James Bond Girls Ranked

- When you have some kind of a hero like James Bond, you need some kind of companion to help him out. Here's my ranking of all the principal Bond Women in all the films, including the unofficial ones. I won't be counting secondary characters like Paris Carver or Sylvia Trench, as they deserve their own list sometime down the line. Feel free to disagree with any of my choices, but please do so respectfully.
I know she isn´t realy a Bond Girl in the movie, but i realy liked Ana de Armas as Paloma in "No time to die". She might just appear for a couple minutes but still manages to bring a very charming energy to the scene
Well, she kind of is, but then again, she is kind of just an ally. At some point, I'll do videos on both secondary Bond girls and Bond Allies. Which would you place her?
@@stephenjarvis534
Given that i haven't even wached all the Bond movies, i couldn't do a ranking even if i wanted to.
But due to the stated reasons she would probably rank somewhat high on my short list
@@friedipar Well, I have seen all the movies, and you can take my word that she would rank high, regardless of which group you put her with.
Duckface whatshisname is no Bond.
I would put her as an ally, rather than a secondary Bond girl. There really isn't any romantic/sexual energy beyond them at all, beyond the more comical moment where he asks her to turn around while he changes. For NTTD I would put both her and Nomi as allies. @@stephenjarvis534
Odd coincidence in Diamonds Are Forever. Plenty O'Toole was played by Lana Wood, sister of Natalie Wood. Natalie Wood was married to Robert Wagner and drowned when she fell off their yacht. Plenty is drowned in place of Tiffany Case. Tiffany's actress, Jill St. John, would go on to marry Robert Wagner and they're still married today.
Also, Christopher Walken (Max Zorin) was also on the yacht when Natalie Wood died. They'd recently done a movie together, Brainstorm.
That is a weird set of coincidences.
In fact: Natalie working on her comeback with Walken most probably was the trigger for the drama of that night. Wagner didn't like it, Natalie had invited Walken, and was furious and jealous.
And Wagner went on to play Number 2, a spoof of Largo, in the Austin Powers series.
My #1 Bond Girl for the last 58 years or so is Claudine Auger who played Domino in Thunderball.
Hmmmmm. Hehehehe
agreeed
Bingo!
Diana Rigg no. 1 for me
For bond too, since she's the one he married 👍
Dame!
You are reading my mind!
I think he got it right. Don't get me wrong as Diana Rigg carried that movie where she was in it, but Eva Green just edged it out as number one. Maybe because she had a better Bond to act with.
@@easyfiveOsink I think you are right on here.
Diana Rigg of the Avengers fame. I know you kids probably think of her as an old woman from Game of Thrones. But when she was young, she was incredibly hot.
And she had a voice and posh accent that made the Queen sound like a commoner.
@leftcoaster67 no kidding.
You never took your 👀 off her.
Yes #1 easily. She smokes Eva Green. Not even close.
Dame Diana Rigg and Honor Blackman the two Avengers girls were the best to me
Me and my mom always joke that M is the Bond girl of Skyfall and that she’s our favorite
You're not wrong.
Exactly
One can say eve money penny is bond’s girl in the movie
Hahahaha lmaowroflpimp
If M is the Bond Girl, then good riddance. All she did in Skyfall was complain and whinge and complain some more. Her terrible decisions nearly got Bond killed several times. She created the villain by abandoning him and allowing him to be jailed and tortured. And she never once thanked Bond for saving her life over and over again. Her biting the bullet was the best part of that movie.
I've read the Aki and Kissy actresses switched roles because Akiko Wakabayashi spoke English (or at least better English) and since she had more scenes, decided she'd be stronger for Aki.
Afaik Aki and Kissy were initially meant to be the same character, played by Mie Hama. But she couldn't learn english fast enough so the producers brought in Wakabayashi to replace her (which seems suspicious when you remember that most early Bond girls were dubbed anyway) Regardless as legend has it Hama threatened to commit suicide over being fired so the character of Aki was created to farm good karma. Which would explain why Kissy gets introduced right after Aki gets killed for no reason.
Yeah -- really Aki is the Bond girl.
@@mrspandel5737 That might have happened, except for the "to farm good karma" - there is no such thing.
OTOH, the two cannot be the same character as, as Tanaka rightly points out, Bond's cover requires him to marry a local girl.
@@str.77 karma isn't real?
