The WORST thing about Uber Eats is McDonalds! I am a late night driver and McD is usually the only request I get. It's a waste of my time and money because I have to go thru the drive thru and WAIT. Tonight I waited 25 minutes for one meal / no tip because of the long wait for the food I suspect. I'm over it...NO MORE LATE NIGHT DELIVERIES...FIND ANOTHER CLOWN McD
Just ordered for the first time today. The guy was quick and super nice so I gave him a 5 dollar tip just because of how quick he was. I have food delivered to me often and a lot of the times they're slow but this guy earned his money. Good video!
I cleared 3k last month doing only ubereats. Im in Dallas. Sending a pre typed message when you pick up the food to the customers works too(a lot of people appreciate it because most drivers dont ever try and make contact they just take forever trying to find the place). Something along the lines of "Hey just letting you know i just got your food and ill let you know when im close so you can meet me outside!" 90% of people will have no problem coming to meet you. People know beforehand whether theyre gonna tip you or not so I don't waste my time finding an apt in a complex. All that time will add up and subtract significantly from your earnings. If they don't answer, hit the timer and when the timer is done, end and onto the next. Uber will have your back if the customer says it was not delivered but you attempted to make contact and stayed for the 5 minutes.
epcotcenter82 If the customer cancels the order after you've picked it up, or if they don't receive the order (dont answer the door or not answering the phone) then you just keep the food for yourself. I'm not totally sure how the payment works out for that. I think in most areas you just get a $5 credit instead of the full trip amount. I only had that happen once though in hundreds of deliveries. Probably not something to worry about. Hope this helps!!
epcotcenter82 try and call them. If they dont answer, go back to the uber app and right above confirm drop off you should see "soandso didnt answer?". Hit that, itll start a 5 minute timer and that's all you have to wait. They dont show up by the 5 minutes, dont END the trip, CANCEL the trip because then they cant give you a thumbs down. And then yeah the food is yours. My lunch today was a grandys order somebody didnt pick up for.
@@raym0s Wish I knew to hit cancel on one of my deliveries. I just started last week and stood around trying to contact the customer for 15 minutes. I hit 'delivered', left, and called phone support to let them know. I saw a bad rating the next day. :T
Tips are meant to be used as a reward for service that is above and beyond, not as a standard inclusion in the price of whatever you are paying for Why do americans not understand how tips are meant to be used???
I can’t imagine not tipping a delivery driver. Every time I order from a pizza place or a delivery service, I always tip 10-15% so surprised to hear that tips aren’t that common.
One thing that helps with the not enough information from the customer con is to call/text the customer once you pick up the food from the restaurant. That way, if there is any information you'll need to complete the delivery like a gate code or apartment number, you can have it ahead of time if the information isn't already in the app.
First off...great video. Thank you very much. I signed up for UberEats to supplement my income (help pay my kids tuition), and used this video as a tutorial before making my first run. I'm delivering just south of Portland, OR. First batch of deliveries today...ended up with 7 stops and just over $70 ... tips were included on four of my stops. That included a big one from my first delivery which ended up being a sizable business lunch. I agree, delivering to apartments or business complexes was definitely the most difficult. Finding your way through those maze of numbers can be difficult often times even if you have solid instructions. I had trouble on stop number two finding a business in the middle of a drab complex where everything looked the same. Eventually found the lady who had come out to the curb to search me out. Explained it was my first day and she left me with kind words, a smile and a tip that at least matched what she must have spent on food. I did two rounds ... one during lunch hour which will be my most typical time, then another round in the evening to get some more practice. Finding apartments after dark is ten-fold difficult :) A couple questions... Is there any way of knowing your final destination before accepting an order? I found that near the end of my window, I wanted to work my way closer to home, but I couldn't find anyway to know the final destination, so a couple times I got pulled in the complete opposite direction ... once by a long shot. Any tips for cell phones? Sun glare was killing me on my navigation during lunch hour and my phone ran out of juice literally as I parked my car to make my final delivery of the night. thanks much
Great video and you are absolutely right about delivering to an apartment complex. Just started eats and it is cool. Oh btw I drive x and eats at the same time. One way to promote eats to customer when they smell food in your car. To get rid 90% for the smell I open all the windows and turn the AC to the highest level for a minute.
One more tip I've picked up six weeks in. Before you start your shift, give yourself a set time when you will hit the 'Go Offline' button and quit for the day. I've found it far too tempting to catch that one last delivery that will hopefully get me a bit closer to home only to get sent completely the opposite direction and getting left with a long drive home to end the night. Twice this week, I've lucked out and finished with deliveries within a mile or two of my home, but three other times I tried to sneak in that extra stop late in my shift and ended up with long drives home, getting back a good half-hour after I had hoped. Portland, OR delivery here. In my experience Thai food, Teriyaki and Chinese food are the biggest wildcards. McDonalds, sub shops and your chain sit-down spots (Denny's, etc) tend to be mostly close deliveries. Five Guys is the wildcard. Probably 60-40 long deliveries. Had a customer explain that there was a promotion going on, so he selected the Five Guys that was 20 minutes away instead of the one that was half as far from his place. Always seems strange to me when I get a $12-$14 delivery to bring a plate of noodles across the city. I don't mind a longer trip now and again, but prefer quick hitters. More trips = more tips.
