lol were you bored? thanks tho
This may be the best, most detailed and tested setting video I have ever seen. Well done, liked and subbed
Thanks a ton! Glad it helped. My Keybinds video should come out tomorrow I think.
these settings are great, but hardware and a monitor to go with it will help, if you got some shitty monitor and hardware, settings can only do so much. I noticed when I switched from my old BenQ XL2411 144hz to much new Asus monitor, the visuals and colours were so much better than on my old monitor it was like watching a stream, was so much clearer, I use to play on 100% DV, but gone down to 75, NVIDIA and Overlay filters play a big part as well.
@@BoozySZN Unoptimized games demand very fast cpu and ram, in this case... Tarkov is pretty much the worst of all. When I played PUBG I thought its terribly optimized, but then I bought Tarkov, lol. The game is fantastic, but you need THE BEST (talking about single core performance on 4/6 cores) cpu and really fast ram, around 3400mhz or faster, preferably dual rank (not the same thing as dual channel) memory. Without that, it does not matter if you have a 2060 or a 2080Ti because you will be getting the same fps, often dipping below 60, especially using scopes, which makes aiming terrible. This applies to 1080p and 1440p as well. Overclocking is a must, not a recommendation here...if you want to get adequate minimum fps. On top of that, this game hates AMD cpus, including all Ryzens.
@@BoozySZN Yeah that's true. Going from my 1080p ASUS monitor to a much more vibrant 2K ASUS monitor, the game looks really nice even without tweaking my NVIDIA settings.
@@Muldeeer I know that this comment is 3 months old but just to clarify i am pretty certain Tarkov is rather GPU heavy than RAM/CPU.
I mean you surely need *enough* RAM but having 2400MhZ or 3600MhZ is not gonna change a ton.
CPU is also an important role, for sure. But Tarkov is insanely GPU heavy.
By far the best guide! I tested about 5 or 6 guides and went to factory on horde. My FPS was steady the whole time ranging from 100-120. Thanks man you got my sub
Awesome dude! So glad it helped. Yeah, Factory feels like the most optimized map, so you should probably get the best framerate there. The small size doesn't hurt either!
Thanks for including explanations and reasoning behind each setting. Really appreciated.
You're welcome! Posted a few new videos this week that do similar deep dives. Hope you enjoy them!
@@Gambet is this video still up2date?
@@OhKaiizer Should be. The only setting I've changed is I went from FXAA to TAA.
@@Gambet whats the reason behind it?
@@OhKaiizer It dips the FPS a bit but it looks better, that's literally the only reason. I don't know that it provides any real advantage. Purely aesthetic.
Dude i tried your settings, now i get more consistent fps. Thanks man. Keep it up :)
Awesome dude, glad I could help.
Wow, an incredibly well made video. I was surprised to see you only had about 500 subscribers, you deserve way more man. Thanks for the content.
Thanks man, the channel will grow now that I've found a game I'm in love with. I plan to make a ton of Tarkov content in the future. Just released a new video tonight, and am already working on another one that should be released in the next couple days.
Low on Shadows quality also makes it easier to see through glass. For example at Shoreline resort. On high it's almost impossible to see anything indoors from the outside, switch over to low and it get much easier to see.
That's a great point!
I don't know if you're required to restart the game for some settings to change. I tried the HBAO settings, and I noticed almost no change in visuals, some area wen't a bit more bright on highest settings compared to 'off'. Also I noticed absolutely zero change in fps going from off to max.
@@kiiroMADE Yeah a few others are reporting differing results too. I looked into it a bit more and apparently the game does really weird things with resource handling. It puts some stuff on the CPU, and some on the GPU. Apparently if you set a certain setting to X, it will get pushed onto the GPU instead of the CPU, so if you have a really powerful CPU but a weaker GPU you might get better results setting certain things one way, but if you have a weak CPU but a powerful GPU you might get better results going the total opposite way. The weird thing is there's no consistency to it that I can see. People with far better rigs than me are reporting drastically worse results. Could be they have other issues going on with their computers, or it could be really weird stuff with the game. Hopefully as they optimize the game things will get more consistent and make sense, haha.
@@Gambet I rock on a Intel i7 7700K, Nvidia 1080ti 11GB & 32gb of ram. Going from 2.0 to 2.5 in the lod setting was a 20 fps difference. I couldn't really see any big difference of rocks and trees between these two settings, so I rooted for the 20 fps gain. 'Overall visibility' from 1500 -> 3000, no difference in fps at all for me on shoreline. Tried the 'SSR' setting as well, didn't see any difference in visuals and no difference in fps either, I left it off.
