    I'm a paramedic and I know a little about Methamphetamine induced Psychosis, this state would take approximately 72 hrs awake on the drug, one will experience extreme paranoia and visual distortions, and they are capable of doing anything. This wouldn't happen if they taken the drug hours before, you need at least 48hrs to add the insomnia that creates a Hyper active Fight or Flight effects. I would be more convinced of them discovering some guys in the woods cooking meth thru a shake and bake process that is popular to do in the woods away from people due to the deadly fumes, they could have killed them to prevent witnesses. Great work brother, Tom from Colorado

      You've never done neth obviously. My ex husband did it one time and was up for 12 days thinking ppl were after him and at one point thought it would be ok to do anything bc we were all just a computer program. This wasn't shake and bake meth it was ice. Which is Probly what they did. He also saw and heard angels speaking to him. So they could have dobe that drug 5 dats earlier and still been out if their minds. Their behavior looks so much like my ex husband I thought meth as soon as I saw the video of them walking in and out of the house. They thought someone was watching them I think and were trying to be quiet. That stuff nesses with your head. My ex ended up in a psych l unit in the hospital for 2 vweeks when he did it and honestly has never been the same since

      @Zerro Fox I used meth off and on for 30yrs. I have never experienced any of these symptoms of paranoia. I believe it was because I never injected the drug. People that do I've witnessed have had these symptoms of severe paranoia.

    • @christinafidance340
      @christinafidance340 3 года назад

      @@exoticprairie you might not have done enough of it, that’s all. I abused Adderall for years prior to ever doing meth and I would have the exact same psychosis after taking (orally) 3 bottles of the stuff and being awake for a week. I’ve also injected a little bit of meth and been just fine. It really seems to be an issue of how long a person is awake more than anything else. AND a person ‘s mental health prior to taking it has a lot to do with it too. A person who is more healthy can probably withstand a lot more abuse than a person who is bipolar, like the wife in this case.

    • @Fightingbadgers
      @Fightingbadgers 8 лет назад +6

      Agreed, meth would cause erratic and energetic behavior, his thoughts on Vicodin or similar abuse seems more likely, especially since it is very addictive after long term use, and you will need more and more to get the pain relieving effect. It doesn't matter though, since that is all speculation.

    • @Fightingbadgers

      *****
      Yeah still, if he was in chronic pain he would definitely be attracted to opiates, even LSD would only heighten your senses for experiencing pain, it wouldn't be funny. But agreed, he seems to be on something at first and second glance, I'm just also aware that's it's all guess work for now.

    • @jiggleykrowzer8768

      It's also very possible that he was taking "legal meth" aka adderall or ritalin, along with his other opiates and pain meds. Unfortunately these days you can get legal heroin and meth just by lying to a doctor who gets paid to write you scripts for such things.

    Love your channel. I don't believe the disability claim. yes, you get money for disability, but it is very little; at least here in the US. But how can two people on disability benefits afford a $300,000 home and several other homes? Something is off here and people are not talking like they should.

    • @lynncrf
      @lynncrf 7 лет назад +16

      I also don't believe anyone would be out to get them for being on disability benefit. Firstly, it's not much, and secondly they both had genuine reasons for being on it. I assume the house was bought before the accident, as the husband had a successful business before he was injured.

      The amount of disability benefits a person receives is based on how much money they earned (and therefore contributed to SS) while they were able to work. So depending on what their previous jobs were, and how long they worked, it is possible they got enough to live a very comfortable life.

    At first I was thinking this could be a murder, but no way is someone going to murder them and not rob the car and take that $. Their strange behavior while packing the car actually *is* common of meth, you can become very quiet on meth when you've been on a bender for a few days straight, you haven't slept or eaten in days &you're hallucinating and half out your mind. Plus, a lot of their behavior is textbook meth use so I'm sure the cops have good reason to think they were tweekin. I'm now thinking they were on their way to look at property, and were so high that they were hallucinating and dangerously paranoid. They either got out of the truck to look at something or someone (that wasn't there) or they thought they were near the house, or they were going to bury that briefcase to hide it, but they were so out of it they got lost, confused and died in the elements. We had that happen to a couple teenagers here. They were so high that they ran into the woods thinking someone was following them, became disoriented and got totally lost for a week and one of them died. Also, the pix of the couples daughter might've looked strained cuz her parents were acting bizarre and it scared her and put her on edge.. sad story tho :/

    • @elsalas66
      @elsalas66 7 лет назад +3

      Whitney Angelie sounds reasonable, the only question is was the daughter on drugs too? It's highly unlikely which keeps leading me to think they where murdered.

    • @whitneyangelie3682
      @whitneyangelie3682 7 лет назад +6

      Liam Salas Oh I doubt the daughter was on drugs. But anywhere they would've gone out there in the middle of nowhere they would've brought her with them so she would've died of exposure along with them. Actually, a child might die *first* in a situation like that. As for the murder theory, I don't remember what condition they found the bodies in (I just remember they found the dog still in the car) so I don't know if murder really makes sense

      It's very possible they left the dog behind w/the money as a deterrent to anyone who might stumble across the truck. Then they went on their loony trek into the wilderness and succumbed to whatever. They were 3 miles away so it's very possible they were lost. Has anyone explored the idea that they were lured there w/the property for sale?

    How did the dog make it that long without water? For humans it's only 3 days without water before death, generally speaking. Was there any in the truck that was accessible to the dog? Could the scent at the water tank indicate one of the family members gave the dog water before their deaths, I wonder.

