To anyone passing by, the part that needs replaced is extremely difficult to find. Nothing on eBay or parts websites (that I can find). Perhaps if you can find a motor that is similar you could get it to work but I'm having poor luck with that as well. Looks like I'll be selling mine for parts. Good thing I cleaned everything first 🤣
I have a chinese manufactured knockoff being sold as costway. Similiar issue but the gearbox motor isn't spinning. It gets really how and then eventually quits. I can, with the use of vice grips get the shaft to turn, but not at the speed required.
I noticed the part that pushes the ice up wasn’t spinning. When I took the gear box apart I saw one of the gears was broken and it would get stuck and not spin.
I wish you would have shown the how you actually fixed it and what part is needed if that is the problem. helpful diagnosing, not helpful with how to repair.
My Opal isn’t making ice and this video is very helpful. I am going to open it up tonight and see what the issue is.

Can you do a video on the gearbox removal? I can't figure out how to get it out with all that refrigeration in the way.
Time to find a part number
Same problem, the auger was not spinning and the gear box was extremely hot, though the fan was spinning. Any idea of where to get a spare gear box?
Sorry I don’t. I had parts from another machine I had bought from a liquidation pallet.

So the solution is buy another and swap the working part? 😂
