  • Welcome to the Miami Boat Ramps channel. We are dedicated to bringing you all the craziness that goes on at the boat ramps in South Florida! Sit back and enjoy the show!
Ramps we currently cover: 79st (La 79!) / Black Point Marina / Haulover
We are working on adding 2 more ramps to the roster. Stay tuned!
Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe and leave us a comment. If you don't, we're coming to steal your drain plug!

Disclaimer : We receive a ton of emails and messages from people telling us we filmed them at the ramp this past weekend and they want to know when the video will air. This is not a question we can typically answer. We film from three or more ramps every week and have a massive back log of content and sometime it could be weeks or months after an event occurs before we air the video. We put stuff out as fast as we can but we only air three videos a week and in a typical weekend get 6-10 episodes worth of content meaning we get content faster then we can air it. Thanks for watching and just be sure to keep watching looking for your content it will air but probably not immediately after it happens!

That first guy backing was like my dad when I was a kid. He would back our little runabout into mom's flowers and bushes. He hit the water spigot once and broke it off. I demonstrated to him at age 13 that I could back the boat into the yard and not hit anything, so I learned to drive backwards years before I was allowed to drive in the street.

Since they have security, once you enter the ramp area you have two minutes to launch your boat, after two minutes you have to go back to the end of the line and wait and try again. One persons incompetency should not be the cause of a boat ramp coming to a halt for launching and retrieving boats.

If I was there I would wish people would practice before getting to the ramp, but everyone is incompetent/useless at some point. It’s just a matter of what level your uselessness is. Putting rookies on a clock who back a trailer a handful of times a year is only going to make them even worse. It’s not like every ramp is going to have someone taking forever. Think about it… if you’re waiting 45 minutes. one ramp was blocked the entire time with a slow guy. If the slow guy wasn’t even there you MAY end saving 30 seconds. The security would be good to educate the rookies about using prep areas, and what to have done before hitting the ramp. You can teach people how to use the facilities, and be more efficient… unfortunately MANY people just don’t have the ability to drive.

@@doriangray2020 at 21 I got out of the Marine corps and bought my first boat, the marina gave me boating lessons, and launching and retrieving lessons before I picked up my boat from them. It was a new 19 ft Bayliner cuddy cabin and all the boats I've ever bought were new, then I bought a 21-foot Switzer craft with a 235 Johnson on it, then I bought two Kawasaki jet skis, then I bought a 24ft pontoon, then I bought a 2855 ciera Bayliner cruiser, then I bought a 65 foot bluewater yacht, then I retired and I now have a 16ft tracker setup for walleye fishing, and Excel FX4 with a 35 horse surface drive, and a 16 ft Boston Whaler super sport. I'm as good as they get when it comes to launching and retrieving a boat. Now I do not expect that from every boater but there should be some level of competency, and if for no other reason the safety of that person and others.

@@kubota33 no, I have the tracker, Excel, and Boston Whaler, however, I am contemplating an airboat but I'm think I'm kind of old for that now. I'm retired living in Florida on the withlacoochee River and that's why I have the surface drive, and the Boston Whaler I use in the Gulf to Go scalloping, the tracker I have in Wisconsin where I go walleye fishing, my favorite boat I ever owned was the 21-foot Switzer craft. And as for your perception of me bragging, trust me there are people that make me look like I'm broke. My original response was to a person who told me I probably didn't have a boat and I found that hilarious. Just as you think I'm bragging, that is totally your perception and you are totally entitled to it. I just got my Boston Whaler a few months ago and I don't know if you know this or not but they are the coolest boats because you don't even have to put a drain plug in, they are self-bailing. And as for their hull design I do believe they are the best performance boat I've ever had. I'll leave it at that because I could talk about boats all day long. I hope this clarifies that I am definitely a boat owner 🙂

Boaters have a different mindset then RVers. RVers will turn their chairs around to watch people backup, as soon as someone gets into trouble or appears to about hit something, people walk over and help. I saw a guy tried twice and couldn't back it in, I walked over and he said dude - jump in and park it for me... Offered me 5 bucks, no sir - it's all good. Then again, I was stuck at a boat launch one time, lined up 7 deep, to launch there was this guy took up an area that 3 can launch at one time and REFUSED to back up the boat get his truck and trailer out of there and wait for everyone to drop theirs and then he could retry. The guy started to yelling at everyone that he can take all the time he wanted... Ranger showed up, told him to move his boat, truck and trailer and be prepared for an inspection since he wants to have that attitude. We all launched one after another no problems while his boat was went through.

Stinkpot drivers can't dock. His "crew" set the aft springline properly, all the helmsman needed to do was let the boat drift forward, allowing the springline to pull the boat parallel to the dock, But no, he had to fight it. Not to mention that the wind is from the aft, which should have made docking easier than if it were blowing off the bow. This is an easy docking situation. Set the aft springline and allow the boat to drift parallel to the dock. Set the aft line to keep the stern from drifting away from the dock, then set both the other lines at your leisure.

With such long trailers with long drawbars and long vehicles it's baffling as to why adult males struggle with this this....Try an empty out of sight jetski trailer

did these people fail basic common sense physics, how can you not have a rope AT THE BOW and AT THE STERN... that's FRONT and BACK!.... also why don't these boats have bumpers deployed? there should be at least 3 on the docking side.

I just don't understand why so many people have such a hard time backing a trailer. It's really not hard. Just a little practice and one should be able to master it pretty easily.

Those first two guys are hard to watch. When they first landed (smacking the bow)... they shouldve been tied & done. But no.... .

If you can't back a trailer, don't buy a boat.

Florida boat ramps waay worse than California. And that is hard to do.

Over and over we see these owners of boats that do not know what to do in a basic way. And this is where Florida and the other boat docks are going ... owners with big and expensive boats and no skills at all.

Try, try and try again does not work when limited mental capacity is involved and the same errors are repeated again and again.
