Love Wawak! I bought some presser feet that help me to sew on edges of fabric in varying widths for my straight stitch only machine called compensating feet! And have bought other products that are very handy and well made and good prices. A return was very easy as well. Good info on your video!! 😊
Wow! I have been sewing for years, butI had not known about Wawak until now. Thanks so much for the introduction...I stopped your video right in the middle and went immediately to find their website (Sorry Nikki...it was just too tempting!🤭). I did come back and watch all the way through! My sewing machine doesn't like low quality thread either. Most inexpensive brands break constantly. Since switching to Gutterman I have had no issues.
I loooove wawak. I saved so much money buying a ton of zippers, thread, Velcro, elastic , little snips. 😂😂. Omg I got their version of bias tape makers for insanely cheap too. Wawak is the best, and they ship so quickly.
I have been a Wawak customer for YEARS. You didn’t mention the fantastic prices on their zippers. And they have them available in a wide variety of colors, sizes and types. I should be a rep for the company. When I am at Joann I always tell people about Wawak, because of the difference in price for thread and zippers. Plus, as you pointed out, they have a vast number of products available and you can receive your order in just a couple of days, thanks to warehouses on both coasts. I have always been happy with everything I purchased. Shipping is free for orders over $100.00. If you don’t need $100.00 worth, check with your family and friends and combine your orders to save money on shipping. Even if you end up having to pay for shipping, your total will still be less than shopping at Joann or a quilt shop. They carry 400 colors of Gutterman polyester thread. And they have a wide variety of types of thread. I.e. blue jean, rayon, serger, etc. They have just about everything, except regular fabrics. It’s predominantly notions and tools, including irons.
Waywak has those heat pens too. Great I wanted that board too and new it was from a quilt show. Didn't write the name down so thanks for that. And that needle threader is what I really need thank you again. Great info.
Best marking tool is Crayola washable markers. Crayola only! Comes out in the washer. I’ve been using them for years and never had a problem. I also love Wawak. I need a good source for interfacing. Thanks Nicki
The needle threaders look great, but if you have the kind that usually break apart, you can just put a dot of glue where the parts join and they will not fall apart.
Love Wawak! I’ve been buying supplies from them for many years when I had my drapery business. Now I use their Amann Saba thread for sewing rope bowls. At $2.35 for 1093 yards it is a great price and sews beautifully! Have you ever bought one of those lazy Susan rotary cutting mats? They look like they would come in handy for quick cutting and trimming.
One of My newest FAVORITE tools is the herra marker by clover. Have used it to help hold needle in place when changing machine needles to holding fabric for narrow overcasting with no fear of catching my fingers. Absolutely love this find more than the purple thang.
I love both Guterman and Aurifil, both great quality but Guterman I buy it in my local grocery store (in white and black) while Aurifil is hard to find here in Italy, which is funny because it's made in Italy just 30 km from where I live😅
I use Wawak, I love them!! I always order a bunch of zippers to get my order yo $99. For free shipping. They have a big selection, and the prices are incredible. I love having tons of zippers hanging on my wall. When I start a new bag, I don’t need to go shopping.
Thanks Nikki for introducing wakwak sewing tools. I must buy that needle threader !! Those tiny rag dolls at the back on the left are super cuties!! Wish, you teach how to make them !!
Just found you and I enjoyed this video very much. Looking forward to seeing your tutorials. You have a great teaching personality. Some just talk too much. You get right to the point. ❤
So glad you've discovered quality thread! Mettler & Presencia are also excellent, though the latter harder to find in stores, but Red Rock Threads sells packs. I also ordered the same Cutterpillar light/cutting board after seeing it at Sewing Expo in my area & love how thin & bright it is! And I came across WAWAK last fall & love them. But if you want a really ergonomic (wrist friendly) handle rotary cutter, get a Martelli, but it doesn't have the nice auto close cover feature--indeed would have saved a few nicks on the blade & finger... And so far I've found the genuine Olfa blades are the best (I use my rotary on leather--up to 7oz--and blade life is much shorter vs with fabric. Even tried KAI blades, since I love their scissors--better than others, but Olfa still #1 blade).
Totally agree with your comment about Presencia threads. Some years back I was having awful issues with thread then I picked up a copy of a book by the late Harriet Hargrave and she was talking about Presencia thread so I ordered a cone of the thread from her website to try. Loved that thread and never had a issue with it. When I needed more thread Red Rock Threads were the only store I could find online (Presencia Perle is the only Presencia thread sold in Australia) that had the cones available in my colours that would ship internationally. Great thread and great customer service from Red Rock Threads.
Just a tip for marking your fabric: For items that will be laundered when finished, I have been using Crayola washable markers for YEARS. They always wash right out like they're supposed to and they don't fade before I'm ready.
Great video Nikki ! ugh I didn't need to be reminded of the fabulous wawak - I have been a customer for a couple of years - spent too much however at great prices
Very fun. I actually use Pilot Frixion markers (not their regular writing or gel pens) for marking. I have found the markers transfer with the least effort
I have never tried Guterman thread. I only use Aurifil, and I love it so much! I may check out the Guterman thread at some point in the near future, though.
I'm a big fan of CutterPillar -have had one of the light boards & mats for a few years now - I paper piece quilt blocks and it's so much easier with a light board. I really love the lights they sell, along with the holsters, to use at my machines - puts the light where you need it. I have been a customer @Wawak for a few years now, highly recommend them, great customer service. I'm a beader, the needle threaders by Dritz are just a type of beading threader for beads with tiny holes, a great repurpose by Dritz!
Wawak (🇨🇦) is great for sewing machine needles and interfacing, starch. The metal bobbins have been cheaper but most arrived damaged they replaced so A+. I love my double headed seam ripper, by Alex Anderson (not new but well loved and used). Self threading needles for burying thread are amazing.
i bought the Madame Sew markers you showed. I really like them and have bought the refills for them already. With the first set, I did have the black freeze up on me, but all the others-the refills-have been great.
Just be careful with those heat dissolving inks…. The heat doesn’t remove the ink, it just neutralises it…. And sometimes cold (weather) reactivates it… and those lines will be back!
Ooh, a video on how to make bias tape would be great! I have some of those and I have a hard time figuring out what size to cut the straps for each size maker.
Thanks for sharing! I get the needle threaders from Dritz for my Mom. She has macular degeneration that makes threading needles hard. Those needle threader are great!
I had a bad experience with the cheap Amazon heat erasable pens (not Madam Sew) so I went to Frixion. The only white one I had good luck with was the Clover brand. White sort of stays dim until it dries, then it shows up okay. Wish I’d seen this about the rotary cutter, I just paid $20 for a new one. I like the auto close feature.
I think you mentioned trying out a new rotary cutter blade quite a few videos ago. Titanium?? How was it? Was it worth the extra cost? Thanks for the Wawak video. I knew about them but wasn’t sure about the quality. Love your videos! 🧵🪡✂️
Hi, yes, they've been great! I don't know that they work better than non-titanium, but they work just as well, and I think I got a 10 pack for $11, which is less than the price of ONE Fiskars one.
In addition to many sewing tools, I purchased Wawak's fabulous lint rollers. They use masking tape instead of the anemic white tape ones sold most everywhere else. I loved mine so much I bought six more for Christmas gifts for our kids' families. And you are so right, the Clover sewing gauge is the best! I also have the much larger version of it to use when hemming curtains, etc.
Thanks Nikki for the great info on these products and companies. It's always nice to have feedback about products. I don't know if you're aware of this issue with those heat erasable markers but I've heard from many people that if the fabric or item being marked is subjected to cool temps that the mark will come back. I suppose this wouldn't matter if it's on the wrong side of the fabric but one should be cautious about marking a quilt etc with these markers. I use the air erasable markers. Love your videos!
Thanks for showing the new tools. RE: Wawak -- I reached out to them last year to request a catalog. Never received it. I was so disappointed as I really wanted to try shopping with them. I may try again. I love the Clover tool and use it often. Thanks.
Thank you for this wonderful review! I just added the heat-erasable pens and the Dritz Needle Threaders to my Amazon order with your links. I can't wait to get them! I also ordered the Wawak catalog! I'm so excited to get it!! I hope you are well!
Your "Make it Wonky" booklet reminds me of how Eleanor Burns started out. I know you're not just starting out, but I'm just saying I think you're among the greats. I hope it's selling like hotcakes!
hi, i have heard that the heat erasable pens will come back in the cold. You should try your brand and but it in the freezer. Just to make sure it wont come back.
Thank you for this video! I have used the frixion pens and they do leave a white shadow on fabric. I dont know if it washes out or not. So I only use them on lines I am going to cut through.
I want to let you know that there are ways to use those oversized thread spools with our domestic machines. One is to take the innards out of a bic style stick pen and slide over your machines thread pin. The large spool will fit on there fine. Another way is a thread stand. Ive made several, they work great for any type of thread on any type of machine. There are tutorials around for making one. Thanks so much for telling us about wawak.