@@kiiroMADE Interesting. I've got the same processor, the non ti 1080, and 16 GB of RAM. Your TI might be picking up some of the slack there. One of the things I'm discovering talking to people here is how inconsistent the settings are across the board for people. Boosting certain settings forces your GPU to take over for your CPU in some instances, which might actually make higher settings result in better performance for some people, but not everyone. It's very strange! My computer's still pretty decent right now, but maybe in a year I'll make some upgrades and revisit this to see how that affects things.
Thanks for the details though. That's really helpful, and anyone reading the comments down here might get a lot of extra information they'll find useful. Awesome!
Yo! Just downloaded the game and this is the first video I watched about it. Just wanted to say thank you! Always love when someone has a video like this about a game so I don't feel so lost lol Much appreciated brother!

I can see you going far on RUclips. Really good video!
Thanks a ton! The Tarkov community is so awesome.
absolutely loved this video. so much so i thought i'd drop some comment love.
having the graphics options broken down barney style was fantastic. it gave me an idea as to why i was doing what i was doing and, based on my rigs hardware, I was able to fine tune the settings for my specs and preferences. so thanks a bunch for this video man - it was much appreciated.
Cheers
Thanks dude, glad it helped!
Very detailed explanation of the graphics settings, much appreciated, helped me choose what was personally better for me both for Visuals and FPS, cheers bro.
Awesome dude, glad I could help!
Very nice video put all the information correct together good work!!!
Thanks man!
Really the best guide out there. I've been messing with graphics myself a lot and I got the best results in terms of performance/visual quality with very similar settings you have.
The only differences for me are TAA instead of FXAA because the grass is really ugly for me on FXAA, overall visibility on 1000 and shadow visibility on 60 so I don't get disturbed because shadows and far trees are clipping too obviously
Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you said. I too vastly prefer TAA visually, but it impacted my FPS enough that I decided it wasn't worth it. I think Visibility up to 1500 isn't too bad, though I recently dropped my FOV down to around 63 instead of the max of 75 and I've had less of the issues with distant objects popping into existence at the edges of my screen, so for now it seems okay. Some people have reported that boosting Shadow Quality to Ultra and overall Visibility to max of 3000 has actually increased their FPS. It doesn't seem consistent though, but it's something worth experimenting with.
Anyway, glad it helped! If you come up with anything you wanna share, feel free to hop into my Discord channel and let us know your findings. A lot of people from this video have been joining lately and I'm sure they'd love to hear about this stuff!
@@Gambet yeah i have a 1080 graphics card and changing shadow quality from ultra to low - LOD from 1500 to 3000 doesn't affect my fps at all. On the other hand, i get significantly more fps from TAA to FXAA and keep my shadow and LOD higher. It seems to work a lot better this way. However, I have only tested this on customs ... what are your thoughts about this set up on other maps?
@@bowenzhang5137 My general philosophy with all things settings is that if you have to swap settings depending on map or other situations, it's probably more trouble than it's worth. So find something that's "generally" good for all situations so you don't have to fiddle. I figure once you set it up good once, you shouldn't have to do it again unless there's some kind of update or you get some better hardware.
That said, I've found the sort of obvious stuff. The bigger the map, the worse performance. Generally speaking the further you can see the worse performance too, especially if there's a lot of stuff going on. This doesn't apply to Reserve though. On that map your framerate is gonna be all over the place and a lot of the times you're not going to understand why.
HIGH QUALITY CHANNEL! Man, you do an amazing job, even with just a little bit of subscribers. You deserve something big in future!
Thanks man! I'm working at it, but I've only really just gotten started. Looking forward to the future for sure!

@@joey-rr4xe Thanks man. I'm about to upload another one in the next hour, and I've already got plans to release another one later this week. I plan to make a lot of content for Tarkov here and on Twitch. Hope to see more of you!
Still no matter what we change, random screen freezes when fighting or just before, and -20fps when scopeing wont go away until the devs do something about it. Game is very badly optimized
Yeah, that's fair. I'm sure they'll do something about it eventually. I'm not a game dev, so I don't know what the process is, but from what I can tell they're treating this game more like a traditional Beta than say, a Steam Early Access title. They expect things to break, and they don't necessarily fix them right away unless it gets in the way of testing. Could be that big optimizations will continue to get rolled out slowly until they've added in all the content they want, and then worry about optimizations.
