Hi vivmom I loved your video as always .I cannot choose a favourite as they are all my favourite thankyou for shering your makes you and your family are so wonderful you brighten up my day look forward to the next video 👗👖👕😊Dawn from England
Loved this collection of wonderfully made garments. Was especially blown away by the 1960s Butterick dress! I make lots of dresses from vintage 1960s and 1970s patterns for friends and I sooooooo wish I had that same fabric!
I absolutely love all of it.Thank Brad for being supportive. Not many men are. You are such a joy to see what you make. I'm learning late in life. But you have given me inspiration and I keep trying. Thank you for showing us.
I swear, if you get any better at sewing, choosing fabric and patterns that look great together, and making alterations to designs, some big company will snap you up and you will have to abandon your viewers. We’ll all be sad and miss you. You really do some awesome work. Your dreary, rainy days are great for me. That’s invariably when my 3yr old Fairfax, VA grandson likes to spend time indoors FaceTiming with me.
All of your outfits are gorgeous on you & your hubby, but I absolutely love you in fall colors, so the beige jacket, top & cinnamon skirt just makes you look so together! Lord Jesus bless you & yours....Old Grandma👵❤
Nice navy pants and top. Classy That pale jacket looks great with the skirt. I was wrong about the jacket not being your color. You put it together and it’s wonderful. I like the stripes with the stole thanks.
Always nice to see your makes, Viv. I particularly like @5:07, the fabric is GORGEOUS. Sadly, I am too bulgy for a shift dress. @7:30 that is a very polished look. Perfect for an evening out. @12:11, love the skirt and it goes well with @14:09 but again a pencil skirt is not for me.
Just another fan saying how awesome all your makes are! Everything looks great on you… and Brad looks very handsome in his shirt and shorts. My husband wants me to make him a copy of a jacket he had a million years ago. Yikes!
Love your Makes in Minutes!!! WOW! You can't beat a dollar a yard!!! I really need to get Quick Sews' zipper instructions. These were WOW! And it's hard to believe it's already September.
Everything looks wonderful! Before watching your videos, I wouldn't have thought of omitting zippers or buttons. I giggle each time you mention, "And you know what? I didn't add the zip because it didn't need it! " Thank you so much for sharing your makes!
Yup. LOLOL! :)) Definitely ready for a flood. LOL. Love the navy n white fluffy top. Very busy looking, but very cute. Also love the jacket and total outfit. Would be a cute denim skirt. Goes great with the autumn blouse. That super long jean-style skirt would be great in wide wale corduroy and worn for a Christmas entertaining event, while enjoying cocktails in front of a crackling fireplace. Cute nightie redo. Great job on all your August makes. Thanks for sharing.
The first out fit for hubs was great on him. Really love your makes you made for you too. I really like the wide leg pants and top, classy. The flowy have and white top is beautiful. Love the jacket.
This is one of the prettiest “makes” ever! They are all winners! I love the navy pants and top! And that skirt and jacket are superb! Such a nice suit! Then pairing the floral top with the skirt is another winner! I would not have thought I would like the flowy top from the wide leg pants-flowy top pattern, but pairing it with the skinny pants is perfect! I do not like the wide legged pants with the flowy top at all! But separately with the garments you paired them with they are perfect! I’m so short that wide leg pants look horrible on me, but they are beautiful on you! I love them and wish I could wear them but it would truly be a joke! Ha! And the dress from from the 60’s pattern in the very modern fabric turned out so cute! I love those 60’s patterns and it is a silhouette I have always loved! It’s flattering on just about every body type! All the other “makes” are great, too! Winner, winner - chicken dinner! 😘😎😍
Ooh my, both of you know how to model the garments! And your vision s for the fabric is amazing. Love that you styled your hair different for every pieces. You know your stuff. You are always calm, enthusiastic and positive person.
I love your channel! It has been so inspiring to see all that you have sewn, and I look forward to your monthly makes videos! I especially like that you don't try to copy the fabric shown on the pattern; I love seeing the pattern in "real life" on a real body after seeing the line drawing. Keep up the good work, this is a wonderful channel and you seem like a delightful, positive person!
