@gary jones Also when people are under pressure, they tend to make mistakes (me included), but this one is a pretty big one.
If it's beyond you then you probably don't play this game for a long time ;)
@gary jones the E100 has rather good pen on its HE, he is most likely to OS or in the worst case 2 HE to finish the tortoise.

a good tactic is if the cap has the equipment in the middle still intact you can shoot it to make it seem you drive through it to bait a shot
I really don't play arty so I'm genuinely asking: Wouldn't the arty see me firing and shoot on my position? I'm aware that arty shots are visible in that kind of scenario, aren't standard tank shots as well?
From what I know no, tank shells are not visible in arty view

well it could be reverse reverse psychology, if the arty knows about the trick but you know that he knows about the trick so you park in the middle expecting him to think it was a shell

I think a very subtle move the Tortoise made that I don't think QB noticed, that very much could have saved his life is the little forwards-backwards movement he makes at 6:19 to absorb the impact of the E100's ram. If he'd been stationary that might have killed him
It was also very nice of the enemy team to come at him one at a time toward the end. A good lesson right there.
I don't even play World of Tanks, but watching those enemies was just painful. Such poor play.
I'm trying to get back into WoT, really trying, but it's hard because the player base is so toxic. Half the time if you make a bad mistake (which happens when you have to relearn tanks and maps), as if the embarrassment of doing something stupid isn't enough, you get a hate message from some salty teeanager who takes the game way too seriously as if you let your squad down in Navy Seals training or something.
All I'm saying is, be tolerant of your fellow tankers out there, and remember that not everybody who plays the game lives and breathes it, even if your XVM shows that they have a lot of games played.
I hate those messages too, especially while in arty when your team loses. But lately in my T95 I've gotten a "Thanks for the carry" message and a "good try we let you down" message. Which kinda blew me away and makes it worth it.
@@TJTroubleMaker The problem here is that you play arty and thus ruining the game for everyone else. I never hate on players that are learning the game, but arty, oh man. Ruining the game on purpose is just beyond disgusting.

I really loved the positional introduction at the beginning where you showed off the map and the distribution of the team. You don't usually do that (especially zooming out and 'physically' showing it). It's a good insight for newer players and also for not-so beginner but statistically worse players as well. I would like to see more of this in better detail as well. Great stuff.
I can say from playing the Obj. 430 that it is indeed a monster. Repair costs are very high however, so make sure you trade efficiently. Also be sure to repair the fuel tanks if they get damaged
When sitting in a cap circle with an arty blind firing for a reset, something you can do is to use your gun to shoot down objects to bait them into thinking you are moving somewhere you are not.

I recently started a chat with a guy on enemy team who ran off a cliff when 1v5 and asked him if it was by accident. He was very surly and attitudinal with his response that basically came down to he wasn't going to be an "xp pinata". I tried to discuss the topic with him to see if logic would work. I said, what about 1v4, or 1v3, or 1v2? The point being ... you never know. He ignored that logic and tried to tell me that I didn't understand the economics of the game. I then tried to get him to explain how his repair cost was any less if he killed himself but he ignored that. I also tried to point out that even if he didn't win he would get better XP and stats to which he said he didn't care about stats. The irony at that point was too much for me to take. For the record, he had about a 47% win rate with over 30k games. I never got around to asking if he thought his defeatist attitude contributed to his poor win rate.

