Getting hyped to try out prot pala in cata with all your videos coming out. Be interesting to see how the rotation changes or if it's fairly static like it is in WOTLK. I agree with you about not feeling like a full prot until fairly late as I just levelled a new one so maybe I'll have to level another on in cata. Also looking forward to seeing the changes to prot war as I've been spending more time on all the other tank classes. The main question though is are you going to stay with belf or go full chonk with tauren?
It's a lot of fun! Prot pally definitely changes a bit in Cata and the new rotation is more dynamic than 969 but still somewhat similar. I'll have a vid coming out for that soon, and prot war changes as well. I'm still not sure which race I'm gonna go
From what I've seen bdk+feral is the dominant combo early but a prot pally with ret offspec should be able to fill that feral spot fine. Prot pally starts to get a lot better once you have Firelands gear, but by the time you have that gear, there's only 1 raid tier left to prog. I think you'll be able to get away with MTing as a prot pally if you're gonna be progressing a little slower. Groups that want to week 1 clear should have a blood dk, but if your prog is gonna take longer and you'll have time to pickup gear, prot pally should be fine
Yah I'm all in on Cata. SOD is just the new thing and retail/classic are at the end of their expansions. Once there are new things to do in the other versions I think SOD will die down quite a bit but still have a decent playerbase

Been leveling on Maelstrom for the past few days. Kinda enjoying the new protpala play style. Any thoughts on how the cats tanking meta would be?

Cata hyped for sure.. SOD looks more and more like Cata Minus.. I dont understand how ppl can be more hyped about SOD over Cata