You never disappoint . Love all of your sews. Wish I could get out of my funk and be more productive with sewing. I see your beautiful work and get inspired but, when I have to find fabric, it all fizzles. I have tons of fabric but of course, nothing works with the patterns I have chosen and there is never enough fabric to make it. I try to shop online but, I just can’t get into it. Joann is my only option and I never find anything I like. I’m tired of settling for less than what I want. That’s why I stopped sewing years ago. Got back into the groove about 5 years ago but, fell into the same slump again and now just can’t get my sew Jo back. Sometimes I don’t care for the fabric patterns that you pick out but, you never fail to surprise me with the end result. In one of your videos you talked about being discouraged to sew and that you just have to do it! I need to put that video on repeat, with loud volume so that it will sink in. I need my sew jo back!
These “makes” videos always make me smile! You literally look great in everything! Brad is adorable too! Awesome couple, fun videos, yay sewing! Thanks for the joy 🤗
You look super in all you makes this month. Brad' are wonderful as well. The jacket and skirt are so perfect. I could see the skirt fabric as the jacket and the jacket fabric as the skirt. The babydoll dress conversion to night gown is darling on you. So cute. The Missouli print dress fits you perfectly. I was thinking the scarf wouldn't work until you put it around your neck, then "BAM" It is fabulous. The dress goes from ordinary to extraordinary. It creates a longer line from top to bottom. And it makes you look a little "SASSY". See. You don't know until you try it. Excellent results in every case. I think you have grown in your work since I have been following you. You are now "a garment designer"! I am never disappointed with your monthly makes.
Viv, I have tuned in just an hour after you post this video, and you have so many comments I have read them and agree with all of the viewer when it come to picking pattern to fabric you ace it every time. Brad it is always lovely to see you!
Your “high flood” pants outfit looks great! On myself, I like full length pants, but the shorter length on you is great! The top of $1 fabric is gorgeous
💜 after a long day, your makes, make me smile. I wish we could have a Vivmom makes every 2 weeks!! Every outfit is fabulous, and I think you’ve lost some weight?!!!! I’m a girl of the 60’s and I just love those styles! And I remember the patterns as well. Thumbs up to Brad! 💜💕💜
I love the dress made using the Calvin Klein pattern and the colorful and bright fabric. You look absolutely stunning in it. I actually like all your August makes but the skirt you wore as part of the suit really surprised me once you paired it with the floral top.. That is a really cool and classy outfit to wear throughout the fall.
I so enjoy your monthly makes videos. Loved all your garments, but wow, that outfit with the navy pants and navy top with the big add-on stripe at the bottom was SOOOO classy. Loved it. Totally loved it!
Wow! Some really great pieces. I love the second dress. The little scarf in the middle of the video, twist it around a purse strap or just tie it on the bag. I am still working on my 80's shorts pattern and they just need a hem and closure button. I also sewed a yellow corduroy chore coat and it just needs buttons. I loaded a quilt on my longarm machine and I have been staring it down for a week now and still don't know how to quilt it. I think I am going to make a bag while I ponder the quilting standoff.
So I came in here to comment about how I wish I could get you to come to my house and pair up my fabrics with my patterns. I kept marveling with every new piece you showed us. Great job! Ps. I’m not even joking. Any time you come time lower Michigan, please let me know. You (and Brad) must be our guests!!!!
It is a lot of fun to see what you were making. When I finish knits I use a double needle to put a hem on it so that it has a more of a professional finish. You do need to use 2 spools of thread on top but it creates a zig zag on the back so it works well on knits. It will up your game a little bit. I never trust serged edges because if one of those threads start to come loose you can end up with a mess in no time flat. Keep sewing, its very therapeutic.
🌺 So much of what you have made these past months are spot on. Everything you make looks so pretty on you. Love everything you made in August. Can't wait to see September's.
Adorable as usual! Your hair looks very cute that length! I particularly like your little check dress - so fresh! And Brad’s outfit looked very smart. Side armhole darts are definitely a thing. I find them essential for a good fit; I have large bust on a small frame and there is always a gape. sew them into all my, even those I buy. I shouldn’t but I just baste them in and then hand sew them. It always looks perfect. I find either a high or low armhole dart will fix must gaping on anything sleeveless. Again another month of fun and creative sewing! Thanks Viv💕🌞
Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to us all who love to sew and push on regardless of what happens to our brave efforts to make our owe clothes. Zeta Perth WA
Your outfits are beautiful. U look great in every thing you make. Your clothes never look homemade. You husbands outfit looked really nice on him! Great job. Love the fact he supports you in your love for sewing and fabric.