      Indeed. What was it that Robert Stack used to say in UM? "For every mystery, someone, somewhere, knows the truth" (and then adding, "Perhaps it's you.")
      And I'm not sure what's going on with their behavior in the footage. Looking to be in a trance while unloading and loading the same items? The husband asking his pastor about special ammunition to kill off demons he's dealing with at home? What kind of pastor or church shrugs this kind of talk off or finds it acceptable? (I'd be starting to think about the parent who drowns their children in a bathtub to "save them from the Devil," and warn the authorities.) At any rate, if they did run across anyone, were the parents in any state of mind so as to even be any more intelligible than they already weren't. Finally, I'm also going with a no on implicating meth use. Pharmaceutically manufactured methamphetamine is in fact legal and I have been prescribed and experienced the drug itself (trade name: Desoxyn) for treating ADHD. It's a stimulant that's more potent than Adderall (l-, d-amphetamine mix)but, and a little more potent than Dexedrine (pure d-amphetamine) but with the same use and abuse profile. Apparently, it just happens to be easier to abuse methamphetamine at lower doses, and therefore has a higher dependence liability. Studies also indicate that methamphetamine can be neurotoxic (via overexcitation of the nervous system) in higher doses because it penetrates the blood brain barrier more quickly than your other stims; enter stage left the "faces of meth" and your other exhibits of abuse. But for a trance-like state, you'll have to look elsewhere--like inhalants.

    Maybe someone killed them, stored them in the water tank, and then years later moved them to the path to be found. The fact that the scent dogs took police to the water tank, and the fact that the bodies were not found in the area they were at for a while (it being so easily accessible), leads me to my theory. I really don't know though.

    The fact that the dog as well as all their belongings were left it the car, makes it seem like they were meant to return to it in a few minutes. Perhaps they did cross paths with the wrong person/people at the wrong time. The reason the car was left untouched is because whoever did it, didn't want his fingerprints inside the vehicle. If it was a murder/suicide, wouldn't they have also shot the dog? I mean, I don't know. Leaving it in the car to succumb to starvation just seems like a very cruel thing for me to do. Unless, the whole thing was not planned and it occurred as a result of a fight.

      +Ellie Cat -- it's this detail with the dog that keeps me thinking whatever happened to them was unintentional at the moment.
      The photo of the daughter, my first thought was that the pic was taken when she was moving into a position or she was talking to them. I have several photos taken of me like that. But I really don't know.

    • @ch33zling
      @ch33zling 8 лет назад +3

      HC Iapetus I felt the same way about the girl's photo. It looks like a candid shot to me, almost like she's in the middle of telling a story or having a little argument over something and one of the parents decides to capture the moment. I think given the fact that they initially went missing without a trace, the family and friends tried to look for something in the photo that was not there to begin with. I could be wrong but it just seems like the most likely scenario to me.

    • @hciapetus1251
      @hciapetus1251 8 лет назад +1

      +Ellie Cat -- that could be very true about the family trying to see something off about the photo. I watched the episode on ID about them and remembered how they talked about the photo and my thoughts still stand. Like you, could be wrong.
      I admit this family's story is very confusing for someone like me trying to theorize what could have happened to them. So tragic. I want to believe that this was done to them by someone else and not their own doing. But that's me being bias mostly.
      Oh! I also wanted to comment on the dad's back pain and people thinking he wouldn't ever go hiking. A good friend of mine horrible back and hip pain, they have to take strong meds for it even. But they are still willing to go hiking once in a while if their 5 year old wants to go. I don't think it means much for the Jamison's but I wouldn't dismiss the family going out there to check out the land and needing to hike it for a bit. (Read a few comments on here of people suggesting he wouldn't do that)

    • @ch33zling
      @ch33zling 8 лет назад +3

      +HC Iapetus yeah, I believe that the very fact that they wanted to live off the grid suggests that they were people who liked the outdoors. I think they might have done a short hike while they were there but I still feel that the condition the car was left in suggests that they had to leave unexpectedly or didn't anticipate to be gone for long. Just the fact that everything was left in the car (including the dog) suggests to me that they weren't going hiking. For one, why wouldn't they have taken the dog with them? It just seems to me that if they intended to hike they'd have taken their pooch and some of the belongings.

    People who have never had a bonded family pet will probably find the following statement strange but those who have, may agree. I highly doubt that this was a murder/suicide by either the father or mother. If you care enough for your dog to take him/her on a road trip with you, you are not going to leave the animal to starve, trapped in your vehicle no matter what state of mind you are in. If her intention was to kill her family and then commit suicide she would have either also killed the dog or she would have left him at home where he had more chance of being found. Every suicide I have seen where there are animals in the home, the suicider has either left extra food for them or was of the knowledge they would be found quickly. There were definitely external forces at play here.

    I feel it's a combination of the husbands physical circumstance and the wife's mental health. With bipolar disorder you don't need a drug to have a reason to act irrationally. To live secluded in the woods is a trait (to escape a situation) I would identify with bipolar disorder during a depressive episode. It's sad that the daughter and dog had to get dragged into it. It's just my theory. I'd love to hear everyone Else's :)

      I felt the same thing. I'm finding out just by looking at so many of these cases that if there's a question of mental illness, you might not ever find out exactly what happened and even if you do you may never understand it. Events won't follow a natural progression so when you try to reconstruct it nothing makes sense.

