- This is my first video guys! It is me making glitter Wine glasses.
Materials I used to create...very fine glitter, Mod Podge, 651 Oracle vinyl, foam paint brushes, and alcohol to clean off glasses.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your first youtube video. Much success to you. I've used a variety of tapes and find that the electrical tape is the best. It can stretch a little bit if you need to maneuver around round surfaces with it also. Painter's tape tends to rip in pieces as you see and leaves a stickier residue if you leave it on too long, even though it'll be washed again before use. I've also used water in the glass to mark the level where I want to tape off at. Thank you again for sharing. You have a smart son.
I need to see a new video and updated glasses. This was hilarious😂😂😂
So happy I found your channel! Can't wait to try this and see what other videos you have. Thanks for showing how easy it was to make these. They turned out beautiful!
So sweet, thank you!
Loved this . Easy to follow . Not all these crazy products like some people have .
Thanks!
Thanks so much for a super easy tutorial! Hopefully my new hobby while we are still stuck working from home ❤️
I LOVE the tip about the slits in the transfer paper!!!🤯 That just saved me a lot of frustration, because I’m the same with patience! Lbvs Thank you for sharing!
I think you did a great job, I never would have known it was your first.
Thank you!
Thank you for this vid, it was helpful! Just a tip, if you cut lines in the transfer tape before applying to the wine glass, its easier to lay the decal down flat.
Thanks, I now do that, very helpful.
Love..Love..Love..Thanks for sharing..
Ahh, thanks!
Im always gonna call it modge ponge. ADORABLLLE!!!😄
Great Job.. I was Nervous My 1st Video as Well.. Thz 4 being very detailed as Well.. Good Luck with Everything
I’m so glad I found your channel. For a first timer you did a great job. I like the idea that you left the tape on until the end. I watched so many videos and everyone said remove the tape after the first layer. So what do I do remove the tape. The lines didn’t come out straight and had to fix all of them. Next time I’m doing it your way. Love the gold color!
Oh by the way tell your son thank you for inspiring you to make the video! 😊
Great job for the 1st time. Awesome.
Great job Lisa
Beautiful glasses! TFS!
Thank you!! I'm having a party and wanted to do this for some of my ladies!
You got a new follower great job was looking to see how to do the wine glass glitter without epoxy so thanks 😊
You did an awesome job, for the first time. Your video was short, informative and direct... would love to see more ideas you have. Great idea! Thanks!
thank you, that was awfully sweet! I am working on 2 now. Crazy school days, soon as Christmas break starts, I plan on some more! Thanks!
Yessss, straight to the point! No excessive talkin! U did a great 👍 job!
Looks awesome 👌
I enjoyed your video! Thank you ! Just a tip, try using rubber bands instead of the blue sticky paper... the thicker and wider rubber bands...
Thank you..I have been brainstorming how to do this.. blessings
Thanks!! I used electrical tape the last few times, so much better! I'll try the rubber bands too.
P?,"
Going to try your method
I use the painters tape too but when I do the first coat of glitter I go ahead and pull the tape off soon as I’m done - don’t let it dry and on the second coat of mod podge and glitter I’m very careful with the glue and keeping my line straight when applying it. Also, for my final seal I don’t use mod podge. I use triple thick gloss glaze and it has to dry for 24 hours and I do three layers (has to dry 24 hours each layer - do am thin layers).
BEAUTIFUL
Great job!!!
Thank you for sharing
I found that if you score your tape line with an exacto knife, after the modge podge is completely dry, the tape comes off with ease.
What do you mean score?
You should do a video on how to place the decals on the glass ☺️ Love this video
Dang it. I leave tomorrow for a girls trip and we are painting wine glasses. If I saw this a while ago we would have totally done it! So cute! Wonderful 1st video!! 😆
I've been thinking about making a channel w/my daughter. Hey, us mom's can do this too, lol. I will be watching to see how it goes. Good Luck & great job!!!!
awesome job!
New subscriber here and you just gave me an awesome idea for Valentine’s Day ❤️ Thank you and you did awesome!
Thank you:) So sweet!
Oh wow thesis amazing. Am gonna try that.
😅 it took me 10 seconds to love you. My son doups me into all kinds of activities and foolishness on snow days. Great job!
So sweet! The things we do, right?! LOL
you did really good with this vid thanks for sharing
Thank you!
New subbie! I'm going to try this for me and my sisters next girls weekend. Also, I'm an NC girl , too!! Lol!!
