I have been sewing, quilting, cross stitching and embroidering for 62 years and the joy and love of it has not diminished at all. It’s truly a blessing to have this desire or talent or whatever you call it. Happy creating!!!!

I think one of the reasons I have so many UFOs is because I pick such big projects and life gets in the way. Your suggestion to do small projects/time slots may be what I need. Thank you!

Hi Emma .. This is Zee here from Dubai , Middle East. I happened to stumble upon your channel and I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed listening to your journey and I am looking forward to taking up your advice. I have been sewing for the last 10 years but not very consistent. Every time thee is some distraction and right now I have a very inquisitive toddler who likes to touch and explore all my sewing stuff so just to be cautious Im not able to sew as much and it definitely frustrates me.Sewing actually makes me happy & I agree to what you said about " taking care of ourselves to be able to take care of our family " and that is what I want to practice this 2025. I was just telling myself this morning that I need to end my day with a bit of embroidery rather than scroll mindlessly on the phone. This would help me unwind and be charged to tackle my day . I have joined an embroidery club and hoping its going to keep me on track . Thank you for this video and look forward to many more.
    -love and prayers from Dubai

Hi Zee, lovely to meet you, thank you for telling me about yourself. It’s so easy to scroll and forget about what really brings us joy isn’t it. I’m going to try harder to leave a project out ready so I can just pick it up when I have a spare minute. Even just 5 minutes is better than none. Not easy with a toddler about, it will get easier though. Wishing you lots of peace and happiness with your sewing this year 🌸

Learning to slow down a bit so you can enjoy sewing without the stress, that is what I now aim for. I feel that the 'slow stitch' ethos helps with that change in attitude. Feel the fabric and enjoy the process - yes, I agree with you on that.

I restored a vintage yo yo quilt took 800 hrs I appliquéd the entire yo yo quilt onto a sheet circle by circle then I hand quilted the entire quilt. You’ve inspired me to finish my crazy kitty quilt embroidered blocks mixed with different 9 patch of cats doing things like driving ect. I hand quilt everything it was a dream and goal as a child it’s taken 52 yrs to master this talent but I truly love it.

What a lovely little video so calming to listen and watch while you stitch it certainly is good for your soul I first started slow stitching in 2018 after making my first ever quilt (which was a no waste quilt) never had so much left over material 😂😂, anyway I was going through hell at work from bullying and I started doing little hand stitched cards just so this material wasn't wasted and I became hooked ,love it ❤ . I now look after my mother, who has dementia after taking early retirement from work, and again, stitching has saved me. Can't recommend it enough

Good morning. Thank you so much for sharing your message with me and your followers. Your message touched me since I can relate. I'm an empty nester and unemployed. My hobbies are crafts, sewing, and trying new recipes for cooking and baking. My favorite is sewing , and I've been an amateur in that department for many years. Your embroidery reminded me of when I learned it as a teenager. Since then, I have not embroidered. Watching your video has motivated me to try it again and add it to baby quilts. I look forward to watching your other videos. May you have a beautiful day.

I really enjoyed this. Visually it was beautiful and since I am on a very tight budget right now there was something really satisfying about watching your hands go through all of these things. It felt almost like shopping but without any money spent. I also found a lot of inspiration in the way you have things organized and displayed. I have already entered 2025 knowing that this is the year I am going to get back to sewing and crafting with my hands. Just yesterday I decided to take an extra toon in the house and clean it out to make a crafting /sewing area. I’ve subscribed to your channel and I do think I’ll make my own version of a happy memories quilt. I love the idea of doing it just work on it and not so much making it as a piece to be finished and used.

I really enjoyed your video, for the first time I could see it isn't so difficult to sew hexagons! I have ME/CFS and have to rest a lot, and I tend to over complicate things in my head! You have given me the confidence to have a go! I bought a monthly quilt kit to make my grandson a seaside quilt, but haven't had the confidence to get started! But now I feel I want to give it a try! Lovely video Emma, those fabrics are gorgeous, I definitely need to collect more of them for my stash. I like the idea of a seasonal slow stitch book, you could add your lovely embroidery into it too. Leela xx❤

Happy New year Emma! I started sewing since I retired last year and I love it. I do all sorts, cross stitch, surface embroidery, all and patchwork. I also knit and crochet. I love your videos, I find them really relaxing as well as informative. Thank you for your time.xx

What a beautiful video.. I came across this by chance. It really lifted my spirits. The whole thing was a joy. Both Visually and audibilly (is that a word?) Your voice is so soothing, but also interesting to listen to. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience of hand sewing. It has reminded me of the joy I got from hand sewing some teddies once when I was recovering from surgery. My mother was a seamstress and milliner so any sewing has been intimidating for me. Crochet has been my passion since retiring but now you've given me the tools and mindset to get creative with the needle too! Woohoo!

I loved this video. You inspired me to do some work on an embroidered quilt for my daughter. I actually started it over a year ago and it was to be a gift for the Christmas just gone. I feel sure it will be finished for the coming Christmas. And I absolutely love your memory quilt. 😊💕

    Hello Emma,
I happened upon your video this morning and I am truly inspired. I do like to sew by hand and machine and hand embroidery. It is this time of year that I like to embroider so I got out a set of stamped pillowcases and will begin shortly on this snowy day. Thank you from Ontario, Canada ❤

I’ve just ordered hexagon pre-cut cards and some fabric to try EPP I normally sew clothes but my sewing area is in the front room my husband has terminal lung cancer and sleeps a lot in the front room so i don’t want to disturb him. I need a hobby that I can sit quietly and do that stops my mind wandering to dark times ahead. I love watching your videos and love your projects

I think the Elmhirst fabtic would be lovely joined as they are with strips of ivory coloured solid with embroidery like book titles of things on fabrics and the fabrics will look like book covers.