Quick tip: while you are capping in this kind of situation, break with a shot any object in the cap to make arty think you passed through there. You are welcome.
I think overconfidence got the better of the enemy team. They were doing so well at the start and even made our hero in the tortoise go down to low hp, but they all just wanted extra damage and didnt coordinate.
Nevertheless i thought this video was pleasant, i liked the fact he didn’t just spam gold. Gj quickybaby!
Tortoise is one of the last tanks you expect to survive a 1v8 situation
That E100 and that T49 saved him not shooting HE
True. Everybody is talking about the E100 when the T49 is also at fault for not firing HE
T49 loaded Heat because didnt know hp of tortois and he tought he can make to get behind him
actually, in these scenarios i rarely see tanks sit in the middle, always at the edges, nor do I ever see arty blind fire the middle, so as long as you don't knock anything over it's probably one of the safest spots to sit.
This video is a great reminder to myself why I don't play anymore and I'm glad for it
What you need to do in this cap situation when there is no chance of attacked(when the enemy arty is capping) is to sit at one edge of the cap circle(where he went), load the HE shells and start breaking stuff on the other side of the cap so the enemy arty thinks you're driving there.
Great game, only thing I'd have done differently as the Tortoise was when sitting in the cap, I'd have shot down a structure/tree far away from me, that usually lures the blind shots away.

E-100 decided to not angle his turret inbetween shells makes him very easy to kill too, why did he face hug the tortoise too?
There is a good reason, why artillery aimed at that point, usually those who cap, prefer to take some cover, in this case one might have taken the spot nearest to the cliffs, hoping it's a no hit zone for arty.

The tortoise was never a glass cannon, it just had weak spots. Something you won't find in the current meta
I've got a Kolobanav's Medal along with Invader in my E-25. I'm quite happy with that.

What happens when greed takes over instead of continuing to act like a team. Had they not gone in 1v1 hoping to Bogart that last kill, they would have gotten him. Stupid is as stupid does.
Torty was badly positioned at the beginning. Should have been on the right side of the arch to protect his cupola.

8:38 at this point. Currently if you under an object arty can't aim on you. Thats the reason why the SPG misses. Did you see where the shell goes ?

@@graurtudor a lot of people dont even load HE in the setup, otherwise there are a few people playing HE only. so he was lucky, but played very well also
@@Luckvieh E 100 carries a lot of ammo, so it will be just stupid not to carry several HEs. Furthermore, once i obliterated in E100 a full health Maus at mid to long distance by shooting only HE at him, while bouncing his AP and HEAT rounds.

@@Luckvieh Of course, this is stupid - the power of E100 HE shell is the same as this of the KV-2, thus they are really useful in some situations.

Honestly i wouldn’t say that the tortoise was ever a glass cannon. It had fairly okay armor which could bounce lower tier tanks pretty reliably and sometimes even big boy guns. Players who aimed penetrated it rather well, yes, but auto-aiming was still rarely a good idea. But that’s my just my opinion.

Sometimes the Gun can you let down, when you snip. But in Close Combats or Mid Ranges, the Guns of the british TDs are great. Well enough Alpha, very Good DPM and Gun Handling. You never get the feeling you lost. Yes when the get in your back, track you and so on. But ... as long as you keep Fighting, you absoult Danger for every Tank you can shoot at. Because of this very solid Guns.

Apparently enemy team doesn't know how to deal with a tortoise.
Rule #1: do not deal with tortoise alone, especially he's backed up in a corner, at which point, you can't flank him anymore.
Rule #2: gang up on tortoise, instead of letting him deal with enemy tanks one by one.
Rule #3: destroy its tracks first and then flank it. Never sit in front of tortoise.
Rule #4: if you can't flank it, avoid it. And wait for backup.
Rule #5: If you can't hit the weakpoint, then forget about shooting tortoise, you will just waste your ammo and reload time. The weakpoint of that tank (other than the side and rear armor) is very small center of the copula on the far right.

This was well played those two tanks that flanked put him in a really tough situation, but he managed to get out of it
IDK this map but actually if he stands on the other side of the arc and not the front but back arc, he may avoid being shot by the enemy and flank.
GG. Anyone recommend ditching AFE for additional repair kit? What about spall liner (and ditch med kit instead) and toolbox (ditch EGLD) on top of 2 repair kits?
All the E100 had to do is load HE and it was over.
ELC and 430 had him pinned as well, all they had to do was to wait for the ELC clip. T49 firing HEAT like a complete muppet and E-100 not knowing that High-Explosive exists.