Like, they might put in a bunch of work to optimize now, but then add in radiation zones or something else and suddenly a bunch of stuff breaks, and now they've got to go back through and redo a bunch of their optimizations again. Might just not be the best workflow. The game mostly works now, so they might be okay with that and keep things focused until later.
Or maybe I'm being too optimistic. Time will tell!
yo if you are getting the stutter go into your settings on the launcher and clear your cache!
edit: make sure you do this roughly every 2 hours of play
@@ryanandcam Interesting! Do you need to do this even with the RAM Cleaner option turned on?
It has gotten a ton better over the last few months
Kinda the best Tarkov settings I found și far. I've been shuffling a lot my settings and couldn't find the right ones. This video helps me a lot. What do you think about anti aliasing setting? A friend of mine recommended me to set it to off(he said that this the most important think when it comes to survival games), the game looks sharper in a way but my brain needs to process more to see the enemies. I thinks it looks better with FXAA than off.
Off is bad, you actually get better FPS with AA on in Tarkov. My personal experience is it's easiest to spot enemies with it set to FXAA, but the game looks better with TAA on. But there's a bigger FPS dip with TAA.
I saw that OFF is bad for me, but he manage to see enemies fast setting his anti aliasing this way. I will stick with FXAA. Thanks again for this video!
Hello, I liked the video,
however, I would like to know if 2k vs 1080p makes a huge difference in spotting in this game( been thinkink about buying a monitor 2k 144hz)
I would also like to know what gpu you are playing on, as well as your FOV setting.
thank you
This is 100% anecdotal, and based only on my personal experience, but I have found upgrading from 1080p to 1440p has helped IMMENSELY in spotting enemies. I was doing 1080p as recently as a month ago, and I was utterly hopeless at spotting enemies. It was so bad that when in teams I would not only be the last guy to spot an enemy, but my friends would be shooting repeatedly back and forth and I still couldn't figure out where the enemy was.
When I swapped to 1440p, I IMMEDIATELY saw the difference, and I would say I more often than not get the drop on my opponents, and it is very rare that someone takes a shot at me and I'm not able to spin on them and very quickly spot them. There are of course exceptions to this, but I can't understate how good this has been.
I've been using different FOVs, but right now I'm using 63 and really digging it. Some people swear by 75 or GTFO, but personally I don't think a little extra peripheral vision is definitely worth shrinking my opponents in front of me down to 2 pixels. There's huge warping that occurs. Funny enough I'm making a video about FOV right now. Should be ready early next week.
My GPU is a GTX 1080.
@@Gambet Can you play at ~80 fps in 2k? Altough I do have a little money saved from the job, Im scared that most games will be able to play 2k but at 60FPS max (which I would rather low res to more FPS). What would you say?
@@xandinho123456789 Personally I haven't noticed much difference in FPS drop in any game since moving to 2K. It's not like moving to 4K would be. If you've got a decent graphics card I'd just go for it if I were you.

If you are playing in borderless its more efficient to create new desktops using win+tab then you can quickly switch between desktops using ctrl+win+RT/LT Arrow
That's really interesting. I've never tried that before. How is this more efficient than just alt tabbing?
@@Gambet Just depends on the setup. Instead of only being able to display the single program you are trying to alt-tab into, this allows to say have a few separate programs on the same display to quickly review. Play around with it see if you benefit.
Thanks for the information. No one covers FOV from the Game menu though. Curious why it's in a different menu. Does this setting matter at all in relation to the graphics settings?
Yes, I've noticed there's a small increase in FPS at Max FOV vs minimum. Around 2-6 FPS at most. I cover all things FOV much more in detail on my FOV guide. Feel free to check it out in my video list.
@@Gambet I didn't even think of checking for a FOV video. Very detailed and helpful, thanks!

Thanks man! I hope you're right, I'm working hard!
Hey there! Great content! I was wondering if you had tweaked the game compatibility to obtain that many fps... Meaning disable full screen optimisation and override dpi settings 😊. And if you tweaked anything else since that video and the new 12.4 patch? Cheers!
The only stuff I've modified is the in game settings menu stuff and my Nvidia control panel, and I didn't do much with the Nvidia stuff. I have a whole video on it though. So between these two videos you should get similar results to me, although depending on hardware your mileage may vary.