@guileniam of course not
Diana Rigg was perfect... Number one in my book...
By far - #1 -- not even close by any of the others -- incredible Bond girls all of them but Diana Rigg is #1.
Pam is my favorite. She tends to gets overlooked but she’s the perfect mix of every element that makes a great Bond girl.
Pretty much, yeah.
She's my favorite Bond girl. The scene where Bond took her gun and held her at gunpoint was pivotal and she played it quite well. Plus, when you couple the look on Bond's face when she mentions there is more at stake than his personal vendetta, you get the the impression that was upset at himself for not thinking his vendetta though.
@@stephenjarvis534 She is innitially (acting) indiffrent to Bonds idea of going after Sanchez... But ,she was going down there anyways! ( there is later a sub-plot with stingers, where this is detailed )
She didnt went along with Bond ,"just because". And yes ,she is doing way more than ever given credit
I’m working right now but just saw this was posted! I am SO excited to settle in tonight and really enjoy! Thank you in advance Stephen
I always thought the chemistry between Bond and Tiffany Case was like a married couple who had been together for years, but we’re starting to get on each other’s nerves, but still loved each other
That's a good way to put it.
Nice one! I have not seen "The Living Daylight" for a long time but I remeber so much about Kara Milovy. Felt like real love and you melted when she was sad... She and Havelock are master portraiters in my opinion.
Keep up the lists!
I go back to Living Daylights all the time. I'd rank Kara in my top 5 just because she has a real character arc, and the actress plays it believably. But I don't think I'd call it "love" so much as genuine affection on Bond's part. He really feels for how this woman is being played by forces much bigger than her. She becomes as important to him as the mission.
Tracy, Severine and Pam Bouvier are the Bond girls that I find the most interesting and compelling where the actresses do a commendable job of bringing the characters to life with Onatopp and Fiona Volpe as my favourite Bond villainesses, for the same reasons.
For your eyes only- Melina / Carole Bouquet is the best
If looks was considered definitely would have been in the top 3. She is so cute!! Great character as well!
Jill St. John is by far my all-time favorite. "Diamonds Are Forever" is the first Bond movie I ever saw in the theater (as a kid, of course), and I loved it! I'm not sure why it should come in for such fan disapproval. Most of the criticisms I've heard could be leveled at practically ANY Bond film!
For me Domino is the best one her combination of great chemistry with Sean’s Bone, her feminine personality, her addition to the story and also her attractiveness really takes my top spot.
Should be higher if you take looks into account. IMO you really can't rate Bond girls without taking looks into account.
"Why don't you wait till your asked."
"Then why don't you ask me."
We all know Miss Moneypenny is the one true Bond girl....
Hmmmmm hehehehe
Indeed and how beautiful lois maxwell is.❤
True! And Louis Maxwell was smoking when she was young!
Kara is the only "normal" person in the Bond series, unless you count J.W. Pepper or the woman at the airplane pilot school. I think it works in The Living Daylights because it's not played for laughs.
Diana Rigg is the only No.1. She was the star of the unknown Lazenby. Rigg was brilliant in her role. Rigg was exceptional in that film, the very reason why it became known as one of the more complex Bond movies.
I wish they didn’t kill Vesper she needs to come back. Eva Green is an absolute goddess.
I once worked as an aupair for Carole Bouquet who played Melina Havelock, she and her family were on holiday here in Sweden. Both she and her husband was very kind and warm people, they wanted me to go back to france with them. Unfortunatly I couldn`t but I wish I had kept contact with her.
Lucky!
VERY lucky!
Extremely lucky!
Lucky dude!! On the "looks" side IMO one of the best looking Bong girls.
@@stephenjarvis534 too bad Sweden didn't go to Euro 2024
Eva Green definitely swept me off my feet. She was the best thing in the film.
Can't take your 👀 off her.
Diana Rigg!!
Way too serious. Way too English.
@@dtz1000Way too English? A nice compliment considering Eva Green is French.
It's always been obvious to me that Solitaire is helping Bond to escape in the scene at the Aerodrome
She's also trying to give the impression that she's still loyal to Kananga.
Another great video Stephen! Really dig this one. I agree on pretty much all of the spots on the ranking here.
Appearance wise my favorite is Helga Brandt. I wish they had given her character more to work with.
Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for tragic romances but Eva Green's Vesper Lynd was the best Bond girl for me. Both in the books and the Craig movies she has a profound effect on Bond as a character after the events of Casino Royale. In the novel for On Her Majesty's Secret Service , it's revealed he's returned to lay flowers at her grave every year, in the Diamonds Are Forever novel he skips the Edith Piaf song "La Vie En Rose" because it reminds him of Vesper, and in the Goldfinger novel he's poisoned and believes he's entering heaven but he's more worried about how he's going to introduce Tilly Masterson to Vesper (Tilly had a greater role in the book and he believed she'd also been poisoned). Ian Flemming clearly meant for Vesper Lynd to be the one girl Bond never forgot or got over.
As for Green's portrayal, you get that mix of not putting up with Bond's shit but having that fun back and forth chemistry throughout the movie that Pussy Galore had while simultaneously pulling off the competent assistant to Bond and scared girl way out of her element mixed with causing Bond to question his work in MI6 like Natalya Simonova. The perfect Bond girl for not just the first canonical story but for the entire Bond franchise.
Not sure how you don't get more tragic than Diana being killed at the end of OHMSS. Diana -- most talented Bond actress by far -- not even close.
Camille Montes is meant to be half-Russian, half-Bolivian, which is actually mentioned in the final film. So this is not a case of brown-face, unless we start arguing that her Bolivian roots are more "valuable" than her Russian ones, but we won't go down that route, will we? ;) On a serious note though, I love your videos, keep up the great work man :)
I must have missed the bit of the film where they mentioned it; I only remember the mention of her in the Bolivian Secret Service. If that's true, I apologize, and I'll retract that part of the video. Thanks for the clarification.
@@stephenjarvis534 it’s ok ;) Medrano mentions her mother (« a beautiful Russian dancer/ballerina », I think that’s the line) during his first encounter with Greene, just before she’s introduced to him.
@b.chaline4394 Crap! That's right; I completely forgot about that line. What's worse is that I used part of that scene for the video. Thank you for addressing that point. I'm using the RUclips Editor to cut that part out. Thanks, now I have no regrets putting her in the top 10.
My top three are Pam, Octopussy and Tracy in that order. Those three all have good emotional narratives and I get the following Dalton's and Moore's Bonds would've settled down with Pam and Octopussy respectively.
Diana Rigg hands down every time !! beauty wit wisdom and intelligence and the poetry she recites while asking Blofeld to take her to the Alpine room when she realises Bond & Her father are coming to rescue her drawing on her experience as a shakespear ian actor
Thy dawn, O Master of the World, thy dawn;
For thee the sunlight creeps across the lawn,
For thee the ships are drawn down to the waves,
For thee the markets throng with myriad slaves,
For thee the hammer on the anvil rings,
For thee the poet of beguilement sings.
In acting skill -- no other Bond girl even comes close.
Jane Seymour No.1 for me. Solitaire!
☝🏼this
My top 5 Bond Girls: 1-Mary Goodnight, 2-Anya Amasova, 3-Solitaire, 4-Kissy Suzuki, 5-Tracy(Very sad ending for her.
Maybe they don't qualify, but consider also villain females: Famke Janssen, Barbara Carrera, Maria Grazia Cucinotta
Famke Janssen and Barbara Carrera were included on the Henchmen list. I think the Cigar Girl is fine, but she functions a lot like Patrice. She's not really a character; she's a functional plot device.
@@stephenjarvis534 I will check Henchmen list!
@@stephenjarvis534Did you forget Luciana Paluzzi in Thunderball? The cascade of red hair when she removed the motorcycle helmet.
@@karenklehm1036The heavies are almost always the most intriguing characters. Good guys? We know them. Bad guys? No heavy, no story. Female baddies?, exquisite. (In an awful sort of way). Luciana Paluzzi was perfectly carnal and deadly and enchanting as Fiona Volpe.
Totally agree on your top 3. And great to see some love for Domino as well. She was always one of my favourites.
To be honest i feel that besides being unbelievably gorgeous and having great chemistry with Bond, Vesper wasn't really all that interesting a character.
Couldn't disagree more. She's very conflicted [as shown by her betrayal at the end] and her actions/death hang over Quantum of Solace as well as the Craig series as a whole [similar to the novels].
Agreed -- it was good acting and this dark/damaged role -- but came off kind of fake to me. Diana #1 easily.
