I'm Indonesian, but I don't know why when I hear the Philippine national anthem I feel like I'm going to a battlefield, with a rhythm like that it feels like I'm going to keep attacking the enemy even though lots of bullets penetrate my body! It's very powerful Anthem!

Originally, the composer or I think the president at that time it was created, they wanted it to sound like a military marching band. That's why the beat is like that, it's a like a marching band. A marching song.

"Indonesia Raya" or "Great Indonesia" is absolutely one of the most beautiful national anthem in the world, the rhythm fulfilled with energetic uplifting melodic 🇮🇩❤️ especially when you heard of it in the football stadium 👍🏝️

But, I think "Great Indonesia" at least expresses the similar feeling. Because the meaning of the word "raya" itself is different from the meaning of the word raya in "Indonesia Raya"

"Raya" in Indonesian (or malay as well) is commonly used to call a day of celebration (esp. a religion big event) or we can consider it as "a praying word for the existency, the glory, and the joy of our motherland"
Glory means "jaya/kejayaan" in Indonesian. But, "raya" feels more complex than "jaya"
To sum it all the 🇵🇭 national anthem is about profound and heartwarming appreciation of its land, seas and beauty. With all its never say die heroes against oppresors. And finally the people's patriotism defending its symbolic flag. And to fight for its liberty until its last breath and drop of blood ❤️🔥🇵🇭 💪
Philippine national anthem is a war-time march to bind Filipinos fighting in the battlefield to the last breath. Had it been composed in a peaceful time, it could have been a Kundiman or a ballad of what a Filipino spirit is.

Everyday we sing our national anthem and honestly sometimes I felt crying at the end of the song. Being patriotic,to die defending our motherland is in our blood.

The Indonesia Raya was "abused" at least once; I was attending the Java Jazz concert in the late 2000s. A group of musicians were coming in pretty late. The concert goers were getting impatient and a bit rowdy. So the committee got a minister of something to give a speech. The audience immediately getting more restless and booing whatsisname. But the committe had a smart idea to put on the national anthem. Lo and behold, everybody started singing, clapping hands and order was restored.
I wanna know, in your history, were you also oppressed or occupied by a western country? I mean just like here in the Philippines, we were oppressed and exploited by Spain for 300+ years from 1500+ to 1800+ and then Spain sold us to the Americans in the late 1800+, early 1900+ the Americans started exploiting us and then 1940-1945 I think, Japan also invaded us. It was tragic, our motherland Philippines has gone through a lot of hardships.
@@EricOrenciada Portuguese and The Netherlands along with English and Spanish, if I'm not mistaken, established trade in the 1500s, by the 1600s we were colonized by the Dutch (The Dutch East-Indies Company/ VOC paved the way) and in 1942 The Japanese invaded Indonesia. As I believe The Philippines had also experienced, other than massive exploitations, inequalities etc, brutalities were also present during those times. Yes, it was 300+ years for us too.
I am a Filipino, and I have a deep respect for our national anthem because it encapsulates everything essential to our nation. The anthem embodies a profound sense of patriotism, love for our country, and the willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for the liberty of our nation.
Fun fact: The Philippine national anthem was originally written in spanish called Marcha Nacional Filipina during the Philippine revolution. Then it was briefly banned during the american occupation then it was translated to English before it was translated to Tagalog that what we all know today.😊

I am from 🇮🇩 and i am so familiar with national anthem from Philippine and Thailand, i heard them a lot in Indonesian Tv indisiar on boxing programme. There were many boxer from thailand and Philippines in the programme and the anthems were sang before the first round

The Philippine anthem aounds powerful and militaristic because it was composed at the height of the Revolution against Spain and the War of Independence against the Americans. It was meant to rouse the people to fight for freedom against tyrrany and foreign domination. But before that anthem "Lupang Hinirang (Chosen Land)", there was another practically unknown de facto national anthem written at the start of the Revolution that sounds subtle and hopeful, but the lyrics are even more powerful than what we have now, the "Marangal na Dalit ng Katagalugan (Noble Hymn of the Tagalog Nation), but it would be very controversial if it had been our anthem, because other non-Tagalog Filipinos will not want and undertand its story.

The meaning of Raja Kita Selamat Bertakhta Actually so deep because in our history there one person that don't like the sistem that malaysia have and after that we hear in some of place in a one country the sultan and their family exucate and some of them now selamat bertakhta di semenanjung melaya like Negeri Sembilan Johor, right now with our sultan we prove that the sistem country have very helpfull and make rakyat feel sejahtera!

Jika kau nak claim , claim sekali lagu kebangsaan singapura , majulah singapura . Lagu dan lirik sepenuhnya gubahan zubir said , juga kelahiran sumatera . Zubir said juga banyak menggubah lagu untuk filem2 melayu era studio di singapura , khususnya untuk studio cathay keris .

The beat of the anthem, is dedicated to the provinces who fought hard against the colonizers. (Spanish, Americans, Japanese)