I love the 60s Missoni-like dress👍 It looks modern when you wear it. If you wear it with a coat, when it gets cooler, I bet you won't feel odd with the scarf.
Cannot pick a favorite… every single one is awesome. Really encourages me to get out of my comfort zone in sewing. I so look fwd to the end-of-the-month fashion show.
You don’t need another comment, but I just have to say I saw several favs BUT the blue top and pants is my very favorite. The high water pants look great on you because you are tall. Thanks for the show!!!
Everything you made looks great! I really love that floral navy and white loose top and the brown skirt and Fall floral top together. Beautiful! I have fabric sitting and waiting for me and patterns. Have not had the “want to” to start something new. Just finished an almost king sized quilt and finished the binding last weekend. I just needed a little break between sewing projects!
Love what you sew this month. It always amazes me how good your choice for vintage patterns turn out, as when I look at the patterns I say No No that looks too out of fashion than I see your sewn item and immediately change my mind. .well done Viv you really do a wonderful job with all your fabrics and patterns.
LOVED that shift. Reminds me of the late 60's. Our taste in pants is the same. The navy is so clean. I would love that outfit. EVERYTHING was great this month. You were on a roll!
Viv, you have another month of winners. When I saw simplicity 9149 my first thought was ugh awful! You did the top and the pants justice with your choice of fabrics and what you paired them with. I love them. All your makes are winners. Great job.
I just get such a kick out of your enthusiasm! It is always a treat to see what you have sewn up! That kwik sew skirt 2788 really got my attention and I was able to purchase it off ebay. You really have an impact on your viewers. I mostly gave up on sewing garments and you have made me gingerly get back into it. I too think that skirt will be quite something made of denim
That was a fun fashion show! I was delighted to find this video up when I got home this evening. You never disappoint. Your creative approach to sewing inspired when you take steps to style it in a way that suits your taste and time schedule. My only suggestion is for the jazzy striped scarf/shawl at the end. I wonder if it might work as a tie around your waist. It isn't needed but no harm in seeing what happens with that thought. Brad looked great in his summer T-shirt and shorts. Thank you for sharing your talents, time, and family. So much fun! All the best to you and yours. Sincerely, Anita
K, just had to stop 2/3 thru to say , your sewing game is tremendous...your fabric choices with the bang on pattern is a skill I keep trying to obtain....Brava
Loved all of the outfits - my favorite is the navy top and wide leg pants just adorable. You are so clever at picking the right fabrics to match patterns. I have a lot to learn from you. I had to special order the Simplicity 8556 it's on it's way and I am going to follow the sew along that you did for this pattern. Wish me luck - 🙂
Great fabric and pattern choices. I’m trying to sew through my stash and trying to match my patterns up with what I have on hand this is great inspiration.
This is one of the best videos you've created. Your fabrics and patterns coordinated beautifully and you seemed pleased with the results. I'm impressed that you take inexpensive fabric and make elegant clothing.
So many elements that go into your process of being a creative designer, pattern choice, fabric selection, complimentary figure features. You really have the skills of a fashion designer. Such wonderful makes, thanks for all your lovely videos 😄
Brad is such a good sport. I love the look of the shorts on him. My husband is a shorter man and had a problem getting shorts to be at a good length for him. But I am not sure I would. Enjoy making shorts for him. He is real picky. Love everything you made for yourself. I was ohhhing and ahhhing all over the place. You must enjoy having something new to wear every month.
Hi Viv👋 I like August's combination of fabrics, even Brad's garments co-ordinated with yours. Thankyou for sharing your inspiring talents. Regards to you and your family🤗🙏
Thanks so much Vivmom! Once again, you inspire me ! I bought a Teeshirt pattern for my partner, so I hope it’s as good as the tops you sew for Brad. 💞🌹🌺
Brad's looking pretty dapper there , love all your makes Vivmom , your navy ankle outfit looks so nice on you , as do all your outfits , thanks much for all you do....
Luv u!!! Would love to watch you do a thrifty episode where you dig into your stash, fabrics and patterns and get creative 70’s patchwork, mixed fabric look…we have so much fabric that we’re bored of, one yard of this, one and a half of that, I can’t justify buying fabric! Please help inspire meeeeeeeeeee!😊💕💕💕💕💕
I especially like that skirt. The loose tops are great on you and do not look the least bit maternity which I always think that style will look on me. I also love to hear you say it was only a dollar a yard. Everything is so beautifully tailored that all your pieces look hi end. Also your bobbed hair is very flattering. You make it so easy to enjoy to enjoy this channel just by being you. PAM
WOW I loved all of your makes my favorite was the skirt and jacket and the blouse and the night gown all very beautiful. Your my inspiration to sew God bless
What a good hubby he is he absolutely looks great in what you made him very proud of you I think! You are both such lovely people .