They were so much fun to have with us!! Have fun:)
Nice idea I think I will try for Christmas gifts thanks
Loved the video
So after 1 coat of modge pudge , then glitter then modge pigeons again then it gets dry
Just a wee suggestion to help you....when pulling off the tape, pull it AWAY and down from the glitter edge. There will be less chance of the glitter pulling away from the edge with the tape. Hth! :)
Girl Everytime you said modge podge I got stressed lol they came out great and congradulations on starting your channel
Too funny! I get stressed now, I have had so many people tell me how to say it, LOL. Thanks!
Sammmme!!! I just muted & let it be just visual 4me 🤯
I think its adorable!
@@katherinerosemore274 maybe i was a little hard... thank u for your response
I have always called it modge podge. Probably still will cause mod podge sounds weird to me lol
I use regular masking tape and the clear packaging tape that's what I have in Jamaica.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
What size did you use for your decal?
Very nice
This looks so awesome. These are perfect for a girls night, Thank you for sharing this beautiful tutorial with us.~ katz baugh (I use my husbands iPad to watch videos)
Use the white masking tape it won't stick as much. I do wine glasses an mugs with that tape easy release. I will do a video to show you
Thanks, I actually like electrical tape, so much easier:)
If you seal the glitter with mod podge you can wash and the glitter doesn’t come off?
You did a great job!
What made you think there would be bubbles in the mod podge?
love going to make these
Can you put a strong clear coating of some sort over the glitter to make sure the glitter doesn't eventually come off in the dishwasher or hand-washing? Just to seal it up
Yes! There is a dishwasher safe mod podge you can purchase at most craft stores! Good luck! It's fun to make!!
Great Job welcome to you tube!
The only thing I didn't likw is whwn you put on your final modge podge it doesn't shine that much anymore. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong
That has happened to me before, go super light!! There is a spray clear coat you can do too, just be careful of the top:)
Frog Tape is great too
Nice ! Instead of modge podge could you use epoxy ?
I use the black tape and change the tape after each time I mod podge--help and wont pull the glittler--just saying
If I don’t use the expoxy can the glitter still wash off ?
I have a question... does the glitter wash off after many washes???
NICE!!! :)
Thanks for the video!! Does it need to dry between coats of glitter?
Yes, about 8 hours I believe, but I did overnight the first time I did.
How did you seal your last coat did you only use the glue
I'm on Amazon, right now, which cricket dye machine did you buy?
I do the bottom of mines it just make them pop more.
Buenas tardes.donde se consiguen estos apliques o letras .
How long do you wait in between coats ?
I sealed with Modge Podge and the glitter became dull and looked like paint. I had to end up doing another coat and glittering and using a spray sealant.
We’re do you get the tape with the design to put on glass
I made the decal with a cricut machine. You can order decals from etsy as well. The tape is from home depot:)
I really enjoyed your video. Going to try making some for Christmas. Do you put a sealer on the vinyl after you apply it. If not, am I able to handwash the glasses without the vinyl coming off?
Thanks! I apply one last coat of mod podge, there is a dishwasher safe version I believe, I have not used though. I will try that next time. I hand wash and have not had a problem. Have fun, they easy once you jump right in!!
thanks of sharing, good job. Which glitter you use?
Extra fine glitter from Michaels, not sure of brand. I think any extra fine craft glitter would work
thanks for sharing new subscriber here
Me inscrevi!👏👏👏
After applying the first two sets of mod podge and glitter and letting dry, what do i put on to seal glitter
I applied a very light coat of mod podge to seal. There is a dishwasher safe one too. There is also a spray epoxy I found at Michaels, but you have to cover the glass portion fully. I bought it, but have not used yet on glass, but has sealed nicely on everything else I have used. I personally now don't do a final coat of mod podge anymore, I like the finish better, but you have to handwash.
Great video. I gave it a go but I think I need to use different pens - the posca ones are quite hard to see! @
Chanelle Louise it was super helpful
good luck! hope to see more...
Thanks, working on them these days:)
Do you normally make the marker lines before you apply the tape?
yes, need those for straight lines:)
Do you remember the name of the font you used on the glasses? Nice
You did a great job! Where did you get the decals.
Hello I just was trying to make a glass for a friend worried about the glitter coming off while washing how long will it last with just the mod podge sealer
Had mine for a year now and all good with hand washing, but you can use dishwasher safe mod podge too for sealer.
