- The ice covering the river is treacherous and ever-changing in appearance. Despite this, Tuguldur has to find a suitable point at which to cross the river. The 10-year-old nomadic boy rides his horse alone to school and each time must cross the frozen Tunkhel river in the north of Mongolia. His school day begins in the afternoon. Because the sun has softened the ice on some parts of the river’s surface, he cannot trust the ice everywhere. One wrong decision and his horse could slip on the ice - with him on its back - or break through into the cold water below. Even if he were to remain unhurt in such a situation, little Tuguldur would not manage to get back on the horse’s saddle by himself.
For nomadic Mongolian girl Delgertsetseg, the route to school is equally difficult. The 12-year-old starts school early, when the thermometer at her home shows -30 degrees Celsius. Her father delivers her into the village under moonlight, through deep ruts and slippery snow slopes. Due to the possibility of sliding on the ice and the obvious associated dangers, the police have banned the use of motorbikes in villages during the winter months. However, Delgertsetseg’s father has no other choice - he does not have the money for a safer car.
What these two nomadic children have in common is their eager anticipation for the warm and ice-free spring, even though they have to overcome the hardships of this school route the day before the traditional Mongolian New Year. Развлечения

I am Mongolian too. This documentary takes me back to my childhood time. We used to walk to school and home even though it’s freezing cold. Sometimes we froze our cheeks and fingers. That time I hate cold but now I am proud of the way we used to survive. It is incredible memory. Also it made children grow strong. Proud of being mongolian

Yes, really Mongolian are strong. That is why they could keep their sovereignty from their land shark neighbour.

Delgertsetseg the 12 year old girl will forever remember and cherish those motorcycle rides with her farther. Simple everyday things are the most treasured memories.
They really are! I live in Canada and go to school across my city for a program ( it’s about an hours drive) of course that commute is absolutely nothing compared to this but even still I appreciate so much the rides that I get from my parents. Precious 1 on 1 time.
These kids might have hard work, but they are blessed with a relationship with nature, a peaceful childhood with activities appropriate for their age, lack of materialism, no kids bullying each other or fighting over who has "nicer clothes" or whatever trends. They might not have 'easy' lives by Western standards, but they have a genuine appreciation for nature & simplicity. It's a beautiful country.
Unfortunately its slowly changing, even they are slowly being influenced by the west...
@ Lost pelican I like your comment VERY MUCH !!! Greetings from Canada.
@lostpelican1883 Bonito! Concordo com você! Thank you!
Haha we get bullied all the time and got robbed by old kids

That horse is the real MVP here

@@maryjoymanching7796 The hores is so the rider gets "good rest" and will become the "tasty treat" later. 🤣😂😈
I think these videos should be showed in every school. U.S. and Canada
Australia, New Zealand, Britain and France...
And India
Why? It is their choice to live in remote areas where transportation is difficult and schools are far away. They have the option to move into urban areas and not deal with this everyday but they like it this way. What is the point of showing those videos on schools? Can you explain in to me? It is all fascinating but they are nomads and this is the way of their life.
@@apocevil To show kids what being 'independent' and responsibilities really is. Here in the West, there's no really sense of responsibility or independents. The kids here simply don't learn it. Thats the advantage that these kids get over ours. A touch of reality and true sense of one's self.
That's so true all children in these videos have respect and help their parents and were uninformed in no man land
Amongst the "Most Dangerous Ways To School" series, this is by far the easiest and happiest hardship I have seen so far.
I hv to agree
Now imagine the girls in Afghanistan who will be beaten and abused by the Taliban for attending school.
Not just because the way is relatively easy, but particularly because the school looks very nice for this series.
My mother grew up in the prairies of western Canada. When she went to school in the 1930s, she rode a horse a few miles, even when very young. When she arrived at school, the horse turned around and walked back to the farm on its own. Near the end of the school day, the horse walked alone back to the school to retrieve my mom. True story! I don't know if this happened in the cold winter months though. Sadly, I can't ask Mom these questions any more.
Wow such an amazing story! May your mom rest in peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼
The boy and his horse, brave young man.
Write a book bout that.
You need to watch the Mexico episode... It's a 6yo boy, who hiking just to go to school

i suggest these documentaries should be viewed at school...it will touch a million hearts and they'll focus on their studies..sure i am..
You are right.
Agree
There would probably be less school shootings if they did. Hopefully kids would realize how easy they have it and how trivial their problems really are.
I assure you documentaries in school are really just a chance to rest and not to have to listen to a teacher. Maybe you do some essay about it and that's it. Documentaries are almost unuseful if teachers are idiots or society sucks. Also, fun fact, my heart was usually touched by documentaries and movies about less fortunate children. Still school was shit and among all the teachers I had from 6 to 14 only two deserved my respect and made school seem a good thing. I learned life values and knowledge from books. School was just a place I had to stay with hateful people and there I learned only how to recognize
hypocrisy. When you are 8 and every morning you ask yourself why your life revolves around a place full of people you despise, do you relly think documentaries are the solution? Don't you think we should focus more on educating people outside school so they can have a better influence on kids so kids go to school more willingly?
Criceti in Fuga...I will if i can...and it will be applied to the Phils..my country if u think ur country can't..our teachers are not idiot!
That young boy is so brave..he presses on, riding his horse, crossing the sketchy river...he will grow into a man's man!
When the little girl said “he hit my hand so I went and hit him back” that’s me 😂😂😂😩
The way Delgertsetseg's dad looks at her is so heartwarming.

