    Have started the final issues of this model, did 93 and 94 today. In all honesty I think this partworks should have come with a mental health warning! Will continue with the rest of the build tomorrow, Wednesday 4th. Like you, I am not changing the gears.

    Hi Wayne. You may need to have a look at the antenna wire again. It passes through the top of the antenna and then through the bottom into the Spitfire.

    Hi Wayne ... Great watching your videos on this first build for me. Uhmmm ... you may have covered this and it's not a biggee ... I take it hachette never released replacement covers for the landing gear covered in Part 28 ? I know you mentioned a 3D Print would be easy enough to do, which I may do myself when I get chance. Incidentally ... I wrote to you a while back about my little Orion Spacecraft FREE 3D printable I did last year (for the NASA'S Project Artemis program). I've heard from 2 gents who are putting it together ... one who is going to fit lights in it, so he says ... so hopefully i'll get pics i can send to you ... hopefully I'll get feedback on any snags if any, he hit during printing and construction. Anyways ... All the best for now ! Regz Mark :-D

    I stopped building it when I found out that Hachette had chosen a particular Spitfire that has hardly any clear photos of it. The underside should definitely be duck egg green. I’ve checked endless books on Battle Of Britain Camouflage and Markings. Hachette refused to answer my queries when I put the issue to them.

    Installed the new circuit board yesterday. It works fine when the plane isn’t attached. But when attached it starts ok but then everything cuts out when taking off. Must be an issue with one of the boards.

    Wayne
    Sorry to tell you this but you have the same issue as me
    I did replace the gears and the extension cable but it doesn’t work
    If you look back at your test flight you’ll see the motor stops turning but the engine noise keeps running
    I get this too
    No idea what’s going on but it seems to just stop running in that the motor turns off but the engine noise runs
    Mines actually a lot worse
    None of the handset buttons work apart from lights morse and start
    If I press start the engine noise starts and propellor turns
    Then only other button that works is take off
    If I press that the tail lifts, then the entire plane lifts and then the propellor stops and engine noise keeps running and running and running but everything has stopped
    Overall it’s pretty rubbish

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  2 года назад +1

      I have a bigger issue now. The lifters don’t stop anymore and jam in the up position. I think I’m just ganna keep it as a static model. Not good at all.

    • @twigwonderkid
      @twigwonderkid 2 года назад

      @@WorldofWayneUK yes, I think that’s what I’m going to have to do with mine too. The fit of the panels and the drooping front means judicious glueing which all in turn means can’t take it apart to continually fix. Seriously fed up, as the simple inclusion of the odd test circuit throughout the build to test the wheels, ailerons, and lights would have found if not working they could be replaced at that time. Now I find light doesn’t work and right aileron, and wheels broken. To replace this is serious disconnection and so possibly breakage of cables in pulling them out. So left with a non working unit for which I paid a lot of money

    I'm sorry your plane is not 100% up and working after all the work you put in. It was hard to tell, and I noticed this on John's Ionic Build: Are the gun LEDs working on the port wing? With the number of detected faulty parts, the Big Question no one is asking is: Didn't they test this before release?

    • @cornwallkev201
      @cornwallkev201 2 года назад +4

      Hi Rick. If you look on the comments at John's Iconic build, many people have asked if this build was tested before being released and many people believe that it was just manufactured and put on release for the poor subscribers to deal with the problems. Many people, myself included feel that trust with Hachette has now gone. I was a subscriber to building the Titanic but now have cancelled and will NEVER SUBSCRIBE to Hachette ever again.

    • @rickgregory9616
      @rickgregory9616 2 года назад +3

      Hi Cornwall - I saw the comments on John's channel - I was making an underhanded (for lack of a better term) comment. I work for a company that develops software for the banking industry - I write customer specifications; and I am always battling engineering and QA for not testing. So, it's a sore spot for me. That said, I agree with you. If Hachette is going to release without QA - they won't last long - and I won't buy from them knowing this.

    This build has turned out to be the same as the Bismarck; in the end disappointing. A lot of time and money investing in both models with little regard by hachette to the end user. I’ve already binned the Spitfire base (£100+ on parts which were not fit for purpose) and accepted its going to be a static model.
