Steve Miller I don’t know why they stopped showing the few remaining Bob episodes and Max’s series in 2015. But then again they’ve never repeated Andy Collins’ series
Steve Miller so r u saying that people didn’t really want to watch the Bob and Max episodes anymore because of the episodes being from the early to mid 80s and that the Andy episodes have low ratings?
GrimeGamer360 They never showed Andy Collins episodes. And someone from Challenge said this “We bought Max Bygraves and Bob Monkhouse Family Fortunes... and we were so excited! Then... nobody watched them... they never rated well and of course the channel is still a business so has to hit targets and make money. The Chase and millionaire... anything newer looking rates well and so of course they have to be put in more.” Sad but true, however they have been showing stuff like Weakest Link again and I do hope it stays there as it’s a modern day quiz show.
@@DanielMullins-c4s1 I did speak to Challenge TV about an issue which came up when a fellow RUclips user at the time advised me that a question had been broadcast regarding "name some famous Jimmys" in which Savile came up as one of the answers. As Central offered the programme to Challenge it is now up to Challenge to decide how they want to edit this, but I agree that it should have been edited out to avoid offending those who were abused by him as well as those other people who are easily offended.
Katie Boyle died 2018, Claire Rayner 2010, Marjorie Proops 1996, hard to believe these other celebrities are 36 yrs older, obviously Max has gone, time waits for no one.....
Series 4 was officially the first Central-produced series of Family Fortunes. It was the last presented by Bob Monkhouse, and the last to be recorded in its entirety at Elstree. Series 5 was Max Bygraves' first series. The first half was made at Elstree (in fact it was the last programme to be made there by Central) and the second half in Nottingham.
i like the opening music when old max comes down the stairs and someone goes all batshit with the violin🎻
Different class max bygraves top man sadly missed
+Daniel Mullins I think this celebrity edition of Family Fortunes was the first to come from Central's (then) new studios in Nottingham.
Thank god there wasn’t a question about the Aladdin panto and the Widow Twankey showing up as the last answer.
What is wrong with that board?! That song made me laugh
The programming on that board rivals the US version in terms of speed.
Katie Boyle died yesterday
Loved max bygraves
Has anyone noticed that #8's answers is always missing a letter?
One of the things wasn't working hence why it's always missing a letter. But it's funny though
Daniel Mullins Very funny.
did challenge ended airing some bob's Family Fortune and max's family fortunes series since 2013?
They stopped showing them in 2015

GrimeGamer360 I think it was because they got low ratings and people only want to watch the Les Dennis episodes

When did this originally air on Central? Was it a Christmas special from 1983?
Yes that’s correct
I didn't know the show was done in Nottingham
The $64,000 Question was made there as well in 1990.
WARNING - Max Bygraves made a joke about Jimmy Savile at 7:51 in this video which I believe Anne Diamond laughed off.
Thank you for the warning
@@DanielMullins-c4s1 No problems; it had really shocked me when I played this back, I have to be honest
This was aired in May or June 2012 so it was before it happened, but can easily be edited for future showings

VHS capture from May/June 2012 this is. While waiting to record the "Turkey" episode which was delayed as they missed it out.
Aha! Bob Monkhouse went out with ATV!
