The BEST solid reviews I've seen after shopping around the past 3 months. I'm so happy I waited to to order, knowing how frustrating bulbs are, and how disappointing LED projectors can be. Thanks for your honest reviews. 😊
Oh my gosh! My Yaber just came in the mail today and it looks beautiful!! I haven't figured out the keystone settings, but the image very crisp. I noticed black in dark scenes are a little too heavy meaning you don't see a lot of deal, but it's bright enough for me to work on a mural during the day when I need to.
What an excellent video. Absolutely spot on for what I need as I'm looking to buy a projector but don't want to fall down the 'just buy the expensive one, that way you'll know it's good' trap.
Thank you Rob. Your videos have made my home assistant venture so much more enjoyable. You and Dr ZZ's videos have also made my new venture into LED's less confusing and more exciting. Thank you again for a great video.
You're a godsend! Thanks for filter through all the ewaste, and bad budget options to really dig into what's worth your money for your application. Thank you!
I’ve watched a few of your videos now and the way you present your content is very good, simple and logical. Lots of reviewers out there but I appreciate the effort you have put into putting together videos that clearly explain concepts to someone who is not familiar with projectors.
Can you do this for sd cards please!! I researched projectors on several occasions and always ended up confused and frustrated and unable to decide but your video clarified everything for me! I appreciate the time and thought you put into the tests to gather relevant and accurate data and to walk us through your process. It has to be the best comparison shopping type video I've seen!!
Fantastic summary of the chosen models. This guy really knows his stuff! Forget Amazon reviews, which inevitably are either black or white, this is the place to come for a balanced view of stuff you are going to spend your money on.
We had a cheap one, 150, we loved it, but the fan noise became unbearable. Moved to a anker nebula cosmos 1080, 900 ansi lumens, great dolby audio, android tv and... hardly any fan noise. Love it. The 400 extra was worth it.
No doubt things start getting interesting around the $600 level, unfortunately for some people spending 4x the cost is just not in the cards. I was pretty impressed by this price point, but they were obviously not that good compared to my $700 BENQ or my $2500 xGimi, I'm always just looking to find value, meaning the best you can do at a specific price point.
200 euros here on Wismius k8 and fan noise is so so so low. So that's not the point to spend 500 more euro. There are other things. U are wrong. When u try only 2 projectors try to dona speak like u know all the market. Because then u lie.
Dude I’m returning mine. I could live with how insanely loud it is because the image is great for the price but the Bluetooth is USELESS. My speaker which is 5.1 is so laggy movies are unwatchable. Latest AirPods Pro’s also out of sync. And then the headphone out can’t drive my small powered monitors to a decent level. So it’s garbage.
@@nwa5971 Hey, is your projector still performing well? No problems with bluetooth and loud fan noise? I was about to buy this unit but the other person says its garbage.
Thank you so much for taking the time to thoroughly test these out so we don't have to!! Been on the journey of finding a good budget projector for quite sometime now. I got a feeling that we are about to experience a major technological shift with smart glasses right around the corner, though, so... projector technology could change quite dramatically as well soon, right? Regardless, thanks again for the effort that you put into making this.
Before COVID I had 2 monitors in my office. Now working from home and with very little room, I am stuck with my laptop monitor. I am thinking I could use a small, portable projector to connect to my HP Elitebook and send the signal as my second monitor and project off the wall behind my desk. With this I can use wherever I set up my work and portability is a benefit. The side benefit as a portable projector for movies is also a benefit. I know this is not what they are intended for but with tiny home offices and space, innovation is the word. Thank you - Wade
Great work as always! I really like your input lag test. I've never seen someone do it like that before. It's lot more visual than filming muzzle flashes in slowmo or using a photodiode tool.
Hello, I got the Nexigo PJ20 because of this video and I will say that it's just OK. Got it for home use and it is very loud, so when it is behind the couch you can hear constant buzzing. It's quite large and the plug adds an additional 5 cm behind because of it's thickness. It says the projection range is 1.2-6.4, but actually only a very specific distance works, about 4 metres. The focus isn't great: you can manually rotate the incline, but if you do, then the sides of the image are very blurry, making it impossible to read subtitles (so we have a focused but slanted image). The other focus option on the remote opens a blue image every time you press it, but it actually isn't great for finding the right focus, so you have to wait until your original image opens to check the focus. The Wifi connection option lags (in Germany) for watching movies, we bought an HDMI cable, then it's good. The sound is so-so, we use a speaker. Also one thing we didn't consider is that you cannot control the image or sound from the remote, you still need your laptop nearby. Overall, I would have been happier with a more compact and portable projector, with a better speaker, worse image, but quieter.