Started a week ago. First night was a nightmare. lol. I do better in my township since I'm familiar with area, parking is great, etc. Instant pay means I don't have to go into my bank account every day for stuff like milk, lunch money for my kid, etc., and I love the flexibility. I usually startxmy day by picking up one on my way to my full time job. That's my lunch money for the day. lol. Then in the evening I drive for 2-3 hours, maybe stop home for a bit, maybe go back out if I feel like it. Run my quick errands in between pick ups.
Tips can be streaky, but its barely worth the time when you go through a dry spell. Last two days of lunch runs I'm 3-for-17 (17.6% of customers tipping), looking at it $-wise it was $6 of tips for $86 in deliveries (6.9%). If you can't afford to tip your delivery guy a little something, then you can't afford to have a meal delivered to your door. I don't get people. Super convenient to have food delivered to your home and/or office, show some gratitude with a tip.
Parking and traffic congestion can be mitigated by using an electric bike (I bet I can get through the city in rush hour on my bike before you can in your car)
I use to drive for regular Uber. I started doing Uber Eats this past week and like it so much more. The only downside is less tips. But at least I don’t have to deal with them as much...
Well I kinda see that I will be having a lot of dinners from people not picking up their orders I think I can do eats cause I will be doing all the eating
I just started UberEats yesterday and made $128 total with 5 tips from customers. Total of 8 hours of work. Not bad. I agree with your video about all the pros and cons. Good thing I also use Postmates in conjunction with UberEats to maximize my earning potentials. Great video man
First day driving...I've found the person they attach to you for text help to be moderately helpful, but using the "Get Support" button while out on deliveries is a waste of time. Here I'll take care of it for you "Can you restart the app?" "Did you do that?" "Okay, can you restart your phone?" That's the extent of the trouble shooting, which got me nowhere. I eventually figured out myself that I had not clicked one of the buttons on the app that I needed to proceed with the delivery. Simple stuff, but I was left to sort it out on my own in the middle of a delivery. Luckily, the customer at the end of the route was understanding and generous.
Personally, I prefer UberEats lately over Postmates just because the delivery rate is much lower and fair. When the delivery rate is lower I feel more inclined to give a better tip.
As far as tips go, I've made two deliveries in 10 days and received tips on 7 of them. Although he is spot on about the wealthy not tipping. My longest trip last night sent me about 20 minutes into the area's swanky neighborhood and it was my only trip of the night that came without tip. I remember picking up the order, seeing where I was going and letting out a groan knowing a long wasted trip was likely ahead.
Rich people think tips are only for fancy sit down restaurants. I don't know where this mentality came from? They have to know we are not provided a vehicle thru the company and we have to pay for our own gas unlike FedEx or USPS drivers.
I offer a great deal of respect to you for delivering in the ATL as well as the Marietta area where I'm pretty sure the term " Hurry up and Wait " began on US 75 !
escapementalprison had a mostly nekked lady come to door. Avert eyes..."your order ma'am" keep looking straight ahead, oh god please take these tacos and close the door tyvm haha
Great video. I’m somewhat new to the Atlanta area, and have been trying to decide if I should drive for uber eats or not - greatly appreciate that you were straight to the point!
Good summation of Uber Eats. Uber needs to firm up the rules on Uber Eats Drivers being told by customer to "leave food at the doorstep or garage" etc. Most cities have food guidelines regarding delivering food to people. Board of Health rules. Also, when you end up waiitng for food to be ready at restaurant (pickup location), many times the store help wont tell you how long it will be. So, what do you do to let customer know you'll be late dropping food off. Almost everyone ive delivered to is anxious to get the food. Their hungry and may be out of sorts if you're late. Do you call them? Well, you can, but that means you have to "Start Delivery" to get their phone #. That can result in a higher Delivery fee, not to mention a bad rating for "late dropping off food". Dont forget to tell customer that you HAD to wait at the store, the food was not ready. If you dont, they will ding you on review.
I also drive Uber eats, I think it is great, I average 150. To 200. Every day, I drive 5 days a week in Montgomery,Al.. it is sweet Your video’s are right on target great job...
they just added "tips" in the chicago area, i've had one customer, a wise ass, "got change for $100?", after that, i've had change for $100! the tips is a good thing and a bad thing, bad, maybe Uber reports the tips to the IRS. i was driving for uber until 2 months ago, my car overheated. i had it "fixed" at a mercedes dealer, it's still behaving the same, felt like i got a $900 car wash. first weeks i drove for uber eats i was making almost $600 a week, they added McD's and my income dropped 50%, you drive 3-6 miles to McDs and wait 10 minutes to drive one mile to deliver $5! McD's will KILL uber eats, McD's don't tip! and it's usually a mile or less.
