    I would not have been surprised to see Burt Lancaster emerge from that pool, (The Swimmer, 1968, John Cheever)! What a privilege to see an iconic building.

    What a curious, rather Californiate creation indeed❗For that place, at that time, what a fascinating place is this home. Thank you so much for this presentation.

    Hi Simon, I've watched a few of your videos today, and I've loved all of them. You're such a good cameraman, and that is rare! I love your commentary. The houses/dwellings you've shown are so unusual, there's a surprise around every corner. I'm not actually a house seeker - I now live in Canada, born and bred in Bristol. I'll continue to watch your videos though, just for the sheer pleasure of everything coming together for the enjoyment of the senses. Thank you so much, Wendy

      Honestly, Wendy, that means a lot, thank you. It's taken me a long time to over come my fear of putting myslef in front of the camera.

    What an interesting place, it was good to watch the original video of the house when it was first built. It was ahead of its time. Enjoyed this as usual Simon. Thanks

      Yes, the 1931 film was so interesting showing the roof top and the room next to it was the nursery and children's play area, hence the swing. Wonderful house, echoes of Jeeves and Woster, and nicely filmed. Thank you Simon for showing us it and linking original film. Very much appreciated.

    So interesting, loved the Pathe film - is the service lift still there, i imagine the water tower is not?

    This is my kind of space. If I had the money I'd snap it up. Gorgeous, generous house, definitely a party space and you wouldn't need to travel abroad for holidays, just walk down to the pool, while away the hours on your sun lounger... the only thing missing is your very own butler to make cocktails

      Thanks very much for your comments. I’m pretty sure we could always arrange a butler as part of the sale if you were interested! All the best, Simon

    I can't believe this home was built in the UK. The typical English garden is well maintained and lush, but unexpected. I would install a fountain in the center of the driveway, but that's the only change I would consider making. You surprised me with this unique and unexpected treasure. Also, it's priced very well.
    Cheers mate..

    The outside looks like it would have huge rooms . It was kind of odd how it was laid out some of those rooms looked small and that round opening was great looking but took up a lot of space. It's a very unique place I just found it to be a little odd. Thanks for the tour .

      Thanks for the feedback. I think the era was about having lots of rooms, squeezing as many as you can where as today the trend would be less rooms but bigger and all en-suite. Glad you liked the tour.

    Interesting home and so close to London really. As another person commented rooms are many and small. And lighting in ceiling of kitchen outdated. One other thing I noticed, all those steep steps to the pool and if you forget something and have to go up and down a few times a bit treacherous or having to use the loo. Too bad they did not have a small area at the pool or small out building. But interesting.

    • @simonatuniquepropertycompany
      @simonatuniquepropertycompany  Год назад

      It is possible to add a bathroom if you wish. One of the bedrooms would be easy to convert. It’s something the owners had thought about.

    Beautiful but ridiculously impractical. One bathroom for six bedrooms? Inaccessible from bedrooms 3 and4?

    • @simonatuniquepropertycompany
      @simonatuniquepropertycompany  Год назад

      It would be possible to add another bathroom. It’s something the owners had considered but it’s just the two of them so they don’t need to. Also, on the ground floor, all the doors open and forms one big entertaining space. Thanks for watching