    • @shirleybennett5946
      @shirleybennett5946 8 лет назад +7

      I think both of you really nailed it; the mentally ill will do things for reasons that make perfect sense to them that the rest of the world may never understand or even know about. It makes sense to me that Mrs Jamison may have had a progression in her break from reality and either convinced her husband to cooperate, or lured him out there, possibly under the ruse that they were going to buy land (which would explain the money left sitting there). I have a really hard time believing any other person was involved simply because that cash was sitting there, cell phones left, camera left...even if it was some random lowlife, I think they would have grabbed the phone, cameras, tools, and cash just simply because they *could*. That, to me, points to them being alone out there.

    John, I stumbled upon your channel a couple weeks ago and I have been binge watching your Brain Scratch episodes chronologically.
    1. Thank you for what you do.
    2. So far, this case has me "scratching my brain" the most. I have a question that I admittedly didn't search too long to attempt to find, but does anyone know if the owners of the land the Jamison family was driving to see were thoroughly investigated? I cannot help but think that whomever listed the land for sale may have been involved due to the cadaver dogs hitting on the water tanks; that may have been the initial place the bodies were placed (and then, potentially, moved closer to the vehicle when the news came out that the family was missing). Or, alternatively, the murderer used the water tanks to wash his/her hands or clothes after the murder. This, obviously, is just my current opinion and I have no other information to support this thought.
    3. The surveillance video footage of the Jamison family is not fluid-how can anyone come to the determination that they were acting as if they were on drugs, or even that they weren't communicating with one another? I can speak from experience that while packing cars for camping trips with my husband, we have our own items that we pack individually, and we are just focused on packing the car. I believe the most we ever say to each other is, "I'm almost done," or "there's a little more to go," possibly without even looking at one another. We definitely don't have full-blown conversations as we're packing. It's possible that the video footage just didn't pick up on them gesturing to or talking with each other as they walked past each other. Lastly, although behavioral psychologists reviewed the footage and came to the determination that they were acting as if they were on drugs, I have a PhD in psychology and respectfully, strongly disagree.

It's called the world's scariest drug. the picture of the daughter does look a little weird, but it's just a picture.. i think most of us know from experience that you might think you have the PERFECT shot and a split second later it's gone.. someone can be in the middle of laughing, talking, sneezing, etc, and the camera just catches a weird moment (plus this kid was at the age when she was missing her two front teeth, which helps make the image look a little weird, but again, not necessarily suspicious).. there's also lots of reasons someone might cross their arms, you're pissed, it's cold, your elbow itches, etc, so yea, i'm not seeing a sinister/diabolical clue that's any indication of anything...just your awkward amateur photo taken by your average amateur dad (you probably need to take a hundred to get one really good one, they can't all be winners).
    the security footage would be more interesting (and possibly more telling), but again, not necessarily any alarm bells that they're not talking to each other.. ask any couple that's been together for 10 years and they will tell you that they don't necessarily feel the need to have long elaborate conversations about everything they do} "i'm opening the car door now", "i'm putting this bag in the backseat now", "oh i forgot the cups, so i'm taking the bag back inside to get them now".. i imagine that's the beauty of being married for that long, you don't feel obligated to fill every moment with mindless conversation. i mean i guess i understand it, in a mystery like this people will fixate on the final images of people and tend to project profound/eerie meanings onto them, but i'm not seeing/hearing anything that seems all that strange to me.

    • @ch33zling
      @ch33zling 8 лет назад +1

      I definitely agree with you on the photo. I don't see anything sinister about it; more than likely it was just friends/relatives trying to see something that was not there to begin with in the hope that it would bring in more possible clues.
      I'd still like to see the full unedited footage but, apparently, it does not exist online anymore. From what the cop on Disappeared said, they both made around 20 trips each and sometimes returned to the car with nothing. Now, it's possible that they were checking that they had everything they needed (they did have a small kid and a dog after all that would be coming with them), but 20 trips to the car each does seem a bit excessive in my opinion, especially since they were only going away for a few hours to look at the land they wanted to buy.

    Hello, John! I always appreciate your videos and your great efforts to spread awareness and help out with what you can about missing people cases. Just a few thoughts on this case, as I have also been greatly puzzled about it: Do they actually change clothes? I have come across a speculation in one of the documentaries that it is actually another man in the CCTV footage. Also, if they did go for a short hike to explore the area , why would they take a pic of the girl, go back and leave the phone in the car and go back out walking again? I am unsure of how significant this really is but it is curious, nonetheless. And lastly if it was a murder-suicide, why wouldn't the weapon be found? What would be the point in disposing it in such a case? About David Paulides, I just wanted to say, I too have listened to many of his radio interviews and I believe he is more interested in focusing the attention of as many people as possible on the great issue of people generally disappearing under mysterious circumstances into the great wild rather than coming up with a singular theory as to how and why it has happened. He seems to be putting a great effort into making this issue public after discovering there is such a long trail of "hush hush" behind it in National Parks' records. There are just too many coincidences and too little information to be a coincidence, and so he has taken on the task to investigate further. I'm sure I am not saying anything new but it was just my thoughts on the video. Thank you again for your thorough and continuous work! Be safe and all the best to you and yours!

    Hey I just want to point out that the cctv footage of them going back and forth to the house, it doesn’t give me enough info to suggest drugs, but what I can tell you is that it looks identical to how I would act if i found out something and I’m really anxious. My husband agrees, and if we just found out some bad news, I often feel like we might act the same. Let’s say they knew someone was after them, it makes sense for them to have trouble thinking about anything else. They’d shut inward, not talk to each other, change their mind consistently about what to bring and change clothes multiple times because they were plotting something involving clothing. Or what if they were in a hurry to get out of there, that one of them said to not talk to each other to get out quicker, and being as scatter-brained, they could have taken out boxes they didn’t need.
    Does anyone know where their daughter and dog were while loading the vehicle? I would assume if you’re a family planning to move, your kids might be helping or at least get in the way; same with maisie. If I were walking back and forth from the house, I’d most likely have a door open and my dog would follow me back and forth.
    Additionally, their picture of madyson, I think she looks like she’s actually crying, due to the glare under her eyes, it looks like wetness and when kids are full on crying while taking pictures of them, they have same facial expression.

