The Mini Coaster (Rocket Cars) was likely inspired by Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Space Invader II, despite its resemblance to the American-made Space Mountain. 2. There WAS a single-rail motorbike themed coaster! Motor Cycle Chase at Knott's Berry Farm, which was actually later re-themed to the Wacky Soap Box Derby ride seen in the video. 3. RCT1 included a train with 2-across seating on the Inverted Roller Coaster, based off of the sole Giovanola inverted coaster built at South Africa's Gold Reef City. 4. The B&M flyer was not in RCT1, but the Lay Down coaster was. 5. The Six Flags Holland scenario is the one cursed with the prototype SLC, El Condor, not Six Flags Belgium's Vampire (thanks Serpentrax!) Cheers!

The very build of the coaster and the unfitting lack of options for ride design always screamed as though it were something made up by the developers to me, like they were running out of unique types of roller coasters. Hard to imagine each and every one of them were real! At least the vast majority of them (and not some possible made up variation of another coughcough4:30) It being some ancient coaster makes so much more sense now. Anyway this is insane that roller coaster tycoon was actually taking itself that seriously of a game. The developers of the game and of the openrct mod make me that much more proud of our older generation of games!
The Motorbike cars for the Steeplechase were used at Knott's Berry Farm when their Motorcycle Chase opened in 1976. The motorbikes were replaced with soapbox cars in 1980 until the ride was shut down in 1996.
What a neat video! Thanks for this! 11:45 you mentioned Vonkaputous in park called Linnanmäki which is located in Helsinki Finland, sad to tell you that this ride is no longer with us. It got demolished out of the way for a new crazy coaster called Taiga. I was actually starring in the commercial that aired on tv when this Vonkaputous ride launched! Cool stuff. :D
This (and the sequels) has become frequent 'comfort viewing' for me .. wonderful selections from the RCT soundtracks and excellent pace and delivery. Thanks for putting this together!!
It blew my mind to realize how much influence rct drew from British parks. As an American child I never saw a spiral slide at any amusement park I'd ever seen (I think blackpool pleasure beach has/had one), the flying coaster was exclusive to one relatively obscure park in the UK and only lasted a year in the late 90s, and I just assumed the vertical drop coaster was one he made up. Not to mention many scenarios draw inspiration from British parks, like Katie's World.
Yeah I never realized either, especially when I was younger. Although I mostly played RCT2, which draws a lot of inspiration from the American parks I was familiar with. Pretty cool stuff though
The mine train coaster was 100% inspired by the ultimate at light water vally in the UK. It even has a recreation of the layout in one of the rct 1 scenarios.
Indeed, this is one of the things I missed while researching. My American amusement perspective was definitely a handicap while searching around for the RCT1 coaster types
It’s not necessarily a recreation, more of a semi recreation as after the first drop on the storm it only has one hill instead of the first 3 on the real life layout and then heads to the chain and into 2 over banked curves and then it’s small tunnel section before returning to the station
The Mini Suspended Flying Coaster reminds me of a very rare credit called Skytrak at Go Kidz Go in Wolverhampton, UK. It's at an indoor play area near where I grew up and I was lucky enough to ride this when I was younger! Love your videos! ♥️
You're right! Looks like the mini suspended flying coaster with completely enclosed ride vehicles, very cool to see that it's still operating. Thanks for the comment!
This video's some amazing work! I love how RCT went so far as to include some coaster designs that are, as you said, nearly extinct. I find those to be some of the better choices for Excitement value, honestly.
5:00 the other steeplechase, wacky soapbox racers originally had motorcycle trains but they put too much stress on the track so were replaced with soapbox trains
10:45 You talk about Vampire in Six Flags Belgium, but you're showing the one in the Six Flags Holland scenario (Condor - which, incidentally, was the ride's first prototype)!
Thanks so much! I was thinking of doing an RCT3-inspired video in the future - played that a ton when I was younger, not so much these days. Would be fun to revisit it
@@JNattyBoi So, after starting to rewatch this again, I noticed you said you couldn't find an example of the single-rail motorbike coasters. The Wacky Soap Box Racers at Knott's Berry Farm used Motorbike trains similar to the ones shown in your video. They were replaced with soapboxes in 1980 after 4 seasons. I didn't know if you knew that, so I'm just making a note for myself

A few examples being the Wooden Coaster, Arrow Coaster types such as the Corkscrew Coaster, and All of the B&M coaster types. It really adds a lot to the experience in my opinion.

RCT1's one was also available with reversed variant. (+5) In RCT1 there were "Steel Mini RC" which had ladybug trains, log trains, ROCKET TRAINS(moved to "MINI" in RCT2), and spin cars (deleted in RCT2).

