One of my favorite lives from him of all time. Regardless of how he looked. Which I disagree that he looked bad. Love and thanks to John Farnham for The Voice. And being a force for good in the world. Right alongside Elvis.

Ok, I came across this one a few years back when there was a full version of it with introduction of JF's achievements, nominations, awards etc. Anyway, maybe a little more background from me. I'm a kid of the 80's. For my birthday, I'm really not sure for which one but it's not important right now, I got a tape recorder. So whenever I had time to do this, I'd insert a blank tape inside, tune to a national radio station and wait. I'd push a record button every time I'd hear my favourite music. And in the 80's that really wasn't an issue. Back to the present: when I saw this particular live video for the first time I was in awe. The gradation from one single guitar player to the whole band, then the bagpipers, backing vocalists, goosebumps especially from 4:43 on. That backing vocal harmony... Oh my, every single musician on stage at that point did him justice. This is what I call a live show and I'm sure the crowd enjoyed it full time. I kind of envy every single one who attended that event. At that point I was tranferred back in my childhood 80's and my tape recorder. Sweet memories indeed.

It’s a shocker that he didn’t become huge in the US as he would’ve easily had at least a dozen top 40 hits he is that damn good. A London boy who migrated to Melbourne at age 11 and ended up becoming a national treasure and living legend of Australian music history.
Never mind the US, what about the UK, considering he was born in the UK, he should've been huge along with Vanessa Amorosi, Human Nature, John Paul Young Tina Arena and Olivia Newton John, instead we got pathetic music from the United States when the UK is not related to that country, the UK should concentrate on culture from Australia given that the UK and Australia are both Commonwealth Countries.

@@meridian2000 I noticed he only hit the UK top 40 just a half dozen times and that was between 1986 and 1988. Even other artists from all over the globe have had immense respect and admiration for John Farnham.

Still can't believe this was 20 years ago now... I watched a 2018 clip where he sang this with Celine Dion. He still has such an amazing voice.
I have loved this song ever since I heard it on the radio in the 1980s. Sat in front of the radio waiting for this song to be played so that I could eventually record it. And now I am sitting here listening to it again, still loving it so much. What a masterpiece. This song is meant for eternity.