    My theory is that the father or someone the father paid got into the house and told the family to pack up their truck at gun point (that's why they were acting so strangely) and followed the truck until he told them to stop, made them walk to the forest and shot them. After that he buried them in a shallow grave, and over time the dirt eroded. I have no explanation about the water tank, except to think that maybe the hit man decided to drown them for some reason, and I think the spiritual and emotional problems didn't really play into this whole situation.

    John, another great video. Here's my two cents on each of the theories you mention:
    Drugs: If they did them or sold them, there would have been evidence of such. Police dug extensively in their backgrounds trying to substantiate this line of reasoning. No evidence leads me to conclude that in this case. It is IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Total Bipolar Break/Murder-Suicide: I combined these because most that try to blame this incident on bipolar end up saying Sherilynn killed them and then killed herself and the gun is still missing so that winds up being a viable theory in my mind at first. However, when combined with the possibility of shooting the family WAY closer to the car, the gun not being found, and only Bobby appearing to have a skull hole and that could have even been from animals, I now believe this is IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Drug cartels from Bobby’s dad: I do put a lot of stock in the animosity between Bobby and his dad because of how close it was in timing to the actual incident. However, his dad was dying, and although he’s a bad dude, I don’t see the Mexican drug kingpins killing this family in this manner for him. Plus, I agree with John that this and a number of the other theories mean that they were followed from Eufala unwittingly which seems unlikely. I think the type of criminal sophistication that a drug cartel or gang would have had would have included killing them closer to the vehicle (why the 3 mile hike), scavenging the vehicle for anything of value, and also killing the dog (to inflict maximum damage). IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Stumbled upon illegal activity: This is possible, but if you walk three miles into the woods and wind up finding something, you didn’t really stumble upon it. It’s very out of the way. So it’s possible that could have happened and they were killed elsewhere somehow and dumped, but since there’s absolutely zero evidence of that happening (and they had returned to their vehicles and had appeared to be leaving when it happened), makes me think that they would have been permitted to drive away. Nothing about dumping them three miles away or making them walk three miles shields the identity of the perpetrator(s), so if they are leaving and you are afraid they are going to make a beeline to the police to rat on you, why not kill them much closer to the vehicle (and kill the dog). And scavenge the vehicle. IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Town’s people: I agree with John that this is fairly implausible because the Town’s people would have had to follow and kill them and I don’t see the town’s people doing that. What would be the motive? After all, the town’s people were about to get what they wanted - the Jamisons moving away! IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Accidental Death: I’ll come back to this and make a case for it as I believe it is the most PLAUSIBLE.
    Violent Cult/KKK: There is just simply no evidence of this at all. While I don’t doubt there are cults in that area, the article was citing cults there from the early to mid-1990s. I just don’t see any evidence of this and nothing appears ritualistic about where they were or anything that had been done with the bodies. Therefore, this theory is IMPLAUSIBLE.
    They were scammers: I don’t doubt at all that they may have been scammers. However, companies who are scammed have buffers for such possibilities. They are sued every day. They hire lawyers and seek fraud charges, they don’t off a family in the backwoods of Oklahoma. IMPLAUSIBLE.
    Aliens and Ghosts, etc. don’t, in my opinion, warrant serious discussion. IMPLAUSIBLE if not IMPOSSIBLE.
    I do want to point out one MAJOR Discrepancy between this video and others I’ve seen on this case: This video cites their $300,000 lakefront property, multiple timeshares and vacation spots, etc. however as I recall every video I’ve seen on this, and particularly when family members and friends are closely interviewed, they seem to say that the Jamison family was basically broke or struggling financially since Bobby’s accident. For example, this site: mysteriousuniverse.org/2015/08/the-bizarre-case-of-the-jamison-family-deaths/ explains that “The truck and additional searches of the house turned up no evidence of drug use and friends and family insisted they had been clean, albeit in financial dire straits” (emphasis mine).
    Ok, the theory I land on (and I’ll make a case for it) - Accidental Death:
    1) The family, despite their disorders and spiritual concerns, is actually optimistic about the future. They are trying to buy this land for a fresh start. Thus, I believe strongly that the $32,000 in cash is for a downpayment on the land. They had a lot to look forward to and weren’t intending to die that day (thus the dog left in the car).
    2) I believe this same upbeat family had gotten out earlier on the drive up to the land and had taken a quick 15 min walk (on which they took the picture of Madyson). I suspect the dog may have gone with them on this walk to potty and stretch legs. They all get back in the vehicle to turn around and leave but Jamison and/or Sherilynn want to check out a little more of the land before they put so much money down on it and agree to call it home.
    3) They stop and get out again, maybe to look at the land boundaries and try to figure out where their property would start/stop. Since the dog has already pottied and stretched and since the terrain is heavily wooded they are about to head into, and since it’s October and the car is cool enough, they briefly leave the dog in the car. Also, because this was going to be a brief jaunt, they leave their cell phones and wallets and everything in the car. After all, they may not get cell reception up there and they’ve already taken a picture.
    4) So they start walking in the tree line, and they walk farther in. Madyson maybe even runs up ahead exploring. They follow. I think they get turned around and head further into the woods. They increasingly lose their bearings. They either lay down to conserve heat and succumb to the elements that first night (unsure how cold it gets there in October in the mountains). Or they wander around for several days trying to get back to the truck only to get further into the woods.
    This is the only explanation I can think of that solves the:
    1) Car heading back down path.
    2) So much money in the vehicle (they are prepared to put a down payment on the land and follow their dream of a fresh start!)
    3) Dog, phones, wallet being left (they don’t plan to be gone long).
    4) Bobby, despite a bad back and chronic pain, hikes three miles from vehicle!?! That definitely seems to be an accident.
    5) Gun not found with them.
    6) No evidence of bullet wounds on all bodies.
    I’m afraid this is as simple as “getting lost in the woods.” I think her bipolar disorder, the dad’s protection order, the dogs hitting on the water tank, the trance-like packing, the missing gun/bag, the spiritual concerns Bobby had, the cults nearby, etc. are all simply red herrings.
    Again, this is just my two cents. I'm always surprised that almost every commenter distances himself or herself from the theory that makes the most sense to me. I'm definitely open to feedback. Thanks so much, John, for handling the Jamison family case!