Very helpful vid - thank you for helping navigate the plethora of weird projector brands. I bought the Nexigo because it was quieter and I'm glad I did, because it is definitely not quiet, lol. The noise floor in my room was too high to test 18" away, but right next to the projector it was 75dB. If others were louder than that, you definitely saved me the hassle of returning them.
THANK YOU💜 Ive wasted hours on reviews that left me frustrated and confused. Your video was technical, but not confusing. In depth,, yet simple. Being unfamiliar with proj specs, i was nervous to place an order. Which takes all the fun out if ordering it Thank you for taking the time to make such a thorough review, and and extra thank you for the way you presented the results! SUBSCRIBED!.
No, I had to return it through Amazon. It had hardware issues that the company wanted me to download and update the software. From what I could tell the LCD used was separating with use . It started showing lines across the screen after about 3 movies. I went back to their Amazon store and notice they disconnected that model. 😡🤬
Thank you so much for not being gatekeepy/elitist. I was trying to get info from r/projectors and even the suggestion of something less than 700$ seems to be shamed and scoffed at.
As someone who bought the Nexigo from this review, I have to say one thing that wasn't called out. This projector (along with some others) uses a mirror to adjust the keystone from the vertical standpoint, and the projector cannot be off to the right or left BUT more importantly, If you adjust the keystone the focus uniformity is really bad, so bad I would consider it unusable if the projector isn't at screen height. I wanted to mount it on the ceiling but after adjusting the keystone it was so bad that I ended up just keeping it on a tripod at screen height behind my couch. Otherwise, the picture quality is good (considering the price range), and thanks for this review, I love the detail and work you put into them and I find them to be accurate.
Unfortunately that is a characteristic of every projector, not just cheap LED projectors. The fresnel lens on LED projectors does make them a bit more sensitive than other long throw projectors, but still not as sensitive as UST projectors. Even projectors that have 3d keystone can't maintain focus uniformity when mounted off center. The only true "fix" is a projector with lens shift, but the adjustments for lens shift are generally only about 12-24" in any direction.
Thank you for the very well made test video! Without people like you it would be a nightmare to buy anything at all. The conclusion I have come to is that your $700 (now 750 due to inflation) benq projector really is the answer. It works during day/night, has a good picture, is quiet and low input lag. Yet its nothing crazy like a $2000 4k screen. It just works without any nonsense. Thank you again for this incredibly well made video, you really are helping many choose the right products.
This video was on point. I love that you went head to head with your BenQ as that really drives the point home about how different these models are compared to entry level major manufacturer models. I suppose a lot more could still be talked about, which the geek in me would love to hear, but this would make it a thirty minute video at least and I was super happy about the details you did get. Things to consider adding… Internal audio quality, connectivity for external devices, playback internal support, networking support, zoom range, offset, throw distance, additional features. Zoom is such a standard feature on even cheap major manufacturer brands, some people may not know it is almost non-existent on these cheap models. Same with offset. Still, that’s more about educating consumers, and for some quick head to head of a bunch of projectors, that I’m sure took forever to film and put together, you did a amazing job. Always remember that BenQ also has a 2,700 ANSI lumen LED projector, so LED itself isn’t what is holding light output back, but the cheapness of the LEDs these manufacturers are using. Love the great and informative video!
bought several Azeus 720P LCD led projectors, for a messily $30 each! I'm isimply amazed at how good the black level is, and overall pic quality., for next to nothing!!!! Dust bunnies are occasionally a thing on these cheap PJ's, but just blow air on the lcd screen, and problems fixed! Terrific value for 100" screen setup!
The last video I got the top hundo projector that you used on your halloween setup. It's not perfect but I thank you, it's great for movies/shows and I never would have bought it without your very thorough review.
Thank you very much for this video. I need a new projector for high school year-end sports banquets, and this really helped to narrow down what to buy. Going with the Nexigo.
Excellent video. Very helpful and informative for those of us that don't have the big bucks to throw around on entertainment (a/v equipment) and want the best bang for our bucks. Thanks.
Love your subjective testing. My sample of the nexigo PJ20 failed the focus test miserably. Way worse than you found. After raising the bar a little to the DB Power RD828, and trying 3 of them before giving up, ive found the biggest issue amongst these budget projectors is quality control, or rather the complete lack of ! All of these showed image irregularities from not being assembled in a clean room. Hairs, dirt and dead pixels - one of them had something rattling around inside it. Get what you pay for i guess !