With these exact settings i get 120 fps constant thank you!!!
That's awesome! Glad I could help!
How are you getting on with the Sharpness? I've heard people saying it can cause a sort of sparkle around moving objects or pixel tearing similar to not having any AA? (Perhaps having AA on cancels out sharpness?).
Great video, thanks for putting so much effort into this for everyone! Liked, shared and subscribed!
Shouldn't you put vsync on to get above 120 fps?
Great video man, really enjoyed it!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it. It's teaching me a lot about the game too.
What I do to avoid having to play on borderless is using the Steam Overlay, in order to use it with Tarkov you have to disable ''Run as admin'' in both the launcher and the 2 main .exe files for the game (EscapeFromTarkov and EscapeFromTarkov_BE), then go on steam and add non-steam game and select the launcher (it has to be the launcher, otherwise it won't work). Now in the launcher go on Settings > When I launch the Game: > Exit the Launcher completely. With this method, your overlay will go from your launcher to the actual game, you can then use the steam overlay web browser to search for whatever you need, without having to alt tab, allowing you to know what's happening around you while you look at a map, for example.
That's super cool. I didn't know you could do this. I'm going to have to try it out! Thanks!

How about a video showing different settings, or just how yours look?
I could do that if there's enough of a call for it. I didn't want to make this video twice as long by comparing video footage or screenshots or whatever. Some people have stopped by my stream to see how it looks though, I'm happy to go over it there, or maybe I'll make a video about it in the future. Thanks!
So if turning off vsync in your nvidia control panel and turning on vsync in your game settings unlocks your fps, is there a reason you dont run vsync on in game?
I do now. At the time of the recording I found it really annoying to stream in full screen mode because I couldn't easily alt tab, which when streaming sometimes you have to do, even in the middle of a game. I've mostly found a workaround now, so I run full screen with Vsync on all the time now.
A screen shot comparison would be great for each setting. Did you skip explaining resampling?
I thought about it but the video was already so long, I didn't want to balloon it out further.
@@Gambet for simple people like me, i would rather watch a really long detailed video than someone trying to explain it. I am still new to the game and I've find dark rooms have this pixel blur. I've tried with vsync off and on. shadows low to medium setting. What does resampling do?
@@tony1985montana My non-technical answer that is probably partially wrong is that Resampling upgrades or downgrades your image as if it were at a higher or lower pixel density. This can DRAMATICALLY affect both FPS and how good the game looks. If you increase it, it is going to TANK your FPS, but not make it all that much better, since you can't really get more pixels out of your monitor than it comes with. It might look slightly more crisp in exchange for half or more of your frames.
If you go down, you might increase your FPS by a decent amount, but the game is going to look like absolute ass.
My advice is to leave it at 1x and not touch it.
@@Gambet thnx, i set mine to 4x sampling and runs smoother I find. Ill cycle through each and see what works better for me. BTW if you kill me on customs, please hide my stuff so I can get it back lol
@@tony1985montana Haha, you're just as likely to kill me, my dude.
I just suggest fullscreen because when I hit the windows button it closes out of tarkov totally, so if i keep my map up in the second layer i can get a quick fast peak
Yikes! Yeah, I'm lucky in that regard. My keyboard has a button that disables the windows key. But if I weren't streaming the game I'd absolutely recommend full screen. It's a noticeable performance boost.

I think I've since changed to TAA, which sacrifices some FPS for better visual clarity, especially with bushes and trees. But otherwise it's all the same.
@@Gambet Same here...TAA look's so much better... happy raiding!

Is this the best settings I can use for my rig? I run a i9900k 3.6ghz rog maximus xi hero, 32gb ddr4 3200mhz, 8gb rtx 2080 super, corsair h100i. I'm new enough to pc so I want to try and get the max out of my system, and tarkov is my most played game.
With your beast of a rig you can definitely make the game prettier if you want, but you'll always get better framerate if you keep the graphics low. But more than that, keep in mind that turning certain settings on will make it harder to see enemies. I went through what each setting does in terms of both framerate drops and also making it harder to spot enemies. So if you don't mind it being harder to spot enemies, you can probably turn everything up to the max and still hit a decent framerate. Although I haven't been able to test it out myself. My rig is an i7700K and a GTX 1080.
@@Gambet thank you for advice. I kept the settings like you have with some changes with the nvidia filters and I'm running at 122fps so I'm over the moon thank you so much this video definitely helped me out a lot.