Was eagerly waiting for number 1 on the edge of my seat thinking if Eva Green is not there, you are getting banned from my list! 😃
And i vividly recall Ursula getting out of the water back when that released.
Thank you, very nice ranking.
Love your videos. Here’s mine:
1. Tracy
2. Pam
3. Natalia
4. Anya
5. Vesper
6. Honey
7. Octopussy
8. Camille
9. Holly
10. Kara
I like your list better than the person that did this video! Tracy definitely #1. On my end I 'd put Carole Bouquet in your list and drop Honey. Also, I'd drop Camille lower and I'd move Pussy into the top 5. Also, really like Pam and still in top 10, but would rank her lower. Yeah, my top three are: Tracy, Anya, Melina.
37:20 well deserved. Izabel Scuruppco was wonderful. Such a shame that she left the acting scene prematurely.
While Cathy Gale and Mrs. Peel....I mean Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg, would be near the top of my list, for me the loveliest Bond girl is the beautiful, vulnerable and very charming Claudine Auger from "Thunderball".
I haven't seen all the films recently enough to make a list now. It is difficult to make a list one can be happy with as it is sometimes difficult to know who to include. I would rather just include all women Bond has some kind of relationship with in the field whether it be working with them or sleeping with them. It is nice to see Olga Kurylenko's Camille so high on your list, as I thought she did really well in the role and was one of the reasons I enjoyed the film alot.
It's more about the plotting that anything else, but I've never understood why Wint & Kidd didn't kill Tiffany in the order she received the diamonds like everyone else.
They might have mistook plenty for tiffany and killed plenty. Because in a deleted scene plenty o toole would come back to the room where bond and tiffany are making out would make her furious and she would get tiffany's address and this would result in her death
3: Honey Ryder
2: Tracy Bond
1: Vesper Lynd
ueeegggg!!!
On #18: I think the main reason why the love confession was so forgettable was because, at the same time as the scene, they were busy adapting Colonel Sun (the first non-Fleming novel) in the torture sequence verbatim, and so had Madeline basically do the bare minimum because they didn't want the homage to be ruined, but otherwise, I didn't mind the performance (though that's probably because I think that dull surprise is cool).
On #27: I like that bit where Bond leaves Stacey hanging a few seconds to look elsewhere, and that gets a chuckle out of me. Otherwise, she's pretty bland because I don't really judge characters by how whiny their voices sounds or the like.
The whiney bits are an easy example to illustrate the character's problems, I grant you. My bigger problems are: lack of chemistry, lack of importance to the story, and there’s no scene with her that is enhanced by what she does.
@@stephenjarvis534 Yeah that's fair. Like I said, Stacey is very forgettable if you take away the voice, and I can definitely see why she's at the bottom.
I just want to say, that the title sequence for this video was beautiful! Just wow. I really love how clips from the movie were integrated into the graphics and fantastic song choice too!
That's very kind of you. Thanks!
I think you have done a fantastic job here in your video. Mostly I agree with only a couple of changes that I would make. I wish I had space to discuss more. Keep up the good work I will watch more.
Really good list. Rigg for no 1 tho! These videos are great thanks for putting them up!
Not sure if intentional, but you made the top 6 pretty much the best from each Bond era
For me personally, Olga Kurylenko is the most beautiful of all the Bond girls and I'm very pleased that you put her in tenth place, even though the movie itself is not exactly liked by many. Thank you very much.
None of them hold a candle to Diana Rigg.. for people with good taste!
It's interesting I feel it's an age thing. If you're older you're probably going to rank Diana as #1 and if you're younger you're more likely to pick Eva. I'm older -- so definitely Diana!!
@@quantus5875 That's true but I can't really say I'm an old Bond fan. I was born in 1988 (Millennial). Became a fan during the Brosnan years after playing the Goldeneye N64 game. I first saw Majesty's at the age of 13 and it's been my favorite ever since.
Bond's romance with Vesper just felt very toxic. He hated her at first, then "fell in love" for a few days and then ended up sort of hating her again after her death. Bond's love for Tracy felt more pure. Plus Diana Rigg just had an elegance that no Bond girl has ever matched.