Unfortunately, none of the decent ones from this test are available in the UK. Does anyone know if there are any equivalent models of these in the UK. Great vid by the way, very thorough testing of each projector.
The yaber V10 is available yesterday I was going to buy it for only £130 with the £40 voucher but it disappeared when I was going to pay .so I ended but buying the yaber v7 pro for £187
awesome review / video.. pretty much answered all my concerns. i am actually a painter who definitely would make use of the keystone feature on the yaber and for which that would be my main use so i am very appreciative you went over that
Let me say, I got my old Epson eb-u04 here in my living room and since a few days I got the gammabai vast budget projector here, cause I'm a fan of the China ones. Don't know why😅 But I'm watching on the gammabai the last days and you know why? Cause it's not that bright. When I'm relaxing on my couch after work for me it's so so much more pleasant that my eyes didn't hurt as I'm watching with my Epson. much better to fall asleep. And the overall image quality is really really good at there days on budget projectors. I would never expected this case😅 Go on Chinese developer, give us more of them and take my money😅😅😅
Hi, thanks so much for doing these in depth videos it's just what I need to make an informative purchase , great work. I bought the jaber k1 after watching your reviews, many thanks 👍😊
I just got an Epson home cinema 2100 for $290 shipped on eBay from a seller who had a 90 day return policy. It works perfectly. I had a Vankyo V630W for a week and returned it. There is no comparison between the 2. Get a good name brand used over a cheap one. I had an InFocus DLP that made me sick with rainbow effect. Get an Epson 3LCD and avoid that.
Hi Greg, I am considering the Vankyo V630W. Why did you return it? How was the picture quality? I am making a home theatre in my basement. Congrats on the Epson.
@@leftyrncii980 The Vankyo looks fine. Better than my old WXGA 800p Infocus, it's an LED projector so no rainbow, and it stays fairly cool. The downside is the perimeter of the image is pretty blurry, it's not very bright, and the one I bought had transparent splotches in the image right out of the box.
Not all DLP projectors are as bad. If the color wheel is fast enough then the rainbow effect is diminished, if the colors flicker slower then the effect gets worse... My first projector bothered me off and on but the more recent one has never bothered me... LCD pixels take a lot of time to darken which leaves a trail effect plus more light is lost with the three LCD panels so each tech has their drawbacks...
Trying to find an art projector with 4 corner keystone and a threaded hole on the bottom for a tripod mount has become a real chore for me. If only the Yaber V10 had a tripod mount. This was a fantastic video. I'd love to see you continue with the moderate priced projectors and pico's, etc.
Just bought the Vaabzz. The image quality is stunning and I can confirm every single negative point of this video. The noise fan is elevated and annoying however if I blast the surround system is barely noticeable. I have a media room with no windows and the quality of the image is mind-blowing on a 100 inch screen
I also just got the Vaabzz. But I also got the Nexigo. It was no contest. The Nexigo was superior in all accounts. I had them side by side and it was quite stark how different they were. Idk. Maybe I had a defective unit.
Great video, I appreciate your work. Question: How do the Vankyo projectors measure up to this list? I was looking at the Vankyo V630W but am now intrigued by the Nexigo PJ20. Your thoughts?
Very insightful! I learned more from two of your videos on projectors than I did from hours of research elsewhere! I'm a digital artist and animator and looking for a way to do animation premiere nights, as well as having a huge screen to test throw my art on. I haven't made a decision yet, I also haven't watched all the content in existence on projectors yet, lol
No body ever talks about what size USB Drive you can use and it's format Fat32 or NTFS or Exfat. Very important if you want to use a usb drive to play your movies. "File Size Matters" 😊
Thank you so much for these! Next time you do a test comparison on this price range, would you consider adding budget projectors that are not currently offered on Amazon, like the Vankyo ones sold on BestBuy and Walmart?