@@TheMRPassionfingers Dude that's awesome! What changes did you make to the nvidia filters? I'd love to experiment some more myself. The comments here have been great and have given me a lot to play with.
@@Gambet sorry for the late reply. i used a color filter and a detail filter. also over clocked my cpu from 3.6 to 5.00Ghz and its running very smooth.
Thank you for this! I just bought a new rig with a GTX 2070 Super and i've been playing the game maxed out, it looks so pretty. But i've been told by guys in my discord that the good players don't play it on the 'pretty settings', they play to win. So stumbling upon this video really helped me figure out what settings to mess with. Thank you!
You're welcome! And yeah, the game is so pretty when maxed out, but this is an ultra-competitive game, and unfortunately it's so hard to be competitive if you can't get the framerate and can't see anybody in the deep dark shadows! :(
No kidding! I was on the top floor of one of the office buildings on Reserve, opposite that hallway that leads to the room that leads to the roof (great directions). But I knocked a guy at the end of the hallway and I didn't see his mate with the SKS back in the shadows of the room! Now, I can be in the same position, see the room clearly, see the sheet metal barrier and where you can peek down the hallway. CRAZY difference.
@@SgtShidner Haha, that's awesome dude.
I watch all of these fps videos seeing frames sore to 100+ fps but cant even stay above 60 most of the time??? I'm running a ryzen 2600x and a 1080ti ssd HD and 16gb ram Thoughts?
Try experimenting with boosting your shadows and view distance. I've heard anecdotes of people getting better FPS by pushing those settings to higher levels. Sometimes the game overloads your CPU if you go too low, and pushing those offloads some of the effort to the GPU, removing the bottleneck and giving you higher FPS. I can't guarantee this will work, as I got the best results with the settings I showed in the video. Let me know if this works for you.
This game doesn't like Ryzens.
Nice video, very helpful, thanks :)
Anytime, glad it helped!
There is no such thing as a general "best settings", these videos are hilarious :DDD
I hear you, but the number of people who have responded here, or come into my Discord server or my Twitch channel to tell me that this guide helped them really took me by surprise. 100% there's no such thing as a one-size fits all solution for PC gaming, but there are definitely things that can work for a good chunk of people. Being ignorant of that doesn't seem to benefit anyone. I'd rather benefit some people than no one at all. And BTW, I'm pretty sure this guide will benefit pretty much anyone, even if it's not the absolute perfectly optimal settings for everyone.
Bushes look kinda weird to me and hurt my eyes which makes it distracting. Anyone know what setting can change this?
Switch from TXAA to FAA, but be prepared for a heafty FPS loss in the 6-15 range.
really in depth amazing video the first of its kind for tarkov, my only gripe would be maybe add some screenshots highlighting the difference's other than that good job man
Yeah fair enough, a few people have pointed this out. I thought about doing this (I took about two hundred screenshots in preparation for the video), but I didn't want the video to be 20-30 minutes long. Maybe I'll do a comparison in the future. Or feel free to stop by my Twitch stream and I can do it there. Thanks for the thoughts!
im pretty sure SSR is Screen Space Reflections, i could be wrong though
I think that's right.
thank bruv made my gtx 1050ti 4gb i5 2320 16 gb ram ..games runs damn smooth now :)
Awesome!
Hmm, weird you skipped Resampling? Is it too self-explanatory?
I probably should have covered it, but my recommendation is to just leave it where it is. The benefits are incredibly minor in my experience, but the detrimental effects to your framerate are probably worse than every other setting in the game.
Liked, subbed 👌🏻
Thanks so much!
Excellent research. Thanks!
thanks for the research. instant sub
Thanks so much dude!
Is my gpu bottlenecking should I get a 2k Monitor?
You should definitely get a 2K Monitor. I have no idea if your GPU is bottlenecking, though. :) What GPU do you have? And CPU, and how much RAM?
Thanks man! Helped a ton.
i had sound on for 3 months thinking my pc was trash and finally i searched it up and found out why
What if you minimise with fullscreen? It's still minimised and maximises the game normally and smoothly.
Alt tabbing is instantaneous for me on fullscreen. Not sure is FSO disabled makes it better and not gonna test it now, should theoretically make it worse but lol windows is bugged af.
Fxaa (as well as the other "AA" options) are not real AA but post process AA, it just makes things blurrier. You can get a similar effect and higher fps be turning off/lowering sharpening and turning PPAA off.