mr bad example Wow that's some bad luck. Yeah I agree, there are a few McD's in my area and it is always a long wait and never more than 2 mile delivery. Hate it
well i got a "regular job" and start wednesday, it's a "temp" position in a warehouse, 3-6 months, then after that's over, 6 months of unemployment :) i'll probably get a new car in 2 months if the job holds up, but if Uber starts doing burger king, they are done! (i had some KFC's as well)
I work for Postmates and just signed up for UE. When you get a call for Postmates, it shows you the name and location of the restaurant so you can skip whatever you don’t want to deliver. I’ve found that burgers and tacos such as McDs, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell will usually not get you a tip. I only do burgers and tacos after everything else is closed. One time I cancelled a McDonalds order because I took a sneak peek at the order and found out it was for three dollar burgers! 😂😂
@@mrbadx19 Yeah, I really hate Mc Donalds. I usually just cancel once I see Mc Donalds pop up. I try to stay away from areas where I know there will be a Mc Donalds order. I took one for the hell of it last night. Took me 10 minutes to drive to the McDonalds location. When I got there, it was obviously not open so I cancelled and called phone support. Spent another 10 minutes telling them what happened and got just $3 for wasting my time. McDonalds suck. They need to pay drivers 3x the amount for that crap.
Five months into it in the Pacific Northwest and it's serving the 'extra cash' purpose to pay my kids' school tuition. The new addition allowing drivers all of the delivery pick-up/drop-off information has been great. The worst part of my experience is delivering to apartments where customers are often clueless with instructions delivering into a dense area. So many times, I'll get the 'Oh yeah, all the drivers end up over across the street' Well how about giving better instructions if it keeps happening. Only other glitch I encounter too often are restaurants not giving you the full order. Early on they were pretty thorough at confirming the order was complete. But the last couple months that has lagged. Nothing makes an angrier customer than seeing they are missing part of what they paid for.
Thanks so much for all your updates! Has been great to see your progress. And I know, the new feature where they tell you more delivery information is so useful. Helps a lot for deciding whether or not you want to accept that last trip of the day 😁
Good video, thanks for creating and sharing. Just started out in the Charleston, SC market, you got have great points. Also a good tip, save the Uber Driver/Eats customer number in your phone. My first delivery - know the restaurant, easy pickup, but somehow from pickup to heading to guest, it got screwy and would only give me the restaurants address and number. had to go back to restaurant + call in too, she gave me the customer support number and i was able to get in touch with support to get the address (once I had picked up the delivery, the address no longer showed up at the restaurant so they were just as clueless as I was where this was going). Client was very nice and understanding and still gave me a very nice sized tip!
My wife has been doing Doordash for over a year now. She is all signed up for Uber Eats but is concerned about whether or not it has any strange quirks to its system. Her concern is based upon when she tried out for Postmates and their odd process (personally unable to define what the oddity was / is). I see it as fairly straight forward. Especially as there is no need to make the purchase for the customer on an Uber Eats CC. Do you know if a couple can use the same vehicle to drive for Uber Eats? I am wanting to start up on weekends but don't have a qualifying vehicle beyond the one my wife uses. Thanks - good / great video
I personally think Uber Eats deliveries are pretty straight forward as well. Especially not having to pay for orders, that's huge. All processed directly through the app. So you just navigate to and from restaurants and customers' homes. As for driving on the same vehicle, I am fairly sure you would both need to be "signed up" and approved on the vehicle individually. That may be something to call Uber Eats support about and ask them, as I haven't encountered that before. You can call a support number through the HELP section on the Uber Driver App and they may know. The other option is to find your local Uber office and ask in person. You can find that location by searching "Uber Greenlight Hub" and your city/state. Hope this helps! Let me know if any other questions come up.
Thank u for posting this video. I've been driving through for about a year now and I learned some things that I didn't know simply by watching your video
TyRedChuckers It really depends on the amount of hours you drive. But based on my driving, it amounts to around $12-$15 an hour. They just recently added tipping for UberEats so that should add a little extra $$.
MoyerOfficial That's not bad at all for doing it part time!!. I drive Uber as well and work at home so I think I'm gonna start this soon. Thanks for the info!
I just started ubereats this week! Done it 3 days and so far I'm averaging $10 to $11 an hr. I'm excited for next week because there will be promotions of 1.1x- 1.5x but I'm not sure.. what does that mean?!...🤔 Thanks!
i worked for ubereats for like 7 months and let me tell you 99.9 percent of the time i was going threw frestrations. getting stuck in traffic, cant find parking, the gps takes me astray, getting 115 dallar parking tickets i was going threw hell...
Julio Santana You didn't master the art if you stuggled for 7 months. I do it from 10pm-4am when the $10 per order promotion is going on. Zero traffic. Drive thru. Don't even have to get out of my car
way ahead of ya i started working in the over night hours to avoid traffic but im bearly getting any request now and the surge and promodtion is worthless if you aint getting no request i work for 12 to 14 hours and im only making like 30 to 50 dallars.
what art? I adjusted and started working in the over night hours to avoid traffic and now im not getting request so its not really about mastering art if you dont get no request then theres nothing you can do about it and i mentioned that i was working for 7 moths i did not say that i was working during the day during the hole entire 7 months i didnt know that driving and dilivering was a art
bruh i have no idea what is it that your trying to cimunicate to me if your trying to belittle me or trying to make me feel inignificant save it that bullshit is not gona work with me
Yes I hated waiting for food thru the drive thru. Once I waited over 1hr and 30min from PopEye's and then taking another 20mins to drop off two separate orders for less than $20 for 2hrs.
