Love that Celine gives recognition to John Farnham....not many people can do this song justice but I love that she is a fan of John's and is still putting it out there. And also just reminds me how amazing Farhams vocals are.
Credit to who? Chris "The Voice" Thompson wrote it, and being "the voice", he, of course, sings it better than anyone else. What Farnham brought to the party was getting confused and getting all the notes wrong on "down the barrel of a gun", a mistake that propagated through many other covers, including Celine's. You need to hear Chris sing it. John Farnham is maybe the number 5 version. Maybe. Aside from getting crushed by Chris Thompson, he gets thoroughly stomped by Heart, Naturally 7, and a version Vivica recorded when she was 15.

Perfection? That would be Chris "the voice" Thompson. Once you hear Chris sing it, you realize how Farnham cheated the world out of what the song could have been.
I like how this song is rediscovered and realised it’s incredible beauty decades later. Was used inspirationally in the movie Hot Rod. It is indeed an anthem here in Australia.

Celine is an amazing woman, artist, performer and friend. The mere fact she acknowledges our John with such high praise is overwhelming. Thank you Celine for giving John such high praise and regard as he deserves and being his close friend.
The original is great too from Johnny Farnham kind of our Aussie anthem but what makes you special Celine; I love that always represent, you get this song's meaning and then make it yours too spreading the message of it further... I hope one day I see you live xx
Have been listening to this women my whole life. Is one of my mother's favourites she was always singing and playing her music around the house, in the car, at kareoke etc.

Think of any situation where you have struggled and let yourself FEEL your spirit come alive. This is the peoples voice... Its OUR VOICE! Sing your heart and soul out.
The original tone was kind of low for Celine, that's why I think she doesn't sound so powerful, despite her incredible voice. Still I loved her recognition to John and of course the song that is an anthem of música.
The song has four people on the writing credits but was mainly written by a friend of mine, Chris Thompson, (who used to do studio vocal sessions for me in London and who was a lead vocalist along with me in the Alan Parsons Band back in the mid 1990s). Maggie Ryder another session singer who did studio vocal sessions for me in London also had writing input. I last saw Maggie in New York in 1995 after our final gig at the Beacon Theatre on the Alan Parsons Band's American tour that year. Chris also moved to New York from London shortly after. We actually did this song on that tour with Chris singing lead vocals.

This outfit is everythingggg
You are absolutely right this outfit is everything. It's everything to show you that she is truly a transgender woman. Boyz II Men born a male and transgendered into a female. And this outfit proves it look at the arms long long long arms longer then a woman should be, huge hands huge head huge mouth square jaw inset eyes look at the proportion in her head you could fit two more heads on each side of her head and other words she has the widths of 3 heads yes keep looking at the shoulders now go down her torso straight down straight back straight down no chest no boobs no waist no hips straight straight straight and you think that pelvis could carry a baby no no no no no no baby in this gal or guy sorry many lies have been told to us I found out all this about four months ago and was completely horrified and disbelieving like you are right now probably cussing me out but it was proven to me a RUclipsr named Mary 40 hudna1 Michelle y and others who can prove a majority of the singers and entertainers are indeed transgendered women like Cher, Barbra Streisand Whitney Houston Britney Spears and I could go on and so could you what you sees us is the big hair always big hair and More Lies for us to digest while we love their music
I love Celine Dion
She did the song justice, and paid a good tribute to John. The part I found impressive was the guy that did the bagpipe part on the RECORDER!!! Wow!
Wow I’m an Aussie and I remember the concert where he sang it first. Amazing love you Celine and John would love you singing it . I was 15-16 and I am now 50 . It’s a hard song and only Celine could do it justice xoxwell done sweetheart