    Someone else spoke about this case on RUclips and apparently the couple had reported paranormal activity within their home and were telling their loved ones that something evil was in the home. The photo that was taken of the girl, I was wondering how is it known that it was taken on the same occasion that they went missing? Was it posted on social media at the time of their disappearance? It doesn't look to be a normal phone or camera size / shape / resolution so had it been cropped? It almost looks square.
    This is a horrible question so I apologise, but was the daughter present in the video footage of them packing the car? I wonder if many something had happened to her before hand and they were going out there to escape and hide the body when one of the two parents decided to end things. That would explain why they weren't talking as they packed the car. As for no weapon being present, it is still possible they were poisoned, etc.
    Great episode as always! I hadn't heard of this case before now.

    Ok this is a story down my ally since I am a state local from Oklahoma.
    Depends on the dog but any small dog I would leave in the car with windows cracked and I wouldn't leave it for long without the AC in the summer. Not friendly terrain, not friendly weather, plenty of snakes etc that a suburban dog just doesn't need to run into.
    There is a little of the footage of the move online but its really not that odd when watching it. I didn't see them take anything out and bring it back in. I didn't see the briefcase and I didn't see the change of clothes. Also I was under the assumption that this footage from their previous move into their home on the lake. (the 'haunted' home)
    For meth, it could make them go into zombie mode if they had been up for a long time and trying to get sleep and healthy for a day or two. I do think this family involved in personal drug use but I don't think it played a factor in their deaths (other than the mental effects of drug use). Usually those deaths a bit more violent.
    On the truck I think this was a dead end and property at the end of the road so unless they had gone to meet someone there I don't think another truck could approach oncoming.
    Cults, Let me tell you I worry about a lot of things in Oklahoma and cults not even on the list.. I don't buy into that at all. Not any real cult at least, maybe some random people who like to pretend to be in a cult.
    Ghosts, no clue other than it could tie back into meth once again. Not delusions of ghosts but having an existing interest in ghosts and then going too far into finding those relations in their own lives mixed with drug induced paranoia.
    KKK There are KKK and skinheads around but they are pretty underground groups and in turn can be violent. All of this really leans back into meth though, most people don't have all of these issues or associations.
    The missing gun. That one is really hard to comment on without knowing more detail but considering some of their associates a gun being gone not too odd. And again it makes me think about meth. A gun is an easy trade when you are broke just like prescription pills you might get from an accident or mental illness. All have pretty high street trade over value. One thing that makes me lean against the gun is only one body with a possible gunshot wound. Why only shoot one in the head and still kill the others at the scene also in a different fashion?
    I kinda get a Jim Jones vibe from all this.. Go for a walk, get thirsty pass around a bottle of water or some pills around in the truck and that would be that. I don't think he would be against going for a hike. He is moving out that far for a reason and it wouldn't be to stay inside the house.

    Here is one of my theories of what could have happen:
    The Jamison family stopped their car on the tracks because Madyson needed to go to the toilet and Sherilyn most likely would have gone with her along with the gun (husband is probably aware or not aware of) for protection against the wildlife when Bobby also gets out of the car to stretch. When Booby gets back to the car he notices that both Madyson and Sherilyn are not back yet and goes off to look for them knowing that something isn't right. Bobby perhaps comes across the scene where both his wife and child are kneeling to the ground with the killer behind them and the gun in hand that's when Bobby also could have met his demise as well? The killer/s in question might have threaten the family beforehand because they owe them a substantial amount of money? The real estate agent might have known the killer or tipped off to them that they were looking for land in a remote location, that's why Bobby might have gotten nervous and didn't want anything more to do with the Realtor.
    As for the missing brown suit case it could be that possibly Booby left the killer/s an empty case or a small amount of cash on the way which alternately could have infuriated them to the point that they had people follow them out to where Booby had stopped the car and then planned to unfortunately take out the whole family.

