When I built mine, on ball bearing spindles, when I would walk away holding the lead it would spin off the whole reel of lead on the ground, So I need to make a brake to slow down the reel. So it doesn't keep spinning. Great Video 😃😃 Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to show this. I suggest that you add some kind of drum to your hose reel. I'm afraid the small radius of that axle rod may damage your hose. Best wishes sir.
@@Redneckpimp also how are you planning on running your oxy and acetylene through there? There don’t seem to be barrels for them and there’s no room to run the beginning of your hose for a quick connect set up so you can real it up without cutting it
Looking good
Looking forward to the next one

You know I was just wondering the same thing a couple days ago. So I think I might do that

That’s a good question I haven’t got all of my hose and set up yet so I haven’t figured that part out yet
@@Redneckpimp I don’t have time right now but later I’ll dm you some pics of a friends homemade reel
@@flippknight3298 sweet thank you
Damn for some reason I thought you were west Texas.. Nice build buddy!
I wish I was from Texas
I have a set of chisholms store bought lead reels I have laying around I will sell at a good price
I’ll get ahold of you tomorrow
Only problem with steel reels is you have to totally pull out all of your lead or they will magnetize, and also heat soak and destroy to your leads.
That’s true. I’m trying to build another truck so I can get away from the reels
U in Indiana
Yep right next to Ohio and Michigan
@@Redneckpimp right on im a hour north of indy.
@@JWC85 you ain’t far from me then!
Why don’t you buy some reel from someone that know how to make them ?? Your a welder you shouldn’t be struggling with easy petty sh€t like that
I wasn’t struggling I just didn’t think of buying the bearings to build them as a single sided stance