This does not apply to this video but I was wondering if you had made a video about your new Janome machine. I watched when you first bought it but cannot find a video on how you like it. I’m considering a new machine and that model is on my interest list. I do love your videos.
I have never heard of wawak, but will sure look into them. I have used Aurifil, because many of the people I follow on RUclips use it, however I find it breaks when I wind my bobbins. I really like Gutterman thread.
If anyone already has a lightbox, a small transparent cutting mat can be purchased separately. I had a Cricut light box and it fits 9x12 cutting mat that can be found on Amazon, in case someone needs a cheaper alternative.
Never heard of Wawak. Going to check it out right now! Thanks.
You are so welcome!! Thank you for the shout out and so happy you enjoy our products! Love your videos as always
Thanks again!
Do you ship your catalog outside America
I am looking forward to checking you out. Do you ship to Canada?
I was amazed when I received your catalog! Had to wonder where you have been all my life!
Love Wawak! I bought some presser feet that help me to sew on edges of fabric in varying widths for my straight stitch only machine called compensating feet! And have bought other products that are very handy and well made and good prices. A return was very easy as well. Good info on your video!! 😊
I never heard of this company or their catalog, so thank you for making us aware of them.
Great company !
Thank you so kuch for the shout out. I appreciate you so much. I love cutterpillar too.
I do love your channel, keep up the good work 🙌🏻😁
The needle threader looks just like the beading needle I have..never thought to use that to thread my needles...thanks for the tip
Wow! I have been sewing for years, butI had not known about Wawak until now. Wawak - weekly specials. Next day delivery.
Economical.
🤺💐
I like Gutterman Mara.
The Gutterman Mara is better than the Gutterman sold at Joann's.
Ordered Wawa’s catalog right away, thank you, subscribed!
I loooove wawak. I saved so much money buying a ton of zippers, thread, Velcro, elastic , little snips. 😂😂. Omg I got their version of bias tape makers for insanely cheap too. Wawak is the best, and they ship so quickly.