Hello, My name is Azany and I live in America but I’m Cuban born. I was recently in Cuba bringing aid into the Country. My family and I packed 10 bags of medicine and clothing and headed over to a remote part of Cuba. A small country town with little resources and a very small community. Cuba recently has been going through extreme power outrages and that part of the Country has been getting 2hours of electricity most days. I just bought two generators and donated them to the church in town. One for the church to continue their services and another one for the church to lend out for special situations like funerals, etc. the people of the town can’t hardly sleep due to the heat In the evenings and the youth has very little entertainment. I wanted to buy a some type of projector that is affordable to donate to the town for movie nights. Im hoping this will bring the community together some nights with hopeful movies and give the youth entertainment. Im not good with electronics and I have little idea on what to buy. I saw your videos on RUclips and I was hoping for some advice and ideas. I would like to keep my budget to $500 of all the stuff I would need to buy. I know is not much but I’m hoping you can advice me on a okay company or even second hand suggestions. I am doing all this myself so it’s expensive to travel to cuba etc. truly appreciate any advice on what’s out there in the market that can give me the posibility to get a big screen image on a wall for them to watch movies etc. thank you in advance for your time and response

@@kilian876 With coupon, this was only $200. BenQ has one that a 9 foot distance provides full 100" image but cost $800. Too much for this temp fix (kid moved in for 3 years to save for home so I lost my 75" Samsung TV, which is better, for now). The image is native 1080p, next best to native 4K, which is super pricey. Easy set up. There is an adjustment allowing me a 16x9 image even though tilted up. Check a screen size calculator. I almost bought 120" screen which, given the space, would have sucked. But loving this. HDMI connected to PC with 5.1 sound from PC, not the projector which does have a built in speaker. My pal's kid New Aesthetic ruclips.net/video/cr1o_Lm18Yc/видео.html
Well as a former Tesla Energy scheduling specialist, if you can stay in touch with your scheduling specialist.
Your test are amazing! Please make a comparison with $200-$300 projectors, I would like to know if my wimius k7 was a good choice 😃
bought several Azeus 720P LCD led projectors, for a messily $30 each! I'm isimply amazed at how good the black level is, and overall pic quality., for next to nothing!!!! Dust bunnies are occasionally a thing on these cheap PJ's, but just blow air on the lcd screen, and problems fixed! Terrific value for 100" screen setup!
This guy does a great job explaining how he compares these projectors…
So helpful. I wish I used your video before I purchased mine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation. Thank you 🙏🏾👍🏾
Your methods are so clear and compehensive, scientific I'd say. Thanks!
There was only one thing missing for this review to be absolutely perfect: time stamps.
Thank you!! Ordered w/your link :) Made my purchase MUCH easier
Thanks for all the useful information that you provide
Wow, what a great review!!
Thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us :-)
Wow, so much detail for free! Thanks for the reviews.
This is the best review I've ever seen man, glad I discovered you.
Nexigo PJ20 my very first projector ever and i love it !!! thank you The Hook Up !!!
wow, you did input lag on projectors! Thank you! instant subscribe, i've been looking for that for a while
Was going to skip through the video but, amazing content, just pure quality through and through, love it.
This Sr is a thruly LORD of a perfect job presentation... Amazing
Excellent video. Very helpful and informative for those of us that don't have the big bucks to throw around on entertainment (a/v equipment) and want the best bang for our bucks. Thanks.
THANK YOU. I just wanted a cheap projector for an outdoor movie that wasn't total garbage. You can waste days shopping blindly for these.
i bought nexigo pj20 its good
Words can’t describe how GREAT this video was. Thank you so freakin much, what an amazing job!! *slow clap *
which one u buying
Love your subjective testing. My sample of the nexigo PJ20 failed the focus test miserably. Way worse than you found. After raising the bar a little to the DB Power RD828, and trying 3 of them before giving up, ive found the biggest issue amongst these budget projectors is quality control, or rather the complete lack of ! All of these showed image irregularities from not being assembled in a clean room. Hairs, dirt and dead pixels - one of them had something rattling around inside it. Get what you pay for i guess !
Thanks for your time brother! Appreciate the depth of info and articulate presentation! 👍

Love to see this as a series going up in increments of $100. Very informative!
Hey, wanted to ask you can provide updated links for the top projector’s under 100 as they are unavailable when I click your links. Thank you.
@@bobbyg2675 Unfortunately that's just 2021 supply chain stuff, they are in fact sold out and currently unavailable.
Would you be willing to compare the top 3 to budget refurbished options from brands like BenQ, Optoma, Veiwsonic, Epson etc.?
Unfortunately, none of the decent ones from this test are available in the UK. Does anyone know if there are any equivalent models of these in the UK. Great vid by the way, very thorough testing of each projector.
