars in the 60's or early 70's. This is before the date you gave for the Dominican Republic.
I heard from a person that lives their plus other's, the cops will pull tourist over and shake them down for cash,, plus it's a dangerous place to visit

The solenodon is algo almost in extinction because it’s endemic to Cuba Haiti and DR
same with our own little american croc, an endangered falcon, and the last remaining few solenodons on this side of the world
As a kid in 70s 80s they were common..but there were a lot fewer mongoose🤔they've decimated so many species like boas and giant skinks..kingfishers
