No disrespect to Andy but the way ITV did this to Family Fortunes was completely stupid, you don't just drop from £5,000 and a chance of winning a holiday or car, to just simply a £1000 and a chance at £3,000......Big Money, Big Mistake.....
He took over from Les Dennis in 2002 to 2003. Les apparently didn't want to do it daily from a single primetime slot and would cut his wages so he quit. Then had All Star with Vernon from 2006 to about 2015. Gino started from 2020. I remember when it started in 1980 originally hosted by the legendary Bob Monkhouse until 1983. He was the master of gameshows. Followed by Max Bygraves 1983 to 85. Les Dennis was 1987 to 2002
I think it’s silly that Challenge showed the Mark Curry Catchphrase and not the Andy Collins Family Fortunes and the Bob Monkhouse ones i hope they show them soon
Les quit because ITV moved the show to daytime which means the Big Money prize being reduced and no studio audience, and he would've seen a massive pay cut on his wages. The way ITV did this to the show was stupid
To be fair, it was a short-lived hiatus, as ITV aired the remaining episodes of Les Dennis’s lasts series sporadically across 2003 and 2004, and after featuring in And & Dec’s Gameshow Marathon in 2005, it was rebooted in 2006 and it turned out to be quite successful. The format still runs.
Andy actually was already preferred him to Vernon and Gino combined. Andy knew it was a hard act to follow from Les Dennis

I don’t remember when family fortunes become a daytime show.

Hey it rare that we get to see The Andy Collins Version of Family Fortunes, magic upload I say
Do you have anymore?
no, just this one
@@John_Boen That's alright, thanks for the reply
For some reason Challenge will never show any of those particular Family Fortunes episodes.
@@analystab1 it will never be the same as the Les Dennis episodes

They have shown Bob’s episodes before- but not for a long time- I think I last saw them around 2014-15
Why did Les Dennis leave and not finish being the host for the rest of the 2002 shows

The point where Family Fortunes died