The yaber V10 is available yesterday I was going to buy it for only £130 with the £40 voucher but it disappeared when I was going to pay .so I ended but buying the yaber v7 pro for £187
Did you end up buying one and if so which one did you go for? Thanks
awesome review / video.. pretty much answered all my concerns. i am actually a painter who definitely would make use of the keystone feature on the yaber and for which that would be my main use so i am very appreciative you went over that
I just found you channel and you are hand down best reviewer of projectors. I loved your videos.
I'm going to go with the BenQ or another Taiwan brand. 💯
Great video though other RUclipsrs should do videos like this you really put thought into it
Let me say, I got my old Epson eb-u04 here in my living room and since a few days I got the gammabai vast budget projector here, cause I'm a fan of the China ones. Don't know why😅
But I'm watching on the gammabai the last days and you know why?
Cause it's not that bright. When I'm relaxing on my couch after work for me it's so so much more pleasant that my eyes didn't hurt as I'm watching with my Epson. much better to fall asleep.
And the overall image quality is really really good at there days on budget projectors. I would never expected this case😅
Go on Chinese developer, give us more of them and take my money😅😅😅
Hi, thanks so much for doing these in depth videos it's just what I need to make an informative purchase , great work.
I bought the jaber k1 after watching your reviews, many thanks 👍😊
Thank you for the review. Very detailed and backed with data.
That's a great projector, congrats.
This was a great video. I hope you can do another to compare $800 - $1200 or similar price range projectors. Thank you.
Wow what a great video and format. This is actually insane
Great video as always! My wife and I were just recently talking about getting a projector.
Smart, informative and straight to the point.
You set an example tech reviewers.
Trying to find an art projector with 4 corner keystone and a threaded hole on the bottom for a tripod mount has become a real chore for me. If only the Yaber V10 had a tripod mount. This was a fantastic video. I'd love to see you continue with the moderate priced projectors and pico's, etc.
why dont you buy nexigo
You know this guy's opinion is valid when he can singlehandedly make any projector sell out indefinitely
subbed, complete and simplified review, straight to the point.
Great video. I would love to see a video on relatively lower priced smart WiFi projectors.
Thanks for taking the time and care with this. really helpful. 😀
Clean and clear straight to the point info. It’s much needed Ty sir. Def subscribed
This is great. Looking forward to a sub $1k comparison video
Thank you so much for these! Next time you do a test comparison on this price range, would you consider adding budget projectors that are not currently offered on Amazon, like the Vankyo ones sold on BestBuy and Walmart?
Vankyo is a 👎
This is so good! I wish you could compare - well - everything.
This guy really know how to do an review, new sub
Excellent as always, thanks Rob!
You're amazing. So helpful. Keep going mate. 👏
Hello,
My name is Azany and I live in America but I’m Cuban born.
For the fan ... just have someone 3d print one for you. Should be fairly easy.
Can you make a 4k projector video? Btw the videos are just awesome!! Loving all the detail and the information in technical specs you measured. Thank you so much.
Love these videos, could not buy your #1 from either video because they are out of stock but that's probably because of your real video reviews but I bought #2 with you link
These head to heads are really cool and fun to watch, thank you!
You earned my sub man, you are a boss of reviews. You should make it big, biiiiigggg. Thank you for really quality content. I'm. Interested in putting together a digital observatory to blast video of planets, galaxies etc onto the ceiling. I was wondering what older or used 1080p projectors would be good for that.
Phew! Just received the Nexigo. This video kinda confirms I didn't screw up. Bright and, as a gamer, I appreciate the low lag.
Hi…. can u tell me a bit more abt your thoughts on the Nexigo adter using it for a while? Is it worth the money? And do you think it is a good projector to watch movies on? …. Id really appreciate an answer :)

Thanks for the video! Super helpful
Well as a former Tesla Energy scheduling specialist, if you can stay in touch with your scheduling specialist. They should have the connections you need to get your questions answered and get the techs scheduled for you. I covered UT, CO, and some areas in CA. Those schedules were tough for install and service work being booked out a year in advance.
In my experience if you have reached a scheduling specialist you have already won. The issue is getting to that point.
@@TheHookUp very true. I made a point to stay with my customers all the way from site inspection through PTO. That’s definitely rare in the group. Especially with power wall and solar roof calls that took hours sometimes depending on the configuration.
@@justinnelson3847 Just noticed that this comment is totally on the wrong video. Lol.
@@TheHookUp lol sorry about that! Got distracted by this one I guess. I’ll try to repost in the appropriate place.