The closest major park to me growing up was Six Flags Great Adventure. I still remember the day I was finally tall enough to ride the all the big coasters from the RCT2 scenario!
The twister part of the hyper twister coaster is most likely based off of Raging Bull at six flags great america. It is the only B&M hyper to have a twister section, which combined with its pre drop and twisted layout makes it an extremely unique coaster all around.
True! Raging Bull almost definitely inspired the "Hyper Twister" name. It's lift hill noise was actually sampled and used in the game: ruclips.net/video/ilvdwcCmHkE/видео.html

Awesome video... I'm so glad somebody made this! Has been my dream since playing the game as a kid to ride all the coaster types represented in real life. I actually went way out of my way to Blackpool Pleasure Beach from the US just to ride the wooden wild mouse and steeplechase.. so sad the mouse is no longer there. Would love to see a similar video for the rest of the ride types!!
I love that the photo at 1:40 is taken at "Bakken", also known as the oldest Theme park . . . in the world ;-D I don't know how many times I have been on that exact ride, so many in fact that my parrents would walk around the park and come back, and I would still ride it XD
3:08 the coaster on the photo is my all time favo. In the Netherlands and 3rd im the world nr.2 Velocicoaster despite i've not done it yet nr.1 SteelVengeance
I could be wrong but I remember the inverted roller coaster (B&M inspired) was in the vanilla version but with 2 across seats. The 4 across cars were included in loopy landscapes expansion. I just remember it being odd that it was only a 2 across train but looked like B&M when playing several scenarios where I built that coaster model. The option for 2 or 4 was in the expansion and was for the inverted coaster, not the suspended looping coaster.
Had one of the first lay-down RC here in ohio. Six Flags: Worlds of Adventure built the X-Flight, with a green and black scheme before the park was bought by Cedar Fair and moved to Kings Island where it was repainted red and yellow as Firehawk until the end of the 2018 season before being demolished.
As someone who grew up with RCT3 it's funny that a few of the coaster types in that game didn't have equivalents at the time of release, and a few of those still don't have coasters like them.
Fun Fact the blue and green "boomerang" ride was originally from Six Flags Great America and at that time went by the name " deja vu" Was only up for a short time and was relocated and renamed
Another great Philly-area coster that I loved was the Hercules at Dorney Park in Allentown. PA. It was really rough but my second favorite ride ever, the first being the Mean Streak at Cedar Point. RM
@@JNattyBoi Thrill of my life. I would go to Dorney with a friend and all we did was ride Hercules 12 or more times a day. But, it was even worse thanMean Streak. But in those days I loved the rough rides.
That video is really well done. Well researched, well edited and enjoyable to watch, thank you! I once had an online blog listing all the real counter-parts of coasters and flat-rides in RCT3. It could be an interesting video since most of the RCT3 rides were either existing or genuine but obscure real-world concepts! Even the wackiest ones. Very few were invented for the game. If you need help with your research, I'd be happy to help (I nearly have all in mind already, haha. Gotta live up to my username!)
Thanks so much! RCT3 would really make for an interesting video, planning on starting it soon! I'll be sure to reach out if I run into any snags while researching (as I'm sure I will given how bizarre some of those coasters are). Would love to hear advice from the King

Would love to see a similar video for the rest of the ride types!!
10:39 can confirm... but me and my friends always make a joke out of the pain the ride gives 💀
I love how the sound for the CIC is a crash sound.
I love that the photo at 1:40 is taken at "Bakken", also known as the oldest Theme park . . . in the world ;-D I don't know how many times I have been on that exact ride, so many in fact that my parrents would walk around the park and come back, and I would still ride it XD
I liked this video a lot, great research you did in every coaster type. Loved it. I liked the sound effects lol
Thank you! Glad you liked the sound effects :)
1:43 holy shit that's terrifying
The algorithm must push this mans content through
This is a great and informative video!
3:08 the coaster on the photo is my all time favo. In the Netherlands and 3rd im the world nr.2 Velocicoaster despite i've not done it yet nr.1 SteelVengeance
Nice! The Vekomas over here in the States are generally pretty painful, but I’ve heard that the ones in Europe tend to be much more rideable
I posted this comment before watching your follow up video where I see you did clarify this point, thanks!
You have a better memory than I did when making the first video! Appreciate you checking out the follow up video and thanks for the comment!
You mentioned my favourite ride at Chessington vampire that made me a
Coaster enthusiast and that was originally an arrow
I always look for the square box on B&M coasters. Great, great work dude!! Got my follow!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support
Your channel is critically under subbed. Keep up the good work
As someone who grew up with RCT3 it's funny that a few of the coaster types in that game didn't have equivalents at the time of release, and a few of those still don't have coasters like them.
Yeah there were a ton of crazy concept coasters in that game. Hoping to dive into them in a future video
Awesome video, lol now I want to go play RCT2
Go for it! Highly recommend trying out OpenRCT2 if you haven't already
Really enjoyed thanks for the content
I've been playing Planet Coaster recently, but I forgot how many of these rides were there all the way back in the originla RCT.
Fun Fact the blue and green "boomerang" ride was originally from Six Flags Great America and at that time went by the name " deja vu" Was only up for a short time and was relocated and renamed
Yes!!! Ofcourse you are from long island too!
Another great Philly-area coster that I loved was the Hercules at Dorney Park in Allentown. PA. It was really rough but my second favorite ride ever, the first being the Mean Streak at Cedar Point. RM
The first drop on Hercules looked amazing! Sad I never got to experience it
@@JNattyBoi Thrill of my life. I would go to Dorney with a friend and all we did was ride Hercules 12 or more times a day. But, it was even worse thanMean Streak. But in those days I loved the rough rides.
Great video!
So many nights of my youth were spent at Adverntureland and on that tooth-shattering Wild Mouse.
Thanks for the awesome video man
That video is really well done.
Motorbike single rail is likely the Predecessor to Wacky soap box racers at Knotts
I loved this video, great job