@@haissem8 Agreed re: the Vesper romance. A little too dark and didn't come off as believable. I'm older and grew up with Roger Moore as JB in the 70s and 80s. And -- OHMSS is also my favorite JB movie as it is for many. I guess I'm one of a few people that thinks George Lazenby was a fantastic Bond and wish he had done a few more movies. Definite preference for the older bonds: Connery/Moore/Lazenby.
I prefer Kim Bassinger's Domino since she had more strong presence in the movie than the other girl who show up almost half the movie.
Daniela Bianchi is so beautiful, yet she never spoke words in the films. I thought she was the prettiest of all though.
Even though Operation Kid Brother is a pretty bad movie, she looks absolutely stunning in it.
She is 81 wtf sexy she is a grandmother 😮😅
Daniela bianchi was miss rome in miss universe 1962
Really fascinating, excellent video)) I enjoyed hearing your takes and perspectives. My favorite Bond Ladies:
7. Pussy Galore - a very strong character, accomplished
6. Anya Amasova for reasons you outlined
5. Nataliya Simonova also for reasons you outlined
4. Octopussy - I agree with your assessment
3. Tracy - Dame Diana Rigg was an incredible actress. IMO, she carried and made the film. Her character is complicated and Dame Rigg delivered a superb performance.
2. Verper Lynd - What a performance by Eva Green absolutely amazing
1. Domino Derval - I just really like Claudine Auger. I like how she has inner strength despite her lot in life and let's face it, she saved Bond from Largo
To be honest, my top 3 are all in first place. I consider them all equal. Actually, I consider all these characters very close to each other. Very little separates them.
I also think that Aki was more the main Bond lady than Kissy and I really like Akiko Wakabayashi. Just as we saw with the death of Kerim in From Russia, we see Connery pausing to mourn her death.
Though not a Bond woman per se, I like Fiona Volpe (Thunderball). She's an assassin. The femme fatale of the Bond series. Luciana Paluzzi and Connery just had a sizzling onscreen chemistry (as Connery also had with Claudine Auger).
Then there is Judy Dench's M - basically a mother figure for Bond (especially during the Craig era).
Dame Diana Rigg as Tracy Bond is my favourite. She has the best story line.❤
That's a very nice list, and not that far removed from mine. Personally, I'd have Vesper at 5 behind Pam Bouvier at 1, Tracey at 2, Domino at 3 and Natalya at 4. It's a shame you didn't include some of the Bond villainesses in the list as Xenia and Fiona would be definite top fives.😀
Keep up the good work, I'll have to subscribe and watch some of your other rankings.
Interesting you're not the first person that ranks Pam as #1. I really like Pam -- great character -- I'd definitely have her in my top 10.
A fine list, well thought out, great work. There's just one entry I have to disagree, although I can't make as good a point for it as you did. I just love Madeleine Swan. I was on the edge of my seat at least have of No time to die, not wanting her to die.
Why Miranda Frost, Elektra King are not in the list?
@@ManuMiAS 1 per film.
@@stephenjarvis534 it should been Miranda Frost instead of Halley Berry who clearly was better character, and Elektra King was better character than Dr. Christmas who made it into the list.
My selection was not based on quality (I agree with you quite strongly on both characters), but rather their roles. Frost is clearly a secondary Bond woman, so she would never have been here. You could make the argument that King is the main woman of the film, but given that every other woman on this list was an ally to Bond, she stood out in a bad way. Plus, I already had her in the villains video, and at this point, I only wanted to place each character on one list, rather than let them show up across multiple videos.
So, that's why they don't show up here.
I hated all Daniel Craig Bond Movies, but would easily rate Paloma as the number one Bond Girl. A Bond Girl doesn't necessary has to be someone he sleeps with. Despite only being in the movie 5 minutes, Madeleine didn't deserved to serve as Paloma's shadow much less take her spot as a Bond Girl. She was just as a badass as Bond without trying.
The line gets blurry with Bond Girls whenever you try to set criteria, but I also have plenty of nice things to say about Paloma. My big dilemma is whether I'm going to count her as a secondary Bond girl, or an ally when I get around to those lists.
Aki was definitely the Bond girl in You Only Live Twice. And despite The Man with the Golden Gun story losing focus for Agent Goodnight, her scenes were still the best in the movie.
Teresa Bond will always be my #1 Bond Girl.
I always liked Maryam D'Abo
"Fun Fact: #MaryamDAbo is actually the sister of #OliviaDAbo in REAL life people." ☺️💖 #JamesBond007 #MiddlebrooksFanatics♈

A Thousand yes
Agree about Madeleine Swann. I can’t see what Bond sees in her.