    One thing that is concerning, and surprisingly not mentioned in the video or the comments thus far, (unless I missed it), is a particular detail in the photo of the little girl by the rocks. There is a red substance on both her face and the middle of the collar of her shirt. (Admittedly, it's not as easy to see on her face.) While it does seem to be of lighter tone, I can't rule out the possibility that this red substance is blood. It looks to me like she's not smiling, nor even happy. It looks rather like she's yelling at someone.
    If this photo was taken amidst something going very wrong, why would someone take the time during such a situation to take such a photo? It's quite possible the photo was taken accidentally by someone/something bumping the photo button on the phone. (Some phones have these on the outside of the phone.)
    I think there's actually a lot to be learned from this photo. Beyond the obvious, it might be wise to analyse the shadows and lighting in the photo. You can extrapolate to a degree what objects and/or person(s) (at least their shapes) were present but outside the frame of the image. You can even pinpoint exactly when the photo was taken.
    One other thing I'll touch on is the theological, (religious), elements at play--particularly with the father. I have studied a number of different Christian denominations, as well as some religions outside of Christianity. As you can probably guess, no Christian denomination that I know of holds any belief in any sort of holy bullets that can kill demons.
    The southern region of the US where this case occurred is highly populated by what we refer to as charismatic denominations, most notably Pentecostal and Southern Baptist, (which is significantly different from the Baptist denomination people in the north{east} US would be familiar with.) This doesn't mean that this family was from a charismatic denomination, in fact I'd be interested to know of it has been mentioned anywhere what church/denomination they belonged to. While these aforementioned charismatic denominations hold strong beliefs in faith healing they generally do not oppose conventional medical treatment like some other denominations, (such as Jehova's Witnesses.) There is one theological explanation here though, (one that I could rule out or give weight to if I can learn about their church.)
    There have been cases of people performing exorcisms, and due to "complications", the supposedly possessed person dies during the attempt. While most of the extracurricular nonsense you would associate with exorcisms as seen in most movies are generally only done by Roman Catholics, on occasion things can be taken a bit extreme by those in the Charismatic south. Also, if you're Protestant, (ie. not Roman Catholic), you don't have to be a priest/pastor to perform an exorcism. Taking all this into account; there is a (small) possibility that with all the witch,demons, & ghosts talk, someone with a limited theological background may have attempted an exorcism and inadvertently caused their deaths.

    Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such in depth and awesome videos!! I watched all of your Elisa Lam videos and was truly impressed by the level of information you recovered and your very methodical and detailed approach. Keep up the awesome work!! I myself also have a few theories that I dont believe you've mentioned or discussed yet. From the moment I learned of this case I always felt there was something deeply eerie about it and that the facts just didnt add up in regards to any of the known theories. Sometimes a highly bizarre case produces out of the ordinary answers and revelations and my theory runs along that line of thinking. I believe that perhaps Sherilynn and Bobby were targeted individuals. For those who are not familiar with the term I will explain. A targeted individual is a term for a person who is being surreptitiously surveilled by the government/CIA and who may also be exposed to powerful microwave weaponry, have micro chip implants placed in their body, and who are often harassed/followed by members of their community (aka gangstalking). These microwave weapons can cause auditory and visual hallucinations, trance like states, severe physical pain and extreme shifts in emotion. I know this may sound crazy to some but upon conducting some independent research its quite possible to find specific patents out for this type of technology. I started wondering if the Jamisons were involved in a secret government project due to many of the more bizarre aspects of this case. (Google MK Ultra if you are unfamiliar with CIA mind control projects). The Jamisons seemed to feel unsafe and uncomfortable in their community. They intended to isolate themselves as much as possible from society and seemed to have a paranoid mindset ( i.e. moving off the grid into a shipping container, taking their daughter out of school to be homeschooled, all of the cameras around the home, keeping large sums of money on their person, having guns in the car and home etc). Many victims of covert gov't harassment exhibit similar behaviors and for good reason. Ive done a lot of research into electronic harassment, microchipping, and advanced silent weaponry and they can definitely cause many if not all the abnormalities seen in the families behavior. Perhaps the Jamisons in a coherent state obtained proof of what was going on and were planning to go public? Many targeted individuals attempt to document their harassment in an effort to be believed by family and gain public support. Many also move far from their homes in an effort to end the torment. This theory would also explain their constant and vivid experiences with the paranormal (seeing ghosts, angels, and demons). Many victims of these programs are subjected to hallucinations to torment and discredit them. Maybe the family knew too much and this harassment was done to silence them? It seems quite possible as well that Madyson was also involved to an extent. She was communicating with the ghost of a young girl and experiencing similar symptoms to her parents. When watching the Jamisons walking back and forth to the car robotically on the show "Disappeared" it made me think they were either abusing Bobby's pain medication (and perhaps Sherilynns meds for bipolar depression), or that maybe they were victims of this covert mind control program and were in a trance. That would explain their bizarre behavior and why it took them so many trips to the car in order to pack and leave. Perhaps they were being prompted to take certain objects with them and leave on this trip. Perhaps they were manipulated to journey into such a remote area in an effort for their controllers to destroy evidence they had obtained as well as kill them. As many will recall there was a brown briefcase loaded into the car that never turned up along with Sherilynn's missing gun. Perhaps the briefcase contained sensitive information/evidence that someone wanted delivered to that remote area. Once the briefcase was handed over to the perp thr person could have murdered the family and disposed of the bodies in the woods. I believe since the bodies were all found in a line face down that they were driven down the dirt road and then marched to that spot and killed. Sherilynn may have been forced or coerced to turn over her gun. There were certainly people in the area of those hills and around the Jamison home who could have been involved. Sherilynn reported that 3 of her cats were poisoned t9 death and she had blamed it on her neighbors. She clearly felt threatened by outsiders and even the people in her own community which we can clearly see from the spray painted messages on her property. Also adding to another odd factor is that many T.I.'s feel that they are engaged in "spiritual warfare". They believe that the people sneakily causing all of the harm to their lives are agents of the new world order and are steeped in luciferianism and the occult. I thought it was an interesting qoute from their pastor that they were under "spiritual attack" as this is a common saying amongst T.I.'s. Another strange aspect of the case is how seemingly close the bodies were to the car and that the police never discovered them. When I heard that the bodies of were found only 2.7 miles from the SUV and only 75 yards from a dirt road it made me question some level of complicity within the police dept. I just dont understand how their search never even made it as far as a 3 miles radius! Even if the weather was bad and the terrain was difficult I dont see how they NEVER found the remains. I also found it odd that the hunter seemed certain that the hole found in the fathers skull was from a bullet wound but the police immediately denied it suggesting an animal had caused the damage to the corpse. I firmly believe that someone in those hills knows what happened to the family and possibly members of the police force and local community. The Jamison's car was parked in a remote location seemingly blocking a road for 8 days without anyone calling the police!! That seems very suspicious to me. I also thought it was interesting that the dogs who followed their scent hit hard on the water tank in the area and nowhere else. Perhaps they were tied and bound at gunpoint in that spot and then forcibly brought into a vehicle and taken deep out into the woods to be killed. I strongly believe that someone approached them on that road and took them out of the car either by force or coerced them in some way. Another disturbing fact is that I have heard the true reason Sherilynn pulled her daughter from kindergarten was because she had actually filed a lawsuit against the school. I have never heard the details of this lawsuit and would be really interested to find out what it was pertaining to. Mayhe something was taking place at the school that had something to do with their murders. Possibly a McMartin preschool type scenario which would tie in if the parents were involved in such programs. Another facet of the case I find interesting is that the Jamisons were bleaching young Madysons hair. Some people say Sherilynn was just an eccentric person and this is evidence of that, but I wonder if there was more going on there then meets the eye. Many survivors of mk ultra and mind control have shared that blonde hair was a highly desirable trait for sex slaves in the occult circles they ran in. Many people working in programs involving mind control were often involved in the occult and had ties to many different cult organizations including white supremacist groups, satanists, and groups that presented themselves as devout christians but really practiced dark occult arts. If Sherilynn was exposed to or involved in ritual abuse or any type of programming efforts it would be plausible to believe she was grooming her daughter for a similar life. I am not suggesting that she was an evil person or predator by any means. People within these programs have many alter personas that they are not consciously aware of. Many have discovered after reintegration that while in altered states they were subjecting their children to the same abuse they endured as a child and that they had no memory of it afterwards. Perhaps Sherilynn was being manipulated to groom her daughter? Perhaps Sherilynn herself was providing some type of service to these people (CIA/cults) and they wanted her daughter to one day take her place but something went wrong. In her coherent mind state Sherilynn could have began noticing things that werent right with Madyson and decided to take a better look into her school and later take legal action. As we already know Sherilynn was heavily interested (if not involved) in the occult. Bobby had obtained a satanic bible with which he felt he could banish negative spirits with. I know Sherilynns friend said the witch thing was all a big joke but I think it goes deeper than that. Several people looking into the case said they felt something was off with her friend so perhaps she was trying to make light of something she knew much more about. Sherilynn's mother specifically stated that she felt a cult was responsible for her daughters death. Apparently someone from a white supremacy group contacted Sherilynns best friend and told her this. This would again make sense as these programs employ people like this to do some of their dirty work and in return look the other way in regards to their criminal activity. All I know is that there seems to be much much more to this story than what we are being told. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had thought along this line of thinking!

