Unfair result! With all due respect to the winner of the award (Haing S. Ngor) and the film (which, by the way, is a great production), but you cannot forget the nice Mr. Miyagi of the Karate kid. His performance drew much more attention. I believe that the academy makes mistakes when considering more the importance of a production without analyzing the works individually. So much so that sometimes a movie has a bad script and direction, but a great actor and who wins the Oscar. What is not the case with actor Haing S. Ngor
I think the story weighs in as well and because of the background of the movie, I will say that Dr Haing made more difficult scenes to shoot compared to Mr Pat. But I love Mr Miyagi so much. Just wrong timing that they have to be in the same category of the same year.
RIP Haing S. Ngor (March 22, 1940 - February 25, 1996), aged 55
You will always be remembered as a legend
He from cambodia thank you take cambodia to the world 🇰🇭
Atkins eye roll when Ngor was announced the winner was very disrespectful
R.I.P - Haing S. Ngor
Adolph Cesar was amazing in “A Soldiers Story”! He died so young at age 52!
And Haing S. Ngor was 55 when he died.
He was murdered outside of his apartment in a robbery gone wrong.
RIP Dr ngor
Fantastic.
Hero movie in cambodia
Two Asian men nominated in same category. Wow
Jeffrey Jones is the only one who still alive of this five gentleman...

Oscar, two baftas and golden globe to Haing S. Ngor... this wasn"t an unfair result

@@karenhanna8674 when you think about it, Hollywood or Americans at that time probably was afraid to have two Asians winning an award.
