    For snow less than 6" deep I just use my electric Toro 1800 Power Curve Snowblower, and four 100 foot cords connected together. Works great, no need for gas. Only when the snow is more than 6" so I even bother to start up my tracked Honda blower. I have a 400 foot driveway that I clear this way, been doing this for the past 6 years and the small little Toro is still running just fine. ( close to Barrie, Ontario, Canada, where there is a LOT of snow during the winters.)

    That's a great machine my father in law bought one shortly before he passed away. If he asw this video we would be driving up from Michigan. My mother in law loves to use it, unfortunately for me. We all have all wheel drive and snow tires so we don't need it that much, but it's great to have. Love your videos.

    Hey Paul: It just fits between gas pump and your bldg! My son has our 1991 8/28 Honda and it has been worked lots this winter but no complaints. Had to re and re all the bearings and locking collars on my JD 47" front blower last week. It to has blown tons of snow since 2001 so it was time for a complete physical. Waiting for the blizzard coming tomorrow, 50+ cm forecast. Be safe.

    Hey Paul, great video FYI your Honda can climb stairs very well so even if you did not build the ramp you could drive it right up on to you patio with no problems.

    • @7863348
      @7863348  9 лет назад

      Bevin McCaine
      It might climb up stairs with no snow on them but not with snow. I tried it and all it would do is spin. I designed the aluminum ramp for two reasons. #1 so the tracks wouldn't tear up the step. #2 makes it easier to get on the patio. :)

      Thanks Frankie. I looked at the Yamaha model last year and it kind of looked home grown to me. The other thing was Yamaha went 12 years without building them or sending them to Canada as well so buyer confidence was a major factor in my decision to buying Honda.

    You mentioned picking up crush stone with your snow blower, I have learned over the years you should not have flames and sparks coming out of your discharge chute, bad sign. They don't give away those new replacement parts and they are about the same price as a new blower.

    Paul, when you attach led lights to your blower you need to connect a voltage rectifier. It prevents the light from "flickering".

    • @7863348
      @7863348  9 лет назад

      There's no flickering off camera. It's like the camera picks it up for some reason. Maybe the FPS. Bet is I set the camera up to 60 FPS you wouldn't see it.

    That's a nice machine moves snow quite nicely. I do like the 5740 better though but that blowsnower is very nice. I remember a while back a year or two ago you had a video of moving snow away from the house with the BX. Would you do that again with the big drifts up the house or just leave it?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  9 лет назад

      The only reason we used the BX last year to move the snow is because we gave our son our snow blower. He needed one worst than us. We bought this Honda to replace the one we gave away. If we had it last year we wouldn't have used the BX to move snow. The Honda can move that snow way faster than the BX.

    I knew it, you weren't going to use the shovel to clean off the patio. :) And then you said Kathy's going to shovel the steps. LOL! I can't say that I blame you as long as Kathy wants to do it. You got that ramp out and I thought, I knew it! Now that you got to use the blow snower, how many mods did you think of doing to it? You always think of mods after you use it, at least I do. That thing does a great job. I didn't think it would make it up the ramp when I seen it but I thought you put some kind of grip on it. You'll have to use some rhino liner on it but it would be heavy then. Great job at videoing Kathy. And Paul, I hope you're not going to be sore from ALL that work. :) God Bless you two! Levi~~

    • @7863348
      @7863348  9 лет назад +1

      I tried to get the blower up on the step before but it slipped on the stairs with all the snow so the diamond aluminum plate worked great.
      Yes there's one more mod that has to happen. These blowers are to lie on the handle bars so a riser kit needs to be designed and added. I'll do that this coming week. Other than that I'm pleased with the machine.
      Hope you have a great weekend.
      God Bless. Kathy says hi.

    As you know, I have a brain injury... Aside from that I must have some other affliction (gear head disease?). I can sit and watch the last two videos of blow snowing but complain that watching golf is boring...

    Hi Paul I have a couple of questions for you.
    How do the track snow blowers compair to the ones on wheels I mean in weight for turning ?
    Also would you recommend a tracked or wheel snow blower?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  9 лет назад

      Cam Trathen There's so many ways to grade the two. Triditionally the wheeled snow blower is less expensive and cheaper to repair. In most cases they are faster to move around. They are noisy, vibrate excessively and usually only have electric start via AC (plug into and outlet). Less traction.
      With the Honda tracked blower they are expensive, a little slower. Seldom break down, very reliable, great traction, all the bells and whistles including in my case the power chute, electric start at the key and because it's a Honda it's very smooth.
      After using both its obvious I like the Honda.

    Hi Paul
    Have you encountered any issues with this blower,I have read several articles where a shear pin on the Track breaks and it is very difficult to replace,if you can find one.

      Thanks for the reply,I notice in the video that it was moving slow,was that a full throttle speed you were using it at or was that the actual speed.Also in comparison with the Honda HSS928TCD versus the Ariens Deluxe 28"SHO, Model 921048,would you say purchasing the Honda would be worth investing the extra cost,over the Ariens with regards to quality/price.I know a guy who is selling a 2014 for $2900,just wondering if this is a good price,knowing that it has no warranty etc.What type of problems have you encountered/repaired on those machines.