I think my fav is the $1/yd black and white flowy top. You look like a million bucks in skinny jeans - ❤️
Brad Dad looks spiffy!
Hi vivmom I loved your video as always .I cannot choose a favourite as they are all my favourite thankyou for shering your makes you and your family are so wonderful you brighten up my day look forward to the next video 👗👖👕😊Dawn from England
Your last dress fits you perfectly!
Loved this collection of wonderfully made garments. Was especially blown away by the 1960s Butterick dress! I make lots of dresses from vintage 1960s and 1970s patterns for friends and I sooooooo wish I had that same fabric!

You did great in August. WOW!
"Brad Dad" is a trip! He is all in! Team Player! You chose well for a husband!
I agree! You seem to have a better eye for these things than some of the so called professionals!
Love your cute "Missoni", and Bradwear, you make my day!
Makes are fab…..thank you for sharing x
All of your outfits are gorgeous on you & your hubby, but I absolutely love you in fall colors, so the beige jacket, top & cinnamon skirt just makes you look so together! Lord Jesus bless you & yours....Old Grandma👵❤

Nice navy pants and top. Classy That pale jacket looks great with the skirt. I was wrong about the jacket not being your color. You put it together and it’s wonderful. I like the stripes with the stole thanks.
Your most beautiful collection to date!!! Inspiring!!
I’m swooning over the Calvin Klein dress with giant print. ❤️❤️❤️❤️Great job great on your August makes. I’m inspired!
Love all your makes!
A little yellow ribbon bow on the bodice or waist of your "nightgown" would really finish it off. Great fashion show.

I absolutely loved the navy wide leg ankle pants and matching top! Your so pretty in all of them though!
How gorgeous are all your combinations and the colours are lovely. Autumn is around the corner and you've inspired us all. Thanks Viv.
I especially like the three piece outfit. I often tie scarves to my handbag to lift an outfit
Everything looks wonderful! Before watching your videos, I wouldn't have thought of omitting zippers or buttons. I giggle each time you mention, "And you know what? I didn't add the zip because it didn't need it! " Thank you so much for sharing your makes!

This is one of the best videos you've created. Your fabrics and patterns coordinated beautifully and you seemed pleased with the results. I'm impressed that you take inexpensive fabric and make elegant clothing.
LOVED that last dress though all your makes look great!
So many elements that go into your process of being a creative designer, pattern choice, fabric selection, complimentary figure features. You really have the skills of a fashion designer. Such wonderful makes, thanks for all your lovely videos 😄
The fabrics match the patterns well and look so classy. It's cool to see both you and Brad modeling your makes together.
Love all your makes and it’s always good to see your top model, Mr. Brad. 😊
Enjoyed all your makes. Thanks so much for sharing 💖🤗
Nice collection!
I like the scarf with your vintage Butterick .
Thanks for sharing 🙂

Brad is such a good sport. I love the look of the shorts on him. My husband is a shorter man and had a problem getting shorts to be at a good length for him. But I am not sure I would. Enjoy making shorts for him. He is real picky. Love everything you made for yourself. I was ohhhing and ahhhing all over the place. You must enjoy having something new to wear every month.
Loved all the pattern and fabric selections. But, Vogue 1802 is my jam. I Love that dress pattern!
That sash would make an adorable band around your hair
Hi Viv👋
I like August's combination of fabrics, even Brad's garments co-ordinated with yours.
Thankyou for sharing your inspiring talents.
Regards to you and your family🤗🙏
Thanks so much Vivmom! Once again, you inspire me ! I bought a Teeshirt pattern for my partner, so I hope it’s as good as the tops you sew for Brad. 💞🌹🌺
You have a good eye for matching fabrics with patterns. The simpler design with great fabric is a real win on a number of these makes. Well done.
They are all awesome. I especially like the last, V-neck dress. You always pick great fabrics in beautiful colors.
You never disappoint. Everything was stunning and inspiring. Loved how you repurposed that maxi dress into a nightie. Clever lady!