Love shopping with Wawak!
Love Wawak! Have been getting their catalog for years!
Have used Wawak for years. Great prices, wonderful specials, and fast delivery. I love them for supplies.
Wawac looks amazing. My poor VISA. Thank you for sharing this info Nikki. I got my Improv book Monday and can’t wait to sit down and PLAY!!! 🤗
I have used Wawak for 13 years for my sewing needs. They are great people to work with.
Love Wawak and nice to see you give them a shoutout. Great items and very good prices.
Thanks, Nikki! I had never heard of WAWAK before but love the products you have shown. I'm planning to check them out.
Me,too!😊
I've been ordering from that company now for a couple of years. It's OUTSTANDING for service as well as the products sold.
You are awesome! i just ordered the WAWOK catalog and mentioned your name. Thank you
Thank you for the information regarding a source for supplies and the tools you find useful, I appreciate you, have a wonderful day!
When we visited Hamilton last year Shelly gave us a last-minute demo, and we loved her! Keep up the great work, Shelly (from Michigan)
I love wawak for zippers
Just checked out the Wawak catalog. Interesting!
I have been a Wawak customer for YEARS. You didn’t mention the fantastic prices on their zippers. And they have them available in a wide variety of colors, sizes and types. You are too kind thanks for the love
Thank you.

Yes I have one and it is great! I reviewed it in another video like this one.
Thank you nicely done and informative. Will look at Wawak

Just ordered a catalog! Thank you ☺️
I have never tried Guterman thread. I only use Aurifil, and I love it so much! I may check out the Guterman thread at some point in the near future, though.
I know Aurafil is also great!
Love your new book. Thanks for the sewing tools suggestions!
Great reviews! I do wonder if the heat removing ink reappears if the fabric gets cold!
Just found you and I am glad! That light table is something I needed years ago when struggling with Mcenna Ryan applique.
Could not order that dritz loop needle threader fast enough! Genius, and had not seen it before. Will be so much easier on my serger, too. Thank you.
Wawak is a new name to my ears - will definitely check them out.
Lovelovelove that lightboard!
I love and buy their fusible stabilizer, comparable to SF101, even better and so much cheaper.

I use the cutterpillar mat with my cutting board that I have had for SO long!
Madame sew products are good for the most part. I have several things from them that I use regularly, including the pens
Thanks for sharing! I get the needle threaders from Dritz for my Mom. She has macular degeneration that makes threading needles hard. Those needle threader are great!
I just tried Grippy to put on the back of rulers it works great. Got it on Amazon.

I thought it was me Hobby Lobby thread spits out too much lint. Glad you said it was too fuzzy.
I love Mettler thread, hard to find though, most quilting stores sell gueterman though.
I love love those needle threaders!! They are in both sewing rooms, every project bag and even a few in my purse!!!
God bless you Nikki!
Please do a demonstration of the bias tape makers. I’ve had some forever and never used them🤣
I will soon!

What about the tiny iron, where did you get it from. I love it
It’s Panasonic from Amazon 👍🏻

hi, i have heard that the heat erasable pens will come back in the cold. You should try your brand and but it in the freezer. Just to make sure it wont come back.
I love your videos! You do a great job and they are always so informative. Keep up the great work!! ❤
Thank you! Will do!
I've never heard of WAWAK. I'll check them out.
Great tip, thank you!

I found a light board with out cutting mat . Dollar Tree has one for $5.00. It is flat.

I still really love it! Sews beautifully, I’d buy it again.
@@PinCutSew thank you! I also wanted to say I really enjoyed your video with your mother. So interesting and I got some great ideas on storage.
I also love Wawak but find that the white fabric markers do not work (the other colors are great).
Me an the roll up measurements type have bad luck together I have cut two of them in half when cutting some fabric lol
I have done that too 🤣
The light board seems fantastic! I need it. I also need $150 to buy it 😂😂😂❤