Anisotropic (why can't anybody pronounce that word lol) filtering is one of the best things that ever happened in computer graphics and for me it's inconceivable to turn it off :D . Tarkov's setting is pretty low, probably around 4x by just looking at it, that's why it's not super noticeable to some. Incidentally 4x is the sweet spot for fps on source engine too.
Great video. Well done
Thanks a ton!
Hey there. I was wondering if you or anyone else had noticed a massive loss in FPS since the last patch? I lost something like 20-25 fps on average... and sometimes I get a situation when it gets bellow 60fps. Also, is there a fix about how to get as many fps being in online mode as online mode. Just for reference, I have a ryzen 2600x and a vega64 8g. Cheers!
There have been massive technical issues since this past weekend. Servers basically are permanently on fire it seems like. They're working on it. It gets better and intermittently goes down. I've had some of the worst frame hitches I've ever seen the past few days. I had one the other day that lasted about 10 seconds where I got about 1 FPS for 10 seconds. Pretty brutal. It'll get better though.
I’m so glad this was recommended! You’re very well spoken you should make a video on how to get that 200 fps specifically because me and a few of my friends were completely shocked to see around 80 FPS on a $2000 rig when we first bought the game
Well, I should point out I don't consistently get 200 FPS at all times on all maps or anything. Reserve for instance I can be looking out at a huge vista and get 200, and then turn around and look at a wall and suddenly have 50 FPS. It's super inconsistent, and Reserve just needs a lot of optimizing to be done. Even on smaller maps like Factory I wouldn't say I'm constantly getting 200 FPS. It bounces around from 100-200 depending on where I am and what's going on. I suspect eventually it'll get to the point where it runs smooth, but we're a long way away from that.
Question, what about ram cleaner? on or off?
I turn it on. I have zero clue how effective it is, but I haven't had any issues yet! Haha
Been playing EFT since 10-10-17 and have yet to find someone with this kind of information on settings. AMAZING and great job!! I have g-sync and disabled that following your instructions on how to get more fps in fullscreen mode turning v-sync off. my question is g-sync the same thing. i disabled it on my nvidia setting. I cant find V-sync
I have G-Sync enabled. Vertical Sync is in Manage 3D Settings, second from the bottom. For me at least.
@@Gambet Thanks so much! found it and turned off and turned g-sync back on! ty ty
@@Mooch-vq5kr You're welcome!
Some corrections:
- *SSR* means *Screen Space Reflection,* doesn't add shadows, it adds reflection to water surface and pretty much nothing else. almost completely useless, disable it.
- *Anisotropic Filtering* is important and VERY noticable. Without it textures seen at low angle get blurry with distance. Guess what, you'll be looking at GROUND texture streching in front of you at low angle. All the time. That's half of your screen filled with ugly blurry mess. AF makes those angled textures sharp and clear again, at barely any performance cost (maybe 1 fps). Rule of thumb for all games: always set AF to highest. Buuuuut it's true that enemies stand out more on blurry textures. So it's a matter of preference, better graphics or that extra little adventage.
AFAIK Object LOD Quality setting is bugged, and you can experience massive drops in any settings above lowest 2.0. It was mentioned on tarkov subreddit many times.
I think I've heard about that since making this video. Although I found 2 to be horrifically ugly compared to even 2.5, haha.
@@Gambet everyone has their priorities i guess. Anyway thx for great content. Will try your settings tomorrow.
@@thelucky1379 let me know how it goes, my dude!
Z-blur blurrs your gun's back to make for a more a e s t h e t i c look :)
lmao, wonderful.
for my screen res it has 3840x2160 (16:9) as the bottom pick on the list or i can go. 2715x1527 (16:9) . have no idea just wanted my settings good before i started lol. should i test it out and see whats better or can you give me a brief idea. ?
You've got a 4K monitor, so you should probably go with that. Most likely you're monitor won't go over 60 hz, which means you won't get better than 60 FPS no matter what. So ignore that part of my video. Also keep in mind that 4K is extremely taxing on your system. I don't know what kind of graphics card you have, but unless it's an absolute beast you're probably going to struggle getting a decent framerate out of this game. If you do have one, then the rest of the advice should be fine.
You can try to go with a smaller resolution, but historically monitors look much worse when not using their native resolution. I'd consider going into Off-line mode and testing out a couple different resolutions and seeing what one plays and looks best for you, and be extra diligent about noticing if the game looks worse or weird at non-native resolutions. Feel free to join my discord server (link in the description of the video) if you need more help on this.
