I have been looking for an affordable projector for my room speaking for myself as a 16 year old. I really wanted to make sure that I wasn’t making any wrong choices out of the massive and misleading variety of projectors they have. *also I am very suspicious over how RUclips knew what I was searching on my Amazon* but it is beneficial for me anyway. So if I couldn’t trust myself with finding the right project I’d appreciate the help of a random dude whose done his research. Thanks for your help man! 😂
RUclips knew what you were searching by using what is called "cookies". Cookies are data collected by your web browser when you search for things. Thats why when you google something, suddenly you start seeing ads for what ever you were looking up. Its nothing new and most website do it.
Bro... I THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!! I'm looking for a cheap "get by for now projector" and your really helped me navigate through all the BS. Thanks again. You Rock!!!!
I agree, I found the distributor on AliBaba and even considered ordering a large batch and selling them myself, but after doing a little back of the napkin math even at $99/each I'd make less than $2 per projector... So I have no idea how the original Amazon seller made any money selling them for under $60 (I bet they didn't, and that's why they are unavailable now).
Thanks! Interestingly my RUclips analytics data shows that people are more likely to watch the ad if there is a progress bar. I imagine it's a psychological thing like "oh, that progress bar is moving fast, it's not even worth skipping through this".
It's sold out, hopefully it will be back in stock soon. The Wimius was also a strong contender, but I paid more for it ($89), than I did for the Victsing ($58).
I gave him a chance, as I thought I could always return it. Received the Victsing this afternoon and I can't believe how bright it is. The keystone is crap but having had 2 expensive projectors in the past, I can't get over this one - They've come a long way!
At the start of the pandemic I bought a cheap, native 1080p projector for around 80 quid. Quite simply the best piece of tech bought to get me and my family through the months of lock-down. We wanted to keep the living room TV free as we have other TV / play rooms but having sports, films and even stuff like video calls the full size of the wall was pretty amazing for the last two years. What was going to be a "temporary gimmick" ended up being a stable feature in the room for 2 years. And that's really the beauty of these cheap and cheerfull projectors - regardless of the real quality, they still offer that wow factor to the majority of normies / kids. The bad side of these things is that once you like the projector experience ... well its an itch you want to scratch with more potent kit.
Thanks a LOT for this video! We're planning a family movie night in the backyard before my stepdaughter goes to college, and this helped me narrow down my search immensely.