    This is really strange indeed. Ok, so the wife has a manic episode during their drive down the mountain, either gets paranoid or scared, gets out of the car and runs off. Husband fully stops the car, takes the daughter and goes after her, leaving with haste and leaving the dog in the car, either to guard it or as a sign to potential people that they are close and that they will be back.
    The wife at that point believes she is being chased and tries to lose them. After a while the husband and daughter finally caught on with her but she is so deep in her manic episode that she believes that they are the attackers that are chasing her. In a fight or flight situation she takes out her gun and fires at them.
    Maybe the gun shot shakes her off enough for her to realise what has happened. In a sudden act of desperation she ends her life. The gun has yet to be found.

      Well done! I came here to post something similar . As a person with bipolar disorder, I can attest that if she was in a manic or depressive episode, she might have been putting things in boxes unwrapped, or put dirty dishes in a box without realizing it. So my first thought was he's taking boxes back in the house to get them packed differently. And they are not speaking to each other so as not to trigger her. My thought about why the truck still had everything in it (RIP that poor dog) is something like they are driving along, something happens that upsets her, she jumps out of the truck. He parks, tells the daughter to wait with the dog, and runs after her. If one of them got hurt and it was taking a while, the daughter might have decided to go find them, or someone came along and saw her alone. BUT, no way a random stranger leaves everything in the truck. What if it was a 'hit'? Could one of them gotten mixed up in something and angered the wrong person? I only know hitmen from TV shows but maybe they don't generally steal from the victims. I've been thinking hard about this, can you tell? :)

      +Elizabeth Culver Edwards The dog survived, actually. But I agree her condition helped put into motion whatever events happened later on.

      but that doesnt explain their act of loading and unloading the car, unless you are saying they been like that from the start, under a manic episode

      Well, I speak from experience, unfortunately. I had a nervous breakdown last summer and for 3 days, refused to sleep and treated my husband horribly with no control over what was happening. Thinking aboutI needing to do something as taxing as packing boxes and moving during that time, it would have taken every ounce of energy both of us had. The manic person is experiencing whatever is happening, and the partner is just trying to hang on and get through minute by minute. Talking takes too much energy.

    Would it be possible to file a FOIA request to acquire relevant video and photos from a case like this?

