    Beware ⚠️ pressing the clean button is not enough, it’s still hiding mold inside, make sure you clean the right way! I ended up throwing it away I do not think this is a safe machine…

    • @DimpledRae
      @DimpledRae 3 месяца назад +2

      May I ask why you ended up throwing it away if you found the way to clean it? Did it just take too much time or did you have to deep clean too frequently? I just found that mold stuff in my machine this morning, and your video seems to be the answer to the issue... because I was also about to throw the whole thing out.

      @@DimpledRae frequently cleaning and scared of the risk of getting sick , even if I was on a weekly schedule of cleaning it I still felt I don’t know what day the mold started growing was it day 4 or 3 or 7 😩 so I didn’t want to guess.. no use ,no sickness was my thought process, I bought reusable ice like from the old days 🤣

    Thankyu for this video!
    The newer models has access to it and for me I don’t run it 24/7. We have an ice area (square bowl in the freezer) and I fill that up which last about a week but takes a few hours to fill..
    When it is filled, I empty everything, dry thoroughly and let the whole machine air dry with the baskets sir also drying one top and openly - while it’s covered lightly (with either a thin fabric or paper napkins)..
    After a day then I make sure everything is bone dry then I put everything back in place and close the back (the newest edition and the area where the water reservoir is as in this video).. mahalo again!

    Thanks for the good tutorial… You’re the only one that I’ve seen take the top off for the deep cleaning. My unit is one and a half months old and just did my first cleaning after the power went off while on vacation and the water just sit in there for a week and stared to get slimy in the reservoir. I saw someone comment about that plastic clear piece in front of the reservoir being able to slide open and it was in the instruction booklet too… So I removed it and wiped everything from the inside. I don’t see any blobs of mold, so I think I caught it before it got worse. Thank you for the great video!

    I took mine apart and found a little slime in this area. I was getting black in my ice but was rubber. I removed the little 3 screw cover in water reservoir area and found the round rubber mold was 1/3 gone and shreds of rubber everywhere.
    Walmart $34 warranty is worth its weight in dollars now. I buy it for stuff like this anymore. K cup machines are a must buy. They just dont last for me.

    This is why you use cleaning bleach weekly and vinegar monthly. The bleach and vinegar serve two different purposes.
    Bleach for mold
    Vinegar for calcium build-up.
    But overall, you did that!!!😊

    You don't have to remove the top to clean that reservoir. You remove the top tank from the
    front. There is a little clear window that slides out where you can clean that reservoir. It's wedged so you can slide it in to seal it back off. You can see it in the upper left hand corner from the front after removing the water reservoir. Hope this helps .

It is misleading because there is an arrow pointing to the back on the top piece, so I thought you could kust slide it off. Just bought one at Costco yesterday and started reading how to clean it. Were you cleaning it regularly before you found the glob of mold. Do you normally clean it weekly ? It says weekly. Do I need to do it weekly? It also has another part that says what parts to clean daily ??? I love ice. I hope this does not require so much maintenance. I think mine is very similar to yours.

    • @tiffanysgottimetoday4589
      @tiffanysgottimetoday4589  4 месяца назад

      I cleaned it weekly and like 3 times during the cleaning not just once so example on cleaning day it will be cleaned triple and still it was a big nasty blob ..it freaked me out because I cleaned over the amount suggested on a regular basis and I was like it’s no way this thing is dirty I’m using boiling hot water and vinegar. So I took it apart , I only had it a couple of months when I made this video. Yes it is a lot of maintenance so I just threw it away I don’t think it’s safe, I bought reusable ice instead…

    I have a model that is the same but ends in a “5”. I purchased from Costco, I know sometimes that have model numbers specifically for them. The unit looks identical to yours.
    I did as you did and left the screws out of the top portion,
    However it seems like you need an incredible amount of force to pull the lid out from under the groove and I’ve scared I will break it.
    Did you not push the top underneath the front lip so it comes off easy, or do I just need to apply more force?
    I don’t want to have an “oops” moment

    What an over engineered failure. This machine was designed to be used for a few months, then thrown away. Any machine designed without the intention of the user being able to mechanically clean all of the surfaces exposed to water for a prolonged period of time is gross. This is why you are able to take apart most humidifiers. At the very least the top part should be removable as a feature.