Awesome video! I've been looking into getting a small preferably low budget projector, and this is totally what I needed! A quick question though! Have you looked into the Cinemood mini projectors? They seem decent, but I haven't been able to find any comparisons between them and others, only the promotional videos. If you have any thoughts on this brand of mini projectors that would be awesome, or if you have any interest in doing a comparison video there are holiday sales on the projectors at the moment. Thanks for your time!
This was a super super helpful video with great direct projection-quality comparisons!! You made it super easy for me to choose my next budget friendly projector😊
been looking for my first ever entry level projector and out of the nearly 50 youtube videos i've watched yours outclasses every other by such a distance great work and video format my man
Thank you soooooo much. This is the best way of explaining differences between products! The only problem is I can not find your top of the line product “VICTSING MINI PROJECTOR” any where in Amazon or other stores?
Interesting question/suggestion! You could but you’d have to find a replacement led that exactly matches the Videochars one and you’d probably have to use your soldering iron to install it.
@@TheHookUp thanks for the great video. Yea probably not worth the hassle. However, I am still curious as to the internals. The higher pixel density probably requires a more powerful led to achieve similar ansi levels.
Thank you so much for this review. There was one thing that I do wish you would have covered: the fan noise of these projectors. Was there much of a difference between them? I would imagine so.
@@DunderKlomp Yeah, not gonna happen. Not only is that a shady thing for anyone to do, but it's also a violation of their return policy which can result in suspension of an Amazon account. Getting your Amazon account suspended might not be a big deal for some people, but losing my Amazon affiliate revenue would be crippling.
Thanks for the great review but how did these perform regarding noise? I bought a cheapo projector a couple of years back and it's fab for Halloween decorations but too much fan noise for watching a movie. Also, how about using 3 for a cheapo wrap around flight/racing sim cockpit.......
This is great timing, with Halloween coming up. A couple of years ago I purchased a collection of “Eerie Eyes” animations from Atmosfx and have one projector I throw on the inside of my front room windows, works great! But I'd love to add more windows.
Thank you for this video! So informative, straight to the point, and educational! So sad that online shopping is so dominated by these lying dropshippers.
Thanks for the informative review... Here's what I've learned. I recently purchased a £130 budget Philips LED projector, my first impressions were, it had good connectivity options and a relatively crisp picture, up to eighty inches on clear walls or a screen. Ideal for (ceiling mounted) smaller room environments. However pails significantly in performance, when comparing it to my larger 8000 lumen laser projector in the lounge. The Philips LED projector doesn't fair so well in overall image vibrancy and quality. Made even worse, by it's lame vertical keystone correction, that leave the edges blurred and text often unreadable. All of these budget projectors come with built in speakers, however they do need audio amplification to enjoy a movie. The cheaper models typically suffer synchronisation lag in video/audio, when media is being streamed to the projector via wireless connection. In conclusion: You get the 'performance' you're willing to pay for, sometimes less, scarcely more! 😉
Great review, I was also looking for a cheap projector just to project stuff on my ceiling. But I also wanted it to be as low noise as possible. I have two other "normal" projectors (DLP ones, 1080p) and they are no problems when you watch movie or playing games with sound going thru your 5.1/7.1 audio system. So anyway, if you do this again (v2 of the review? :-) it would be really nice to have the noise levels on them also. I guess they all have a fan for cooling right?
@@comrieengbers4075 I have actually not bought one yet. As I said I have 2 projectors 1080p full size (and a bit noisy :-)... But want a quiet one (either a large fan, or fan less) 480 or more resolution to project something (movie, stars, picture and so on :-) in my bedroom... Soo still looking... I'm thinking I'll maybe modify one that does 720p to quiet mode with a computer water cooling system or something.
This earned a sub. I've been laughing at the shocking lies made by cheap Chinese projector sellers for ever. I recently wondered after not looking for a couple of years if any actual bargains had arrived. At least they seem viewable these days! Was not always so.
Thank you for the comparison. This is my first purchase of a projector which I want to use as part of a competition Christmas display. I will either use it on my garage door opening or front living room window without spending a lot of money to start. I have little knowledge in their operation but love the concept of the moving images which I haven't seen used in previous competitions and am willing to learn. :)
Thank you for making this video. I am a novel with projectors and was thinking what specific too look for in purchasing my first projector. This video gave made me more confident and knowledgeable on what to look out for details.

Dude you are incredible. Very comprehensive and well researched video. Thank you so much for taking so much time, money and effort to test these projectors. God bless you for being such a blessing
I bought the Victsing and the VideoChars based on your recommendations. I think that the VideoChars both the brick and the PJ seem to run pretty hot compared to the Victsing. I also found that the VideoChars would skip alot and struggle to play some of my AtmosFX files, whereas the Victsing would do just fine with the same USB & files. Also realized that I bought the 12V one for the same reason, being outside, but I have to run an extension cord halfway out the yard for the PJ anyway, so kind of defeats the purpose? Was going to return it and get another Victsing, but looks like you guys bought them all up. :) Guess maybe I'll try out the Wimius. Great video, as always. Thanks!
For me I'm running the VideoChars off of my 12V 40A power supply that also runs my 12V LED props, so I don't have to have an extension cord, just a long 15awg wire from the PSU to the projector box. I did notice that the brick runs hot, it's running very close to its max rating (which I think is 3A). My power meter showed the video chars at 42 watts, and 12x3 is only 36 watts. At 80% efficiency (typical for a SMPSU) 42*.8 = 34 watts... so it's pulling every bit of juice it can out of that PSU.
@@TheHookUp That makes sense, I'm sure I have a beefier PS laying around that I might try. Also my issue with video skipping and not playing right was most likely just not liking that particular USB drive. Good SD card worked flawless.
I bought an Elephas projector which has "HD capable" all over the marketing... and turns out to be natively 720p. But it can *play* HD content (by downscaling it). So not a good start. It had a few other difficulties too, like a line-out 3.5mm audio socket which wouldn't connect properly with a cable unless you actively pressed the connector in. A big elastic band solved that, looks stupid but works. Chromecast (and Fire stick) gets randomly disconnected so it's useless for streaming. On the other hand, the projector works fine with a USB stick and it gets a lot of use. Audio and video quality is fine. The audio-only playback (mp3 player) has a bright blue "dancing frequency bars" fixed theme which makes it useless for night-time bedroom use. There is a timer function for auto-shutdown which *is* useful for bedtime watching. So a mixed bag, but broadly okay for my usage. Unreliable Chromecast connection is the biggest failing. Oh, and the cooling fan is starting to get rattly after a year of use.
@@GuillaumeLavoie Nah, that would be a scummy thing for me to do. I only return things if they are legitimately garbage, like the Swann NVR package where 3 of the cameras broke while I was installing them... No regrets on that one.
This is a great video on cheap end projectors. Thank you very much for your hard work. Most reviews on RUclips on these projectors are worthless because the reviewers know nothing about video technology or projection. But this one I watched all the way to the end :)