    These are just some random thoughts & I have no idea if they will help at all in this strange case but the photo that was taken with the Blackberry of the child - whoever took that must have worn gloves right because no strange finger prints found on the cell phone I'm guessing ?? Now, if we assume that the picture was taken by some awful murdering sadistic person who asked the child to pose as if happy, unnaturally, as if they were having fun when really they were very uncomfortable, in order to try and give off that lie to the police (perhaps to do with that dangerous father of the child's father involved or whoever wanted them dead I guess) we may assume it was a murder indeed! A strategically planned one too. The gun that is missing? Someone else must have taken it from her, & it probably used to shoot all of them dead but whoever did it took the gun away with them because they were also the one who took the picture of the child, faking a happy trip out with parents. But if this family was worried about dead threats I wouldn't be surprised if the woman always kept her gun with her for safety purposes. They probably decided their child would be safer not in the public school because of the death threats too, & the possibility that the child would be in danger when they are not at home safe with mum who has a gun to protect them. Maybe the gun was in the brown bag that was never found? I don't know the details about where she liked to keep her gun. The dogs & the water tower that was nearby the place that they went missing ? Maybe they were deliberately drowned in the water there ? Is that possible ? That they could've been drowned in the water & then later the bodies were deposited by the murder or murders together in the wilderness ? The water tower connection is very puzzling indeed,
    Well, those are thoughts anyway I really should watch some more documentaries on this one,

    I think they may have been asked/forced to deliver something to someone - particularly the briefcase you mentioned that was seen in the surveillance footage but not found in the car or with the family.
    So the family, who are preparing to be involved in this exchange, are terrified out of their minds - and take all the time they possibly can to "get ready" for this confrontation because they don't want to do it, but feel that they must in order to move on with their lives. They don't let the Madyson in on what they plan to do, but she can sense that something is not right. They tell her that they're just going on a little trip and to be happy in the photo, but her expression and pose just comes out all wrong.
    Then, upon the exchange, something goes terribly wrong - whatever they were delivering wasn't good enough, or the receiving party just wanted to kill them after all, and whatever happened, happened.

    I feel that the brown briefcase/satchel being missing is a key part of the story.
    I theorize that the missing briefcase was sold to someone. Probably containing drugs or something else of high value. Perhaps the gun was in it.
    This explains the large amount of cash found under the seat AS WELL as the fact that it was the only luggage missing AND potentially where the gun went.
    The place that they took the picture could have been a meeting place for such a deal.
    -----------------
    Why did they take a long time and at least appear to not talk while loading the car?
    I think it's possible that because they knew they were being filmed, they purposely tried to act calm by being slow and unhurried.
    As for not talking; they could have only been silent while outside and spoke in the house.
    The packing and unpacking of the car is weird.
    One thought occurs that they were disagreeing about what should be taken and thus one would pack something and the other would unpack it. I'd need to see the video to have a clear idea of the situation really.
    ALTERNATIVELY
    *They were not leaving the house of their own free will.
    Assume someone has threatened them and is forcing them to leave.
    If someone is watching them to make sure they don't do something like call the police or try and run, then perhaps the family was stalling for time.*
    *Taking what's potentially all of their money makes sense in this scenario. They we're going to try and escape but realized they we're being watched and so tried to act like nothing special was happening.*
    *You can only stall for so long before you look extremely suspicious, so they knew they had to get in the car and drive.*
    ----------------
    The picture of the little girl...
    Lots about this photo is strange.
    I haven't heard about there being other photos taken around the time that was taken. If it's the case that only *ONE* photo was taken and it was this one... that's very strange to me.
    I looked up the image for myself on google images and found the biggest photo size. After doing this I then zoomed in to focus on her face.
    My initial thought was that she was definitely not smiling. If anything she appeared to be crying.
    However, after spending more time analyzing the photo and finding alternate sources with higher quality, I THINK she's been caught having a tantrum. She looks like's she's in the middle of speaking in a complaining way.
    Her folded arms posture seems like she was having a tantrum. So far everything points to her NOT smiling but instead being unhappy.
    I don't believe that it was anyone other than the mother or father taking the photo.
    The reason the girl is looking away from the camera is because she's in a mood and aiming her speech at the person stood where she's looking.
    -------------------
    What reasoning is there to leave $32k, all of your belongings AND your dog, in the car and then walk 3 miles away?
    I'm really struggling to find explanations for this.
    I could see leaving everything if you believed you were coming back shortly. Walking 3 miles away doesn't fit this.
    Forced to at gun point?
    Why didn't they rob the money or phone or wallets?
    Murder-suicide?
    Where's the suicide weapon?
    Accidental suicide? Eating poisonous berries or the like? (this still doesn't explain ending up 3 miles away)
    They believed they would return shortly but for some reason they were unable to return?
    Animal? What animal could they evade for 3 miles that also has the capability to kill all 3 of them?
    Hitman? With the threats and the potential bullet hole in the skull... It can't be ruled out yet at least.

    Three questions are key and are also unexplained. The answer to anyone of these questions could resolve the mystery by itself:
    1. Who was there with the Jamesons if anyone?
    2. Why were the Jamesons there?
    3. How did they die?
    1. An outsider could have been responsible. This alone would resolve the mystery.
    2. The Jamesons could have planned this. This alone would resolve the mystery.
    3. This is the most mysterious of all and holds the key to the mystery.

    Late, but I have a theory about their many trips to load the car. They were aware of the cameras, so maybe it was a way of smuggling the money to the bag, hence them carrying the same items several times (good cash hiders like hiding it in jackets, boxes or similar things.) Great video!