You could rank Bond directors next :)
That would be fun. I want to get a few Dissecting Bond episodes out and a video covering my favorite versions of the Bond theme, as well as another one-off of either a different franchise or a special topic. However, I do appreciate the suggestion, and I do keep them in my back pocket for new videos.
While I agree that the worst was Tanya Roberts (and then Britt Ekland)
I have to say that Diana Rigg will always be my number one (and then Honor Blackman)
I'm new to your channel. Just wanted to say, your opening credits for your videos are really cool. I don't see many channels that have something like that.
Izabella is my favourite, best Bond film, best Bond, best Bond theme, best Bond villain, best Bond storyline and did I mention, best Bond girl.
Goldeneye has so many things going for it. It's hard for me not to enjoy it immensely everytime I rewatch it.
would love to see a video about secondary Bond Girls like Bibi, MayDay, Plenty O`Toole... and a video about secondary Henchman like Vargas, Sandor, Whisper...
I definitely plan on doing one on the secondary girls, but anyone I didn't cover in my villains/henchmen will likely only be covered when I get to their respective films, or I don't feel like they are interesting enough to devote much time to in a video.
Whisper will definitely get a mention in my LALD video. Sandor is a maybe, but he doesn't do much. Vargas almost certainly won't be included in my Thunderball video, as the script even calls out that he doesn't do anything.
Well, I won't argue with Eva being cast on the best role, but My heart is solely in the court of Dame Diana Riggs.
If you like kind of dark and damaged Eva was the best role -- Dianna Riggs was by far the best actress, and I think the best role -- her romance with Bond was second to none -- I actually felt that they were deeply in love with each other -- did not get that with the Eva/Bond romance. Not even close.
To me Eva Green’s Vesper Lynd is one of the female characters of all time in this genre.. Wow, what a performance that was.
Diana Rigg a very worthy 2nd.
I I follow, I follow you, deep
Deep baby. Who’s my favourite Bond girl? Looks-wise? The song is played in another movie she starred in
Honor and Diana will always be the best in the early Bond movies.
Isabella and Eva were the best in the later Bond movies.
2:08 shivers. Excellent choice of If There Was A Man from the Pretenders as the intro song.
Maryam d'Abo (beyond a sweetheart), Diana Rigg (#1), and Carey Lowell (regular girl). Lowell is probably the most underrated Bond Girl ever.
What about the late queen , or Judy Dench?
M deserves to be a list of its own. Though I can't believe it never crossed my mind to put Elizabeth II on the list.
Definitely #2 -- behind Diana!! 😂
Goldeneye forever! Natalya and Onatopp in the same flick? (melts)
Well thought-out list!
40:35 The film that really launched Eva Green's career is The Dreamers, made before Kingdom of Heaven.
So captivating in her film debut😎
My mom's favorite Bond movie is For Your Eye's Only mainly because of Melina. She personally loves all of Roger Moore's run as Bond. Not bad having her at 13, especially with your arguments on who and why they are there.
For Your Eyes Only is my sentimental favorite Bond. It brings back childhood memories. melina and the song gets me. But my rational choice of favorite Bond movie is Casino Royale.
Carole Boquet - if rankings took looks into account -- she's be much farther up there.
Live and Let Die was my first Bond film so Jane Seymore will always be my #1.
If you were to consider another top list would you ever consider doing the cars Bond drove?
Oh, definitely. I'm working on some single film reviews and a special long-form review of something currently, but I've got several ranking lists in mind. Versions of the Bond theme would be the next one, but I'm sure Bond cars will sometime next year.
Cracking review of the Bond Women and the whole Bond film franchise !
Everyone has their favourite.
Ursula Andress was mine.
Ratings need to consider looks. Can't rate Bond girls without considering looks. If they had Ursula would have ranked higher.
Honor Blackman, a mature beauty with a voice as lovely as is she.
14:34 It makes more sense when watching the Craig film's in order as Madeline is the first relationship that isn't a one night stand Bond has had since Vesper. It's also feels like Bond has had enough of the spy world as even when he breaks up with Madeline, he stays in retirement.
You said "Calvary" instead of "cavalry." Huge difference.