Thank you for all the time and energy you spend on such detailed reviews. Hours and hours of research for what I need Im at a loss on what the best affordable projector to use on m y small porch, limited covered space to project a fake back yard view. I lived on the Beach and now I’m not , and dying with the view of nothing but a fence, the neighbors house top and dying grass in this heat! I want to pretend out of my living-room window, I have a beach by projecting onto my shades from the outside. I bought a $150 on sale projector I’m returning because it’s too complicated to use with iPhone or connecting to scenes on prime streaming. I would buy a memory stick if I could find a few scenes to buy to put on them and skip the casting all together as this is all this projector will do. I wish they made mini cordless ones that were simple for such a project. Needs and a really short throw of 4 feet or less that is even possible. I KNOW NOTHING about this other than my reading and watching you. Please help. Miserable with out a view till I can afford to fix the back yard.
That was an educational 12 minute session. Thanks Hookup, you made me navigate away from already preset models, to choose something cheaper and better. Very well explained, great educational touch 😊

It's unfortunate that after watching your amazingly detailed video, the winning projector is no longer available on Amazon :(
I agree, I found the distributor on AliBaba and even considered ordering a large batch and selling them myself, but after doing a little back of the napkin math even at $99/each I'd make less than $2 per projector... So I have no idea how the original Amazon seller made any money selling them for under $60 (I bet they didn't, and that's why they are unavailable now).
@@TheHookUp Check Walmart. It is being sold there as of today
@@brettr876 what’s the name of the winning projector?
Still being sold on UK Amazon :)
@@chieftaixi5241 I’m looking for one as well
just wanted to say i love that you add the progress bar for the sponsored portion! Great touch on the video
Thanks! Interestingly my RUclips analytics data shows that people are more likely to watch the ad if there is a progress bar. I imagine it's a psychological thing like "oh, that progress bar is moving fast, it's not even worth skipping through this".
So, the Victsing 720p Native is unavailable on Amazon. Awkward.
How much was it? Should we seek out the runner up, or wait for Vickie to come back?
It's sold out, hopefully it will be back in stock soon. The Wimius was also a strong contender, but I paid more for it ($89), than I did for the Victsing ($58).
@@TheHookUp Wimius went up to 106.99…..Disqualified for this list under $100?
Dude this was literally the most epic review of anything I've ever seen 😭
"Since you can't trust the listings and your cant trust the reviews, hopefully you can trust this random guy on RUclips" .. love it :P
I gave him a chance, as I thought I could always return it. Received the Victsing this afternoon and I can't believe how bright it is. The keystone is crap but having had 2 expensive projectors in the past, I can't get over this one - They've come a long way!
Great video. Wish there was RUclipsrs like you for every single product
Thanks!

