WOW, I'm amazed by this little boy rowing 4 hours a day to school. I grew up in Peru too in the big city, I'm glad that nowadays the Peruvian government makes the life of this poor students a bit easier by providing them with uniforms, books, meals and those funny hats, in my days back in the 80s they did not provided us with nothing, hopefully in the future they'll be provided with canoes or boats for transportation.
Same, i grew up a block away from my school in Lima. is insane. That poor kid. I moved out of the country early in my life so im not sure if the government has done anything about it, but i sure hope so.
I pray you will voice for the betterment of these children and their families. You understand them better. I will always pray for them and their families. God will always bless them. I am so thankful for those parents that sent their kids to study. So touching to watch these videos. Thanks a million for this eye opening stories.
That's Courage and heroism, Vidal would turn out to be a Great man. He brought food home to his family Free such a long and tiring day. What a Great young man.
Binge Watching all these documentaries really makes one appreciate the small things in life. I remember walking 7km to primary school but now I realize it’s a mere fraction of what some kids go through 😢
I really feel for this little ones.. Each moment i watch this documentary i can't stop tears flowing down my cheeks.. The determination seen on their faces is simply out of this world
Dear Lord, grant me the indomitable spirit and determination of these beautiful children, empower me with gratitude, and forgive me for all the times i complained over petty little obstacles in my daily life.

It is sad but it's survival. Americans, Canadians, Europeans, etc. have really raised a bunch of entitled whiny babies!!! Kids in first world countries cry over not having the newest iPhone or being told to get a part time job. Look at how many kids around the world are SURVIVING like adults !
I'm very much addicted to this series, I've watched few of them, and it makes me humble myself as well as recall my childhood days, where I and my friends also walk 3-4 kilometres to reach school. It's one of the best things that happened to me. It made me mentally stronger and when you walk with friends, you don't feel tired at all. Along the way, my male friends would climb a coconut or a guava tree as a treat for us when we get hungry. I am saving these videos because now I have a son, and I wanted him to see how lucky he is that his school is 500 meters away from home only. I hope that the government of Peru help this tribes, lifeboats, meals, free school supplies, uniforms, more schools and better safe transportation. Thank you for this video. It's good to see how these kids help other kids. It reminds me that it's not always late to help other people and that kindness still exist❤
These documentaries are beautifully done. The kids are simply amazing and inspirational. Makes me appreciate what I have. These type of videos should have more views.
Those are my exact thoughts. Mind blowing how people want to ignore other people humbling lifestyles and the fights (sacrifices) for standard essentials dreams a standard education.