Yes, indeed, though I got to be honest, I can't recall where in the video I said cavalry. I believe you, though.
23:44 Melina Havelock and Holly Goodhead should be above Tiffany Case. The way her character did a whole 180 degrees in Diamonds Are Forever is laughable at times.
Carole Bouquet on looks alone should be top 5!
Why wasn`t Grace Jones included?! 🤔😶
She's on the Henchmen ranking; I don't like to count people for more than one list.
Great list. Well done! (However, Casino royale 1967 doesn’t deserve notice at all. This inclusion almost nearly threatened to defile the rest of the list, but I gave it a thorough look …how could I not! 😮🥵 …turned out to be a brilliant critique… great job!
My only issue with your list is that Wai Lin is ranked too low for me. But I get your reasons. Great video.
26:03 the devastation of Bond losing and feeling betrayed by Vesper would have been undermined if he just picked up a romantic relationship with Camille. Would not have made any sense and I am glad Olga Kurylenko was given something unique. A good thing about Quantum of Solace I guess
Nice to see Pam so high up.
I also like how you refer to "Roger" and "Connery"
I normally have issues with these kinds of lists, but I generally don't disagree with your ranking
29:34 I thought Lois Chilles' Holly Goodhead was a stark improvement from Barbara Bach's Anya Amasova
Never quite understood why Eva Green's Vesper felt the need to hasten her death in the submerged elevator. Yes, she'd been caught betraying him, but that was part of the deal to save his life. And showing her the lengths he was willing to go to still save her...well, I felt like she betrayed him twice. (Tracy tops Vesper for me.)
Yes -- the whole death scene in the end - felt super contrived.
I do agree with your list except for my wanting to swap the number one and two positions. Eva Green is no Dame Rigg; yet, she did come the closest by a longshot.
Those two are always vying for the number one spot in my mind.
@@stephenjarvis534 Eva is a great actress -- my problem with ranking Eva as #1 is that the romance is just too dark for my tastes -- and doesn't seem as convincing. With Diana you really feel that she is in love with Bond -- I don't get that with Vesper.
As much as i adored Tracy, Vesper wins no.1 without a doubt.
No. Tracy is #1. No contest. Vesper is a great character but Tracy is amazing!
For other Female Actresses that arent bondgirls, Daphne Deckers did a great job for a small piece of screentime
I feel like Monica Belucci's character is missing on the list. She had a very small part in the SPECTRE movie, but her 5 minute performance simply overshadows that of Lea Seydoux.
@@leftnoname 1 choice per film. She'll be included when I do part 2.
@ Thanks!
Monica Bellucci is sooo sexy with that voice and body she'd overshadow anyone else.
14:04 I cant believe they used the "We Have All the Time In The World" instrumental for Madeleine Swan and Bond's relationship. Its not the same as Tracy Di Vicenzo and Bond.
I thought Kim Basinger was great in LA confidential. She had some scenes in Batman that I thought was good acting when he’s trying to tell her that he’s Batman, and in the Batcave also the best performance was Waynes world 2
She's fine, and she's by no means bad. She's just never moved the dial for me.
Vesper Lynd is the PERFECT Bond girl. She is a strong woman who does try to help him on his mission but one who doesn’t take ANY of Bond’s BS in the process. She very much challenges Bond as a man. She’s smart, witty and independent on her own merits and never “needed” Bond. And yet despite everything she goes through, she is still very much a very complex character. The scene in Casino Royale with her, Bond and the shower after she just witnessed Bond killing a man in the stairwell is cinema perfection. You truly feel as if Bond is probably for the first time in a LONG time, allowing himself to become vulnerable with another person. During Craig’s entire run as James Bond, Vesper loomed large over EVERYTHING he did. The lasting impact she made on him is inarguable. She is the woman who set him on his path to be the hero we all have come to love.
Michelle Yeo for me
@@michaelcameron2292 you always like the Communist.
One has to remember something about Olivia D’abo…It was a freaking Miracle that she was able to give ANY kind of quality performance at all BECAUSE SHE WAS SEVENTEEN WHEN SHE FILMED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS!! She is at least FIVE years younger than her character is and I thought she was decent enough but much better than Anyone could’ve expected from a teenager
Um... You got the wrong d'Abo. Olivia is very talented, but she's not playing Kara. It's her first cousin Maryam, who is about 8 years older than Olivia.