They let you deliver via bicycle, that'd be where you'd make your money in NYC. However, I'm not sure how many ppl would order Uber Eats in the city, since you can pretty much walk out your front door and find food. Good luck to you though!!
@@badnewsbruner An enormous amount of people order UberEATS, Grubhub, Doordash, etc in NYC. People are so busy, many can't leave their desk during work and just order on their phone. Moms and dads both work and get home at 6, they're hungry, kids are hungry. It's so much easier to just press a few buttons on the phone and get food than cook a whole meal, or dress up the whole family to go out and eat overpriced NYC restaurant food. You may not live in NYC, so you may not understand how crazy expensive a lot of restaurants are. And the good places that are cheap, guess what? They're busy as f**k, and you have to wait a long time to sit down at a table. Online delivery for many people is no longer a luxury, but instead, a necessity. And yes, most delivery people in NYC use bicycles.
I’m gonna say this, I did 2 deliveries today my very first time ever trying out the app, made $17.17 not too bad that’s half a tank of gas, the sad part is, I was online for 2 hours and 30mins, I literally came home and was watching RUclips while I was waiting, now I know it’ll differ area to area, I live 20mins north of Nashville, there are NO promos around here at all this week, so I could make more but not this week, also I do not like paying for my own gas and maintenance! BUT, you’ll make more than enough to supplement the coverages as long as it’s gas and oil, in my personal opinion, if you have $1500 or can get $1500 through a loan or a buy here pay here, go out and buy a cheap ass 4 door car in good condition “I recommend a Chevy, ford or Honda” make sure the A/C works!! And do Uber and UberEats on fridays Saturday’s and Sunday’s, and stay away from downtown, stay outside of big cities, you’ll make more for bringing people into downtown opposed to taking people out, you don’t get paid much IF ANY for waiting, and finding somebody in a crowd isn’t fun when you don’t get paid for time, also try to start 30 mins to an hour before prime times “lunch and dinner times” that’s when most people will order cause they want their food for their lunch breaks or scheduled time, if anybody else has some tips or tricks feel free to comment
Sugar Spice And Everything Nice parking isn’t the issue, to me. I believe it’s more in the fares and tips. People don’t tip when you have a service that gives you the option. I feel the option of tipping should be eliminated and forced like auto shops on labor
I agree with you. I’ve been doing Uber eat with doordash and been able to earn a decent amount of money and will plan to do it till as long as I can for that one fact that I hate having a supervisor always breathing down my neck lol.. For those customer that doesn’t give a lot of detail of where their apartment is or gated code what do you usually? I usually just call them and turn on the timer regardless if they pick up or not and will try my best of the direction that was given to me by the customer at that time. When working for Uber eat time is really money and I will not spend to much time trying to find a customer house if their direction isn’t clear enough for me to find it.
Cons. As a small food business Ubereats charges us 35% per transaction. That is a huge number. I have chosen not to use Ubereats for delivery. We have other delivery services that don’t charge us at all and I would rather do business with them. I wish you continued success with your delivery gig.
my worst ubereats delivery it took 1 hour to make $10 earnings... 18 minutes drive to restraunt, 15 minutes wait for food, 7 minute drive to delivery address wihch was wrong, phone call with customer they lied , second phone call to customer they then told me where they wanted their food (20 mins after ariving)...
as soon as I know how much time the restaurant is taking , I would call the customer to give them heads up because is not your fault you are just standing there or he will get pissed at you by not even considering a tip!
Watch out for people that use fake delivery address, after you pickup their food and travel to their fake drop off point, they will text you the real address any where from 20 to 30 min + drive.
Thanks for heads up, kids will do that as well since they are not allowed to have food delivered to the high school. As far as I know in pa the high school is private property and no delivery to minors?
My first and last to drive uber eats -- never again. First when I got to the restaurant, I needed to wait almost 10 minutes for the food. Then I have to carry 6 heavy bags. Customer house is over 5 miles. When I finally reached the house, parking was difficult (I needed to park a little further because no parking close to the house). I have to do parallel parking which added more stress to myself as if I’m not stressed yet. Finally I parked then knocked on the door delivered the food politely .........then Customer took food. Then I left.... It’s not good to expect a tip, but I am hoping the customer gives me even a dollar for all the trouble I went thru.... Nothing..... And the delivery, I only get paid $7.
Could you be any more petty? You're whining about not being able to find parking and having to carry bags of food, which couldn't weigh more than 5 pounds...
You waited 10 minutes? Wow poor you, I've waited up to 30 minutes and never complained i feel like 10 minutes isn't even that bad?😂 all you have to do is chill for a sec you're getting paid for the shit.
What does UberEats charge the customer vs what they pay the driver? And why does no-one tip the UberEats Driver? When I delivered pizzas you might get 3 or 4 'stiffs' on about 30 deliveries.. I've taken 40 stops for Uber Eats and only 2 people have tipped. Do the customers think we get the total amount of what they are charged or what?