I just discovered this series yesterday and I am blown away. These kids are so brave, yet grateful, and work so hard for an education. Meanwhile, my youngest sons pouts because he only gets an hour of Xbox play on school days. I can’t wait to make my kids watch a couple of these. Thank you.
The fact that those kids don’t get to live in a situation where their biggest problem is not getting more time on their Xbox is injustice in the first degree. If you want to show your kids these episodes, don’t do it to punish them for annoying you; do it to start a conversation about how you can improve the world together.
My heart was in my mouth seeing that boy struggling to get home, despite that I hope his mum cooked him a lovely meal. It was also heart warming to learn that the children shared their lunches. When I was young we learned to share our food and put our lunches together and always had plenty to go around. Thank you for these wonderful insights into the lives of all these children and families.
I love this series , but every episode just breaks my retired school nurse's heart. I want to feed them , clothe them, and build schools for their communities.
Hats off to these kids! May u always have the courage to fight against those trials and obstacles along ur way. Keep paddling in this thing called Life.
I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩 . I used to walk to my school . The path was easy. It took 1 hour to reach . It was easier. My dad told me when he was young he went to school by rowing boats for three hours and it took one more our on feet to reach the school. I studied in a town school. Dad was from rural areas. This reminds me of my dad's experience.
Of all the documentaries I've watched, the documentary from Bolivia hits me the most. The 2 sisters who had to walk almost 4 hrs a day just to go to school and had to pass through the jungle. Upon arriving home, they will still have to help their mother who's a single mom to the 3 of them. Tears were falling from my eyes watching that documentary. It is heartbreaking seeing children suffer because of poverty.
Off course that episode made me ta take a deep look in my comfort life instead alll the resources we have available that going to make us very lazy, thankless ,and also hamper our st
@muniwaranurudeen2405 made me wish I had become a teacher I love isolation and nature I would definitely have tried to teach at that tiny school 2 hours away from them.
Absolutely fantastic! the children in this doco are so inspirational. I used to complain about walking about 3 1/2 miles. I absoluely love how they care for their hair on their own. My heart goes out to all the families in these stories.
The kids in these documentaries are the real super heroes, they are the real MVPs!! I'm in awe, honestly. Even in their conditions, in several episodes now, they don't hesitate to help each other out whenever they can. Every age group can learn from these kids, honestly.
I was absolutely captivated and mesmerized by what I just saw. I felt a sense of joy, sadness, guilt and hope all at once. The lifestyle is so different, the landscape so surreal. God bless them all.
The irony, belittling someone who is trying to spell and clearly sound a word out, on a documentary series literally about the struggles some people go through just to get to school for a few hours.
Out of adversity comes strength. These people will survive anything. I am so inspired. We give our children too much that is why they do not appreciate anything. These children are already successful and have great determination. That is why when they get to the US they dominate and succeed. God Bless you beautiful children.🙌👏👏👏👏

Maryella is a strong, courageous 9 year old. Taking her sister and another boy, rowing all by herself! And here in the West, the fingers point if your child crosses a street by themself.
saddens me how my country, Peru, endures so much corruption from politicians and forget the children and all of the families, like these, that endure the consequences of their corruption. we need an update on all of these 3 families ❤️
I couldn't stop crying watching this,I wish I can make life easier for these kids. They have these dreams ,I pray for them. Vidal, you will be an engineer one day and the gals she will become a doctor too.
These children mature quickly in life. Look how massive this lake is that this kid has to cross to attend school. I respect ALL of this. WE, as a Nation, should have an exchange student's program; introducing the American kids to such a life appreciating experience !
don't know why but of all the episodes this one's somewhat refreshing & calming. everyone has their own affliction trying to live, still it's amazing how we can learn & be amazed by each of their story!

2 minutos?
I spent 3 days on an island in lake Titicaca. The children impress me in a way I will never forget. There was a festival coming up in the nearby village "The festiival of light " The children prepared all the lights to be carried on long poles They helped the younger ones mold and paint . and turned out works of art They had learned a responsibility , a way of caring and helping younger children that I never saw in my home country. Here we would have to remind them, sometimes give them ideas remind them to clear up afterwards.

I was born on the slopes of mount kenya n in my childhood the only time i used to play is on my way to school and in school. School was 1 hr walk n we went ducking away from elephants. At home we could work till darkness forces us to sleep. My first job abroad was baby sitting dropping and picking kids 3 blocks away from the house. They could fight over tv n i always got sclolded when they refused to eat or when they watched tv. I spent a whole 6 months wanting to vomit from what i was witnessing. Kids throwing themselves on the floor in shopping malls for toys. I was under a scolarship n made frends coz my classmates never beleaved u cld see wild animals without paying lots of dolars. I told them to pay tickets n come help in the farm. We have a big farm house. I told them to carry as many shoes as they cld coz while growing up shoes are a luxury. 8 yrs since our travel n till now they tell me what a good time they had. My 2 kids are 4 n i take them back to the farm to appreciate that life is not easy. I even volunteered in a school 4 6 months so that they cld learn my local language. Those kids are super adaptive

