@@subevo35 The part isn’t available so I got new cables on eBay and put a bolt through the nylon guide. Better than new! I would never have tried it without your video.
hey there, many thanks for the video. I had the exact same problem and fixed it just as you did. I never would have located that secret screw without your pointer. thanks again!
Hi depends on your skill level .once my cable was straightened it wasn't too badly damaged.you might get lucky on eBay for a replacement at the right price.
I have a 2000 SLK and this happened. I removed the window and regulator. Cable bunched up. Should I even bother ordering a new cable and attempt to replace it... or just get a new regulator? It looks like it would be a major hassle to replace the cable.
It was 2 6volt alarm batteries connected together to make 12volts. You can use your car battery to test. Basically take a set of jump start cables or thin household wire and connect each wire to a battery terminal and then to the cable coming from the window.switch wires from battery around to reverse direction.
Followed your video and did the job without a problem. Thanks very much.
Glad it worked. Cheers

¡¡Great video!!. Thank you.
Just had the window refuse to come up. Funnily enough its the same side as in the video. Will have to tackle it soon
Surprised they used a rivet!
Are there any repair kits for these, like new cables and pulleys . . the usual wear items. Good video, thanks.
Don’t know .best bet is ebay For secondhand parts

One more question, the 12 volt battery you used to manually put the windows up, how did you do it? I don’t know what those connecting wires are called

How did you get the passenger side one out? The gas refill tube is in the way and I can’t get mine out without breaking or somehow disassembling it
Sorry I cant comment .that was the only side I removed in the video. Good luck
I have a 2008 SLK R171 chassis. Is the process similar or the same?
Not sure but could be similar.
Yes 12volts
Is that 12v, right?