Customers can tip you in the app, I get tips quite a lot. I actually get cash tips sometimes as well. I don't expect them though, but it's nice when it happens.
Nice video, I start driving tomorrow and I'm super stoked! I'm a chronic pain sufferer and have multiple spinal conditions which make it impossible for me to work a job where I'm standing for more than 10% of the day. In comes Uber and gives me a position where I'm primarily sitting and doesn't include any heavy lifting! I'm also my OWN BOSS!! Thanks Uber for keeping me in the work force, and giving me an option besides a puny disability check!
Wow! Great to hear that you found something that works for you! 👍👍 Good luck out there, and let us know how your first day goes. Happy to help if any questions come up 👍
@@MoyerOfficial Thanks dude! I'll let ya know how tomorrow goes for me, and thank you for the support. If I have any questions I'll be sure to ask you!
@@badnewsbruner Awesome!! My only advice would be this: be patient the first few days. It can be frustrating before you get the hang of it, but you will!
@@MoyerOfficial Thank you for the advice, I've had tons of jobs, and I have lots of patience. I'm sure once I figure out where to hang around I'll kill it ;) Thanks for being so personable man, that's really awesome!
@@MoyerOfficial Hey man! Sorry it took me so long to respond! So, I called in today because I've got the yucks, and by called in I mean told myself I wasn't going to work today because I felt like ass ran over. Being your own boss is the best! However, The past 3 days of driving have been incredible! I absolutely love it! I'm making much better money than I was working a job that I HATED for the past 4 years under a supervisor who was a complete bitch.I was also always in trouble due to my disabilities causing me to be tardy and have to take longer in the restroom than most people so I was always on the brink of being fired due to something I can't control. In short, I am happier than I've ever been in my 15 years in the workforce. I don't mean that as hyperbole, that's the honest truth. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I can't stand or complete repetitive motions on my feet for more than about 25 minutes at a time before I have to sit or lie down, and with Uber I don't have to do that. So, I'm making better money, and I'm in MUCH less pain with Uber than any other job I've worked. I will continue to drive for Uber Eats as long as I physically can. Uber, if you're reading this, thank you so much for keeping me in the workforce and off of disability benefits!! I am so appreciative of this opportunity!!!! And thank you MoyerOfficial for being such a kind and personable guy! Have a great day!!
Question, will you always have customers? Or are there certain parts of the day where you won’t have any deliveries. Also, are the locations always close to you? Or do they go 20miles+ from you
sam Costin If you live in a bigger city, you will typically always have deliveries. Doesn't matter the time of day. Outside of bigger cities it's busy during lunch and dinner hours, but can slow down a good bit before or after those times. As for delivery distance, I've never really gotten one more than 20 miles. I think it's pretty rare, but it is possible. The vast majority of your deliveries would be between 1-10 miles. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions 👍
sam Costin I think you do, but there are a lot of factors. It's all about how quick you can get the deliveries completed. You really need to be getting 4 or 5 deliveries an hour to make decent money, maybe more. If it's a slow day, too much traffic, not enough demand for orders etc, then it's tough to make a good profit when you factor in gas. Either way, it takes a bit of time to figure out the best time of day to drive in your city, and what area is the best place to drive. Usually you need to hang around areas with the most available UberEats restaurants.
I work for Postmates and I can tell you that it takes 4-7 business days for them to pay you for a delivery. Tips don’t show up until at least 24 hours after delivery and often days later. I’m signing up for UE as well so I can get some of that instant money.
I did Ubereats for 2 years in Burbank. I made pretty decent money the first year. The 2nd year I'm lucky to bring home $20 for 3 hrs of work. The fee sucks, there's no surge anymore, and there's no guarantee of $20. I switched to Grubhub and make twice as much now.
I've just started in the past week and it's been great, except for already getting some customer thumbs downs for "late drop-off" when it was because the order was LATE to be ready, i'm sitting and waiting for it. I thumbed down one merchant (mcdonalds) because of the wait. Otherwise i'm wasting no time. I will try maybe sending a courtesy message if i had to wait, like "I'm on my way, order was delayed to be ready. sorry for the inconvenience". What also annoys me with the rating system is that only a small percentage actually rate, like 25% of trips. The other 75% should be "de facto" thumbs up, they got the order in a reasonable time, no complaints right? Most don't care to rate once delivered and all good. So just having the occasional thumbs down will hurt my rating.
I, too, have received the dreaded "thumbs down" and it makes me want to quit. Customers can be petty. Don't get me started on how the pin is misleading. And calling the customer? Often I get a dead icon. And Distance? I got flung to the far West end of my town for a McDelivery 10 minutes away.
another con is when you get a request saying 1 min request and when you accept it and changes to 15 or 20 min request. So just accept it and then cancel it as "To far away" cause you not gonna get paid for the 15 min to get there until you pick up the order is when you start getting paid. And then people don't even tip. I'll do like 17 trips and only get 2 tips. These customers think the food falls from a cloud not knowing we ubereat driver are traveling far to deliver.