You guys should do a update of all the kids y’all have recorded showing where they at now specially if they still in school like college or their careers hope they all became what they wanted in life or do cause they deserve it all the long difficult stressful tiring ways to school they have to overcome
This documentary is from 2013, so I wonder how the children have got on in the intervening years. What an effort just to get to school. I hope they all get a chance to go to secondary school. Life must be pretty tough living on floating islands of reeds.
Thanks to this documentary we are able to know how people live in different parts of the world and how blessed we are to have such comfort. Pray that those children achieve their goals and are safe.
OMG...Thank you for this wonderful documentary. My perspective toward life is changed for good. Another Billion thumbs up for the makers and for their wonderful documentary.
I would actually love to live there... aside from the struggles of being incredibly poor, I feel like being away from civilization, technology, media, and the stresses of fast life allow their minds to not be tainted by the things the rest of the world is plagued with. It's so humbling to watch them. Their culture and features are beautiful.
Incredible children. Courage n strength b with them always. Hope our children gather some glimpses of wisdom from such children. Bless these incredible children.
The sense of community among these groups from all these documentaries is amazing. They should be commended and the rest of the world could do well to take a page out of their books.

Yes. Peru is a beautiful country. Love to you brother.
Same, i grew up a block away from my school in Lima. is insane. That poor kid. I moved out of the country early in my life so im not sure if the government has done anything about it, but i sure hope so.
Enrique Otarola awesome 👏
I pray you will voice for the betterment of these children and their families. You understand them better. I will always pray for them and their families. God will always bless them. I am so thankful for those parents that sent their kids to study. So touching to watch these videos. Thanks a million for this eye opening stories.
Those are not funny hats to them..its their protection
That's Courage and heroism, Vidal would turn out to be a Great man. He brought food home to his family Free such a long and tiring day. What a Great young man.
Binge Watching all these documentaries really makes one appreciate the small things in life. I remember walking 7km to primary school but now I realize it’s a mere fraction of what some kids go through 😢
Why are you walking 7km to school
Bravo to your perseverance too! 😊👍
Koh Seow Min that was the closest school and we didn’t have access to public transport
I didn't go to school
I remember cycling less than 4km and still thinking it's the worst thing imaginable
I really feel for this little ones.. Each moment i watch this documentary i can't stop tears flowing down my cheeks.. The determination seen on their faces is simply out of this world
If I was their parent I'd be worried out of my Whits knowing they have to go in that big lake to and from school by themselves.
Upgrade your village School to University
Never thought I would have tears in my eyes watching a child row a boat. These are the true children of the future! Parents should be so proud
Dear Lord, grant me the indomitable spirit and determination of these beautiful children, empower me with gratitude, and forgive me for all the times i complained over petty little obstacles in my daily life.
Forgive me too Lord for complaining, it is a sin.

I love watching this. My daily problems, my struggles are so small after watching them struggling the way to school
seen to know our life 100 times better still complaints...
As a mother, my heart aches for Vidal and his life. I hope he stayed in school and accomplishes everything he wishes in life.
Yes,they are amazing!
These are the most beautiful people!! And such a great work ethic. We are so spoiled in America.
lalee 75 you realize that there is North America (where you happen to live in) , Central America and South America where vidal lives in Peru...
The AMERICAS are CONTINENTS ..
I’m sick and tired for “americans” to appropriate themselves the title of “America” jeez...
You guys are even more laughable when you claim your 4th of July to be “America’s birthday”
Jas, "America" is just slang here for the United states of America. We know North and South America are the continent's here lol

So much responsibility at such a young age.
Yea but it makes them ready for the world. Americas kids need more responsibilities for sure!!!!
When I was there are all i did was play with blocks legos I even had my own phone.
Hang in there Vidal! These kids are an inspiration to many. Be grateful and be thankful everyone.
I pray that God keeps these children safe as they go to school.
I wish they would show the follow-up stories of these children's lives.

Imagine how strong their arms are after rowing every day. They should just become olympic medalists :D
That's actually a pretty good idea
All you could do is imagine..but for them its reality

don't know why but of all the episodes this one's somewhat refreshing & calming. everyone has their own affliction trying to live, still it's amazing how we can learn & be amazed by each of their story!
They BUILT their own island? Wow👏🏼👏🏼
