Please, please, please someone interview Jonny Bairstow about his stumping, and his his attempts to do the same. He is conspicuously being hidden from the press at the moment. lol!
Pom here, looking forward to hostility. At last! Sorry Aussies, that we prioritised Bazball rather than giving you the respect you deserve; moreover The Ashes respect. The only mistake in the Bairstow incident came from us. I trust there'll be no sillies in the crowd, and the Just Sup Oil lot. May battle commence and the best side win.
Worlds hottest day ever recorded was yesterday , i think the world should give it a go. But as Elon said we only need to replace 2.5 billion cars and trucks globally.
England are going to lose this 5-0 To the most calm and calculating Australian team I’ve ever seen. Watching Pat Cummins smile and wave at Broads embarrassing histrionics was pure art. England (both the players and the crowds) are flailing around on the floor like toddlers while the only adults in the room take the ashes away from them.
l first heard you Adam on you tube commentating a Middlesex Country game..and thought that was interesting to hear an Aussie commentating an English County Match..l liked your commentating, you made a slow County match sound interesting and you are an Aussie so thats how l started liking your work..Your both doing great work over there ..keep it up guys..& keep calling the game of cricket with the true love you have for our great game..
Same could be said for the British PM. And the whole country, really. ("Look over there!", "It must be someone else's fault!", "Let's publish hundreds of articles slagging off Meghan Markle so no one questions why our economy is in the toilet!")
I would’ve loved for Pat Cummins to say okay guys I have a question for you can anyone tell me why they draw that white line on the pitch yes ask the press a question 😂
Great podcast and insights! Whatever the teams selected this series is proving even more exciting than the marketing guys could have imagined and let’s not kid ourselves the Aussies will get and expect to receive a loud and furious response from the Leeds crowd. I worry about dropping Tongue, who offered movement, pace and control which is not something that is often said about wood. If he gets his radar even slightly wrong, the likes of Warner and Head will cut him to ribbons.
Tongue was impressive, but a couple of those jaffa deliveries seemed to be with assistance from the Lord's slope. England have really missed Wood so far. Plus, Anderson hasn't really been affective, so really should be rested for Old Trafford.
@jaikumarjadhav6575 you forgot 2005 -> 1-2 2009 -> 1-2 .. don't be so sure about 5-0 because rain will play a big part in Leeds test but I believe 3-1 or 3-0 will be the result in favour of Aussies but fingers crossed
As a descendant of the Empire (here in Oz), it's wonderful to just listen. Not so much to the cricket commentary, but the intonations on the podcast. All those little nuances, from the once-Conqueror to that from a far-away place on the Continent. What was the year? 1949? Thank you, Gentlemen.
Should be good, I have no massive issue with what the Aussies did. But I`m looking forward to them getting some stick for it none the less. All in good humour though but the Leeds crowd will make it uncomfortable for them. I work in headingley so hopefully will be able to sample some atmosphere in and around the ground.
I hope we do, just come out of the blocks firing amd destroy them within 3 days, that would be amazing. Clean up the series 3-0, then maybe even go onto 4-1 or 5-0 or something.
Honestly love you guys but seriously the fact that Bairstow was TALKING about stumping Head is exactly the point. TALKING, WARNING. That’s the point. It’s so surprising how at odds we are about that concept.
Stokes regret punching that person in the face and assaulting him. I’m just curious because he didn’t actually receive any punishment for that. What’s the weather and we got his way out of it I’m just wondering whether Stokes actually regrets that and why hasn’t anyone ask that question in a press conference everyone keeps asking questions about sandpaper gate. I’d say that’s fair going to isn’t it English press a very selective aren’t they they’re very biased towards their home team and they don’t ask the tough questions.
What's that got to do with owt? Stokes stood up to a Homophobic bloke attacking two gay lads on a night out. They even went on national telly and said he helped them, & they were grateful to him for everything he did, How the hell you twisting that to make it a bad thing? Aussie logic.
Regarding the stumping, its almost like it's being intentionally hammed up to take the air away from the state of English Cricket Report that's been released. Which doesn't give me a great deal of confidence that the recommendations will be embraced.
Have everyone Forgotten that in 2019 Headingly Test, when 4 runs were left Nathan Lyon had stokes Plumbed but the saviour of Stokes from 2019 wc Final Kumar Dharamsena came to his rescue and we remember stokes hitting the winning runs, rather than Lyon Celebrating his beautiful ball and Ashes Win?🙃 so much for Benjamin Stokes Legendary Knock🤦🏻 Sachin scored legendary 130 odd against Pak in Chennai but lost because he was given out Rightfully not Stokes💀 No inning deserves to be Match Winning unless it wins the match
We're about to see the continuation of the biggest dummy spit in world sport. Never in the history of cricket have so many pommys had their y fronts twisted in to rope. They will delve into their book of dirty tricks and claim the moral high ground and hopefully play their way to 3 nil.
I’m getting bad vibes about the next test. Really worried that some English supporters will overstep and a serious incident may occur - hope I’m way off base.

