HONOLULU, Hawaii (July 19, 2009) The HSUS assists in the rescue of nearly 400 animals from an alleged hoarder in Hawaii.

Awwww the little dog at the end was just like "hold me and never let go" how could you put a dog like that in a cage!?!?
Of all of the hsus videos I've watched tonight, because of that dog at the end, this is by far the most touching. I can't imagine the relief she must feel getting held up off of her poor little feet and in the arms of someone showing her love.

I find it difficult not to cry watching this video, I can't fathom how people can do this to these animals. As the man said, they just want to me pets, to loved and appreciated.
Oh my god... I can't believe what people do to these defenceless animals!!! I cried myself through this entire video. But Im really glad all of these animals ended up being saved, what you guys do to help these animals is truly amazing and heart warming

After watching a few of these videos and bawling my eyes out, I realized that it wasn't enough to just "feel" for these animals and "appreciate" the workers. I clicked on the website and became a member and signed up to donate monthly. Hey, I don't have a lot of money and times are tough but seems like times are a lot tougher for so many others. God Bless these angels and their guardian angels, the HSUS and other organizations like this!

What is so wonderful is that when the rescuers come onto a site, to help and remove the animals....very often, sick, injured and weak as these animals are, they still wag their tails, and are glad to be saved. It touches me so deeply.

If you ever get a chance to read my comment. I know this video was posted years ago , but I am just now finding the videos posted by the organization. I just want you to know that when you held that dog in your arms and said that’s what the dog has wanted all of his life. Made me
want to fall to my knees and thank you for the love that you have given these animals for all of these years. Your amazing love, along with the other volunteers is truly something that is so desperately needed in this cruel world.

Those of you who are working to save animals are those with the greatest heart. Helping a defenseless suffering animals who do not understand their situation and then help them to become healthy and get the love they worth the biggest thing to do I think. +The Humane Society of the United States HSUS consistently receives D grades from Charity Watchdog, not only for spending a ton of money on salaries and fundraisers instead of donating to shelters, but also for misleading their donators about how much of their money is actually going to animals in need. People just don’t realize that local shelters aren’t even supported by HSUS and as little as 6% of donations go to supported programs.
+sophia plays HSUS only gives 1% of their money to shelters, mostly for spay, neuter clinics. These "rescue" videos are only commercials. HSUS owns no shelters, so they won't be caring for these animals. So for your 100 pounds, only about 1 pound will go to shelters animals,
4 pounds will go to the HSUS benefits plan,
18 pounds will be stored in Caribbean "investments", and
20 pounds will be sent overseas to who knows where via HS International. Most of the rest will go to high priced lawyers and lobbyists to try to deprive animal owners of their rights. I hope that's what you expected!

This is so emotional! The poor animals! You can really see how happy they are about beeing rescued... on our stud we're also saving animals from the slaughter. They can spend their whole life with us on sunny meadows. I really respect everyone who's helping animals. God bless you!

This is what we do here... Trying to give them ¨a new chance to live with love¨... This shelter takes only the dogs that was diagnosed as: Irrecoverable, and sent to be put asleep.... Tonight, there´s around 1000 dogs sleeping there, with some volunteers taking care of them... Thank´s for sharing!!

This makes me so sad that some people are okay doing those terrible things to animals, neglecting them and not caring for them if they belong to you. But it also makes me happy that there ARE people who care, and seeing these people going in and saving these animals' lives just completely warms my heart. This is what I want to do with my life.

This breaks my heart to see this suffering but I smiled @ those that are smiling , wagging tails even though they have been through such neglect . "Now they will live as the family member they were always meant to be." Powerful statement right there. Anyone who says, "Oh, it's just an animal, it's just a cat, it's just a dog," is absolutely heartless. I cherish every single day on this Earth with my animals, my cat and my hamster. I've never had the privilege of welcoming a dog into my family, but one day I will and I just can't wait. Animals are so special and my family will never be complete without them.
+Lynn S Except for all the ones they had to euthanize. Which is probably most of them. Don't believe HSUS hype. They hardly give any money to shelters, so they don't care for them afterward. They show up at big rescues as a glorified transport service to get promotional footage like this.

This almost made me cry. I used to work at an animal hospital and my mother in law breed champ dobies. I couldnt imagine a dogs nails evre getting that long...so sad. This guy is a hero in my book and anyone else who does this kind of work

I already saw many videos on youtube were they show what happens in mills or slaughter houses, it's horrible! But I never saw a video were they saved those animals. Thank you HSUS , for what you are doing!

Hoarding is one of the most-sickening epidemics worldwide. It is selfish; very much opposite of what the 'hoarder' intended; but monsterous nontheless. Bless the rescuers all over the world. There is so much that can be done; by animal lovers whose hearts break at the very sight and thought of what goes on. How could this be allowed to get to this point? Please report this situation when 'you' see it getting out of hand; this is way out-of-control.
Trish I agree 100 percent...hoarding animals is VERY selfish. Why keep these beautiful creatures when they know full well they won't be cared for properly? It's SICK!!

Oh and I really hope the dog Rowdy talked about and checked out made it through... I fell in love with this hurting creature right away... breaks my heart to see animals suffer like this.:( Please don't ever stop doing what you do!