At the start,insted of pickingthe left side of the arch way, he should've picked the right way. It will hide his weak point and let him shoot left and right (if he gets out a bit). And he wasted a lot of ammo at the start IMO.
I've seen two overbuffed tanks in this match. I totally agree that tortoise needed a buff, I went through it when it was paper and it was seriously depressing to see tier 8 not even having to aim for cupola. But on other hand, now you have to hit this pixel sized weakspot from distances! With corridor maps enemy needed to jump from rocks to flank him. Right now the cupola reminds Type 4/5 Heavy cupola, which I stopped looking at as a weakspot, because it bounces so often.
And the other one is ob. 430, who was pretty much sidescraping at 30-45 degrees and was still bouncing. I think only superheavies like Maus, E100 and Type 4/5 Heavy can do that apart from this... fast russian medium? I'm definitely not OK with fact that a tank DESTROYER needs to load gold to be even able to pen a medium at all. All the shots at him from distance that penetrated were possible only due to mistake of ob. 430 driver.
The only sad thing i saw in this replay was that he didn't use those juicy HESH rounds against the Skorpion and the Elc at all...
I quite like it because on Console, i refuse to play the Tortoise because of the cupola is made of paper and people can hit you easily at 400-500 meters. I think buffing the Hull was a mistake but the Cupola needed some love (Maybe not 280 mm) as the only way to survive is to hide the cupola and you can't always rely on the building or rock being on the right hand side.
Next Update this month on Console we will get the French Heavies and the Badger, Also the Deathstar (Unnerfed) is remaining in our Tech Tree so i'll have two tanks to grind for. I'm hoping Console get a similar buff to the cupola but keep Hull the same then i can grind the Tortoise.
yeah yeah he got a bit lucky, that the E100... bla bla bla BS! he played one hell of a great match! I always loved the Tortoise for his armor and his gun... but damn it is slow :)
Pazurre u played a great match! dont let anyone tell u otherwise! 99% of those that claim u had luck with the E100 had already shit them-selfes when they had seen a almost Full HP E100 charging at them... but U: U had the Balls of Steel to drive towards him a bit so u are able to reverse and soften the impact... than u "jiggled" ur tank so he cant hit ur weak spot... VERY VERY well played! Congrats!!!

currently one recomandation away from completing the stug 4 campaign after 3 years. Decided to skip LT15 (since i suck playinging lights). Still, doing 1K dmg unspotted or killing 2 TD's and hitting 5 seperate vehicles is difficult

Even without HE, that E-100 should have had an EASY kill. He didn't aim his shots, then he charged in and face-hugged making the shot into the cupola exponentially harder, and kept his turret facing right at the guy the entire time. The ONLY thing that idiot could have done worse would be drive at the tortoise backwards. I probably wouldn't have had HE loaded, but the first shot off I would have had that tortoise dead. Stay about 200-300ft away, pick off that cupola, and then it's GG. I watched that moment in pure awe. How could anyone manage to fail their way to tier 10 like that and still have fun?

I almost had one of these games in my 705a, it was a 3 v 8 on fisherman’s bay and they didn’t cap we would’ve won cause me and 2 tier 9 tanks where in the city crushing them. And they would just come and die, the tank that capped made the right choice though
and that my friends, is why you always bring high explosive rounds.

it might be a coincidence, but "pazur" means "claw" in polish and slovak. in czech they write "pazour"
The tortoise is better in World of Tanks than in War Thunder. In War thunder the tortoise can go up against a round called HEATFS(High Explosive Anti Tank Fin Stabilized). This round goes through the tortoises armor like butter.
That last word is my games in a nutshell.

Seeing those enemy come in 1 by 1 getting killed drives me crazy. Everytime in my T95 or T28 or Tort I'm in the back heading to the enemy just slowly seeing everyone die 1 by 1 till i get to the enemy all by myself
Lesson of the day... Don't be complacent and fire HE to secure the kill.
Everybody is talking about the lack of E100'S HE, but no one about the Heat on the T49 lol