Nice video you are very attractive btw if you have a long wait you should cancel if the order is not ready after ten minutes you can cancel and do a payment adjustment request and Uber will compensate you $5 for the wait time.
Im kinda worried geico might want to check my odometer.. before I started working for ubereats I was driving like 4000 miles a year.. which makes my insurance really cheap... first week with ubereats and drove 400 miles..
Bethanie Arney State law is different for every state on that, for instance New York State requires commercial insurance even for food delivery, that's what it says when I tried to sign up for Amazon Flex
why TF would you tell your insurance company? thats the stupidest thing to do. They will never find out. If you drive alot of miles, first they will never care, but lets imagine they ask, just say you went on an adventure trip
Cons are: parking, waiting, giving wrong address and keeping wild 🐶 but didn't inform to delivery boy. It's just jump out to bite at the gate. So I always ride with my lincese 9mm pistol.
MoyerOfficial Don't sweat it. It's just my opinion and I'm not a fan of beards, too scratchy. I didn't notice the shoulder length hair before, that's actually cool. But to me, you just look ok like a normal guy.
melody johnson Haha, no worries. I'm just messing around. But like...RIGHT? I'm just a normal dude, not some handsome guy. Don't know what these people are talking about. 😂😂
this video is so helpful! I signed up a couple weeks ago however, I just now started driving for uber eats and love it! I wish I saw your referral code before I signed up though. Do you think I could still use your code even though I've done some trips already? update: just emailed uber and they applied your code to my account! thanks for helping me make extra cash & hope you get some dough too 👐👌👌👌
Anita Frey I'm not entirely sure, other than emailing Uber support. I think you should be able to go into the Uber Driver app, go to the Help tab, then select Accounts and Payments, and then Referrals. You should be able to enter my code retroactively there! Message me if they need any other info. Name, phone # etc. Good luck!
I'm not sure what UberEats actually wants you to do in that situation. Worth looking into. My thought would be to keep calling/texting the customer (the app gives you their name and number) and if after 15 minutes or so you still don't have an answer, you can cancel the order in the app. I believe in this case you would just keep the food. You could also leave the food if it seems like it would be a safe spot to leave it, and when you complete the trip on your app you can leave a note that states where you left it. I've done hundreds of deliveries and haven't had that happen though! Thanks
Thanks. Good honest info. I would have liked to hear a little about how much drivers make or more on how the fees work but still good stuff. Thanks man! :)

uber eat takes 35%. fuh i feel like 25% for the uber driver is a lot already.
Way too much free time
The WORST thing about Uber Eats is McDonalds!
You had me at "don't have to talk to a supervisor EVER."
No shit. Work for myself and not do anything for someone else? Hell yes!!!
Just ordered for the first time today. The guy was quick and super nice so I gave him a 5 dollar tip just because of how quick he was. I have food delivered to me often and a lot of the times they're slow but this guy earned his money. Good video!
@RedTeamReview - Thanks for that! Us drivers really appreciate the kind gesture!
maybe he got lucky with the green lights lol
RedTeamReview give yourself a pat for giving $5 . Dumb shit
@@jobdoneright5934 that's actually alot for a Uber eats worker. He's a nice dude
eats-yarimars19ue use this code on your ubereats app and get $5 off
Honestly, with something like this, the pros outweigh the cons due to the simplicity of it. Easiest money I have made in my life.
I agree, I love it! I've never been more satisfied with a job.

Jose Ramos Great advice!! I have wasted a lot of time searching for buildings, apartment units, etc. May have to try this method out! 👍👍
epcotcenter82 If the customer cancels the order after you've picked it up, or if they don't receive the order (dont answer the door or not answering the phone) then you just keep the food for yourself. I'm not totally sure how the payment works out for that. I think in most areas you just get a $5 credit instead of the full trip amount. I only had that happen once though in hundreds of deliveries. Probably not something to worry about. Hope this helps!!
epcotcenter82 You know it! Good luck out there. Let me know if you have any questions once you get started. Happy to help 👍👍
epcotcenter82 try and call them.
Hey I liked how you were straight and to the point. Good video man
Alpha Wolf Cinema Thanks!
I always tip my uber eats driver. Especially if the restaurant is really close and the fee is lower. I pass it on to the driver.

Tips are meant to be used as a reward for service that is above and beyond, not as a standard inclusion in the price of whatever you are paying for
Why do americans not understand how tips are meant to be used???
@@mwbgaming28 Don't pigeonhole yourself.. I am Canadian...

I never deliver at rush hours 4 to 6pm. Lunches are ok, from 6 to 9 during summer is good plus stays light out.
I can’t imagine not tipping a delivery driver. Every time I order from a pizza place or a delivery service, I always tip 10-15% so surprised to hear that tips aren’t that common.
A lot of people believe tipping is unncessary when in reality waiters and drivers dont make all that much
One thing that helps with the not enough information from the customer con is to call/text the customer once you pick up the food from the restaurant. That way, if there is any information you'll need to complete the delivery like a gate code or apartment number, you can have it ahead of time if the information isn't already in the app.
I love Uber eats .I work for them Full time .great money
Finding apartments after dark is ten-fold difficult :)
A couple questions...