What’s your CPU hardware? This will help give me a base in case I need to tweak values. Thanks! Great vid btw!
i7 7700K, and a GTX 1080. If you want a super specific breakdown of the exact brands and everything I've got one on my Twitch page. You can get the link in the description of this video and just scroll down to the info panels under my "Gaming PC". Hope that helps!
@@Gambet so even if you had a 2080 ti for example this is still the best?
@@kingmason100 So, best being somewhat subjective, I consider these settings to be a very good blend of keeping the game pretty, the FPS high, and the enemies as visible as possible. If you raise any of these settings, you might keep the FPS stable and high still, but you might darken the screen with extra shading and shadows for instance, making it a little harder to spot enemies. That said, if you don't have an issue spotting people, and want the game to look way better, feel free to experiment with boosting some stuff. I go over a few things that I really wish I could turn on cuz they just make the game look so much better, but I ultimately left them off for various reasons.
@@Gambet my problem with the high texture settings is that the game just eats up my 8gb of vram on my 2070 and when it does, I have way more stutters and overall lower fps. Isn't that an issue for you?
@@hicihobe250 I find your comments really strange, as most people concur that this game is very CPU / RAM hungry, but a lot less so on the GPU. This is what comes of a very badly optimised game, but I am surprised you are finding issues with GPU VRAM.
I would really love to see someone test the input lag on borderless vs exclusive fullscreen. It used to be the case that borderless added input lag in any game, but others say that the windows 10 fullscreen optimization option 'fixes' this. Question is how true that is, and whether it's true for Tarkov too.
Y'know what? I'll make a note of that and look into doing this in a future video!
@@Gambet That'd be great.
For me it's very noticeable when i'm on borderless.
@@tamaspleszkan6100 Are you on Windows 10?
@@BBlaze. yep
Ty for this, I’m relatively new and always trying to find what works for me
Nice! I'm coming back to the game after taking a break for about a year, and I'm learning it from top to bottom by making these guides. It's been really helpful to me. I tested a lot of stuff out today on my stream for a keybinds video I'm working on (should be released tomorrow or Friday), and my chat was giving me ideas and helping out. The Tarkov community is great.
What about Nvidia control panel settings?
I posted a video about that very thing yesterday. Go check it out!
@@Gambet what's your fov setting? Thanks!
@@Gambet Sweet!
if i have my shadows on high the shadows on trees and plants dosn't pop in out of nowhere even with lowest shadow distance
Thank you so much for this info and all the explanations, i was lost trying to figure out the best options.
Glad to help, my dude!
What FoV are most people running?
Most people as far as I know are running max FOV. I'm using 63, but I used to use the max too. I'm not convinced one is strictly better than the other. They both have their pros and cons. The minimum makes me nauseous though, so that's a big con, haha. I'll make a video about this soon.
Run fullscreen
If you need to tab out the alt+enter and then alt+tab
Yeah, Alt-Tabbing works too, the issue is it's just slow. Borderless I can do it instantly and get into other things, with Full Screen you get a second of blinking screen before you can do anything else. It's just a pain when you need to be quick on it in the middle of a stream. But all that said, I'm learning to live with it, and I'm only doing Full Screen these days.
Made my game like 8% less crappy, tyx bro.
lmao. Glad to be of service!
what about the game settings like auto ram cleaner and that other stuff
I leave it all on, but I have no idea if this helps or not.
What video card you using?
1080, not TI, just normal version.
Gambet great to know, same card as me. Hard to find a new video with someone using the same GPu
@@PapaShongo25 How does the game run for you? It runs pretty well for me. In some areas I can get up to 200 FPS, but in others I'm in the 80's. You?
Appreciate it!
Hope it helped!
new pc here for tarkov, thanks for this video fantastic info, liked/subbed!
Thanks man!
Thanks bro
Thanks for watching! Hope I helped!
@@Gambet You did. This content is great!
Disable hyperthreading if using intel.
What about amd ?
Smart!
From experience I notice that entities such as Scavs disappear at certain long distances (example: Shoreline Power Sniper Scav to the other end of rock spine)
Interesting. Do you know if players do too? Or are players visible at any distance? That's very interesting. If you use max viewing distance do they still vanish, or does the view distance help with that? Super interesting!