As a teacher now retired, I marvel at these wonderful people who value education and teach their children morals and respect. Every single one of these videos is beautifully done. It is also so very troublesome and sad how American children don’t appreciate the vast resources they have and how many don’t have self control, respect and concern for their fellow man. It sure appears that the stronger the connection between family and some belief system, usually religious, equates to children who practice self control and who have a innate love for learning.
Amazing .The Mongolian nomads have taught life skills to their kids (the most important one for survival) .Huge respect 🙏🙏
What makes me so happy about this video is that even when the children are raised in such harsh conditions, they still find some reason to smile and enjoy their adventure.
Humble souls who have learnt to appreciate life and all it gets to thrown at them.
These documentaries really warm my heart☺️☺️☺️☺️.

Who else has been binge watching these shows?
Me
Me of course. I cannot get over those three little girls rowing on a leaking dugout boat to get to school. I fought back tears all through the time I watched it. The same with the six-year-old boy that trekked all those miles through the jungle and dangerous terrains to get to school. America's kids should always thank God for their fortune. My heart goes out to those brave children overcoming all kinds of odds thrown at them at an age when other same age kids in other places are still sucking their mother's breast s

It's a way of moving the horse
Seeing so many comments people feeling sorry for the horsey! 🤣🤣🤣 Dont be so quick to underestimate the horse. These are the same horses that the mongols used to conquer and create the largest land empire the world has ever seen. Mongolian horses are battle tested throughout history for its endurance and survival, unlike other breed of their cousins.
Such a brave little boy. And the giggle of the girl stole my heart 😍✨ Great Culture also ❤️
This is a culture of people to be very admired. Here in the US people get upset at being stuck in traffic or standing in line for more than five minutes to buy an expensive gadget they probably don't need. I can safely say probably 95% of people here would never be able to endure these hardships. Look at these kids in these schools shown in this video. Well behaved, educated and happy. No headlines about school shootings here. Goes to show you, the harder you work for things the better the person you're going to become. We are spoiled plain & simple and the results are on the news every night.
Like everywhere there are rotten kids too, but rare in the countryside. Gun thing is Western world issue, or even USA issue. When you mass produce guns, then sell them to public, what else would you expect to happen? We have no gun culture, thank God.
I’ve had to endure being painfully ugly, everything is easy after that.
evertime my kids go to sch my heart is in my throat
Dont lump all the US kids together. I grew up in a rural area where the nearest supermarket was an hour's drive. I had to cut and bring in firewood everyday. I might not have had to ride a horse 10 km to and from school in the middle of a blizzard but I wouldn't say I was spoiled. Its not just what you have available its the parents as well that determine how spoiled a child is.
you nailed it down. "the harde you work for things the bertter the person you're going to become."
I love how thses kids respect and listen to their parents and teachers. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
And my kids complain about the 30 minute car ride to school, in a brand new car while on their iPhones... 🤦🏼♀️

40 years ago I spend 3 years of my childhood in the similar small town in the Northern Mongolia. It was really the happiest part of my life and this beautiful country is forever in my heart!
Such a dramatic music. I am Mongolian I grew up in capital of Mongolia. It only 10 minutes to take a school from my home. But my parent used to live in countryside so they had to walk very far. Now they don't think it is such a big deal. You guys should see that place in summer. It absolute beautiful and people there is the kindest people you ever meet. Living in the countryside makes children more down to earth, respecting nature and close to animal. Also after school they help their parents to take care of animals such as horse, sheep, cow, goat sometimes camel too. But in a school you can see them happy, joyful and even freezing they don't think it's suffering.
The school is very very nice, really, for such a remote region. I have seen worse schools in richer countries' most populated cities, it's obvious that people in Mongolia take care of children well.

This country never fails to fascinate me 🇲🇳❤️
See how the children respect their teacher? It would be difficult to find respectful, obedient 6th graders in almost every school here in the US!
That's because kids in the US don't appreciate the significance of education.
Most kids in the US don't have to live a life of hardship that would make them want an education that they know would improve the lives of their family.
thats why USA is the leader in the world, because they leave children to be children and dream....
You're pretty dense if you think that only happens in the United States.

That poor dad with the motorbike... I wish l had the money to buy him a 4 wheeler... Imagine the difference it would make in their life!
I was thinking a snowmobile but a 4 wheeler would help..either would be better than a bike..But use what you have..beats walking..

A car would be too heavy to cross the frozen river! The ice would crack.
He doesn't need it. Didn't you see his car. The motorbike is what is better to cross the river, I think... And probably it is cheaper gas-wise...
Trust me as a mongolian, they have enough money to buy a 4 wheeler. Sometimes nomads can afford toyota land cruiser that is 20k$. If he doesn't have it it means he doesnt need it. I'm not lying - they have sheep cows and this and that and they make a lot just from wool.