But how can I make my saw torture games if I can by a lot of projectors. It adds up, I may be a murderer but these prices are killer
@@abbiesmith5243 I just googled it because I'd never heard of them... They are under 50 lumens and seem WAY overpriced, I'd stay away.
CiBest advertises their products as 500 ANSI but when this guy tests them, they turn out to be 240 ANSI. good work man!
This was a super super helpful video with great direct projection-quality comparisons!! You made it super easy for me to choose my next budget friendly projector😊
been looking for my first ever entry level projector and out of the nearly 50 youtube videos i've watched yours outclasses every other by such a distance great work and video format my man
Thanks! Glad it was helpful.
Great information! Now do a video on the best methods to create and use a holiday projector.
That one is coming next.
Thank you soooooo much. This is the best way of explaining differences between products! The only problem is I can not find your top of the line product “VICTSING MINI PROJECTOR” any where in Amazon or other stores?
I wonder if you could upgrade the videochars LED?
It’s worth an attempt for the content alone.
Interesting question/suggestion!
You could but you’d have to find a replacement led that exactly matches the Videochars one and you’d probably have to use your soldering iron to install it.
@@Conservator. Hopefully the LED is a standard dimension. You can buy a daily powerful 12v led for under $10.
You'd also need to upgrade the power supply and cooling. The videochars pulls 42 watts already, so that's a pretty powerful COB LED cluster.
@@TheHookUp thanks for the great video.
Yea probably not worth the hassle.
However, I am still curious as to the internals. The higher pixel density probably requires a more powerful led to achieve similar ansi levels.
You took ALL the guesswork out of making a decision. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this review. There was one thing that I do wish you would have covered: the fan noise of these projectors. Was there much of a difference between them? I would imagine so.
This is the kind of reviewer i need more often!
Thank you! I would like to see another video comparing projectors in the MID-LEVEL $400-ish price range. That would be GREAT!
I'll do a midlevel range one if this video does well. Otherwise $4000 is a pretty large investment for a flop video :)
@@TheHookUp You could just return them!
Victsing no longer available, is there another one as good as it available now?
This was the best projector comparing video I ever saw. I hope you will do a higher budget video in the future. For example $200 - $300. Great work 👍
The only RUclipsr I've seen with a time bar on their sponsorship ad.. that's a like right there 😂😂
Thanks for the great review but how did these perform regarding noise? I bought a cheapo projector a couple of years back and it's fab for Halloween decorations but too much fan noise for watching a movie. Also, how about using 3 for a cheapo wrap around flight/racing sim cockpit.......
Just what I was thinking!
Sorry I missed this comment. I'd say they are all pretty equal except the Yaber V3 which is VERY loud.
@@TheHookUp how does the fan noise of these compare to the Nexigo you reviewed in the $100-200 range?
unfortunately the Victsing projector is sold out on amazon now. Do you know what the model name is for that projector?
This is great timing, with Halloween coming up. A couple of years ago I purchased a collection of “Eerie Eyes” animations from Atmosfx and have one projector I throw on the inside of my front room windows, works great! But I'd love to add more windows.
Thanks random guy on RUclips your money well spent 💕
Thank you for this video! So informative, straight to the point, and educational! So sad that online shopping is so dominated by these lying dropshippers.
Thumbs up for these budget projectors. They are not only budget projectors but also feature-rich projectors.
Very fair comparison and systematic. Thanks Chief. Cheers from Indonesia.
Do you have a link to the videos you use for your Halloween displays?

@@TheHookUp thank you, and thanks for doing this analysis video! Incredibly helpful.
THANK YOU I've been looking through projectors and I haven't found any reliable reviews on these
Great review, I was also looking for a cheap projector just to project stuff on my ceiling.
I guess they all have a fan for cooling right?
if you're actually looking for a good cheap projector, look for a used one
Have you found any that are quiet enough to watch movies in your room and project 720p +?
I'll have a video about it coming next week so make sure you're subscribed ;)
Thank you for making this video. I am a novel with projectors and was thinking what specific too look for in purchasing my first projector. This video gave made me more confident and knowledgeable on what to look out for details.

Conclusion - dont trust random companies but do trust random guys on internet...
Are the edges of the Victsing blurry or have a lot of reflection? I have a Meauro mini projector and I’ve recently been having problems with that.
Most objective, honest and comprehensive review I've seen on RUclips. It's all we want. Thanks. Subscribed.
So its dad really can beat up my dad.. damn
Any chance for a redux? Looks like both recommendations are no longer available.
Perfect timing! Thank you so much.
This is GREAT! Thank you so much for taking the time and money to do this!!
Great video. Would love to see this on sub 300$ projectors (native 1080p) I have the Vankyo V630W which while not perfect its decent for the price
That sounds expensive! Haha, I’ll consider it if this video does well.
@@TheHookUp amazon has a great return policy 😉
@@GuillaumeLavoie Nah, that would be a scummy thing for me to do. I only return things if they are legitimately garbage, like the Swann NVR package where 3 of the cameras broke while I was installing them... No regrets on that one.

This is a great video on cheap end projectors. Thank you very much for your hard work. Most reviews on RUclips on these projectors are worthless because the reviewers know nothing about video technology or projection. But this one I watched all the way to the end :)
Who else wants a part 2?
I wish you could do a update/ product recommendation update… I can’t find some of the products on your list and would love to give you the credit for purchase!
Thanks for the UK link my dude. Fabulous, in-depth review!!
I liked instantly before even watching the video. Great topic, this was something I was missing, without knowing it.
Really like your upfront honesty and I am going to subscribe to your channel. I've seen some of the deceptive reviews and the can be hurtful to anyone who thinks that they are get a good deal but ends up wasting money.
Thanks a bunch for this, you've saved me many many hours of youtubing. Top show.