Samantha Hawkins Nice 🤩🤩🙌🏽🙌🏽
I do that now. Different food each day
I just started UberEats yesterday and made $128 total with 5 tips from customers. Total of 8 hours of work. Not bad. I agree with your video about all the pros and cons. Good thing I also use Postmates in conjunction with UberEats to maximize my earning potentials. Great video man
I didn't know that Sergio Ramos had a side kick job. :)
😂😂😂
helps you learn navigating the city was a big one for me. I learned so many connecting roads that made normal daily driving so much easier.
Same for me! It's crazy how quickly you can get familiar.
Yea ive been living in my city for a very long time and i went down roads i never knew existed lol
Cool video. I just started last week. So far so good
David McBenttes how has it been for this past month now?
First day driving...I've found the person they attach to you for text help to be moderately helpful, but using the "Get Support" button while out on deliveries is a waste of time.
Here I'll take care of it for you "Can you restart the app?" "Did you do that?" "Okay, can you restart your phone?"
That's the extent of the trouble shooting, which got me nowhere.

“Nothing to see here, man. I’m just recording a video for RUclips..” dude, I know the pain. This was pretty funny
smsdamiracle Glad you noticed that! Hahaha 😂
Bruh I got a door dash ad on an Uber Eats video💀

I also drive Uber eats, I think it is great, I average 150. To 200. Every day, I drive 5 days a week in Montgomery,Al.. it is sweet

Uber Eats should pay you for this video. I'm sold, I just got a new car and I'm about to apply now. Thanks bro.
they just added "tips" in the chicago area, i've had one customer, a wise ass, "got change for $100?", after that, i've had change for $100! the tips is a good thing and a bad thing, bad, maybe Uber reports the tips to the IRS. i was driving for uber until 2 months ago, my car overheated. i had it "fixed" at a mercedes dealer, it's still behaving the same, felt like i got a $900 car wash. first weeks i drove for uber eats i was making almost $600 a week, they added McD's and my income dropped 50%, you drive 3-6 miles to McDs and wait 10 minutes to drive one mile to deliver $5!
(i had some KFC's as well)
I live in Charlotte if someone asks if I have change for $100, ill loose whatever money I had, my Phone, and my Car.
Helps a lot for deciding whether or not you want to accept that last trip of the day 😁
Why don't ur kids drive for Uber to pay for THIER tuition
Yo good vid man I just wanted to say thanks for wearing your seatbelt
Jim Anderson hahaha thanks for noticing. ALWAYS wearing that seatbelt. Buckles or knuckles!!

Jim Anderson I like the way you operate 👌

TyRedChuckers It really depends on the amount of hours you drive. But based on my driving, it amounts to around $12-$15 an hour. They just recently added tipping for UberEats so that should add a little extra $$.

Yes I hated waiting for food thru the drive thru. Once I waited over 1hr and 30min from PopEye's and then taking another 20mins to drop off two separate orders for less than $20 for 2hrs.
I guess doing this in NYC will be a lot of troble? Too much traffic. Hard to park.
Kai Liu I would assume so! I think a lot of the UberEats people up there run as bike messengers. Not sure how parking would work haha
Kai Liu Visual specially for a truck driver
I gave the guy in Atlanta a tip of 20% in cash while I was there at a convention. He seemed pleased. My meal was delicious, so I was very pleased!
You can't get instant pay if you lease through X-change, according to Uber and X-change, for reasons they can't explain.
Did you just put a key in your door? What is this the 1980s?

I haven’t started UberEats yet my biggest concerns are getting lost or not finding parking
I hate driving downtown or buckhead because its hard to find parking

Thank you for this. Good details without talking too much. Just straight to the point.
Brittiany Hightower Good to hear! That's what I was going for. Thanks
my worst ubereats delivery it took 1 hour to make $10 earnings... 18 minutes drive to restraunt, 15 minutes wait for food, 7 minute drive to delivery address wihch was wrong, phone call with customer they lied , second phone call to customer they then told me where they wanted their food (20 mins after ariving)...
ronald rogerson I would have eaten their food for that one! Hahaha
BreuckelensFinest I felt like smashing the food on her face but while I know a customer is awake and wanting service I do not give up unfortunate ly
as soon as I know how much time the restaurant is taking , I would call the customer to give them heads up because is not your fault you are just standing there or he will get pissed at you by not even considering a tip!
I'm done. I quit my career. I'm driving. I've been doing security forever and I'm used to waiting, so at least I'll get paid now.
Thx!!!!!!!
That’s what I’m saying.
I knew from the background that you were in ATL lol. I'm waiting on my approval now
I am an uber driver and this was very interesting and valuable - not sure I will do this but now I have a better idea what to expect.
You’d be lucky to even get $7 from door dash since they love to steal the online tips.
You waited 10 minutes? Wow poor you, I've waited up to 30 minutes and never complained i feel like 10 minutes isn't even that bad?😂 all you have to do is chill for a sec you're getting paid for the shit.
Can you cancel if the food takes over 10 minutes?
