I'm a day late but i was looking at that level from a distance like wait, is this Red Hot Ride? I guess the Yoshi is Rambi lol
Red Hot Ride was so frustrating to me as a kid because it took me forever to realize that you could just use Left and Right to control the balloons and wouldn't walk off. I noticed that they moved slightly if you jumped to the right, so I thought it was some janky thing where you keep jumping right and pulling back to land on the balloon again over and over.

hey the 3rd level is indeed like the Red Hot Ride level in DK2. I got stuck a long while in that level since I didn't know you can move with the hot air balloons

Big tip: you can get through a one tile sized maze like in that second level when you're big, you just gotta slip in there right. It's possible, just annoying and kind of difficult.

I liked that stage with the twisters. It makes you think there's a level, but then you are surprised when you discover the dev exit. More levels should bring fresh surprises like that.
Am I the only one who prefers to see insane reads/reflexes and very few deaths on hard but well designed levels (like that last one) than hot garbage ? (Which I kinda like to watch, I admit, but never play cause it’s not fun.)

I remember the dkc 2 level it refers to and it's actually quite similar (also it had the KONG letters), DKC 2 is the hardest of the 3 imho and just few days ago i completed dkc 3 with the secret end (felt nostalgic of the time i played it for the first time a long time ago)
Agreed, DKC 2 is much harder than one, I'm actually effected by the input delay on the Nintendo online emulator compared to playing it on my actual SNES.
@@Cheesehead302 it's also harder than 3. While DKC 3 is the best imho cause it has more stuff and interesting mechanics, it's still easier (for example in dkc 3 there's no "fake walls" where you can find bonus barrels, you can almost always tell where a bonus or dk coin is)

I think every level with a dev door/pipe/power-up should have comments of them outing them. They don't deserve people to play their levels. I wish 'Hot Garbage' was a category too, for those that hate playing them (which is most people).