Can you post a pic if how it looks now
And do it feel crunchy
@@lilliantemple2670 it does dull slightly, you can put extra coat on and be safe with the last glitter. I go very, very mild on the last coat of mod podge sealer
Or you can pull the tape off before the glue dries completely
If you do, it smears, I would wait until dry
Can you help me out with the writing you had on the glass .... I don't have a clue how to get it done
I use a cricut machine to cut vinyl that stick onto the glass. Do you have a machine that cuts? Like a cricut?
Tfs☃️
hello, these look great. where did you get you glasses from?
Thanks, Target (I buy a 4 pack:)
I bought mine from Wal-Mart, 88 cents for one glass, also dollar tree has them for $1.
Target, Dollar Tree, Walmart all have cheap wine glasses:)
When it comes to the vinyl what color do i need to get. The event I am doing is gold red and black.
Totally ip to you, I like the gold, looks pretty on the glass:)
One tip- these will not be dishwasher or hand washing safe. Regular Mod Podge isn't. You need to use dishwasher safe Mod Podge or use epoxy or another sealer to seal that glitter and glue in so it doesn't get water damage :)
How to make wedding bottles
Thanks, will use as well, but I hand wash and haven't had a problem, they still look great a year later:)
Does dishwasher safe mod podge actually work?
Bom dia ! O que passar no final para o glitter não sair ?
👏
How long does it take for it to dry?
On my hubby's RUclips but how long do you wait between drying? -Jay
I usually wait 4-6 hours minimum:)
Are you using a transfer paper? If so what kind?
Yes, I use a no name brand off amazon, do not know the name, I usually buy a huge roll thats on sale. Cricut brand is good, but very sticky.
@@CarolinaCreativeChick awesome. Thank you
You did an amazing job!!! What kind of vinyl did you use, if you don't mind me asking? Keep up the great work, looking forward to watching more videos.
guess I need to make more videos, its been awhile:) I use 651 oracle vinyl
Nice! Where did you get the glitter?
Michaels or any crafts store. Be sure to get the extra fine glitter, makes all the difference!
Theres a glitter store called Mr. Nolas Glitter (they have a Facebook page) their glitter is AMAZING
Where do you get the sticker decals made? And are they expensive?
She made them herself she said she made it in her design space with the cricut
Is there a way to ensure the vinyl doesn't come off when washing?
I use 651 vinyl, you can seal with a dishwasher safe modge podge. I hand wash and do not have any problems
Are you using permanent vinyl?
Yes, 651 :)
Where can i get vynil that small? For glases....
usually etsy sells decals, I made mine with cricut machine
Nice,do you sell them
Thank you. I don't, I just make for fun!! Try it, they aren't that hard to do once you jump in:) If not, try etsy!
Carolina Creative Chick Why haven’t you considered selling them/getting them on the market?
@@brsugarbabe I would love to, but mom of 2 busy boys and full time elementary teacher, don't think I have time to dedicate, so I just do for fun and for my friends:)
Is theses glasses washable??
Yes, as long as you seal wth dishwasher safe mod podge.
Lisa Schilling thank you so much
Which dimension for the letters did you use?
I want to try but mine will say Hello 40
I usually measure the group of font together, and measure the glass. These were about 3" wide and 2.5" tall (as a group of text).
Does the glitter stay on when you wash it ???
Yes, just handwash:)
So I dont have to use epoxy??!!!!❤❤❤
I didn't, just mod podge:)
Nope! You can even seal with a clear setting spray that can be found at any hardware store, hobby lobby, etc.
Hello ,, what site did u used to put words on the glasses ..
I used the cricut website, design space.
Hi,
What alcohol do you use to clean off the glasses ? and how do you do that bit.
Going to try this. Thanks :)
Regular rubbing alcohol or even windex works. Just use a paper towel and you are good to go!
Does anyone know how to seal the vinyl so that way you can't feel it on the glass?
Maybe look up videos that deal with resin on cups?
where or how did you get the decal vinyl?
ijebary ijebary I created with the Cricut machine. I use 651 oracle vinyl. You can order decals on Etsy.
How big was your decal ?
I would say about 2" tall and about 3" wide (estimate). I use a fabric tape measure to get an idea before I cut it out. Hope that helps:)
Where do you get the decals from?
I make them with the cricut machine using vinyl:) You can order decals from etsy too if you don't have a machine.