Peter DeGuzman Try to have someone in the passenger seat so you don’t have to park
I’m from upper Atlanta it’s cool to see a local Georgia person on RUclips
Jack Crowder Thanks for the comment! Great to see some other Atlanta area people here 👍👍
What does UberEats charge the customer vs what they pay the driver?
And why does no-one tip the UberEats Driver? When I delivered pizzas you might get 3 or 4 'stiffs' on about 30 deliveries.. I've taken 40 stops for Uber Eats and only 2 people have tipped. Do the customers think we get the total amount of what they are charged or what?
Customers can tip you in the app, I get tips quite a lot. I actually get cash tips sometimes as well. I don't expect them though, but it's nice when it happens.
Great video! I do Uber Eats occasionally, but I make more than double with Grubhub usually, since people do tip!
pros: money
cons: work
😂😂
Nice video, I start driving tomorrow and I'm super stoked! I'm a chronic pain sufferer and have multiple spinal conditions which make it impossible for me to work a job where I'm standing for more than 10% of the day. In comes Uber and gives me a position where I'm primarily sitting and doesn't include any heavy lifting! I'm also my OWN BOSS!! Thanks Uber for keeping me in the work force, and giving me an option besides a puny disability check!
Wow! Great to hear that you found something that works for you! 👍👍
Good luck out there, and let us know how your first day goes.
MoyerOfficial one more question.. do you make enough off deliveries to cover your gas and make a reasonable profit?
sam Costin I think you do, but there are a lot of factors.
MoyerOfficial oh okay, makes sense. Thanks for responding!
Hey man. I’m from Marietta but I live in dunwoody now. I loved the quick little scene of the Marietta square 👌🏻
AverageLeaguePlayer Nice! Yep, gotta love the square 👍
I suggest postmates, uber takes mad long until you get a hit
I have thought about checking out Postmates. Thanks for the tip!
brandon reid postmate suck in some areas
brandon reid who's better to work for...Uber Eats, Grubhub or postmates?
Yourtrashmytreasure
I wanna know about that too
I work for Postmates and I can tell you that it takes 4-7 business days for them to pay you for a delivery.
My experience in my area
Pros - Not making money
Cons - Not making money
I'll stick with X / SELECT
I got flung to the far West end of my town for a McDelivery 10 minutes away.
nice job...very informative!
another con is when you get a request saying 1 min request and when you accept it and changes to 15 or 20 min request.
Shoutout to Kennesaw! 😂👌🏾
Danielle Burnett 👌👌 Like my second home haha
that sign in the dash is a great idea. I should make one of up those up
I got mine from UberEats with the insulated bag when I signed up! So they may actually give you one. If not, pretty easy to make your own 👍
THANK YOU FOR THAT PROMO CODE U A HOMIE
I also live in the north Atlanta area, I'm about to sign up, and have some extra saving money. Thanks bro helped a lot and very informational!
Good to hear! Let me know if you run into any issues, I'm happy to help out
Nice video you are very attractive btw if you have a long wait you should cancel if the order is not ready after ten minutes you can cancel and do a payment adjustment request and Uber will compensate you $5 for the wait time.
Ruben Zepeda Jr you gay come out
Thanks for sharing your code and your pros and cons. Signing up now for the Las Vegas area. :)
In Woodstock!
Loved your video! Question: Do you have to ring their doorbell to deliver, or do they have to walk up to your car to get their food?
Both! The customer lists in the app if they want you to come to the door or meet at your car. So you'll know ahead of time for each delivery!
The wear and tear on your car is like $0.50 a mile and you have to tell your insurance you're using it for commercial purposes
Does anyone force you to tell ur insurance company? I wouldn't tell them if I'm just doing a few trips per day
I spoke with my insurance company. As long as I'm not driving riders around, it's not for commercial purposes and nothing changes.
He keeps picking his nose. People are saying he is handsome. I don't see it. He just looks normal to me.
melody johnson I 100% agree. I'm just a normal guy. Really hate all this praise. 👍
MoyerOfficial
Me either. Cool beans.
the beard
Never midtown. Parking is a nightmare. Get off at Sandy Springs exit and you're guaranteed to make good $$$
this video is so helpful! I signed up a couple weeks ago however, I just now started driving for uber eats and love it! I wish I saw your referral code before I signed up though. Do you think I could still use your code even though I've done some trips already?
update: just emailed uber and they applied your code to my account! thanks for helping me make extra cash & hope you get some dough too 👐👌👌👌
Mallisha Awesome! Glad you are liking it so far. And I didn't know you could add a referral code afterwards, so thanks for letting me know! You rock
I just signed up as well but I am still waiting for approval. How do I contact them with your code?
Anita Frey I'm not entirely sure, other than emailing Uber support. I think you should be able to go into the Uber Driver app, go to the Help tab, then select Accounts and Payments, and then Referrals. You should be able to enter my code retroactively there! Message me if they need any other info. Name, phone # etc. Good luck!
I see your in the Marietta square, I live down the road. I uber as well, Cobb is really good for getting rides
So, what if you deliver and no one's there? Leave the food?
Thanks man! :)
mrshizart Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Was thinking about doing another video where I dive into the actual pay and show my real earnings. What do you think?
