The largest difference I noticed was in how Steve approached Rick near the end of 18 compared to the beginning. He realized Rick gets in his own head with the numbers and adjusted how he approached him. I think if they worked together Rick and Steve could make a run at the pro level. Rick has all of the tools, just needs to get out of his own head.
@@KasFromMass I don't believe that's entirely true about other pro golfers but I do agree your point. That's why I said Rick has to get out of his own head. He has the tools needed to shoot 3 to 5 under par consistently. Once he started trusting Steve and his own abilities he played some really good golf.
@@KasFromMass I understand that, but I don't think tour pros hit 10 under at a tour course when the pressure is off. Some guys play better when the pressure is on. They are amazing and they would destroy my local 9 hole I play on. All I'm trying to say is Rick has all of those same tools. He has a 300+ drive, he has all the tools. I think Rick's downfall is the inability to trust in himself when it matters (he Also can't read a green). That's why I said Steve and Rick could make a run at the tour. Rick shot 2 under the first time he ever had a Caddie. Imagine if he built a relationship and trust in him. He would be 6-7 under par.

Folks, when I've had the opportunity to play some great courses like Pebble, Spyglass, all of the Bandon tracks, Seaside at Sea Island, and Streamsong Blue and Red, I have always made it a point to walk the course with a caddie. You'll also end up with clean clubs after the round is over - LOL. It's worth it - you're welcome! :) Rick - great video. Steve was great to listen to.
Loved this! I’d like to get close ups of your yardages you told him and then rewatch. I’d also suggest expounding upon the analysis of what you need to work on. Maybe do a cut and paste on what went wrong and how you missed the distance. Thirdly -how to calculate the yardage in wind. Rick- Ben watching you for last 2 years - this might be the best video for course management that you have done. Cheers from US-Nashville TN. Stay safe and healthy.
I normally get my Mrs to push the trolley round but after watching this I’m going to make sure she cleans my clubs in between use as well. Cheers Rick and Steve

I think if they worked together Rick and Steve could make a run at the pro level. Rick has all of the tools, just needs to get out of his own head.
He hit 2 under with no pressure and no crowds. A tour pro would hit 10 under in the same situation almost every time.
@@KasFromMass I don't believe that's entirely true about other pro golfers but I do agree your point. That's why I said Rick has to get out of his own head. He has the tools needed to shoot 3 to 5 under par consistently. Once he started trusting Steve and his own abilities he played some really good golf.
@@josephhowell9341 Not a hit on Rick, it’s that I am saying tour golfers are freaks of nature.
@@josephhowell9341 all good stuff you say, the fringe-in is always the difference between a tour pro from the rest. I am only saying it’s a Gift and no amount of practice will get someone to that level if they are not born with it.
“This is for 69” -rick. “That’s my favorite number” -steve😂😂
I want to like but it’s at 69 likes 😂
"It's nice being told what to do"......Rick, don't you have a wife?
He taught you some things, or he took into consideration some things you wouldn’t have seen. I think your golf score may be better in the future.
That's a world class looper right there. I need him in my life every time I golf lol
This is one of the best golf videos on RUclips right now. It is amazing to see how caddies work and the relationship they share with the player, awesome video
Thanks Austin 👍🏻
Mad respect for this Caddy. The notes, research, and the time to go out first thing and walk the course with yardages. Insane.
Steve says, “That’s my favorite number” as Rick says 69
Am I only one that screamed “YES” when he made the par save on 17?
God I hope so
Sam Boulden you just made die out laughing
Yeah, everyone else is normal.
Your game looks a lot sharper,is it don’t let yourself down or the caddy.
Folks, when I've had the opportunity to play some great courses like Pebble, Spyglass, all of the Bandon tracks, Seaside at Sea Island, and Streamsong Blue and Red, I have always made it a point to walk the course with a caddie. You will play more relaxed as you will have confidence in your yardages, and local knowledge on the greens on courses like these (and anywhere) is priceless. You'll also end up with clean clubs after the round is over - LOL. It's worth it - you're welcome! :)
Rick - great video. Steve was great to listen to.
I like how genuine Rick is when asking for advice and accepting the critique. So many people can't take advice. Cheers for sharing.
Then the guy wouldn't have a job! "If you're good at something, never do it for free."
I normally get my Mrs to push the trolley round but after watching this I’m going to make sure she cleans my clubs in between use as well. Cheers Rick and Steve
When I play in scrambles with someone who knows the course, and they tell me exactly where to hit the shot or aim the putt, I feel so much confidence I always play better. Wish I had a knowledgeable caddie all the time.
That was one of the more informative golf videos I've ever seen. I would love to see how he's breaking those holes down and figuring out his game plan
Absolutely brilliant video. Makes you realise how much we need to take into consideration factors such as wind and direction when we play,
I really enjoyed watching, this caddy is amazing! Just wondering, what new insights did this give you? Did it for example change things in your strategy when playing a round?
Only just got round to the podcast of why you quit tournament golf... clearly all you need is a bit of distance work and a caddy?? 🤷🏼♂️ get Guy working on the bag? 🤣
“69 my favourite number” 😂😂 classic
"it feels good to be told what to do"...specially when the one telling you what to do is an experienced professional. Love this videos!!! Keep'em going!! I just can't believe how much depth and complexity is behind every club selection. Just outstanding!! The best part is how he adpats to every second shot in order to help recover bad drivers. That just blows my mind. I really need to change my mentality from now on.
I really like being able to hear the kind of conversations that go on between the golfer and caddy, it's quite interesting.
"It's nice being told what to do!"
I'm married, I'm used to being told what to do! lol
I love how many times you went to check your watch, and then realized you had a caddie to tell you your distance 😂
Ah there’s a golfer in there! Steve’s right need to smooth it out a little. Tend to hit everything full pelt. Great round though
I’m more of a hobby golfer but seeing what a caddy goes is absolutely amazing. This was so cool to watch.
This was my favourite vid. Just goes to show how important it is for us high handicappers to channel our "internal caddy". Nice one!
I don’t know how I would react when my caddie says “finally a golf shot”
I know in my case Steve would not feel the urge to say it.
"Finally a golf shot!" Rick turns around with that face hahaha 😂
Rick “We don’t want any Bogeys on the card”
Me “I’d take a bogey or two now for the card”
This has been my favorite video from you, Rick! Steve is very knowledgeable about the game of golf, and it was fun to watch you play with his expertise to back you up.
the amount of research and analysis of the course was incredible. He is really operating like a support team
