If this was to comeback as a daytime show I think the Star Prize would be £10,000 for 200 POINTS or £25,000 if the TOP 5 ANSWERS were found on top of that!
I just wish Challenge would repeat the Andy Collins version of Family Fortunes seeing as they are already repeating the ALL STAR version of it & Mark Curry version of Catchphrase, be nice to see it again to compare him to Les Dennis one more time
Andy Collins tried his best must admit as it was a hard act to replace Les Dennis after 15 years. If anything rather Andy as host than Vernon Kaye as host who talks too much etc. For me my personal favourite was the one and only Bob Monkhouse
This was the only series of Family Fortunes to have a fake audience. But just after a contestant turns around to see the board for the Big Money round there is an audience (but it's still not real, of course!). Look at 21:57.
The girl seriously did a literal right turn into oncoming traffic at a roundabout during a driving lesson? How? Even people who don't drive understand how a roundabout works! Unfortunately she was blond so adds to the stereotype.
They re-used surveys from previous series. For Example, in 1995? The question "Real or fictional, name a famous dick" was on, and that question later appeared in an Andy Collins episode, with the exact same answers. They never surveyed the public, unless they happened to be in the audience, even though this is often denied by the show and ITV.
@@terratec1001 There may have been a small audience, or it wasn't unknown for an audience from an older show to be superimposed. Either way there's a lot of canned applause on this.
Andy Collins of Family Fortunes was like the Mark Curry of Catchphrase
David Fearis I thought Mark Curry was OK. Nick Wier wasn't very good though. "Welcome to CRUTCHPHRASE! I'm Nick Wier, and I'm PLASTERED!"
He was the warm up man during the Les Dennis era.
No he wasn't
@@takeitlast2915 The late Bobby Bragg who was the studio warm-up artist in the Les Dennis years of Family Fortunes.
Andy Collins from Pump It Up did his best but wasn't a match for Les Dennis, but he did do a much better job of hosting it than Vernon Kay did
Andy also hosted Games World.
He tried but obviously was hard to follow from Les

Would be a change from Les Dennis constantly also Max and Bob
Andy dances at the end.
I always wanted to be on this show, and I kept asking my parents to let us go on!
Nice he let The Edwards have a Television as well as the £84
Why did they revert back to the set, first used in 2000?
Andy Collins also hosted Games World & the children's game show Pump It Up.
these gameshows are for children and adut
and family
University Challenge viewers will identify the dulcet tones of Roger Tilling as the new Family Fortunes announcer.
why did they have familys in here
*Sigh* We have entered the death of Fortunes

....Who?
Eh?
Who......
the host says how to chance the board to get it right
If there's no audience, where did they find the 100 people they survey?

21:57 - There's the audience behind Andy and Sharon!
Although some of his shows apparently did use canned applause & laughter.
Man, 2002 sure was a year of recycling and canned audiences on ITV game shows. Catchphrase had the same thing that year when Mark Curry hosted it.

Am I the only person who doesn't like Andy as host?
+slamduck85 Probably not
+slamduck85 Bob Monkhouse was another Muppet mate theirs only 1 Les Dennis
I take it you did not like Max Bygraves either?
I don’t like him either. This episode is boring.
No you're not the only one, I found him irritating. I also found Max Bygraves irritating on this (watching the repeats on Challenge TV)
