C6 is bad egg. I have C7 Z06 M7. They are the crowns of American super cars. Unfortunately the C8 leans more European. Rear engine flat plain isn’t American! Supercharged front engine V8s are. Or to me that’s the way I see it. Not that the C8 isn’t a great car, it just don’t scream American to me the way C6 & C7s do. Long live American monsters !
Bought a C6 Z06 3LT this year mint with 30K miles, I was nervous about the valve problem so had a builder go thru the engine all Texas speed parts for $8500. Now it’s 700 to 750 HP!! Still gets 20 mpg and it’s a monster for under $50K.

I'm 6'6".. about the same build as you and you just gave me pretty good hope about fitting inside comfortably lol used to drive my Dads C5Z decently but always wondered about the C6
@vanross62 as an added bonus you could always put lowering mounts on an aftermarket seat and you should be A OK. I drive mine the way it is and feel fine. Like it is a little snug, but most things are a little snug

On my way to look at one right now. Forged internals,Mast heads,triple disc clutch,200 shot,line lock and some more goodies. 697 to the rear wheels motor only. Not sure about how it goes on the highway but runs consistent 9.5’s in the quarter
I fixed my stock C6Z drivers seat......I had the lumber foam replaced AND I had a steel reinforcement add inside the seat frame (which is plastic) . Stock LOOKING seat with amazing lat support.......total cost about $300 about 5 years ago

If you're in Canada. Davenport motorsports Calgary has done many head swaps. Great shop. I had OEM Lingenfelter upgraded heads done on mine last year. Wonderful job.
I agree these are incredible cars! So much so, as I have one as well :-) Timeless style is so correct. Smooth lines, lightweight, naturally aspirated, big brakes. A driver's car for sure. Note: Davenport motorsports Calgary can solve your "heads" issues. Cheers from BC :-)
I agree with you too! I'm a fellow C6Z owner too. We are twins with Lemans Blue. Best performance for dollar. I'm a gear head wanting a Porche 911 997.2 next.
@rickvang7313 the only problem with the porsches, is I feel you need a gt3 or gt3rs to match the performance of the vette or beat it, but that comes with such a massive price tag. I do love me a Porsche though!
Great car but my opinion the C7 with the Z51 package is a better deal. Lot nicer interior almost the same HP all alloy chassis with carbon fiber body. C7 also has dry sump oiling system. I find people still asking good money for there Z06 can find C7 for lot less money. But C7 is unfortunately a little heavier. Both great cars guess all depends on options milage and price of course.

I gotta get it back on a dyno and have it retuned . It made 500 to the wheels, but I think it should easily make 550 plus. It's got a stage 2 TSP cam in it, with prc 245 heads and that atomic airforce intake manifold (or whatever it's called). Exhaust is stainless works headers and a borla catback
I guess it depends what we base it on. Better potential for a track car, yes. It's 700 pounds lighter than the zl1. My car is also faster than my last zl1. In my opinion, more collectible in the future. Last of the 4 round taillights, last 6 speed manual (newer ones were 7 speeds), one of the biggest NA V8's put into a car. For those reasons, I think it's more special than the camaro. ZL1 1LE's will always be special to me too.

My dad had a c8 that was less fun to drive than his c6. The automatic became boring after a while and it just didnt have the same feeing. It felt like a Ferrari not a vette. It was too good. Like so good it took the fun out of it.