The question continues to grow. How many instances through history can you think of which best exemplifies the mostly famous British sense of fair play, their card tricks of comedy and 'the spirit of cricket'??? Bairstow's dismissal for 'failure to advise' was epic. As the great Richie Benaud might say: 'Marrrrrrvelous decision that'. His failure to advise the Ozzie captain before taking his guard at the crease, of particular laws of the game he would be ignoring, should have prevented him from taking guard even. Method of dismissal. Failure To Advise. Wonderful comedy bought to us courtesy of 'the spirit of cricket'. Yet another attempt to subvert the laws of cricket. The juxtaposition between these two references for adjudication, provides the delicious tension and unique comedy that cricket has become world famous for. Square leg umpire is going to have to rebuild the wicket after every ball. Why not throw it in, who cares if the batsman is in his crease, you might get lucky!
The spirit of cricket would be if English team apologize for trying to blame Carey for his excellent presence of mind at the right time. Can you believe, a wicketkeeper who tried the same thing, got out legally with similar tactic and crying over the incidence? It’s mere childish tantrum. Ben Stoke saying that he would not want to win that way was such a foolish statement after losing the game. People would ask him back, “how would you prove it”. Is there any single incidence in the past where he showed his spirit of game to the level that he sacrificed the whole match? Not to forget he didn’t do that in the world cup final in 2019. New Zealand would be the world champion and that would be rather convincing over Carey’s excellence.
If the journalist ask stupid questions this is the best way to answer stupid people who is trying to stir up things. May the only way England can win matches is to use these methods.
I’m Australien and I can tell you everything is wrong with that play. If a batsman or bowler don’t get any advantage on an action, then getting them out on such action/habit is NOT in the spirit of the game. In Bairstows case Australia should have given him a warning before stumping him. The bottom line is if you push the rules too much, then cricket becomes a lesser product and everyone starts doing this kind of tit for tat to gain an advantage and that’s a shame!!!

I would have thought that McCullam and Stokes want to keep the controversy going as it deflects attention away from the team’s performance.

Let ‘em boo. I think it’s funny.
Absolutely right!
Yes, because it never happens in Australia.
Don't just boo shout obscenities.
I come to the RUclips channel over the pod for one reason…Bharat’s wardrobe.
this edition was absolutely🔥🔥, come on Aussies make it 3-0 and end the drought of 22 years
Has anybody said it to Adam yet that he looks like Brendon McCullum?
Maybe he is
How good would it be if Carey stumped out Bairstow a second time ! Instant Karma 😎
nice to hear haseeb hameed and brendan mccullums opinions
The Aussie players congratulating Stokes on his innings showed class that England are sorely missing .
It's about time Aus won the Ashes in England.

If Prime Ministers are getting into war of words after 2 tests, I fully expect King Charles to declare war on Australia latest by end of the series
Then the shit will really hit the fan 😂
King Charles is King of Australia, so he's declaring war on himself?!!
I think Australia might roll over England tomorrow morning, considering their integrity being questioned!

How does a batter get advantage by swapping their feet in the crease after the ball has passed? People get stumped doing that all the time.
How is it you can't even spell Australian
Humfrey B Bear, Bairstow tried the exact same thing to Marnus and Warner in the same test.
So batsman can leavr their crease whenever they want? Don't be ridculous, they teach junior cricketers not to leave the crease until the ball is dead.
